@☘︎┊nie taeyong ᵃ The instant relief when Taeyong said he would come was too obvious, it washed over his entire being within a second and his body sunk into the wall while he waited, his eyes staring ahead and absolutely nothing while he got lost in his thoughts. When his friend approached he quickly snapped out of it, nodding his head with a small smile in response as he reached out to pat his shoulder.

"I'm okay." He wasn't really lying. Right now he felt quite alright. Earlier in the day? Not at all. Only an hour or so before he'd emptied the entire contents of his stomach in the bathroom, and that was after barely being able to stomach food all morning in the first place.

"I'm just.. not feeling well, that's all.." He chewed his thumbnail again, eyes glancing around the hall before looking at Taeyong again, his nerves shining in his eyes, "I think it's been like nearly three weeks now.. and it honestly feels like it's getting worse." He pushed off the wall to start walking, a hand dropping down to rub over his stomach slowly, "I'm tired all the time.. Can't eat.. Nauseous.."

@☼┊wen taehyung ᵒ His day had been uneventful so far. Taeyong would enter a class, sit at his desk, wait for the professor’s arrival, attend the whole lecture, then leave for the next lesson. He managed to get through all of his classes for the day when his phone buzzed with a notification—he was stowing his books in his bag, already planning to have lunch with Sooyoung or find Karina or Eunbi.

Taeyong picked up the device after pulling the zip closed, slinging the bag over his shoulder with one hand while the other unlocked his phone to find the notification. It was a text sent by Taehyung, and the content had the alpha frowning with worry. He sent a quick response before making his way out of the classroom.

‘Sure, I’ll be there in a min.’

Taeyong navigated through the hallways, passing students on their way to the cafeteria. He held his phone in front of him, the location sent by Taehyung open on his screen. Finally, as he turned the corner, he found the omega standing outside the classroom, waiting for him.

He quickly approached Taehyung, standing in front of the latter to catch his attention. He waved, though the worry did not leave his expression. He signed simply. ‘Are you okay?’

@☘︎┊nie taeyong ᵃ Something wasn't right. Something felt strange and off. And it had been that way for a couple of weeks now, roughly. He found himself frequently needing to nap during the day and even after napping he still felt a little lethargic, just totally run down. He'd been doing his best to push through, considering it was just him to look after himself now.

Then the food aversion started, his usual favourites or comfort foods had started to become unappealing, then came the nausea - it wasn't unbearable but it turned him off eating altogether most of the time. After that he started to have what he could only consider very .... odd dreams. He dreamed of locations he'd never seen but they felt so familiar, and he dreamed of children, baby wolves following behind him as if they were his. It all felt familiar and when he woke up he couldn't shake the weird feelings.

After the third week came along and he didn't seem to be getting any better - if anything he was getting worse - he finally decided enough was enough and he needed to get it checked out, something could be seriously wrong. After classes had wrapped up that day he waited around until everyone dispersed before stepping out into the hall and leaning on a wall nearby to send a text to Taeyong;
"Hey, if you're not doing anything would you be able to come with me to see the nurse? I'm sure it's nothing but I've not been feeling well for a few weeks now and a little worried. All good if you can't make it though!"
At the end of the message he attached a pin with his location, waiting to see what his friend would say back while he chewed on his thumbnail nervously.

@❀┊jiang wheein ᵒ Eunbi had always did her best in her classes especially since she wasn’t just studying for herself, but also in honor for her twin. It doesn’t help that she sometimes get into trouble due to her topographical disorientation causing her to be in off limit places.

It was only then did Eunbi realized she opened the door to a classroom. “My apologies I didn’t mean to bother you.” She said, and sign at the same time.

@☁︎┊lan chanyeol ᵇ Kang nodded in agreement, already making a mental note to pick up some apples on his next grocery run. “Apples it is then. Though I’d love to learn how you make that apple sauce. Sounds like a useful skill.” he admitted with a small smile, genuinely curious about the process.

Hearing Chanyeol’s doubt about finding someone, Kang’s expression softened. “I’m sure you’ll meet someone in due time. With your kindness and the way you care for others, it’s only a matter of when, not if.” he said sincerely, hoping to reassure the other.

When Chanyeol mentioned arranging a playtime, Kang’s face lit up with excitement. He nodded eagerly, already looking forward to spending more time with the pups. Turning his attention to Woo, Kang smiled gently and leaned closer to the little one. “Goodbye, Woo. Be good, alright?” Carefully and tenderly, Kang shifted Woo into Chanyeol’s arms, ensuring the pup was comfortable before letting go. His movements were slow, as if reluctant to part with the little bundle of warmth. Once Woo was securely back with Chanyeol, Kang straightened and gave them both a warm smile. “Thank you for letting me hold him. I’ll see you both again soon, I hope.”

Nodding to the others surprise. “Yeah~ I tend to seven little ones. They’re just amazing.” His eyes saddening for a moment. “I highly doubt it.. But thank you.”

