@kim sihyeon. He was backed up, had too many things to try and catch up on and it felt like with every email he responded to, he would receive 20 back in return. It was the most exhausted he had been in weeks, and today he knew that if he didn’t allow himself a small treat, he would go insane… more than he already has, that is.
So he found himself at a bakery, ordering a sweet roll, with a regular strong brewed coffee. Taking a seat at one of the tables, he pulled out his phone to reply to emails and messages that he could, as the male found it difficult to allow himself any kind of proper break. When he first heard a voice calling out ‘doctor’, he wasn’t sure that it was directed at him until his last name followed it shortly after. Quickly looking away from his phone he looked up and saw a face he hadn’t been expecting to see, his face immediately lighting up into a bright smile.
“Ah, Sihyeon.” He smiled at her, wiping any crumbs that could have been left on him off. “It has been, thankfully in your case though.” He let out a light hearted chuckle his hand motioning to the seat in front of him, his mind already taken off the emails, offering the other the seat in case she wanted to talk. More often than not, Seonghwa didn’t like to be bothered while in his work, but this occasion was different. “And please, you can call me Seonghwa outside of the hospital.”
@park seonghwa. Being your boss has plenty of benefits compared to working for someone. For example, you could set your hours, and work at your own pace, and lastly, in Sihyeon’s case, she could always treat herself to a sweet dessert in the middle of the workday. A chocolate croissant paired with black tea was her usual order. It was easy to submerge herself in the ambiance of the bakery. The scent of fresh bread and delicious pastries greeted visitors at the entrance. It was nostalgic, coaxing, and inviting to anyone who walked by. The boutique owner settles down at an empty seating area, placing the tray on an isolated table before scoping the treat in one hand and her phone in the next. It was her free hour to be completely unseen, unfamiliar to anybody whose eyes may make contact with hers accidentally. Although the bakery was bustling with life from others surrounding her, it wasn’t loud enough to disturb her peace. Finally accustomed to her seat, the brunette takes a bite from her delectable pastry and hums in contentment at the unchanging recipe.
She scrolls through her feed, placement of palms idly switching back and forth from her food to her as she emerges in the luxury of having free time. It isn’t until the filling stains that she notices distinguishing features in the crowd while reaching for a napkin — Park Seonghwa. He was the kind doctor who attended to her treatments when she was still kindled to her family. Sihyeon wasn’t blessed with a healthy heart, but she was blessed with a doctor who paid attention to his craft in medicine. How long has it been? He looked well. Seven… Nine months… It was a year since she last saw him. With proper medication and a regime to maintain the fitness of her heart, she was allowed to discontinue the tedious checkups. There wasn’t a need to be suffocated by the smell of disinfectant wipes any longer and though she was grateful for the news, a proper goodbye wasn’t issued. “Doctor?” The woman whispered to the male sitting at the other table. Obviously, he couldn’t hear her at an insolent volume. Clearing once more to make her voice louder, she stands up to make her presence known to the latter while approaching his seated form. “Doctor Park, it’s me, Sihyeon. Long time no see, huh?”
