@โงห l. jihoon for a brief second there, mingyu wonders if the other plans on moving somewhere else once he gets his history set. the thought bothers him a bit, but he decides not to say anything nor focus on that, instead he nods in agreement. "Indeed, to both. I mean.. I could always come over and help, if you need? I might not have the spicy stuff for you to write about though." with a small laugh, he stands up, drink finished. "we should... go? take care of that, at least. and maybe I could drop you at yours once it's all finished?" he hopes he doesn't sound too... eager to spend more time with the other, because he definitely is.
@โงห k. mingyu Jihoon bristles a bit at being called cute. Normally, this wouldn't sit right with him but for some strange reason, he lets Mingyu call him that and doesn't bother correcting the other like he normally would. "I feel like the unpacking process is really what takes forever.. I still have boxes that are.. unpacked." he murmurs sheepishly and scratches the back of his nape. Choosing to ignore that he would need to take care of the laundry soon, he peeks over at Mingyu, meeting his gaze. "I'm here for some peace and quiet.. Usually in small towns like this, if you're here long enough, you can really dig up some nice stuff to write about. Honestly, a win-win situation, you know."
@โงห l. jihoon at the sight of Jihoon's face completely red, Mingyu can't help but to smile from ear to ear – enjoying the sight a little too much. "cute.." he slips out and he doesn't even notice he did so, thinking he just thought that to himself. "I definitely am, the moving process is a bit.. tiring, but since I enjoy all the decor and moving things around, it's been... pleasant. You should stop by when I have everything settled." he nods, the smile never leaving his lips even after he takes a sip from his drink. when Mingyu sees Jihoon's gaze moving, he follows it and just like the other, his own laundry is almost ready to go. "Ah, well.. I have a friend who lives here, after some thought and much research I decided it seemed like a good enough place to start... by myself. You?"
@โงห k. mingyu Staring at Mingyu, Jihoon's eyes widen even more as he slowly turn red under the others gaze. It started off from the base of his neck as the heat travels up his face, spreading to the very tips of his ears. "Well.. um.. I hope you're enjoying your space now..." he murmurs quietly, a little too embarrassed to fully function. He ducks his head to hide from the fact that he wasn't able to pick up on such an obvious joke. Of course Mingyu wouldn't of have been a criminal! The man works in gardens with trees and flowers. Shaking the final thoughts away, Jihoon shifts in his seat and takes a peek over at his laundry. It's nearly done, he'd have to switch it over to the drier soon. "How did you find this place? It's such a small town."
@โงห l. jihoon his laugh echoes through the booth, despite the sounds of the machines running in the background one can easily say that he's genuinely laughing. with a small shake of his head, he tries to calm down. a smile settles on his lips as his eyes meet jihoon's. "do you really think I was being serious? sorry." he clears his throat, taking a sip from his drink before giving the other a small shrug. "I just.. I need my own space, you know.. family stuff."
@โงห k. dawon Jihoon's eyes grow wide at the news of what Daewon had just said, the joke flying straight over his head. "I'm sorry, what? The police?" In shock over what just happened, the smaller one tries his best to not look scandalized but it's proving rather difficult. He never imagined that Daewon would be a culprit of some sort but then again, Jihoon doesn't really know the other at all. "I-I guess um.. this would be a low-key spot to hide out?" the older tones down his voice as he leans back against the seat, cracking his bottle open and taking a nervous sip. "Hope you're not in trouble for anything crazy?"
@โงห l. jihoon "thanks." daewon says with a smile as he grabs his drink and once more follows swiftly after the other. "that makes sense, back then when I first started on coffee I'd be like that too, now though I'm used to it." once he sits at the nearest seat, he shrugs a bit at Jihoon's question. "well.. I don't think I can be a Seoul guy anymore, this looks like a nice place to run away from the police." 'or my dad', he thinks to himself, but lets out a small chuckle to make sure that the other knows he's just joking around. he is indeed running away, but definitely not from the law.
@โงห k. dawon "It does. I get all jittery and I can't seem to think straight." Shrugging, Jihoon watches as their drinks drop down and he reaches to pull them out from the machine. He hands Daewon his before he gestures to the booth nearby and moves to sit inside. "Why'd you move here?" Jihoon blurts out all the sudden. It seems that with the other, he finds it hard to keep his mouth shut which is such a rare instance and it makes him wonder if they would've been great friends back in college if Jihoon had just mustered up the nerve to say hello.
