@dongmin l。ᵉᵘⁿʷᵒ.ᵒ-ᶜ Yoojung peered around trying to find the boy biting her lower lip nervously as she hummed to herself. When she spotted him she carefully walked up behind him tapping his shoulder softly as her heart raced nervously against here chest since she had been the one to make a bold move and ask him on the "date" at least she thought it was a date but being the nervous wreck she was , she wouldn't dare ask him. "Eunwoo?" her soft voice came out asking politely.
@shannon w。ˡᵘᵐⁱⁿᵒᵘˢᶜᵃᵗ Junhui started out his work in the Flower Shop by watering the flower that were on display right outside the shop itself as per usual. He doesn't need any watering container in order to do his job, just a flick of his wrist and he was able to do so, it was one of his advantages in being a siren after all. Having the ability to manipulate water made his job easy enough, though he doesn't she anything difficult about it in the first place considering he was placed in his comfort zone, flowers surrounding him and that's what he loved about his part-time job.
While he was busy arranging flowers by the corner, his mind drifted out for a bit, his focus fading away as sudden thoughts and memories flooded through, a frown now decorating his countenance due to his mind playing back unpleasant memories at a random moment. He ought it to be a normal phenomenon but it doesn't mean he likes it, not at all since it ruins his mood most of the times. Being quite preoccupied, he didn't registered the chimes that rang as a customer went inside, only being able to be pulled back to reality when he heard a voice from behind, making him turn around whilst having flowers being held by him. By the time he was able to turn around and face the customer, he stood there as if he was frozen in time, eyes turning wide like saucers in shock.
'No it can't be... Shannon?' He thought before snapping himself out from it. "I... I apologize for that." He said, talking about the way he reacted but then again, he can't help it, she looked very familiar, too familiar to be precise. "I was rather... Very much preoccupied just now. Anyways, how may I help you? Are you looking for flowers to be given to someone or maybe for decorations and arrangements?" Junhui was quick to act as if nothing had happened but he couldn't shake the feeling inside of him. Is this really her? Or was it just someone who looks too much like her? But what if it was her? How? And where she had gone to? Why doesn't she recognize him at all? He's maybe just overanalyzing this, there was no way this girl was his friend that had been missing and was reported to be dead a few months ago but he knew that he was thoroughly hoping that it was really her. He did missed her after all.
@jisoo h。ᵈᵉˢᵗⁱⁿᵉᵈ "That sounds interesting, I wish you good luck in doing so." Junhui responded, not being so sure what to actually respond to that but he guesses his reply was enough. "Oh? Well it's just a few since some are just additional depending on what kind of plants, vegetables, fruits and flowers you're going to cultivate in your garden. In the do's, as a first timer, I suppose? Preparing the soil is a must as well as figuring out on what is the soil's pH balance, some bulbs or plants won't survive if it's at the right amount, you can either do it by yourself or maybe ask for professional but that costs a fortune so I suggest doing it yourself and it'll be great if you know someone who knows how to do it. If you want to try adjusting the soil's pH balance you might as well ad some sulfur or limestone around, if I remember well? Also add mulch like decaying leaves, barks and maybe composts to insulate the soil, it regulates the soil's temperature by then as well as serves as additional nutrients for the plants. Lastly but most importantly, water a lot but not too much for the plants to drown." He softly chuckled at his last sentence before continuing:
"As for the don'ts, you have to put plants and bulbs in the right places or else, they'll die. Like some plants need full on sunlight, some needs partial and some needs to be put on shades, you it's a lot of researching to do. Never use herbicides and pesticides on newly sprouted or if they're just seeds because it'll postpone their growth, sure it's good to prevent weeds but don't make young plants suffer from it too. Lastly, don't overwork the soil and also don't work on wet soil, it'll ruin the structure and it's how soil retain water and other nutrients. For wet soil, let it dry first." Junhui finally managed to tell the basic dos and don't that the other male should have in mind though he was sure he messed up a bit or that he delivered it in a way that Jisoo won't understand some of what he said (he just thinks so). There are times where the siren wants to have a garden of his own but he can't since he doesn't own the land in front of his apartment and also, his roommate was allergic to flowers (specifically pollen) so he decided that maybe on some other times he can have a garden of his own if ever he afforded his own land and home.
