@★ Park Jae Jung@★ Lai Meiyun Wow, this room is really nice— Suzy thought passively as she peeked in from the door window. The dance studio where Suji spent most of her training hours was nice too, but ultimately she had spent too much time in that room that she had become accustomed to its appearance and its quality and wow-factor had slowly wilted into a very spacious, occasionally smelly room that constantly caused the girl stress whenever she walked in; she still loved it though, of course. She had barely had the time or motivation to venture into the vocal training room though, so as she examined it from outside she admired its pristine appearance. Ugh, she inwardly groaned. There was the reminder of why she was here— vocal training. And from a trainee, whom she was currently observing at the moment ("spying on" sounded too suspicious to her, so she couldn't fathom using it to describe what she was currently doing). Suji was a very independent albeit stubborn person. She had grown up naturally taking to a lot of things, and she succeeded in all endeavors in her life. So much that she grew up refusing to acknowledge her downfalls and weaknesses. Now that she had begun training to be an idol, she had to face her problem which was vocals. At first it didn't bother her, but now she felt insecure and less likely to succeed.
She remembered hearing this trainee's name at the side of her ear many times, whether it be while she was training, or in the cafeteria, or actively searching for a vocal trainer. Everyone she asked had suggested Jae Jung, claiming him to be very good at his vocal craft. "I sure hope so..." She had muttered to herself. And now she was watching him practice. She felt like a creep. How was she supposed to go about this? Should she just walk in? Or should she knock? Oh, she was not a particularly awkward person, but she felt the nerves in her stomach. She felt strange facing her weaknesses, and had no idea how to go about asking someone to be her vocal trainer. Ultimately, she decided to knock on the door. Her stiff fingers knocked softly, although she was unsure he had even heard it.
@★ Jeon Soyeon At the mention of a silver bracelet, Jaejung had actually started to look around the area of the piano for it. It could have fallen on the floor, been kicked underneath, or even into the body of the instrument. He stopped though when she clearly wasn't looking very hard for it. "Right," he nodded. "Maybe someone found it and took it to lost and found?" he offered in hopes that she would be reunited with the bracelet that he had no idea was completely made up. Before he realized it though, she was already out the door, saying her goodbyes. "Oh, uh yeah-" he said, raising his hand slowly to wave. When she was totally gone and the door shut with a soft click, he just sunk down onto the bench - a weight lifted from him as he could be embarrassed in peace. He lightly cursed and ruffled his hair with the waving hand, though a bit of confusion about that whole encounter still lingered. It was odd. Really really odd.
@★ Park Jae Jung Soyeon just nodded she head in understanding. Yes she could tell she wasnt really being listened too but she also knew better than to keep pushing. Social ques didnt come easily to her, but this one was quite obvious. She didn't want to ward off a possible connection. That and she had an absolute fear of being disliked or hated. Probably another thing she needs to work on before she should be able to debut.
Obviously she had to really continue on her lie in Hope's of not to embarrass herself more. "U-um my silver bracelet I had on two days ago. I took it off and laid it right on the piano. I forgot it, I'm sure it's gone by now.... " She said trailing off. "Oh well it wasnt important anyway" She said with a small smile and started walking to the door." I'll see you around!"
[So I have this idea that maybe she tries to keep up with him. Like ask how hes doing whenever she sees him around? But if you have any ideas that's great too. I just didnt think she would stay and pester him more haha]
@★ Jeon Soyeon Perhaps Jaejung should have been mad at the girl for sticking her nose where it didn't belong, but he couldn't really bring himself to. As she spoke, he lightly traced a black key with his finger, redirecting his attention like a child being scolded. She had a point, a point that he was very aware of, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to be hard on himself. If he could stop he would, but self-doubt wasn't exactly voluntary. So, no. He wasn't mad, but he couldn't just go along with her word either.
"You're right, thanks," he said simply, not really wanting to discuss the matter further. He put on a smile so she wouldn't feel bad for her slightly misguided advice and stood up. He was usually perfectly content with awkwardly sitting in a room with someone else, his social anxiety making him not the biggest fan of small talk and all that. However, this was different. He'd been caught in a vulnerable state and he wanted to be alone with his embarrassment. He would have packed up and walked away if it wasn't so rude. "Anyway, what are you looking for? Maybe I can help."
@★ Park Jae Jung Soyeon just nodded her head and started looking around. She was panicking a bit thinking about how she can get out of this. However his response caught her attention. "Well you're not far off, You sound pretty good if you ask me. You shouldn't be so hard on yourself...." She trails off not really wanting to push any boundaries, besides she doesn't really him all to well and he probably wouldn't even listen to her in the first place. "I mean I just don't think it's healthy for you. You're obviously an amazing vocalist and bringing yourself down because you think you need to live up to your parents expectations is only going to tear you down." The words kept falling out of she couldn't seem to stop herself.
