Silence. A luxury she often can't seem to afford.

She sits inside the shaded area of a private, beachside restaurant at the hotel she and her... fiancé were supposed to meet at. Each of their parents came up with the brilliant idea to send them away on an impromptu vaction — just the two of them — and even booked the whole restaurant for the whole night. Outside of the waitstaff who were attentive to her every beck and call shuffling to prepare their prepicked menu and offer a glass of champagne every now and again, and outside of the sound of waves softly crashing against the shore, it was perfectly silent... It'd been so long since she's had a moment to just sit like this, so she figures she may as well make use of this opportunity to enjoy the silence and solitude.

Slender fingers of hers trace the rim of an otherwise untouched flut of champagne and her half-lidded eyes practically bore into the beverage before her, absently at first but in confusion as the sun begins to set and she realizes he was late. Her fingers delicately fiddle with the latch on her lilac clutch to fish out her phone and check the time. Was she going to be stood up? At the thought, a smile as warm as the sun's heat spreads across her face. It felt nice to be out and carefree again, enjoy the solace of privacy in what would otherwise be a public place. It felt nice to imagine having this vacation to herself. But what felt the best about today was the fact that she'd probably get to eat a nice meal. "Bring me an appetizer to snack on, please. Whatever is the tastiest," she orders to one of the waiters. And just as she was about to get comfortable, slacken the belt over her matching lilac halter jumpsuit, she sees him enter the restaurant, muttering a small, "Damn it..." under her breath.

It probably wasn’t so ideal, ordering an appetizer now that he's actually here. It probably wasn’t ideal, wearing the tall heels she donned, but she wanted to look nice… feel nice and make sure she accomodated his height when he approaches her for a brisk hug. She presses the curteous kiss to each of his cheeks in greeting and says a small "Hello" as the staff light the outdoor lanterns with gentle flames. Her lips shape into another smile, one politely delighted and calm despite their circumstances. Before taking her seat, she presses herself closer to him and whispers below her breath, "Ready to get through this nightmare?"