Another apology almost slipped off his brims but stopped himself, knowing it's ironic how Jisoo just told him to not apologize then he'll apologize for apologizing, it's just how this siren is. "They really do and thanks..." He gave him a small yet genuine smile, flowers were somehow one of Junhui's remainders of his past life, it's a reason untold but it was true. Beside the memory of him falling off the waters and also the song of his broken heart that he sings each night, he vividly remembers how his past self was into flowers, it's only one memory but he cherishes it to his heart and that memory is where his mother (he assumes) thought him the meanings of each flowers that was in their garden. That memory alone makes him both happy and sad, happy since it's an obvious happy memory, sad because he knows his mother is long gone by now, but it wasn't the time to think about it so he pushes it off to the back of his mind.
Junhui listened as Jisoo spoke out his reply, he understood what he meant on each of his words. "I see then, well I mean it depends? I'm not that of an expert but you do your own destiny, I'm not one to actually uh believe on destinies or like duties because you're this and that, it honestly depends on you since well, I'm a siren and most people would assume sirens sings to lure and eat people or that my kind is dangerous that some avoids us but I guess my case is just far off from yours since I'm more what you call a defect but back to you, it honestly depends on you. I'm sure you won't be like your father someday, you just need to continue on in fighting against it." He talked yet again of being quite unsure of what he had just said, sometimes he talks right away without processing his own words so it just comes off, unrelevant or something like that. "I didn't know what I was saying there but uh I hope you get my point." He gave the other a shy smile.
@jisoo h。ᵈᵉˢᵗⁱⁿᵉᵈ He listened to the other much attentively, head nodding as a way to show that he was listening. "True, it might be poisonous for all we know though I don't think it's that case since it was used before, not medically but rather in a culinary way." Junhui recollects his memories from 7 years ago or much longer, remembering how the woman used the flowers petals much like a seasoning to her cooking and drank the tea that was made purely from its dried up petals (he only knew that tea comes from the camellia sinensis plant) that he knew to himself that he'll only get to taste them on the rarest of occasions much like from several years ago, though it was odd how the flower was in multiple use, he wonders if it can be turned into a perfume because it has such an intoxicating scent or even a type of medicine since she once told him about the many benefits that he'll get once the petals are consumed.
"Oh, I won't don't worry." Junhui gave Jisoo a sincere and reassuring smile, honestly, why would he do such thing? He actually got more weird and out of this world questions coming from his friends especially when drunk. Blinking a few times before shaking his head, he responded, "Not really, as I've observed about them, they were perfectly fine. Why? Does it suppose to have such effect on people?" He tilted his head to the side, curiosity painted his countenance as he waits for the answer. Did anything happen to the female siren and him when they've encountered the flower? He doesn't think so.
The sudden question caught the young siren off guard, surprised by it since not much people he had in his lifetime on the surface, managed to ask about such simple thing. "I'm just fond of flowers that's all." He showed Jisoo a soft smile, "Whenever I see one, I feel happy and being by this place to which I work at, makes me feel happy and at ease. Flowers are actually my main reason in going to the surface, you wouldn't see such beauty back in the sea though it's wonderful there. Just... Lonely." He didn't realized that he was now frowning, not to mention that he just rambled out such personal information which made him slightly embarrassed when in realization. "Oh... Uh sorry for rambling." Letting out a soft laugh while rubbing his nape in a sheepish matter.
"How about you though? Uh how did you come to work at the apothecary?" He shot the question back to him, it was fair to do so, right? The brunet is always up in learning new stuff each and everyday, make it something in general or about someone.
@jisoo h。ᵈᵉˢᵗⁱⁿᵉᵈ "Take your time." Junhui said, he was patient enough to wait even if Jisoo would take long, almost chuckling from the other's slight clumsiness, almost dropping his phone. The florist tilted his head while squinting at the phone screen, the flower seems to be very familiar to him which made him dig through his mind to remember where was the last time he saw it. A memory of him being by the shore was recalled, it was his first time going on land, walking as well which made him fall for many times since he wasn't sure how to use such new appendages which are his legs but the female siren who was very much accustomed in using such limbs helped him through, and near the beach was a forest filled with all kinds of plants as well as flowers, the woman showed him around since he knew that the male siren has a thing for flowers, it was a daily topic they talk about whenever they encountered each other.