@โงห l. jihoon "you.. don't seem like a big fan of coffee. does it really get to you?" daewon briefly eyes jihoon up and down, for a moment wondering that anything a bit more would seem too much for someone so.. small. daewon had noticed that before, how much shorter jihoon is, but from up close it just gave him an urge to cradle the other in his arms and protect him from the world – what is daewon even thinking? they just met, that's not going to happen anytime soon. "ahem, yeah, sounds good. I'll go with.. decaf?" he says a bit uncertain, but proceeds to buy both drinks anyways, handing the milk tea to the other.
@โงห k. dawon "That's like... Two coffees in a day." Jihoon point out, staring at Daewon in confusion as he taps his fingers on the table behind him that he's leaning on out of a habit. "I don't really drink coffee but when I do, I prefer it sweet... and with cream." Leaning forward to take a closer look at the vending machine, Jihoon points at one of the canned milk tea instead. "I'll take that one. I'm not sure if I want caffeine in my system right now."
@โงห l. jihoon the other's reaction makes daewon hold back a smile, he wasn't sure, but something inside him told him that the latter enjoyed this new discovery a bit too much. with a nod, daewon follows swiftly after the other, pausing for a brief second to think about jihoon's question. "hmm.. not really? I used to back at uni, now it's.. maybe one in the morning and one sometime after lunch?" he shrugs a bit, stopping at the machine and then looking at jihoon again. "you? also.. anything you fancy?" he motions to the vending machine, looking at it a little closer to check out his options.
@โงห k. dawon Jihoon's eyes widen at the news of the other's major. For some reason, Jihoon can see it and he can't help the smile that starts to grow on his face at the image. Daewon digging in some dirt patches and planting things into the ground. Clearing his throat, Jihoon gets pulled away from his vision and hums a bit, turning to look back at his laundry. He has time. With another nod in agreement to the snack, he makes his way over to the little booth in the corner. "Are you a big coffee drinker?"
@โงห l. jihoon daewon's body naturally moves a little closer too when the other does, he doesn't even realize that now they're just a couple inches away from each other. "journalism? that's pretty cool! maybe I should look up your name to read some of your articles? I'm an architect, I enjoy designing gardens the most though.. good thing people seem to care a lot about that nowadays." a small chuckle leaves his lips before his eyes briefly wander around the place, spotting a vending machine at the corner of the room. "maybe.. I could get you a snack? instant coffee..? unless you're not planning on waiting here until your clothes are done?"
@โงห k. dawon "Ahh.. I guess we're both new then? I came back a while ago but I'm here for my job now. I was a journalism major, you?" For some reason, he cannot get himself to stop the words from coming out his mouth. Jihoon was never known to be a talker and often hated small talks like this. But here he is, casually chatting with the other despite standing kind of far away from each other. He soon realizes how awkward things are and attempts to fix it by stepping a bit closer. It'll help him hear the other better anyway, he reasons for himself. There's something about the other that makes Jihoon feel comfortable, perhaps they were connected in their past life. Maybe that's a ridiculous stance to take but nothing else can explain the way he feels with Daewon now though.
@โงห l. jihoon 'jihoon' daewon repeats to himself in his mind, wondering if he had known that before it would've made any difference – would he have looked for the other? probably not, daewon was too focused in his studies and work back then. it didn't matter though, he knows it now and he has a feeling it's a name he won't ever forget. "ah, yes. I've just moved too, actually... just yesterday to be more exact. I'm still getting everything properly set up. I was from seoul. did you come back to korea just now? sorry, what did you study?"
@โงห k. dawon Racking his brain to see if he remembers hearing the name Daewon, Jihoon, unfortunately, comes up empty and begins to frown at himself. That's upsetting but no matter. He shakes off the feeling and clears his throat. "I'm Jihoon..." he trails off, not knowing what else to say before he finally realizes. Oh shoot, he's only really here for laundry and nothing else but here he is, making small talk with a stranger. "I just moved here." He blurted out in the moment of silence between them, looking over at the other with a small tilted of his head. "You.. live here?"
