PRIZM (Hangul: 프리즘) is a South Korean K-Pop coed group formed under the Lyra Muzik label of Nova Lux Corporation. They debuted on September 18, 2020, with the Korean single 'Oh Nana' which featured labelmate Areum. The group currently consists of members Grey, Minhee, Ruby and Hero. Their fandom is called Chroma. Their official colors are Red (#871328) and Iridescent Teal (#00B8A2). Their introduction phrase is "Shine Bright! We're PRIZM!"
PRIZM won Top Duo/Group at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards and was Nominated for Album of the Year at the 2022 Korean Music Awards with their EP So Bad It's Good.
Lore and Concept
The lore of the group connects them with their labelmates. The name and concept of the group are meant to represent the spectrum of all the artists and how they all work together to create a kaleidoscope of colors.
History
Pre-Debut
All members were originally revealed to the public as members of Nova Rookies. As trainees, they spent time as backup dancers for their labelmates and can be seen in some of their music videos. Members Grey and — were originally set to debut as a duo, but they were later added to the lineup for Lyra Muzik's new coed project. Former member — was a part of the initial lineup for PANDØRA but didn't make it to the final lineup. They performed covers of other songs during busking events leading up to their debut. Their public appearance slowly gained traction which helped solidify the company's decision to officially debut the group. Former members Grey and — both decided to complete their mandatory military service before their debut.
2020-2021: Debut & First World Tour
PRIZM's debut was met with moderate success due to their pre-debut exposure to the public. With the success of labelmate ReNu's coed concept, the company turned its attention towards a coed idol group. The group saw more success internationally than they did in the domestic market, consistently breaking into the Top 10 chart in the US.
Part of the group's appeal was that they tended to have more mature lyrics and choreography, constantly breaking the stereotype of male and female idols promoting and performing together. Former member and leader Grey also started to gain praise for having a hand in either producing or writing the lyrics for songs on all their albums from their album Say Hi. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, there were few physical promotions for their releases. Until their EP So Bad It's Good, which became their most successful release. Grey wrote, produced, and arranged several songs on the EP, with all songs spending several weeks on the Billboard Chart Top 10. Despite the pandemic, they held a small-scale world tour, strictly following pandemic rules and protocols. The tour was wrapped up successfully with stops in Japan, South Korea, the US, and Europe.

2022-2024: Hiatus, lineup changes & comeback
The original lineup released their last EP You & Me on May 3, 2022, before the group would go on hiatus. The hiatus was announced after member _ exposed the company for mistreatment of the members and lack of payment. Fans sent protest trucks and petitions for the company to support the members during that time. A company insider revealed that the member was the real cause of mistreatment and that the company had been transparent with funding and payments. The lack of payments was caused by debt funding the group's debut and tour, and they had successfully paid back the debt with the latest comeback. The conflict caused divided reactions among fans and netizens, who blamed both sides for various reasons. All members subsequently went quiet on social media, and a few months later the company announced that they held private auditions to find a new lineup.
The new lineup debuted with the Korean single Ring the Alarm on May 12, 2024. This was quickly followed by the EP Bomb on June 23. The group revealed on social media that it's currently gearing up for its first studio album, which has been said to include re-recordings of previously released songs, much to the chagrins of long-term fans of the group.
