Once the class had settled down Catherine smiled and greeted them all "Good afternoon, mg name is Catherine Felton. I will be your creative writing teacher this year." She wrote her name on the board and looked around "has anyone here done any writing before? It can be writing of any kind like a letter, a poem, a diary entry, a blog, a short story or maybe even a novel?" A few people put their hands up and Catherine smiled "Good its always good to see people writing no matter what it is they are writing because in this way we are subconsciously building up a skill that allows us to write." She looked at some confused faces and smiled "for example, lets say you write a letter, you are learning the skills you need to give accurate reports on something that happened to you. If you write poetry you are finding a way to express emotions creatively. If you write a diary perhaps you use both of these techniques in giving yourself expression and reporting events. And anyone who likes to use their imagination and create stories also use these skills to out things together in ways that make sense." Her smile faded a little as she got more serious yet her expression remained friendly and inviting "throughout this course we will do exercises to hone in all of these skills. And in our second semester you will each put together a portfolio of your work. This portfolio is to be filled with either poems, stories or articles, or you can have a little of each style. This I am going to allow you to decide because a writer must be able to stand by their work in order to make it shine."
@Seon Yein {Student Teacher} Catherine was lost in her work, papers on the desk in front of her, her laptop open to the right side of the papers, which she was currently typing on as she reached over the papers. Humming to herself as she continued work she barely even heard the young man speak, it was in fact the small draft from the door that made her look up. "Oh! Hello, you must be Seon Yein?" She asked as she stood up and walked over to greet him, "Please do come in and have a seat."
@Catherine Felton {Teacher} Yein stared intently at the piece of paper he was gripping and slowly stopped his tracks in front of the room. He checked the room number twice, making sure not to make any mistake on his first day. Just as when he was getting used to the tasks at his department, he had to do other tasks at other departments too- something that he was willing but nervous to do. He was too afraid of making mistakes and he was well aware how prone he was of committing one whenever he would get too nervous. Gulping down, he forced the corner of his lips into a smile, wanting to make himself look more presentable before knocking on the door gently- too gently that it probably did not make a sound but he was too lost in his thoughts to notice that. After hearing no response, he turned the door knob and opened the door, peeking inside the room. "Excuse me, is anyone here?"
@Catherine Felton {Teacher} Normally she wouldn't let anyone else pay for her, but she was low on funds this month since she had a limit on what she could take from the hush fund and she'd been spending her allowance on Hyuna and her goddaughter. "Thank you." She told her about how her only family was Godfrey, her godfather since her dad and brothers had abandoned her just like her mom. Over the summer she'd danced and watched old movies and read. She had no reason to leave the house.
Catherine sat behind her desk waiting for her class to take their seats. She understood some people were excites so she allowed a few minutes before atanding up "good morning ladies and gentlemen and welxome to creative writing. My name is Dr Catherine Felton and yes before anyone asks I am Dr Tom Feltons wife. My email is written on the board please do it down. If you need to get in contact with me feel free to.do.so at anytime. however I am away from my emails every weekend starting at 2pm Friday and ending at 8am Monday, this is an agreemwnt I have with my husband so that we can actually see each other at the weekends." She moved to sit on her desk and waited whole people took down her email. "No who can tell me a bit about creative writing? What bout why you write?" She looked around for anyone who offered an answer
@Kwon Bo-ah {Senior} Catherine chuckled grabbing her coat "come on then. My treat" she walked out with the young woman by her side and asked about the usual things such as how her family are how her summer was etc
@Catherine Felton {Teacher} With a nod, she agreed to do just that. Catherine had always been a good friend to her and it made her a great mentor. "Thanks again. I appreciate it." She smiled warmly. "I don't drink coffee, but I could sure use some tea." The coffee shop had both so it would work.
@Kwon Bo-ah {Senior} Smiling Catherine nodded. It was exactly what she had expected of the young woman. "No problem, just let me know what you need" she relaxed against the desk and asked "wanna grab a coffee before the next class?"
@Catherine Felton {Teacher} Sighing, the girl moved her bag further up on her shoulder. "I guess not, but you know how I feel about that." Having pretty much raised herself, Boa never expected help and rarely accepted it. If it got bad enough, she'd ask for it, but she didn't foresee that happening. "I'm sure he is, but I will be fine."
