@tyler y。ᵇᵃᵏᶦⁿᵍᵖᵒʷᵈᵉʳ alright so in this game we start out with seven cards *deals them* then we put four cards down here, and we play down from these numbers. and if you get a king it goes in the corners and we can then build down on those too.
@yewon k。ˢⁿᵒʷᶜˡᵒᵘᵈᵈʳᵉᵃᵐᵉʳ Solitaire? Yeah, that I have. Oh we can try that then. But I believe you will win /chuckles
Well, first round is a trial, okay? For me at least
@tyler y。ᵇᵃᵏᶦⁿᵍᵖᵒʷᵈᵉʳ it's really easy. humm have you played Solitaire before? this is more or less a multiplayer version of that.
basically we build cards gooing down from king to ace alternating colors. we start with 4 cards out and we can only build downwards. except for Kings, they can go in the corners. And if the top card in one stack would be the next playable card in another stack you can merge the two stacks and then have an open spot where you can put anything down, you can also build up when this happens as your technically putting the higher card in the open space then merging those stacks to create another open space. You draw one card each turn and can play as many cards as you have places to put them. first person to run out of cards wins.
@tyler y。ᵇᵃᵏᶦⁿᵍᵖᵒʷᵈᵉʳ yea, it's a lunch break so I got time. and yea I did finished the work I got to do. so unless they send me a message or something more I'm as good as done for the day. *nods* anyways, have you played Kings in the corner? it's an easy but still fun card game.
@yewon k。ˢⁿᵒʷᶜˡᵒᵘᵈᵈʳᵉᵃᵐᵉʳ Games? I'd settle with a card game, but you can chose whatever you like.
/smiles and orders a vegan frappuccino
Sure, there's fine /nods and starts taking off my jacket, hanging it over the back rest of the chair before sitting down.
You're on your break then, or you've finished work already?
@tyler y。ᵇᵃᵏᶦⁿᵍᵖᵒʷᵈᵉʳ *I smile and head in ordering apple cider for myself and finding us a table* hows this table? I brought a few games as I wasn't sure which you wanted to do
@tyler y。ᵇᵃᵏᶦⁿᵍᵖᵒʷᵈᵉʳ *smiles and waves to him* hey thanks *Takes the bag and looks in* it's still nice it's the thought that counts and i bet these will be tasty.. so lets go get a drink, enjoy the snacks and have some fun.
@yewon k。ˢⁿᵒʷᶜˡᵒᵘᵈᵈʳᵉᵃᵐᵉʳ /rides my bike down to the spot, parking at the bicycle stand and locks it there before meeting Yewon by the door
Hey, Happy Birthday again
/holds up a gift bag with a few pastries from his father's bakery as a birthday gift
It's not much, but on a short notice, that's all I could do.
@ʰ ¹¹²⁴ seunghee h。ˢᵉˡᵏʰᵉᵉ "The Big Bad Wolf, hm? I'm big, but I don't know if I'm bad, Seunghee. Yes, I agree with you. I don't understand why people aim to be perfect anyway. No one is perfect, so by aiming to be perfect, you're just becoming someone fake. I despise fake people. I'd rather own up to my mistakes and learn from them, rather than deny that I'm ever wrong since everyone knows that it's impossible to be right all of the time." Chanyeol replied. "It can. People wonder why internet bullying is super serious, and it's like, why can't you see that it's because when you can hide behind a screen, you can be as cruel as you want? I might keep my children away from cell phones and social media until they're at least ten or eleven. There's no need for it before then, except if it's to call me during an emergency." He'd seen so many parents giving their children access to phones and other forms of technology at such a young age, only to find out that they were cyberbullied and exposed to things that should be avoided by kids. "Oh- I don't know if that's the /only/ reason, but I do enjoy living life in the moment. I can imagine that it would be difficult to not forgive a child, but...either way, he shouldn't have kicked me! I mean, we were out in the open and his parents were right there. It was obvious that I didn't have any intentions other than simply giving him my ice cream. Mhm! Not to mention, they're criminals of all different kinds of ages, too. I've probably arrested someone as young as thirteen and as old as eighty-nine." The werewolf almost looked offended when she challenged his statement. "No, I don't think you'll be able to! I'm a natural predator, remember? I have to have lightning reflexes to catch prey. So, ha!" He then nodded in agreement. "That's true, we do focus a lot on the things that we did wrong, especially when we may 'fail', but rarely do we focus on the good things that we do right. I wonder why that is, though..."
