@park sunghoon he stared at the latter who had just introduced himself, wondering why the hell this guy decided to introduce himself in the quiet library. he DID decide to sit next to this man and unintentionally caused a huge scene, but nothing the man could not just ignore. still it would be rude to ignore the guy whose space he just occupied. a business major huh? what do they learn about? "um hi.. sunghoon park. i'm kim taerae. i am a freshman." he introduced himself as quickly as possible, staring at sunghoon's hand. his palms were sweating profusely and he didn't want to extend a wet hand, so hurriedly he wiped his hands on his jeans and shook the man's hand.
looking away, he grabbed a book out of his backpack titled '10,000 University Level Math Problems to Solve'. this was his favorite purchase ever since getting into university. he would solve problems on problems and time would just fly by. each problem solved was hit by a wave of dopamine that powered him to work through the next question. he loved math like how a kid would love his toys. his fingers grazed across the workbook, taking in the smoothness of the pages, sniffing the overworked on book as he carefully opened to the page he was working on, bookmarked by a full body Shanks bookmark. he mumbled a quick "yabai" upon seeing how cool Shanks looked in the bookmark as he took out the bookmark and carefully pressed down the pages making sure not to crinkle the workbook too much. his books needed to be in pristine condition.
but wait. his eyes nervously peered over at this park sunghoon guy, wondering if their attention was still on him. surely he doesn't want to.. talk to him? but would it be rude to ignore him? taerae mentally sighed, it is definitely an opportunity to make friends. "what are you doing in this spot? i've never seen you here before." he asked, genuinely curious about why this man decided to take his spot before quietly mumbling to himself, "this was my spot.."
@kim taerae "nice seat...?"
sunghoon echoed, confusion apparent on his favorable countenance. a little dip appearing above his left brow followed by a small tilt of head. the male closed his book, the deepest shade of crimson paperback and the front cover imprinted in gilded fonts tilted — "poetics by aristotle."
his index finger posed as a temporary bookmark as he observed the stranger akin to a whirlwind of unpredictable and hasty movements, the squealing of the chair's legs dragged along the floorboard earning a grimace from him and a couple of head turns towards their direction.
not that he cared. he was purely amused.
"be my guest." he replied, calmly.
his left elbow rested upon the tabletop, his torso facing towards his fidgety companion who had settled beside his seat.
"hey. I am sunghoon park from business administration. " the hand slipped from between the pages of the book to extend forward.
@park sunghoon preferring a life of structured routines, everyday from 4pm to 7pm, taerae would head to the library to sit by his favorite spot in the corner near the window. it was the spot that cleared his mind of any negative feelings as he watched the birds soar across the sky as the day whispers its farewell.
getting off his classes, he slung his bag across his shoulder and headed to the library, to that exact spot, to do the exact same things as usual. so why was it that when he arrived at the spot, it was already occupied?
routinely, since the day he entered this school, he found this spot and claimed it everyday from 4pm to 7pm without fail. so who was this man occupying his spot? didn't he know that it was technically His? although it was unspoken and unwritten.
being unconfrontational, taerae could only stand there awkwardly as if he was a broken machine who reached a programming 404 error, body and speech failing to function. he knew that standing there was even worse, given that the man definitely thought that he was strange, but he didn't expect the man to actually address him, his mind snapping back to reality hearing the words from the latter's mouth.
"oh uh. umm.." taerae stuttered nervously, "uhhh..", his fingers intuitively pointed to the occupied seat, "nice seat!" he uttered out, failing to deliver his message properly.
almost immediately, he decided that this won't do. shanks wouldn't act like a fool like he just did. gathering up his courage, he grabbed the seat at the table and placed the chair down next to the man and pointed to the new seat. "i'm going to sit here," and so he sat down without waiting for a reply, his eyes darting rapidly between the unknown man and the table in front of him, well aware of how awkward this present situation was. he could not move.
@kim taerae the quietude is punctuated by the unsynchronized flipping of pages, occasionally by the impermanent residents inside the library. albeit, scarcely populated than usual.
the scent of wood varnish still lingered in the air, which was precisely why sunghoon chose to remained seated by the windows. the ravern haired, preferred the reposeful corner over the aisles barricaded by tall selves filled with spine-fronted books, with a few cavity here and there.
everything was serene. sunghoon was fully engrossed in completing the current book, opened before him on the tabletop. his fingers drumming at the periphery of the table, in a mindless beat.
but there was just one thing, or rather one presence loitering near the space he'd occupied that perturbed his concentration.
"do you want something from me?" he asked dryly. slowly, tipping his head up to address the strange before his. his left brow raised, inquisitively.
@choi yeonjun Breathing out deeply, belle nervously made her way on over to the library. Eyeing the doors, her heart hammered with trepidation of what's to come. Eye to eye with you of all persons. One on one too. We wouldn't be surrounded by others annoying us left and right, where we cannot seem to get a moments peace. This thought alone is what caused the younger to walk through the doors all too easily, bumping her hip against the door and flashing a small smile at the sitting in librarian. Bowing her head and offering a muffin, as a greeting. "You must be hungry, munch on that." She Whispers, not wishing to disturb anyone and that's when her eyes met your foxy, dark orbs. Her own widening, breath hitching and heart skipping a couple of beats. Lips parting in awe as she gulps down a lump lodged in and she's smiling once before walking on over to you. Coffee in one hand and the muffins in the other. Thankfully this library allows us to snack when hungry due to overtime studies,,once we don't make too much noise. Not like other students follow the rules too well after all. Once saddled up to the table you're at, it's as if belle heart couldn't stop pounding rapidly in her small chest, making her breath come out in short spurts. "Hello yeonjunnie.."
@shim hyewon He had spent the rest of the day wondering if she'd even show. Surely she would, right? Surely what he was feeling she was feeling it too, she wouldn't of just been writing those words for nothing, right? No there was no way what was going on between them was something he was imagining. He'd gotten to the library earlier to try and at least think of what to say, but... His brain had decided today of all days was the one to get blocked up. He'd found somewhere to settle down, not even opening his books to make it seem like he was studying, trying to avoid looking at the entrance door while waiting for her to show.