「I'll show something, follow me Junhui.」
「Oh, okay.」
He was lead to a tree and inside the hollowed trunk was a flower similar to the one in Jisoo's phone screen. Having two different petal shapes and even colors, the woman told him that it was a hybrid flower that was rare to be spotted that it was yet to be named.
「It has no name yet? Is it possible to name it by yourself?」
「Possible but I'll just let some expert found it around and give it a new name.」
「New name? You already named it?」
「Yep!」
「What is it then?」
「Geminia, which means double in latin.」
"Well, I've seen such flower before. It's a rare one, only pops out in random selected places and it only chooses a place where it can be hidden, most likely inside a hollowed trunk like how that one is. Someone told me before that it has no name, well not sure if it already has one since from all the botany books I've read while studying the course, it was never put on at any, making it as an undiscovered specie, a new kind perhaps? And it seems to resemble a bit of how narcissus flower drifts are that could have been cross-bred with another flower during pollination." He said, hoping it kinda helped the other for a bit. "Is there any purpose on why you would like to know all about this flower?" He was asking since he was curious, maybe the other is going to make a medicine out of it? After all, he works by the apothecary as he mentioned earlier.
[it's fine dw about it and oh no i wouldn't mind much it it turns out long or short mine turns out long uh this way as you could see, just memory scraps or something.]
@yibo w。ʷ-ʸˣᵇᵒ The kind gesture left Yeeun speechless for a moment, her eyes trained onto a random spot behind Yibo's shoulder. She couldn't bring herself to look him in the eye; the feeling would be too overwhelming if she did. "This is too generous of you, but I would really like to thank you for this. I feel like I am indebted to you now," she said so softly that she hoped he would hear her. "Ah, yes. I promise you that." Nodding her head, she took a step back for the young man to have space to stand near her. The corner of her lips quirked up, just the slightest, in amusement at his excitement. It was a similar trait her husband had. "I — I would like that. I think I'll come around some other time too. I didn't know we had a flower shop here — but now that I know, I'd like to visit sometimes." She nodded meekly, joining her hands together.
@jisoo h。ᵈᵉˢᵗⁱⁿᵉᵈ It wasn't much of a productive day for Junhui, customers barely goes to the flower shop on this particular day. All he had done was water the plants with the use of his water manipulating ability as well as do some errands that his boss made him do and nothing more. To some, it may be great that there was nothing to do at work but to him, it was rather... Boring when he had nothing to do, he's a very active fellow who likes doing some kind of activity every now and then, much like a puppy who needs to run and play all day, having too much energy in his system.
A sigh left his lips as he was sitting by the counter, his arms tucked and placed on the counter top while his chin was resting on top of them. Eyes that were as blue as the sky above and ocean below stared at the shop's door, hoping that a customer would arrive since he was aching to at least do something, /anything/ perhaps. But minutes passes by and no one came by the shop, so with a frown and another sigh emitting pass his brims he stood up and decided to just rearrange the flowers instead, even though they were already really organized, he decided to get it /more/ organized if possible.
While doing some 'work', Junhui heard how the soft mellifluous tune of the chimes resonating by, indicating a customer has entered the establishment which made the siren smile, turning around, he was faced with an unfamiliar face (he didn't knew that this man in front of him was someone he met in his past life back when he was a human being, but his memories were wiped out, there was no chance of having them back again).
"Oh, hello there Jisoo, I'm Junhui and welcome to the flower shop. And sure thing! Ask right away." He said with the smile still plastered on his visage. He hopes he gets to answer whatever question this man would ask him about, it's probably relating to flowers since why would he go inside a flower shop and ask something irrelevant towards him? But if so, he wouldn't mind, he's always up to give a helping hand towards anyone and anything.
[it looks great though-- dead this is what i meant by format shsbs]
@yibo w。ʷ-ʸˣᵇᵒ Tilting her head curiously, she silently watched him. Even the way he smiled was all too similar, and naturally it brought the smallest of smiles on her own lips. "It's alright. I wasn't upset. Just surprised is all...Mr. Wang Yibo," she shook her head in response, carefully pronouncing the new name. The petals of the flower tickled her cheekbone, a familiar tingling arising inside of her that she hadn't felt in too long. She had to remind herself, that he was not her husband no matter how eerie the resemblance was. "W-what? That's kind of you, but I must pay for them. I would feel guilty if I didn't," the spirit insisted, eyes widening as she did. "Ah, your mother is right. I will take care of these. You have my word."