@chanyeol p。ʳᵉᵃˡ-ᵖᶜʸ "Hehe, good thing I didn't. Don't want to get lectured by the Big Bad Wolf! Hm, I think perfection is /way/ overrated. Having fears and flaws help shape who you are now and conquering them can shape who you will become. But if that doesn't happen, that's okay because we all grow at different rates," she said with conviction. "And you're welcome! I get your hesitancy since I'm the same way. The internet can be overly harsh sometimes. But you've got a really good approach. Music is such an amazing but complex art form. I'm still learning and I teach it!" She grinned back at him, happy to see that he shared a similar mentality to hers. “Oh, is that why you look so young for your age? Because you always joking around? If that’s the case, I’m going to look like a baby forever then. Being a goofball is the best! We, goofballs,” she gestured towards herself and the werewolf sitting in front of her, “have more fun! Yeah, I’m glad too. I’m not even exaggerating but I love everyone here.” She chuckles and shrugs. “Yeah, children can be little devils but I always end up forgiving them for their mischievous ways. From what you’ve described the Disney incident, maybe that kid was just practicing ‘Stranger Danger’? Most kids don’t kick strangers randomly if that’s any consolation. Yeah, I don’t envy your job at all. I’m sure you the people you deal with range from obnoxious to downright dangerous!” She handed her menu to the waiter, quickly thanking them. When the selkie looked back at her friend, she laughed. “Wah, you don’t think I’ll be able to? It only takes one hand to snatch a plate. I professionally play piano, Chanyeol. These fingers are fast!” She wiggles her webbed fingers to emphasize her point. “That’s okay. We’re all our own worst critic. While everyone else is complimenting our work, we’re only able to focus on its flaws. Alrighty, it’s a deal! A song for a song.”
@seunghee h。ˢᵉˡᵏʰᵉᵉ "I would've scolded you if you would've put yourself down like that anyway, so it's a good thing you didn't end up saying it. Having fears and flaws are good? I don't know if I've ever heard of that before. Most people strive to be fearless or flawless...Of course, no one is perfect, but it still seems like that's a big deal for many others. Aha, why thank you. I'm a bit hesitant to share my music with too many people, but holding small events or posting a video or two in the chat is fine. I just...I dunno, I want to try to remain as humble as possible because I know I have much to learn yet." The wolf greatly appreciated how she was hyping him up, causing a shy grin to form on his lips. "I could never be too serious for too long. I personally think that makes you age more and become such a close-minded person. That's why I want to keep the mentality that there's nothing wrong with being a goofball. Mhm, exactly! I'm glad we're graced with such comical citizens here in Magnolia." He said, leaning back in his seat. "I need more experience with children. I find them to be cute but after the whole incident in Disney, I'm also aware of how mischievous they can be. Tsk- I bet they are. Luckily, my job puts me around a plethora of people, so it's not just strictly dealing with parents, but the ones I've come into contact with...yikes." After he handed over his menu and the waiter left them alone, Chanyeol gave his 'date' his full attention again. "Oh, pfft. You won't be able to get your hands on them all to be able to eat every single one!" He chuckled. "Maybe? I'm very hard on myself with 'grading' my work. You're more than welcome to listen to anything you want, but in turn, I want to be able to listen to your music, too."
@chanyeol p。ʳᵉᵃˡ-ᵖᶜʸ "Trust me, I won't!" Seunghee snorted. "Well, you're not alone in terms of lacking in the self-confidence department. I was about to joke that I'd be in the negatives on the handsome scale but I stopped myself since being self-deprecating all the time can get old. But yeah, having fears and flaws is a good thing! Alright, Chanyeol, I'll make sure you become famous for the right reason: your music. I'm sure if you'd upload your music online, you'd become so popular. Like Justin Beiber who? Shawn Mendes what? Naw, it's all about Park Chanyeol!" She said enthusiastically, hoping it'd show that she agreed with him. "That's good! You know what they say: All work and no play makes Chanyeol a dull wolfboy~ Yeah, the chat is so wild but I love it! It makes me laugh too especially after a stressful day." She sent him a grateful smile but shook her head. "Naw, the children are so lovely, even the 'bratty' ones end up warming up to me. Though it's true, the parents can be such nightmares! I appreciate the thanks. I don't get that enough from the helicopter parents." Her eyes widened at his order. That was a lot of food. "Ooh, I love them! I'll try my best to not eat all of them," she snickered. "Well, I'm sure the good songs outweigh the bad ones! With time comes more experience after all. I can't wait to listen! I haven't composed a lot of songs but there are a couple I'm really proud of."
