@lee gahyeon watching gahyeon laugh, jeongin nodded and laughed along with the other. "yeah, it is pretty fun. a good gaming session at the end of the week really helps to keep my mind off of school." he looked at the freshman's for a while, trying to recall their past conversations. "what about you? what do you like to do in your spare time? i don't think i've ever asked you about this."
the picture of himself with a bow and arrow brought both a blush and a smile to jeongin's face. "sounds like a good idea," he said. "i'm guessing you would show up in a squirrel costume." jeongin nodded his head in agreement. "it took a while, but halfway into my first year, i started to find shortcuts and now i get a little bit of extra sleep in the morning," he chuckled. "seems like you got to know the campus pretty fast, considering that you're still a freshie!"
@yang jeongin Folding her arms again, she nodded. "Yes I suppose that is the way to go hm? " She looked over at him before puffing out her cheeks. "Gaming sounds fun though like it really would be a way to destress ah? but yes it does seem that way, so good luck to us both in our explorations." She laughed before grinning happily.
"Cupid man, Jeongin, sounds like a perfect thing, time for you to shoot your arrows at people next halloween then huh?" She just realised, with widened eyes that she didn't even think to bring a towel but at the same time , she is glad that Jeongin did not get himself wet. "Oh god, that will be the last thing I wanted, you ending up with hypothermia, but you make a valid point there, yet I am glad as well the walk from here to class and the dorms are not that far, if you take the short cuts that is." Wriggling her nose, she ended up , once again, laughing.
@lee gahyeon gahyeon's question was met by a silence on jeongin's side as he thought about it. "just try different things?" he said, it being the most reasonable thing in his head. he laughed a little before continuing, "to be honest, i don't really have a particular interest. i game here and there, but i'm definitely not as invested in it as some others." he gave a little shrug as he looked at gahyeon. "i guess both of us have some exploring to do."
the nickname that gahyeon came up with drew out a chuckle from jeongin. "cupid man, at your service!" jeongin shook his head, because gahyeon had no reason to be sorry. "well, maybe if it was summer and daytime, it'd be okay. i don't have a change of clothes, so if i got wet, i'd have to walk all the way back to my dorm in the cold, dripping wet." jeongin shuddered at the thought. "i'd get hypothermia or something."
@yang jeongin Perhaps Jeongin was right and maybe she just dwelled too much in her thoughts. "I suppose so, I have not yet found someone unfriendly." Rubbing the back of her neck she contemplated a little before looking over at him. "But what does one do if they are uncertain upon what they are interested in?"
Dismissively waving her hand a little , she ended up folding her arms, humming a little. "Suppose they are , I mean well some are , but thank you cupid Jeonginnie, if I need your services I will zoom zoom over to you for help, ha! cute cupid man."
Rubbing her shoulder, she playfully pouted, but he was right though. "Thank you, I really owe you one hah! ahh well thank you for coming to my rescue ah! but also sorry you had to drag yourself here as well, and I don't know, there has been times where I went 'swimming' in my clothes before, so anything can be swim attire when the situation is needed, ah?"
@lee gahyeon [] no worries!! i understand that you're busy these days, so take your time and take care of yourself throughout!
jeongin couldn't tell if he was imagining it but he felt a tinge of sadness in gahyeon's words. "i'm sure someone will, there are lots of nice people here at nwu," he said, a few faces coming to mind. jeongin nodded in understanding, he knew someone who was absorbed in studying too. "that's fine, you get to choose what you wanna do. but if you ever want to expand your options, just look around! there are lots of interesting things here."
jeongin let the freshman pat his shoulder, hoping it would provide some sort of comfort if she needed it. "well, i think feelings are important!" he said honestly. "but i get if they're a little personal and that's why you keep them to yourselves." with a sheepish smile, he added, "i do that a lot too." he then shook his head firmly. "but i do make a pretty good cupid, so let me know if you need assistance!"
jeongin lightly punched gahyeon's shoulder at her question. "to prevent you from actual death, silly!" he laughed. "you said you were swimming, and i didn't feel safe knowing that you weren't too good a swimmer." pointing at his clothes, he explained, "i don't even have the proper attire to swim right now."
@yang jeongin (sorry for the late replies bb.. im doing my best ahh! )
"Nor is this your fault too alright, but I suppose I really should ah! but then again you know, half the time I don't think someone would come , but that is just me." Once she reached the edge, she lied on her back and somewhat tilted her head. "I forgot we had a swim team you know, but then again I don't really involve myself with things it is all just studying." she made yet another small sigh.
Sitting up ,she gently patted the others shoulder before folding her arms. "I kind of do , but they are not really important things , just feelings to others , but hey we all get them so I don't really bother the others with them ah but yet I thank you for asking though, but despite me being here, what brings you to the room of liquid death?" She laughed along with him before frowning a little. "After that, I don't think I will be coming back here, fear of water is real hah!"
