Pounding and purposeful, they stalk the cement so close that Taehyung can practically feel the gravel kicking up at the backs of his shins. His gaze swivels around his periphery and he notes the inconvenient lack of witnesses and- damn. He's really gonna die here. By some goddamn stalkers, no less.

He picks up the pace, silently weighing his options. There's always the chance to hightail it straight to the police, but they're halfway across town. And what else has he got to report other than persistent followers and suspicions sunk deep beneath his toes? But the gooseflesh on his forearms and the chill against his nape practically screams at him otherwise. Danger, in it's finest.

Mayday, ing mayday.

He barely catches the wry chortle behind him before he breaks into a sprint, narrowly avoiding all alleyways and other cliche stretches of darkness in case things take a turn for a horror flick. His gut practically gnaws at him, the urge to turn around and fight sitting high in his throat. But he's fairly certain there's more than one assailant here and he's not in the ring now. No rules. No s to give. And this isn't the facet he wants for himself in broad daylight.

He's certain he's lost them by the time he passes the fourteenth streetlamp, but just to be sure- Taehyung pistons on his heel into the first door that greets him. The unassuming tinkle of the brass bell above greets him first, then the biblichor. Rustic pages pinned by restless time. Ink embedded in the frameworks of imagination. He's run into a ing library and before Taehyung can even regret it, he's sure he hears voices floating from the outside. Finding the front desk is easy, but hailing an attendant is another feat altogether.

"Hello?" he attempts, skittish gaze flickering across the piles of books yet to be organized on waiting shelves. "Anyone here? I'm looking for a second exit? A backroom, at least." Even a ing single-person stall would do at this rate. He just needs to not be out in plain sight right now.