"And the 'Park Chanyeol' would be the highest value on the handsome scale. Don't you forget that, Seunghee!" The werewolf winked. "Ah...I sometimes lack in the self-confidence department - obviously excluding the 'no filter and decent body' part. Like, yeah, I seem like an 'I don't give a ' kind of guy, but even I have fears and flaws and things that...I don't know...things that I worry about constantly. Tsk- Seunghee, I appreciate that, however, I'm not sure that being some internet sensation is something I'm interested in. What about live performances and music? I'd love to hear fans and admirers screaming my name and being there because they /like/ the songs, not just because I'm the new trend." He said but silently wondered if he was stupid for thinking such things. "I enjoy making people smile and cracking jokes. Obviously, during work, though, I have to be serious. So, logging on and seeing what crazy antics people are up to in the chat make up for that. Gives me some laughs, y'know?" Chanyeol nodded his head slowly at her response. Though he didn't say anything verbally in reply to that, he was grateful that she understood. "I imagine that it's tough being a teacher. Not only do you have to deal with the children themselves, but you also have to deal with their parents who can be utter nightmares. So, kudos to you for sticking it out!" Once the waiter looked to him, notepad in hand, the werewolf snagged an order of mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and a set of prime ribs with a side of green beans for his main dish. "I hope you like mozzarella sticks! I got them for both of us to split. But to answer your question from earlier, yes...I've composed quite a bit of songs over my entire lifetime. Some turned out better than others."
Seunghee playfully rolled her eyes at him. "Sure they would~ They'd be like 'On the handsome scale of one to ten, make me a 'Park Chanyeol' please," she joked. "Yeah, over-confidence isn't a good look but nothing wrong with having a lot of self-confidence! It's good that you have that. Not many people do nowadays, myself included. Hey, you never know! The internet has magical powers to make anyone a star!" She gave him a warm smile. "You're welcome! I just call it like I see it. Considering how friendly and nice you are online and in-person, I'm sure you carry that attitude when you're at work." Hearing his experience about immortality and eternal youth definitely gave her some perspective. She could tell he went through a lot over the number of years. "Yeah, that doesn't seem easy at all. It's not like you can tell them the truth since you don't they'll react to the idea of supernatural beings existing. I get that part completely." She was quiet for a moment, lost in her own thoughts. She mentally shook herself out of it. "That's really sweet of you to say, Chanyeol. Wish the parents of my students could understand that," she griped. She was about to say more when the waiter came by. After looking back at the menu one last time, she returned the smile to the waiter and ordered the fish and chips.
@seunghee h。ˢᵉˡᵏʰᵉᵉ () you're perfectly fine! i've been slow with my replies as well^^
Chanyeol pressed a hand over his heart, an obnoxious scoff sounding. "I beg your pardon, but I'm sure /lots/ of people would pay to be as handsome as I am." He said before chuckling at his own poor acting skills. "I'm kidding as well. Even though I have no filter and I'm proud of my body and such...I'm not cocky to the point of being overly confident. Because that's not a good look for anyone. Mm, it's a nice thought to have, but I doubt I'd make it big from something like that." The compliment she gave him caused a warmth to blossom in his chest. "Oh, thank you very much! I'd like to think I'm a fair policeman, /and/ I'd also like to think I'm nice." Sure, he could see her reasoning for why someone would want to retain a youthful appearance, and most people tended to think like that, too, but Chanyeol had both witnessed it firsthand and heard about instances where that wasn't ideal. "If you never seem to age, people will eventually grow suspicious. Explaining that when you're questioned about it isn't always the easiest." The wolf folded his lips in to keep from allowing the amusement he was feeling to show on his face when she blushed at what he'd said. "I would count that, Seunghee. Not everyone can teach, let alone teach music! But I completely relate. It's helped in many ways than one..." Just then, the waiter came to their table with a polite smile, asking what they'd like to order. Chanyeol motioned to the woman across from him, urging her to go first while making sure in the back of his mind that he'd answer her question as soon as they were done telling the waiter their food selections.
