@โงห y. shuhua as much as sunwoo wanted to lie to himself and deny it, sunwoo knew he kind of missed the girl just by hearing her voice responding to his questions, because without even he could control it, he slightly turned his head to glance at girl. oh how he wanted to look at that face a little longer, yet the image of the clip he saw last night kept flashing in the back of his mind the moment he caught a glimpse of her face feature. almost felt like he was rolling his eyes at the girl, sunwoo diverted his gaze back towards the road just right when a bus came over.
It wasn’t the bus he was supposed to take. he knew exactly this bus was going to the very opposite direction of his apartment. but shuhua was there looking at him at the door, and their eyes finally met for what feels like a goddamn long minute for sunwoo and before sunwoo’s brain could decide, his feet already decided for himself as they brought him to follow the girl’s steps getting on to the bus.
a little harsher than he meant to, he nudged--or /pushed/--shuhua’s back to make the girl move forward to go up into the bus seats. “does a spoiled brat like you even know how to take a bus?” he stated in a tone of an accusation as he pull his transportation card out of his pocket, even brushed the girl’s hand off the card tapping machine when she tried to tap her card, then tapping his card twice to pay for both of them.
the bus departed and sunwoo held onto the hand rail while following closely behind shuhua. It was already late and the bus was almost empty except for two other people at the far behind in the back--perhaps three because one was sleeping and sinking down so far in the seat and couldn’t be seen. sunwoo took the seat next to shuhua, still putting a rather sour expression on his face and not looking at the female doctor at all.
“what happened to your car? did you not take care of the maintenance correctly? you know you should always check the oil and fluids. bet you won’t even know if your car’s engine sounded differently. girls really be riding cars without knowing how to take care of it--” without thinking much and just letting his mouth run to nag, he continued with his accusation agenda, more likely because he really had a lot of things inside his mind about her clip that was still vivid behind his eyes and his mouth really wanted to vent it all out.
@โงห k. sunwoo “why are you here? where’s your car?”
the voice was unmistakable, cutting through the chilly evening air like a familiar melody. for a fleeting moment, her swirling thoughts stilled, her worries dissolving into the background.
shuhua turned toward the source, a faint smile tugging at her lips. there he stood—kim sunwoo. days had passed since they’d last crossed paths, their overlapping duties conspiring to keep them apart. yet now, here he was, her colleague and, unbeknownst to most, her unexpected refuge from the chaos of their shared profession. she almost chuckled at the irony, the way fate seemed to delight in orchestrating moments like these.
“doctor kim,” she said with a playful tilt of her head, her voice teasing but soft. “or should i call you sunwoo, since we’re technically off duty?” her gaze lingered on him, the warmth in her eyes betraying an unspoken familiarity.
but something about him seemed... different. the easy charm he usually carried like second nature was absent, replaced by a quiet tension. his jaw was set, his brow faintly creased, as though he were grappling with something just out of reach.
“it’s in the shop,” she said with a resigned sigh, answering his question before he could press further. “someone sideswiped me. lucky me, huh?”
he opened his mouth to respond, but the distant rumble of an approaching bus cut through the stillness. shuhua pulled her coat tighter around her shoulders, brushing off invisible flecks of dust as she turned toward the sound.
at the bus door, she hesitated, glancing back over her shoulder. “are you coming, kim sunwoo?” her tone was light, laced with a hint of challenge that belied her curiosity.
the words hung in the air, their meaning layered and deliberate. it wasn’t just a question—it was an offer, a thread stretched between them, waiting to see if he’d take hold.
@โงห y. shuhua there was nothing in sunwoo's mind when he finally finished his shift and walked out of the hospital towards the nearest bus stop to take a ride back home like usual, other than his comfy bed and his pillows. he felt his back was getting stiff and his legs were getting sore after all of the work to run around hospital throughout his long shift that day and all he wanted to do was to hibernate through the night before going back to work again early tomorrow morning.
it was all that was on his mind before he brought his feet closer to the bus stop and noticed someone he knew was there—yeh shuhua. the image of his comfy pillows suddenly disappeared and was immediately replaced by something he just saw last night. it started just like some other nights when he, just like any other normal men out there, needed to release his pent up frustrations into his hand. he was just looking for some good clips to turn him on when a familiar face appeared on his screen through a less than a minute short clip. the face he would immediately notice in a heartbeat from all the occasions they have had before.
sunwoo was entirely not prepared to see all of those expressions he had seen only when she was underneath him to be on a screen, and to be exact, on a public site. he always knew she wasn't so much conventional—after all, they wouldn't have done what they have been doing if she was—but he wouldn't have thought that shuhua had shown it to the world too. well, it was stated that it was leaked from the private paid social media site, but still, to say sunwoo was shocked to see the girl he's been having in his bed was sharing her other encounters with other man and even flaunting her private parts to the camera was definitely an understatement. he was beyond shocked.
not even trying to shove the image of the clip to the back of his mind, and after exhaling a loud sigh, he walked towards the bus stop and towards the girl, eventually standing next to shuhua yet facing forward to the road and not looking at the female doctor, not even sitting next to her. his face might not even giving the best look because he did feel so sour at the girl and he wasn't trying to hide it at all.
"why are you here? where is your car?" he asked out loud. the way he was not looking at the girl at all could be seen like he was talking to the air, though it was obvious that there were only the two of them at the bus stop at the moment. in all his honesty, sunwoo did want to see her. she's his favourite colleague, also his favourite 'friend'. but he couldn't bear to look at her at the moment as he still couldn't get rid of the clip he saw and he still felt his blood was getting boiled again recalling that.
her loafers did these sounds multiple times, an evidence that she was getting antsy. this was shuhua’s first time in a while riding a bus, and she already forgot that she was too early for the next bus so she was forced to wait for a few minutes. despite already sitting down, she would stand and look over the highway, wishing that the vehicle would come earlier. of course, that would be impossible, unless she has the power of the gods. now that’s something to tell to her future grandchildren.
she impatiently grabbed her phone, the idea of waiting already pisses her off, what more for the current situation she was in. the reason for her sudden change of routine was her car. some dumb, drunk jackass hit the car’s rear end the other night, the bumper almost falling off its place. to make things worse, the drunkard hit on her, after stating that her car suddenly stopped that’s why he hit it.
the car was parked.
ing. parked.
it took all of her sane energy as a doctor on duty to calmly settle the incident. if she was not on the premises of the hospital, she might have given his gonads a jab or two.
either way, shuhua was still finding this new circumstance quite beneficial. she was able to enjoy the polluted air (what a doctor, huh?). the vast noise of the city, just the bustling streets, it felt familiar and strange but somewhat comforting. she inwardly sighed, dramatically; and leaned backwards, the wall of the shed catching her, “why must i suffer such fate?”