@yibo w。ʷ-ʸˣᵇᵒ What an impression she must have made simply because she was unable to control her emotions. "Huh— yes, they actually were. You are very good at knowing these things," she nervously chuckled, looking down as he repositioned the vase. The more he spoke, the more she could feel her heart sinking. Why was he saying such things? Like he knew her — like her husband. "Thank you," she stammered, her face growing warm. Everything about his presence, his handsome appearance, even his voice reminded her of all those years ago. As soon as he looked away, Yeeun let her eyes linger on the male, dazed at how coincidental this entire situation was. She reclined from her reverie as soon as he set the familiar flowers in between both of them. "Yes, these are what I was looking for," she nodded, eyes brightening. With a confused hum, she looked up and tensed when she felt his hand tuck her hair back, the stem of the Fire Camellia nestled behind her ear. She could feel her eyes sting at the familiar gesture she hadn't experienced in centuries. "Who are you?" She asked without thinking. A part of her wanted to believe it was really him, but it wasn't possible. "U-uh, I'm so sorry. That sounded very rude. You don't have to answer," she said hurriedly, before nodding at his question.
@yibo w。ʷ-ʸˣᵇᵒ Leaning forward curiously, Yeeun caught sight of movement behind the counter and she waited patiently as the shopkeeper began to ascend. She smiled politely as soon as the young man stood up, only to have it falter. Her entire body froze in place, eyes widening and jaw slackening. It couldn't be. Why did he look so much like /him/? She took a hesitant step back, eyes still glued on the young shopkeeper in amazement. It was not possible. This was simply a coincidence that he looked like her husband.
Immediately, she looked down at her feet in embarrassment. How foolish she must look. He did not even know her and she was sure she didn't either, even if he did bear a strong resemblance to him. "A-ah, that's wonderful news. Yes, I was look—" she abruptly stopped upon hearing him speak, and it felt as if her heart sunk down to her stomach. How could he possibly know that? No one had ever mentioned the Fire Camellia to her . . . but her husband. "How did you know that?" She asked, so quickly that her arm jerked to the side, hitting the vase beside her. She quickly reached out to stop it from tipping over, glancing up at the male ruefully. "I'm sorry," she said nervously, her mind reeling with the sudden turn of events. The spirit could not think properly. There was no explanation for how he sounded so much like him. This had to be a cruel dream.
@yibo w。ʷ-ʸˣᵇᵒ Today was one of those days off Yeeun was fortunate enough to earn. Usually if she had no shifts to cover, she would be holed in her small house, sleeping the day away. But today, she had no desire to stay inside. It was a warm day and the cherry blossom trees were putting her in a much content mood. She didn't think she'd ever been in this part of the town though, and it had been a long time that she was living in Magnolia Springs. It was a bit embarrassing, having lived so long here but not even knowing much about the town itself. She did not have anyone to talk to much besides her boss and co-workers, but even they were not people she would be willing to connect with outside of work.
The spirit kept her hands clasped together in front of her, glancing wondrously one by one on the shops lined down the sidewalk. Her eyes lingered on the flower shop, and her legs buckled to a stop as she tried to pass by. The smell of fresh flowers and soil invaded her nose, bittersweet memories sinking down on her mind. Her husband had loved flowers. Especially Camellias. He would bring them back home from work, and then tuck them behind her ear. Yeeun smiled subconsciously, her lips tight and eyes moist. Quickly she blinked the incoming tears away. She did not mean to walk towards the door, nor did she mean to open it and step inside the small shop.
It wasn't a bright idea, but when did she ever listen to her conscience these days. Her eyes ran along the colorful displays of flowers, smiling gently at each of the small descriptions under them. It would do no good in keeping her emotions at bay, but Yeeun walked towards the counter anyways intending to look for the shopkeeper. "Excuse me?" She asked meekly, shifting her weight to one leg nervously. She could not see the face of the owner, but hurriedly asked her question anyways, not wanting to stutter over her words if she waited any longer. "Do you happen to have any Camellias?"
So uh hey guys. Would it be possible after I'm accepted at the new one to be reaccepted here long enough to transfer over my profile and stuff? If not, it's totally fine.