@chanyeol p。ʳᵉᵃˡ-ᵖᶜʸ [] sorry for such a late reply ;w; if you wanna drop this, i understand but i'd love to continue <3
Seunghee just shook her head. “Being undeniable handsome? Don’t you want to be a little more realistic?” She giggled, hoping that he knew she was joking. “I’m kidding! But honestly, there’s nothing wrong with unrelated viral success to launch your career. I’m sure there are artists out there who’ve done it.” She grimaced at the thought. “Yeah, not sure if I want to imagine what they tried to do. Well, at least I know you’re not a dirty cop! You’re way too nice to be like that.” She went back to looking at the menu, her mind taking note of the fish and chips. “Hm, not sure how looking young would be a curse. Like you’ll look hot forever and ever! But yeah, you don’t need to worry much. It’s nice that there’s a place like Magnolia where all different types of supernaturals can co-exist together!” She blushed, hiding her face with the menu. “Not sure if I’ve /really/ been in the music industry since I mainly just teach to children, but music has always been a huge part of my life. Not sure where I’d be without it, honestly…” She paused, “Um so, considering the length of time, have you created and recorded a lot of songs?”
@akay x。ᵏᶦⁿᵈˡᵉˢˢᵏᵃʸ Rolling his eyes, Hyunjin ignores the smug little look Akay is currently wearing in favor of peering through the front windows of the diner. They were now much less than a foot away from each other when Hyunjin stepped closer, eyebrows pinched together. "I developed this... I don't quite know /what/ you'd call it, a coping mechanism I guess, because of what I went through with my parents... I don't think I've told you about them yet. But I will, when we get back home." Chewing on his bottom lip, the human feels the corner of his lips curl up in a small smile. He looks down at his feet as a sudden shyness takes over. "Of course I like you, Akay… Of course I do."
@hyunjin h。ᵒⁿ-ᵃ-ʰᵉˡˡᵉᵛᵃᵗᵒʳ "Yup. And now I know, so it's too late to take it back." Akay chirped smugly with a laugh. "Mmm, I've eaten here a couple times, they have amazing food. You'll love it." He was still as Hyunjin approached him, eyebrows raised as he tried to convey in few words just how much Akay really had helped, and he understood that Hyunjin meant it, so he nodded respectfully. "You can tell me more about it at home, that's okay. I understand. And I'm glad I could do something to help you today then." He watched the humans face soften, and when he responded with that, his smile brightened, eyes crinkling at the sides. "You do? You like me, Hyunnie?" He asked, rubbing over his chest with one tattooed hand as if that could calm his pounding heart.
@akay x。ᵏᶦⁿᵈˡᵉˢˢᵏᵃʸ Groaning in response, Hyunjin lifts his hand to rub his forehead. "I just had to say something, didn't I? I just /had/ to say it." Following him blindly, he peers up at the diner curiously with slightly wide eyes. "This looks like a nice place, hyung- I smell the food from out here." Rubbing his stomach a bit, he hears it grumble in hunger by the smell of meat sizzling on grills in the kitchen out back. Hyunjin was about to walk into the entrance when he spots Akay stop in the corner of his eye. So he stops also and turns to face him, tilting his head to the side. "No, I mean it... I wouldn't have been able to go out on that stage had it not been for you. You see..." Pausing for a moment, he takes a deep breathe and closes his eyes. "Look, I... let's just say when I get like that, I get stuck in my own head. It's impossible to get me out. I'll.. I'll explain later, when we get home maybe, just not here- not where everyone can hear us. But /you/," stepping closer, Hyunjin reaches up and presses a finger into Akay's chest, "pulled me out of it before I could get stuck... You've been the only one capable of doing that." His eyes softened as they stared up into Akay's. Did he mean it the way Hyunjin hoped he meant it? Or was he... reading between the lines? Impossible, there's no possible way Akay could like him the same way he does. "Akay… I like you too. I really do."
@hyunjin h。ᵒⁿ-ᵃ-ʰᵉˡˡᵉᵛᵃᵗᵒʳ "Good. I won't hesitate to use the puppy dog eyes, but don't worry, I'll make sure you're well fed from now on. Fool me once, shame on me." Akay laughed a little, and pulled Hyunjin across the street with him, to the diner, where he knew they could get some good, quick food. He was pretty hungry too." Hearing the others gratitude, Akay blinked over at him quietly for a moment before smiling warmly. "Nah, you could have done it without me, but I'm glad you didn't have to, that I was there for you anyway. I'll be there at every single one to come too, but you'll only get more and more confident as you perform more and more and I'm really excited to see that happen." Coming to a stop just outside the diner when Hyunjin said that his happiness was coming from both dance and Akay, it made his chest go a bit tight with the implication of that. "I... I've been so much happier too. I was so alone before you moved in. And you fit with me so perfectly, i don't have to pretend at all to be something or someone I'm not and I'm just.... Hyunjin... I really like you, you know?"
