when taegyun tried to look past them, they moved, attempting their best to block his vision. still, they knew it was futile.
sighing, they took taegyun's hand and guided them to a corner of the room. at least from this angle, the view of the cat ears headband couldn't be seen.
"wooyoung's dead. someone cut off his ears." they winced, shaking the image from their mind. "there's no sign of struggle. the only wound that can be found- or at least in direct sight, are his missing ears. we're still figuring out the possible cause of death."
they looked at taegyun worriedly. "we need to be careful. the killer could be any of the guest in the resort right now."

he can't help a laugh from slipping, taken off guard by han's unintentional comedic comment. the question later on settled him, a contemplative expression crossing his face.
"i'm not well-versed in poison. but if i have to make some suggestions, rat poison is a common ingredient to have in any household or facility. then again, anything that you can find on the compound can be used as poison."
glancing at the floor, he offered a non-committal shrug. "who knows? boredom, grudge, a sick fantasy. anything could be a motive." he nodded at the crudely-made cat ears headband. "enough to go this far."

I can't keep looking at him. As hot as wooyoung is...was...this is rough.

So if it was poison...what type of poison was it?
I doubt there's anything here at the lodges that could be poisonous like that...and who would have motive to kill him?

it's unlikely he's been smothered. the brain would know when oxygen stops flowing, and it'll likely wake him up /looks over at seongmin/ although, now that you mention it, it's highly probable that he died by other means. i'm just suggesting drugs and poison because- /winces and turns back to wooyoung/ -i'm not about to touch his body to inspect for any other possible way in which he can die to. but if you want to find out if there are other possibilities to his death than my guesses, be my guest
/stands up, instantly snapping my head to the familiar voice of the newcomer/

I think if he was smothered, there would've been some kind of fight. He's a cat, he would have clawed and scratched at anything he could've right?
*Looks around the chair, trying not to look directly at wooyoung, still a little nauseous from the sight*
There's no scratches on the chair or even himself.
Was he even killed here? What if it happened in another room?

Seongmin couldn't look at the scene at all, his head was swimming and he felt somewhat sick. How were these two talking about this so casually? The mouse turned away while holding his stomach, softly coughing.
Are we assuming he was poisoned or drugged? Why would we assume that.. someone could have easily smothered him-

Mm Wooyoung doesn't strike me as the type to just...grab a drink he wasn't paying attention to. Then again, I'm not that close to him so I couldn't say for sure.

not much of a true crime person, watched maybe one or two detective shows. most of my knowledge is from reading and observing /taps the side of my head/ and life experience. violence and death don't only occur in crime scenes after all

people who the victim trusts are usually the main suspects, but we can't exclude other possibilities. for now, we'll question those close to wooyoung, and everyone else who has interacted with him
/at the latter question, i shrug/ it doesn't have to be taken from someone. i've seen clips of people spiking drinks. the slide of hand is very cunning, you wouldn't even notice someone was near you to do it
/looks around the room and laughs without humour/ of course there's no camera. i wonder if there are some outside? we need to trace his footsteps

No scuffle makes sense cuz yeah, no marks or anything....that was can see at least.
So he mustve been pretty trusting of whoever it was right?
Even if he was drugged, why would he take something from someone he isn't as familiar with?

/points to wooyoung's unmarred body/ besides the missing ears, there are no bruises or scratches to suggest he had been in a scuffle /gestures to his hands/ there is no dried blood under his fingers, which can only mean he never confronted his assaulter upfront
/stands up and walks behind wooyoung, looking at the back of his head (doing my best to ignore the gash where his ears were supposed to be)/
as i expected. no head trauma either
he must've been drugged. went away, probably started feeling dizzy, took a seat and knocked out
/rubs my chin thoughtfully/ the alternative is he wasn't drugged, but that he was killed by whatever he ingested. poison doesn't work fast, so he probably thought he was just feeling unwell and took a nap.
but these are all just guesses. i'm basing my logic off of what i can see right here with me /waves at wooyoung's corpse, sighing softly/ it's still a gruesome death. whoever did this must be twisted

he wipes harshly at his eyes, blinking the tears away as he crouches down- at a distance, eyes scanning wooyoung’s face. his hands tremble as they cup over his mouth.
I can’t— why? oh god.

Seongmin peeked over the shoulders of the small crowd gathered, his eyes widening as he takes in the grotesque scene. He covers his mouth, stumbling back against one of the other chairs in horror.
I think I’m gonna be sick..

The body was found in one of the adjacent lounges, slumped peacefully in an armchair. It was Wooyoung. At first glance, there was nothing unusual—no signs of struggle or harm. But then someone noticed: his cat ears were missing.

On the coffee table lay a headband, fashioned grotesquely from Wooyoung’s removed ears. The precision of the work suggested the ears were taken after death, leaving no blood or mess.

As the storm continued to howl outside, unease settled heavily over the guests. The realization was undeniable—Wooyoung hadn’t died of natural causes, and whoever was responsible was still among them.