@โงห l. jihoon the other's final comment has daewon a little too happy, almost proud even. "it's daewon, nice to finally meet you..?" he trails off as he holds out a hand for a handshake, still a little in disbelief, but happy nonetheless and somewhat giddy. it's a mix of feelings daewon doesn't think he has felt before. back in those days he acknowledged a possible crush, but he had priorities he couldn't postpone just to pursue someone he didn't think he would ever see again upon coming back to korea.
@โงห k. dawon Jihoon blinks a couple of times at the other before cracking a small smile, nodding his head. "I do.. hang out around the library a lot.." He murmurs, trailing off as his mind wanders over to the memories of him at the library and he does vaguely remember always catching the gaze of someone. Ah, yes. There was another student there who somehow was always at the library when he was. They would always make eye contact when Jihoon walked in and sometimes even throughout the hours that they were there too. They never spoke but Jihoon was always aware of the other. "I do kinda remember you now that I'm thinking back. What's your name?" He asks head tilted a bit as he waits for the other to speak up again.
@โงห l. jihoon either all the machines around them running were too loud or his heart was pounding quite hard, loud enough that he could not only feel but also hear it. "really?!" he asked quite unsure, mostly to himself as if to reassure himself that yes, it is definitely the guy he used to steal glances from afar back then. out of all places he has been, how did he meet the latter again here? daewon could care less though and that was obvious by the smile that slowly took over his features as realization hit him. "it's you. I mean- I.. yeah well, I used to hang out at the library a lot back then, I think I saw you a few times? We never talked though, so it's okay if you don't know me." a little chuckle leaves his lips, now once again a little worried that this all would sound too psycho of him – why would someone remember a person they never talked to? in fact it's a mystery even to daewon himself.
@โงห k. dawon When the other looked away, Jihoon cleared his throat and immediately finds himself flushing red from embarrassment. He knew he was never good at the whole romance thing but to just say uh at a random man is a crazy act on its on. But after hearing the other speak, Jihoon looks back up, meeting the gaze of the other as he thinks about the question. "I.. did. I- Did we go to the same uni?" He asks quietly, head tilted as he thinks a little harder. The university's quite big and has a Korean international transfer program. He's not surprised that they may of have gone to the same uni if that's the case. But Jihoon thinks a little harder about his life there. He always hang around his 3 or 4 friends so he feels like he would remember if someone who looks like the other is aware of him.
@โงห l. jihoon it was only when the other's eyes met his own that daewon got out of his daze, with a small clear of his throat he looked away – a bit too quickly, as if for a second there he had considered running away to hide his embarrassment from being caught staring quite shamelessly, but instead he looked at the other again wondering if the latter recognized him too. it didn't seem like it. would it be too creepy if after all this time he remembers the other? daewon knew for sure it's the same person. "uh... sorry, I... you look quite familiar. did you ever study abroad...?"
@โงห k. dawon Jihoon walks into the laundromat, dragging his little cart of worn clothes behind him as he sighs. He hates coming here. It's loud and overly warm, the light makes his head hurt and it's always filled with people who are for some reason a little too chatty than necessary. He steels himself to spend the next couple of minutes here and begins to dump his clothes in the machine as fast as humanly possible. But in the mid-throw, he feels his skin prickle over. Someone is staring at him and he stiffens in his spot. What the heck, can't a man do his laundry in peace? Huffing, he finishes stuffing everything in before running the cycle, making sure detergent and fabric softener is in. When his laundry is taken care of, he spins around and finds the source of the gaze, making eye contact with who, Jihoon thinks, is one of the most attractive man ever. "Uh-" is all that comes out of his mouth as he stands there, blinking like an idiot at the other.
@โงห l. jihoon looking for a place to hide from the chaos of seoul dawon had just moved, and in between the mess he hasn't really fully furnished his new place yet – and he didn't expect to need a laundromat visit so soon but here he is. just as he stuffs the rest of his clothes into the washing machine he sees a figure walking to the machine nearby... a weirdly familiar figure. 'it's him?' he thinks to himself, surprised and even a bit scared at first. the guy he met a while ago during his exchange program, the one he saw quite often at the library but not anywhere else, the one he didn't even get to know the name, but the face was carved in the back of his mind. dawon froze in place, staring a bit too much for comfort.