@seunghee h。ˢᵉˡᵏʰᵉᵉ "I don't know if I want to be famous for being in a cringe compilation, though...I'd rather be known for something cool! Maybe for my music or for being undeniably handsome?" The wolf grinned playfully. "Tsk, I wouldn't group all types of criminals together. Some have been cute girls, like yourself, and they've used some...interesting tactics to try and get me to crack. I haven't, though, thank God." Chanyeol said with a little relieved sigh. "Yeah, no sense in paying for something that you don't need to, right? Plus, I'd enjoy the company. I get lonely every once in a while!" Chanyeol wasn't at all phased by her surprise when he mentioned his age. It was true; he didn't look 226 at all, but that came with being immortal. Your appearance didn't tend to change too much. "Yeah, aha. I still look like I'm in my twenties, which is a blessing and a curse. But as long as I'm among other supernaturals, I don't worry about it too much." He smiled. "Oh, wow! So you've been in the music business for a long time, too, hm?"
@chanyeol p。ʳᵉᵃˡ-ᵖᶜʸ Seunghee laughed and shook her head. "I say go for it! You'll be on very youtube cringe compilation. Then you can thank /me/ for getting viral famous!" She raised an eyebrow. "I can't imagine a hardened criminal using aegyo on you but I'll take the bonus points nonetheless. But you do make a good point," she conceded. "Getting a ride would save me from paying bus fare. I'll take up your offer next time, Chanyeol!" She took this time to look over the menu, doing a little happy dance when she saw a plethora of fish items. "Oh, I definitely want you to! It'd be nice to be the student for once instead of the teache– wait, thirty?!" She peeked over the menu to stare at him. "But you don't look a day over twenty-five tops!" Then it dawned on her. "Oh right, you're a werewolf. Duh! Of course, you look young." She looked at him sheepishly. "I started playing the piano as early as five and then singing and the flute around nine. My father wanted me to have good extracurriculars for college but my mom genuinely loved music. From there, I become a flute player for my high school's marching band and learned guitar along the way!"
@seunghee h。ˢᵉˡᵏʰᵉᵉ "A photo montage? I'm absolutely honored. Maybe I'll surprise everyone and actually be there, and then run down the aisle trying to slap people's hands while looking as cringy as possible." Chanyeol barked out a short laugh. "Seunghee, I'm a police officer. There have been criminals who have tried to use every possible way of getting out of their punishment on me. Still, you made an attempt, so I suppose I could give you bonus points for that. Ah- exploring the town isn't a bad thing, but when you're literally meeting someone who has a car and could easily pick you up, it's a little silly to not take advantage of them, right?" He reasoned while scanning over the soups, salads, and sandwiches the place offered. "No? I can teach you, if you want. I'm in love with how the electric sounds! Hmm...let's see. I've always loved music, but I developed a passion for actually playing instruments probably in my mid-twenties. As for composing music...maybe back when I was thirty? In short, it's been a very long time! But, how about you?"
@chanyeol p。ʳᵉᵃˡ-ᵖᶜʸ “No worries! I’ll say it word-for-word and have them show a photo montage of you during my speech,” she joked as she put her utensils back down and picked up a menu. “Darn, I thought the pouting would work! But fine, I’ll be sure to text or call you next time,” she said as she looked through the lunch section. “Though I do like walking around. It’s a great way to explore the town!” She felt grateful that he cared, not used to people offering their help. “Ooh, I’ve only played with acoustic so I’m excited to see you play with electric. In general, how long have you been playing and creating music?”
@seunghee h。ˢᵉˡᵏʰᵉᵉ "When I watch the music awards show, I better hear my name. Especially after you just gave a practice speech in front of me. I expect the real deal to be similar, if not exact!" He 'threatened', a playful glint in his yellow orbs to indicate that he was, of course, only joking. "Well, next time we meet up for something like this, make sure to text or call me, alright? I feel bad knowing that you walked while I had an easy drive." Chanyeol mumbled before reaching for one of the menus on the table. "Don't pout at me! You should feel guilty for making /me/ feel guilty." But again, he was merely messing around with her. "Yes, one acoustic and one electric. I'd probably pick guitar over piano any day, but yeah, I enjoy them both a lot."
So uh hey guys. Would it be possible after I'm accepted at the new one to be reaccepted here long enough to transfer over my profile and stuff? If not, it's totally fine.