@lee gahyeon jeongin nodded with a smile on his face, before his arms got to work at pulling the lifebuoy, and the freshman along with it. "no, no, gahyeon!" he shook his head. "it's not your fault. just... make sure to ask someone to come with you next time," he said truthfully, for the sake of gahyeon's safety. "i know there's some people from the swim team who wouldn't mind hanging out in the pool a little longer."
when the lifebuoy reached the side of the pool, he sat down at the edge, legs dipping into the pool, as he waited for gahyeon to get out of the pool. "seems like you have a lot on your mind these days, gahyeon," he hummed in thought, recalling their conversations in the chat. "you wanna share 'em with me? it might help you feel better, figure them out a little." with a little laugh he added, "since i think you shouldn't be floating in the pool to think for a while now."
@yang jeongin To be getting pulled or should she say in this death square , she carefully waved her arm. " Get me out of here , please Jeonginnie. I don't want to say in this death square? rectangle any more." Breathing deeply, she just shook her head at his words. "Listen , honey.. I can assure you even if you did not come I certainly would have drowned, as for that, no you are not the one who accidentally caused it, it was my own fault so either way, I am the one to blame." she carefully flattened her hair down on top of her head, making it look like it was smooth but greasy. With a small sigh she bit her inner cheek. "I figured it would be peaceful here , you know? to just float and get lost in your thoughts, and figure out things you know , it was the only place I felt like I could get away from people to figure out my thoughts." She laughed before sighing a little, "However with that said, I am grateful you did come none-the-less.. else a Gahyeon would not have been saved, ah!"
@lee gahyeon stopping short of the pool, jeongin heaved a sigh of relief seeing gahyeon manage to hold onto the the lifebuoy. "should i pull you to the side of the pool?" he asked, slightly shaking the role attached to the lifebuoy. "or do you wanna stay in the water a little longer?" he gave a weak chuckle at how gahyeon could respond like that even after almost drowning. "no, it's okay, now i'm not sure if it's a good thing if i came. i think i did help prevent drowning, but i might have accidentally caused it, too..." he said, trailing off. "what are you doing in the pool, anyway?" he asked, curious about why someone who could barely swim was swimming all alone.
@yang jeongin Kicking off from the bottom of the pool she attempted to swim up , making movements with her hands she finally made it to the top , grabbing the floatation device she breathed in deeply and coughed before breathing a few times , slowly nodding. “Never again will I pool unless it is billiards , also I am glad you think I look like a squirrel that makes me happy , I am glad we can rule the world with our cuteness.” Makes a small laugh while coughing she emitted a small sigh. “Sorry for causing you a sudden un-necessary problem too Jeonginnie.”
@lee gahyeon "wait, what?" at the sight of gahyeon suddenly sinking, jeongin immediately ran to the lifeguard's post, his brain unlocking whatever he had learnt during his swimming lessons during his childhood. he grabbed the floatation device and flung it into the pool. as he ran back towards the pool, he shouted, "gahyeon, can you grab onto it?"
@yang jeongin "of course I need help, I am actively drowning" which is the truth, the more she panicked the harder it is for her to keep her head above the water. Splashing more she turned to face him, right now talking can wait, she went silent on him, her thoughts where even more of a mess , without thinking she let herself sink under the water, best to just push up from the ground right now, perhaps that will help.
@lee gahyeon jeongin panicked, seeing the freshman suddenly splashing about upon his arrival. body reacting quickly, he bent down further, feet about to enter the pool, in order to prevent gahyeon from drowning in front of his eyes. but he stopped when he heard her talk. "oh , do you still need help?" he asked. "i thought something was about to happen there..." he looked away at her compliment with a nervous laugh. "thank you, i guess?" he paused for a while, a bit shy considering it was their first meeting. "you really look like a squirrel in real life, gahyeon. it's pretty cute?" he said with another chuckle.
@yang jeongin She became startled upon hearing the mans voice, turning around to face him made her distracted, but it was worth it. Unable to touch the bottom, she panicked and splashed around ,unable to swim she panicked even more when she couldn't go back to "floating" on her back. "Perfectly,. Fine but.. you are .. better looking.. in reality.. Jeonginnie"
@lee gahyeon jeongin was pretty free, having completed most of his assignments earlier in the week. so he thought it wouldn't hurt to pass by the pool to check in on gahyeon. reaching the pool, still in his everyday way, he spotted a figure in the pool and walked over. reaching the side of the pool, he squatted down before calling out, "hey, gahyeon! doing okay over there?"
reading the sign , she just shrugged, sure she will probably drown but that is ok . Lying on her back, occasionally splashing around to keep herself a float, she just started at the ceiling, she was determined to, no matter what, not leave until her head was cleared up .
being left to your own thoughts like this was always something he'd appreciated ever since he entered college. With so many things happening day in and day out along with taking care of so many people really takes a toll on his mental sometimes. He never really realizes he's out of energy until the days when he's doing nothing but sleeping. Letting his mind do as it pleases, he lets his body float along the top of the water, staring up into the glass roofing of the building to count the endless stars. Nothing beats letting the water handle your weight and silence your worries.
Jaeyoung arrives in black swim trunks and a towel slung over his bare chest, trailing wet footsteps from the locker room from rinsing off. He hung his towel over the pool railing before hopping in. His weight sunk him to the body, letting his body be engulfed by the chlorinated water. He let out his held breath, causing large bubbles to float to the surface before he followed suit. His hands wiped his long hair from his face and the water from his eyes before he began to paddle around in the water, enjoying the empty room and the sound of the waters splashing as he passed through it.
