@youngkyun ᵉˡᵉᵖʰᵃⁿᵗ He reached for the bear as he listened, taking sip after sip on the bitter liquid. Slowly, he was getting used to the taste, and the can was now already half empty. "I'm sorry, I'm not used to talking about myself. I usually listen to other people instead because I think I'm a great listener," he rubbed the back of his neck before letting out an awkward chuckle. "I've always wanted to go to Japan. Everything about it looks beautiful, and I've seen many pictures of it, especially during cherry blossom season!" He smiled to himself at the thought. "Ah, but I've also read up about the artefacts they have in the Tokyo National Museum during class and I really want to visit there. There's plenty of ancient arts that I really want to analyse in person. They even have the armours from the warring states era... which is just really impressive." Realising that he had rambled on, a small blush tinted his cheeks as he gripped onto the can of beer. "I'm not very interesting. You'll just be hearing a lot about me freaking out over art."

@jisung ʳᵃᵍᵈᵒˡˡ ᵏᶤᵗᵗᵉᶰ "The milk stage, yes, but that was about it. Elephants are... We're odd, very... Very independent creatures. We're taught self-reliance from a young age, though the cows do their best to protect us until we're large enough." Looking between Jisung and the bones, Youngkyun began to smile. This would really be a treat. He had purposely left a bit more meat than he should have on the bones, wanting to make a good showing for the kitten. "You won't be afraid of them anymore after you try this, I promise." He grabbed a bowl to mix the flour and spices, dredging the bones in the mixture and tossing the carcass into the boiling oil, letting it pop and sizzle away. "I promise, these will change your opinion on bones forever. You can't trust just anyone to do this preparation, but man, if you ever go to Japan, they make this way better than I do." He smiled, leaning on the counter for a minute, having time to kill to really converse - not that it was a strong point of his, but it was becoming a little more comfortable. "I thought we were talking about you, little kitten?" He retorted quickly, redirecting things back to Jisung to force his comfort level a bit.

@youngkyun ᵉˡᵉᵖʰᵃⁿᵗ "Is it really? I'm sure your mother has fed you when you were younger." It was a dumb joke and he shut himself up by quickly popped more of the omelet into his mouth with a smile. Jisung was fascinated at the skill and he watched in appreciation at how the other managed to handle the knife around the ingredients. Though his attention was quickly turned from that the the salmon bones that he had set aside. "I have this small fear of choking on those," he used the chopsticks to point at them, "Part of the reason why whenever I buy my pre-packed salmon fillets, I get the part nearest to the tail because there's a higher chance of them not having any bones." It didn't take long before the eggs were devoured, leaving a clean plate and a smiling kitten. "You've travelled the world, yeah? Ever been to the museums there too?"

@jisung ʳᵃᵍᵈᵒˡˡ ᵏᶤᵗᵗᵉᶰ Humming a bit, Youngkyun never once lifted his eyes after the plate was handed over, choosing to keep them rather down and on his knife-work. Filleting the fish was hard work, as was breaking down the squid he had bought. Both seemed like perfect options for a cat with an appetite. Being caught off guard, he lifted a wary gaze to Jisung, seeing the bite that was being offered to him, and thinking about it for a very awkwardly solid thirty seconds or so before he leaned in. "Thank... You...?" He asked quietly as he chewed; not like he hadn't eaten his own cooking before and the skill was one he was very confident in. "That's honestly the first time someone has fed me..." He admitted with a sort of questioning tone still seeping in to his throat, setting aside the salmon bones he had planned on frying to focus on the fillets themselves, seasoning them and setting them in a pot to boil with some green onions, pineapple, and sweet peppers. "Anyways... Keep entertaining me, come on. I got lots of cooking left to do."

@youngkyun ᵉˡᵉᵖʰᵃⁿᵗ There was a slight blush that crept up his cheeks when the other pointed out one of his habits. He chuckled nervously and scratch the back of his neck. "I was just thinking of the things I could say. It's hard coming with things off the cuff." He lifted up the beer to his lips to take another sip before flashing a smile back at him. "I'm right smacked in the middle– I'm the fourth-born in my family, so there are three before and after me. You could say I have the middle-child syndrome." He chuckled softly for a moment as he joked, but was quick to change his expression to one of awe when the first dish was placed in front of him. "It looks delicious...!" Without waiting, he picked up the chopsticks he had laying around on the counter and began to break a piece for himself to taste. He hummed at the taste immediately, eyes widening as he kept nodding his head while he chewed. After swallowing, he began to break another piece for the chef, holding it out. "A chef should try his own creations too. You're a good cook, Kyun!"

