Welcome to Death Weapon Meister Academy! DWMA is a school for humans with the ability to transform into weapons and those who can wield them. Run by the shinigami or death, the goal is to train and absorb the souls of 99 evil humans and one witch so that they increase in power. Once strong enough they become “death scythes” which are the weapons the shinigami use.
Meisters are individuals with exceptional soul wavelengths that are paired up with demon weapons so they can use them. If the souls are compatible then the meister can wield the weapon with ease but if not it can lead to disastrous consequences, even death. They are all unique with powers of their own and have the ability to give and receive energy.
Demon weapons are humans with the ability to turn themselves into various weapon forms. They are paired up with meisters who can use them to see if they have good compatibility. Once chosen, they live with their meisters and virtually never leave each other’s sides.