Quickly Soyeon tried to pretend she was looking around the room looking for whatever she was looking for. She had to come up with an excuse as to what she was looking for and quick. However her mind was racing with thoughts about how awful she's handling the situation that she put on herself. Part of the reason why she thinks she hasn't debut yet was that she was just so awkward around people. Idols should be charismatic right? Weather she was right about this or not that's where her head was.
@★ Jeon Soyeon He hadn't really heard clear in the midst of his pity party so when the stranger's voice spoke up, Jaejung jumped nearly a mile out of his skin and got to his feet, knocking the piano bench over with a loud wooden clunk. "No, it's fine- it's a community room, I don't own this place. Just - feel free grab whatever it is," he said almost like a waterfall, half stumbling over his words while trying to erect the bench. In the midst of scrambling to pick the seating surface back up, her words registered in his mind and his brows furrowed. The pitch? It wasn't the pitch, he knew pitch.
"It's not the pitch," he responded, sitting back down. The problem was somewhere in the melody - the concession of notes that didn't quite fit together properly. He just had to keep at it, doing different combinations until one worked. He got so lost in thinking about what changes actually needed to be made and the fact that she'd probably seen him have that stupid episode that he momentarily forgot that the girl was there. Then, seemingly remembering his manners, he added, "Thanks though. What...uh, what were you looking for? Maybe I can help find it?" If she could get what she needed and go, he could forget his embarrassment and get back to work. Win win.
@★ Park Jae Jung Okay maybe sneaking up on someone wasn't the best choice. But Soyeon was competently entranced by the sound of her fellow trainee's voice. It all started when she was just finishing practicing her own vocals she was about to head out when she heard someone come in. She quickly ducked behind a piano in the back to cover herself. Most normal people would just walk on by but social interactions have never been Soyeon's strong suit. Being home schooled her whole life if probably the biggest factor as to why she acts the way she does.
Although ducking behind a Piano listening to a person she knows of but not so much knowing who he was as a person was probably one of the weirder things she's done. Soyeon did realize who the other trainee was pretty soon after seeing him. His parents are well known in their industry, and although his singing only a tad off it was still beautiful in her mind as well as worthy of praise. He obviously worked hard and took much pride in his work anyone should be able to able to find admiration for that.
When the Jaejung stopped singing and practically started throwing a temper tantrum for lack of a better word, Soyeon debated in her head. Maybe she should just try and sneak out? Well at the same time she would hate someone to beat up on themselves for no good reason. She knows she would want someone to give her words of encouragement if the roles were flipped. So slowly the girl rose to her feet and cleared not really wanting to scare him. "Um... your pitch is too high." She tried to say but soon regretted it, maybe he didn't need advice and just maybe she should go. Her thoughts began to race as she lowered her head. "Sorry I just... um... left something here I'm..."
@★ Jeon Soyeon Slow, tentative notes echoed throughout the mostly empty studio as Jaejung worked on his latest composition. Every few notes, the dark haired boy would stop playing to scribble things out, erase others. He was constantly adding to and changing the comoosition, never satisfied with the way the notes came together - or didn't, rather. That was the problem. This wasn't coming together. Nothing was coming together! He just couldn't get this stupid song to work! His mom and dad always made entire film scores look so easy and here he was, struggling for weeks to make a stupid 3 minute song.
He ran a frustrated hand through the hair that annoyingly tickled his forehead - everything seemed annoying when you weren't making breakthroughs: hair, the way your sleeve wasn't rolled up quite right, the hum of the aircon within the walls, the bird just outside the window - everything. After a moment of just staring blankly, Jaejung out a breath and decided to try again. One more try. He shook out his wrists while getting another look at the marked up sheet music in front of him, actually readin through it this time. One more try. He started off smoothly - the song actually wasn't that bad! A small smile grew on his face until he got to a point where it just didn't sound quite right and the smile instantly dropped into a frown.
With a frustrated groan, he let his head fall down onto the piano - gentle enough to not harm the ivory but hard enough to get out a few notes, hurt his head, and send his pencil rolling to the floor. It rolled a little over halfway to the door and he couldn't be bothered to retrieve it. Instead, he brought both hands up to his head, pulling roughly on the strands with a fed up grunt. "Yah, Park Jaejung..." he muttered to himself after a few moments. "Whose son even are you- Aish.."