@jisung ʳᵃᵍᵈᵒˡˡ ᵏᶤᵗᵗᵉᶰ Youngkyun nodded absently to the words, only half listening to Jisung as he went on about the kitchen stuff. He'd brought literally everything he could need for the few things he planned on cooking, so he wasn't really worried about it. Once his bag was empty and the little kitchen was full of food and pots and pans, Youngkyun fell into an easy rhythm, and listening became a little easier. Pulling out a large knife, he began to chop veggies and mixed them into a batter while he heated a large pot full of oil, quickly creating a simple Korean cabbage pancake to start off the night. "You also have a thing for stating the obvious..." He hummed after the first few minutes went by painfully slow on the conversation front, looking up to flash a smirk at Jisung. "Six siblings, though... That's crazy. Where do you fall - First or last?" his question was genuine, bereft of the usual snark that accompanied his tone, finally relaxed for a change and not worried about anything other than the first dish of food that he handed over to the kitten before him.

@youngkyun ᵉˡᵉᵖʰᵃⁿᵗ "I have all the necessary condiments beside the stove, but if you need anything special like... sesame oil, I'm not sure I'll have that in my kitchen." Nodding his head, he moved over to the bag of alcohol the elephant had brought along with him and randomly pulled a beer from it. Walking over to the small counter in the kitchen, he took a seat on one of the bar stools and cracked open the tab on the can. The initial whiff of the alcohol made him scrunch his nose and he took a quick, apprehensive sip, quickly taken aback by the bitterness of the hops in the beer. Placing the can down, he looked at Youngkyun's figure as he worked his way around the kitchen with the ingredients he brought. "I..." He paused, unsure what to say, his fingers clutching on the beer. "I'm a year younger than you are, which you already know. I'm a cat, which you can see. I like salmon, I think it's obvious. I have six siblings." It sounded like he was rambling as he thought of interesting things to say about himself, finding himself quite stumped. "Oh, and I study in the college nearby, majoring in art!"

@jisung ʳᵃᵍᵈᵒˡˡ ᵏᶤᵗᵗᵉᶰ It took everything in Youngkyun's entire being not to burst out laughing when he saw a cabinet chock full of those pre-bagged salmon treats, shaking his head and lowering his face so that Jisung wouldn't notice just how red he was getting from holding it in. After the correct cabinet was found, he finally looked up, ears flapping softly in an alternating pattern and lips bitten together. "Ah, gotcha. Thanks." He nodded quietly, before moving past the kitten to pull out everything he would need from said cabinet and set himself up a bit, familiarizing himself in the small space. "Ah, you can chill and have a beer. I'll feed you omakase style." He nodded, pulling out a knife roll from his bag first and foremost, then starting to offload ingredients. "Talk to me while I work, that will be your job. Tell me all about you."

@youngkyun ᵉˡᵉᵖʰᵃⁿᵗ "Ah, sure thing." He closed the door behind them and led him towards his kitchen. It only took all but five steps to get from his door to the kitchen. His rented apartment was small and quaint, but it had fit his budget just right especially when he was struggling with it. Who needs that much space when he's living alone anyway? "The fridge is over here, and the pots and pans are..." He pointed at the small refrigerator first before looking through the cupboards. The first one he opened was filled was his favourite treat, the salmon bites he always carried around. "Ah, it's not this one." He opened a few more cupboards before finding the one he was looking for. It was obvious he was a stranger in his own kitchen. "I can help with the prep. I can't cook well, but at least I don't burn things."

@jisung ʳᵃᵍᵈᵒˡˡ ᵏᶤᵗᵗᵉᶰ Looking around once the door opened, Youngkyun let his eyes roll to see the other so unabashedly happy, shaking his head. "Of course, you're a cat and a kid, your place would be messy..." He hummed, cautiously stepping inside and looking behind him as the door closed. Carefully taking off his shoes, he wiggled his toes against the polished floor through his socks. It really wasn't that bad. "Thanks for cleaning up the kitchen though, that will help a lot. Can you show me where everything is so I can get started?" he asked softly as he made his way to the small kitchen, setting down the bag on the counter before taking off his heavy backpack to unload all the groceries he had brought.

@youngkyun ᵉˡᵉᵖʰᵃⁿᵗ His sensitive ears picked up the sound of knocking wood and he immediately, and eagerly, walks up to the door. Opening it, he already had his signature smile on his face to greet the other. “I cleaned up... slightly. But it might still be a mess.” He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly as he lets out an awkward laugh. “I made sure the kitchen was spotless though.”

@jisung ʳᵃᵍᵈᵒˡˡ ᵏᶤᵗᵗᵉᶰ The weight of the groceries in his backpack was lightened by the odd sense of apprehension that Youngkyun carried while he made his way to the address given. Double and triple checking his phone, he made sure of his being at the right place before lifting the hand not holding a bag of alcohol to knock on the door, looking around surreptitiously as though he was committing some sort of sin by being here.

@youngkyun ᵉˡᵉᵖʰᵃⁿᵗ It wasn’t everyday he invited someone over. In fact, he could count in just one hand the number of times he had. Even so, he was excited— more so at the promise of food than anything else as he hurried around his apartment to pile the unnecessary items that shouldn’t be laying around in the cupboard full of rubbish and junk. Not the cleanest when he’s living alone, but at least he tries.