@Kwon Bo-ah {Senior} Catherine smiled "is it special treatment if he treats the whole class that way?" She patted Boa on the shoulder and nodded "but I understand. If it gets too hard come to me ok. Tom is a very reasonable man, otherwise I wouldnt have married him"
@Catherine Felton {Teacher} Boa put the paper with her mentor's information into her bag. "Thank you. I promise not to bother you much." She didn't like to be a burden from other people. Her problems were her own and she had always dealt with them on her own. Maybe not fully, but enough. "No. I don't need special treatment. I'll get through it." She didn't mention that she'd already began reading it. "Thank you though." She smiled, happy to have this woman back in her life. Maybe Godfrey would let her spend a few nights with him, so she could feel love instead of fear. He would protect her.
@Kwon Bo-ah {Senior} Catherine gave the girl her number and email smiling. "I am happy to be there for you whenever you need me." She frowned a little "do you want help with Dracula? I can talk to Tom. I know how that book affected you" she smiled "he won't change the book but he may take less time on it to lessen the discomfort"
@Catherine Felton {Teacher} Hearing the offer, Boa was pretty excited. "I would like that. I miss you challenging me and to be honest, school is a bore now. I have to force myself to pay attention and well, I'm tired. Other than dance and cheer I don't look forward to much. I love your husband's class though." She grinned, because Catherine of all people would know how she loved Shakespeare. She also knew how afraid of Dracula she was, but that was something she'd have to deal with on her own. She didn't want special treatment. "Yes. He did." It was great to see the woman so happy. It just reminded her how she was still pretty much alone, but it was her own fault.
@Kwon Bo-ah {Senior} Catherine smiled warmly "I am quite happy to meet with you any time Boa. I was your mentor while I studied in collegeand I can still be if you want me too." She wanted to hug the girl but they were on school property and in the middle of school hours. "Why dont I give you my number and email and you can message me anytime. Though I am sure Tom told you emails are not checked from Friday afternoon to Monday morning"
@Catherine Felton {Teacher} Boa grinned. "I don't think I'll be able to fit that into my schedule since I'm limited to two classes here until graduation, but I would love to get together and catch up with you. If it's not inappropriate I mean." Catherine was quite a bit older than her after all and a teacher. "Yes. I have his class! I see why you fell for him. He's very nice. And congratulations on the job and your marriage." Catherine was one of the only people that knew she didn't think she'd ever get married, mainly because she was too focused on learning and dancing, but also because she felt she'd been abandoned enough for one life.
@Kwon Bo-ah {Senior} Catherine chuckled softly "yes actually I am. I teach creative writing." She smiled and showed the wedding ring on her finger "yes indeed. Remember the boyfriend I mentioned, Tom? Well he found the courage to ask and we've been very happily married for about 5 years now." She smiled "he's actually the English Literature professor here"
@Catherine Felton {Teacher} Walking into the room, Boa smiled in return. "I'm doing well. How are you? Are you a professor now?" She knew the woman has been studying creative writing, but she didn't know she was now teaching it. It had been years since she'd seen her old tutor. "I am. Are you married now?" Her maiden wasn't Felton, but that's what it said on the board behind her.
@Kwon Bo-ah {Senior} Catherine looked up from the paper she was writing when she heard someone call her. Smiling she saved the paper and closed the laptop "Boa? How are you?" She said getting up and leaning against her desk as she looked at the young woman. "You look well."
@Catherine Felton {Teacher} It had been a while since she'd felt herself smile so much, but it had been a great day already. She was fairly sure she was going to love her literature class and then she'd gotten to spend time with her big brother figure. It was nice. He had included her in lunch with his friends and they'd all gotten along well. Now she could go back to school and spend time with her bestie and maybe even get some more choreography for cheerleading done. As she walked down the hallway to the front of the school, she glanced in each classroom. Most were still in session, but she pasted one that was empty save for the professor. Having almost walked past, she halted. "Ms. Catherine?"
Hi, I saw on the faceclaim list that Park Jimin is being used, but I didn't see him in the masterlist or any of the character profiles. If he's available, can I please ask to A&R him? Thank you!
I am really sorry but I have to go. Life has gotten really busy and I just won't be around enough and its not fair to leave you all hanging.
Thanks for the wonderful time
