Christopher's Apartment

@† Yusaku Things can disappear. Just like that. There one second, then gone in a flash. Christopher has experienced this numerous times already and it has gotten to the point where he's going a little overboard in his fatherly protectiveness over his little girl. She was, quite literally, all he had. Christopher is not proud to admit this but... he's only alive because of her. He doesn't want to delve to deep into that just yet though. A part of him hoped that it would get better, although the more aware part of himself knew it was beyond too far already. At this point, it was any day now. He'll probably even make arrangements for it too. Just in case. How much Yusaku know? Did his brother tell him anything about Christopher's situation? Probably not. There's no point of even mentioning his financial burdens because that would just seem really... dramatic of him to do, it's almost like he would he whining or trying to seek pity or sympathy. Rose's sleepy mumbles were always adorable. She was around the age now where words were not an issue, just getting the proper ones -- and coherent sentences formed -- were a concept to her. Christopher carefully ran his fingers through her dark hair, watching her with soft eyes as she curls up tighter into the blanket. He bends down to place a kiss to the crown of her head then straightens, moving over to where he set his bag. Zipping it open and rummaging through the contents for a few seconds, he manages to find his wallet and pull it out, counting what little bills were in there until coming up to a little more than the usual total. "Here," Christopher says, wandering over to Yusaku and handing over the small stack of folded bills. "I put extra in there for being late. Thank you so much for watching her last second, I know it was unexpected but I'm sure she wasn't a troublemaker for you." With everyone else she wasn't. With him, it's like she held a grudge.

@‡ Christopher Yusaku was somewhat startled when he heard the door. He'd fallen asleep on the floor near the little one's bed, hoping up immediately though. His brows furrowed for a moment before he was moving out of the way for Christopher to get a look at her. He just stood off in his own world, stretching and gathering up what little he'd managed to bring along with him in a hurry. Shusaku was usually good about his time management but, as manager of the cafe, he'd been called away a number of times before to handle something that only he had the authority to answer. He was proud of his brother, though he always had been and always would be. He was a bit tired himself and, quite frankly, he wasn't even sure what time it was at the moment but he was also questioning now if it was too late to get a bus home. "I was probably too boring for her," Yusaku covered his mouth as he yawned before stretching again as he tried to figure out where his jacket disappeared to, "When Shu babysits, he always has a schedule or some games or toys." He wasn't even aware that he was tired enough to the point that he was defaulting some words to Japanese. From what he remembered, Christopher could speak some Japanese but he also wasn't sure if he was mixing that up with someone else. "Did you need anything else before I head out," he asked, perking himself up some so he'd be more alert for his trip home. This was one of those instances where he really felt his age, even though he wasn't that old.

@† Yusaku If he wasn't so drained of energy, there would definitely be more pep in his step but Christopher could barely even find the strength to blink most times. Deep down, he knew Rose Mae behaved very well for her age and gave him little trouble, which he was thankful for. It seemed that she took after him in more ways than one. He had full confidence that she wouldn't be giving Yusaku any trouble either, despite them only having met this one time. Originally, it was Yusaku's brother that was supposed to watch his daughter for the night however, due to unexpected change of plans, had to back out but was quick to offer that someone else would be taking his place instead. It has gotten very late and Christopher was a few hours past the time he was supposed to be home. It was always the workload keeping him back longer than normal. Working two full-time jobs with one being a manager of his own shop on top of being a single parent was more than just physically demanding. He's still astonished that he went from a two-story house and a band on his finger to a tiny apartment that clearly was not meant for more than one people, let alone a /child/. The little living-room area of the studio apartment had been sectioned off to be a make-shift bedroom for Rose. It was kind of humiliating... He could barely afford basic groceries even with the hours he works. All of it ends up going to bill or his daughter. The door opens and he steps inside, looking very much worn down for wear with his shoulders weighing heavy with exhaustion, eyes drooping. "Hey-- Sorry I'm late," Christopher shoved off his shoes and trudges further in, rubbing one eye with his fist. "Gimme a sec to check on her and I'll give you the money." It was routine, needing to physically see her with his own two eyes before giving the money. It's how he and Jiyong worked, and the guy was always happy to take his money afterwards.

@‡ Christopher Yusaku wasn't sure why he agreed to this but here he was, watching a kid in place of his brother. Thankfully, the little girl didn't seem to be getting into too much. He couldn't remember the last time he'd been around another human this small, let alone been in charge of them. He'd gotten to spend a little time with Jiyong's twins, who loved him thankfully. They'd made it easy. Rose Mae wasn't making it difficult. Yusaku just never felt like he was good with kids. She seemed to be dozing off now that it was getting later and, soon enough, he was helping her get ready for bed and tucking her in. For some reason, he felt drained and yet relieved at the same time. Yusaku was sure the little girl would have had a lot more fun with his brother but the older Japanese male had done what he could do. At the moment, he was just waiting for Christopher to get back home. In the meantime, he just straightened up a little, not that they had made much of a mess anyway but just to lend a helping hand.
