@taehyung ᵃʳᶜᵗᶤᶜ ᶠᵒˣ Byeongkwan made his way down to the pit, lazily pushing a mint from one side of his mouth to the other. Friday was usually his day to be on the pediatric floor of the hospital, but there had been a scheduling mixup and another nurse called out so he was pulled to help cover the pit. Entering the elevator, he bit down on the mint and chewed until it disappeared, hoping the peppermint flavor and scent would mask the smell of garlic on his breath; the grandma of one of the patient's, Mrs. Cho, brought in tofu garlic buns for the staff as a thank you for caring for her grandson. They were delicious and Jason may or may not have wrapped up one in paper towels and put it in the pocket of his Spiderman scrub top for later.
Entering the pit was like entering a bookstore on the day of an event-- no one was talking particularly loudly, usually at a normal volume, but there were so many people talking to each other that the noise of it all grew and grew until the chatter became near deafening. Peds was much quieter. Byeongkwan made his way to the central nurse's desk and picked up a chart to see who still needed to be tended to. "Bed 9 just arrived; check vitals and fill out the paperwork and then page Dr. Zahar," the charge nurse instructed as Byeongkwan looked over the clipboard, her voice a bit louder to be heard over everything else.
He gave a little salute as if to say "aye aye captain," and made his way over to the designated bed with an empty chart in his hand. "Hey there," he greeted with a smile. "You look a little worse for wear- how are you feeling? I'm Byeongkwan and I'll be assisting Dr. Zahar today. On a scale of 1 to 10, how is your pain?"