Chanyeol let a small quiet laugh leave him. “You can move silly. He will just keep adjusting until he finds his special spot.” The beta encourages Kang to move around, but checking the time, he smiles sadly. “I must take the little one my friend. @❀┊jiang jia ᵒ younghoon looked down at jia, a faint smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. amusement danced in his dark eyes as he observed her efforts to maintain composure. jia was a fierce woman - sharp-tongued and confident - but younghoon had a knack for finding the cracks in even the toughest facades. he could see it now, the subtle falter in her poise every time his critiques landed.

' I haven’t had the pleasure of lectures in this part of the academy, miss jia,' he said, his tone deliberately nonchalant, each word a thread of teasing woven into the air between them. the way her expression tightened ever so slightly only fueled his amusement.

her sweet smile, practiced and polite, was a sharp contrast to the way her words stung. it was like watching a predator try to disguise its claws behind velvet gloves. her pointed critiques of him had a precision that intrigued him. a small voice in the back of his mind whispered, you done yet? but he wasn’t ready to let her win this little game. Not yet.

' as you say,' he murmured, his smirk widening when she brought up his habit of criticizing her teaching methods. he leaned in slightly as he passed her, his voice dropping to a whisper just beside her ear. ' should I write it all down? just in case I want to revisit it later.'

before she could react, younghoon stepped past her, his expression smoothing into calm neutrality as he took a seat in the first row. he pulled out his notebook, placing it neatly on the desk, and straightened his posture. with a composed, almost indifferent air, he waited for the class to begin, but the faint trace of his earlier smirk still lingered, invisible to all but those who knew where to look.

@☁︎┊lan younghoon ᵃ Jia's fingers tightened around the stack of papers as the young alpha finally approached, his presence impossible to ignore. Traditional robes, meticulously styled, swayed softly with his measured steps, the richness of the fabric catching the corridor's sterile light. His bowed upon reaching her almost felt rehearsed in Jia's opinion. But if he believed such formality could erase the sting of their prior encounter, he was sorely mistaken.

"Good day, Mister Younghoon," she greeted, her voice smooth but edged with a sharpness that betrayed her impatience. She inclined her head, a gesture of courtesy that fell just short of warmth, her gaze locking onto his icy blue eyes for a moment too long. The look was deliberate, a subtle reminder that she hadn't forgotten their previous clash.

Her lips curved faintly, not into a smile but something closer to wry amusement as her eyes flicked to the crumpled paper in his hand. "Lost, I presume?" she remarked, her tone light but pointed, each word neatly clipped. Jia wasn't prone to petty remarks, but with Younghoon, the temptation was undeniable.

Her sharp, feline gaze lingered on the offending paper, and a single brow arched with quiet judgment. "Ah," she murmured, as if the situation had suddenly become clear. "I see you've had some... difficulties navigating the building. For the record, Mister Lan, the biology classroom hasn't been in Building A for at least two terms now." Her voice, silk over steel, delivered the observation with the faintest trace of reproach.

She shifted her weight slightly, the papers in her hands tapping rhythmically against her palm, each soft sound cutting through the silence. "Well," she continued, her gaze flicking back to his face, "you've managed to find your way here at last. Let's not waste any more time." Her words were crisp, laced with finality, as she her heel with practiced grace, her heels clicking sharply against the polished floor. She motioned toward the classroom door behind her with a subtle tilt of her head. "Shall we?"

Pausing at the door, Jia rested her hand lightly on the handle. She turned just enough to glance over her shoulder, her dark eyes meeting his with a penetrating intensity. "I trust you'll find today's lesson... enlightening," she said, her voice lower now, deliberate and measured. The faintest quirk of her lips followed. "Though I do hope you've come prepared to listen this time, rather than critique, Mister Lan."

With that, she pushed the door open and stepped inside with the effortless authority of someone who owned the space. The rhythmic click of her heels echoed softly as she crossed the threshold, her commanding presence bringing the room to immediate order. The students straightened instinctively, their chatter fading to silence as they braced themselves for the lesson to begin.

@☁︎┊lan chanyeol ᵇ Kang watched Chanyeol scribble away in his notebook, a small smile tugging at his lips as he observed the other’s excitement. It was contagious, and Kang found himself even more eager to try the banana bread Chanyeol had planned.

"What should I bring?" Kang asked earnestly, tilting his head slightly. "I wouldn’t want to show up empty handed when visiting you and the pups." His tone was warm, reflecting his sincerity.

Hearing the number of pups Chanyeol cared for, Kang’s eyes widened slightly. "Seven?" he echoed, his amazement evident. It was clear that Chanyeol's patience and nurturing nature were extraordinary. "You have such a kind heart." Kang remarked with admiration. "I truly hope you meet someone special to share your dreams with." His words carried genuine warmth and encouragement.

As Woo shifted in his arms, trying to find a cozier position, Kang glanced down at the pup and chuckled softly. "I feel like I shouldn’t move. I don’t want to wake him." he said, his voice lowering instinctively. Despite the warmth of the moment, a flicker of hesitation crossed his expression. He knew he’d have to leave in an hour or so for another engagement, and the thought of handing Woo back and breaking the peaceful moment left him slightly reluctant.

“Please do. You’re welcome anytime. My hours are the Academy’s hours. Sometimes longer when parents are running late.” He chuckles warmly, watching with a fondness that Kang had for Woo. It was nice to see someone else enjoying that warmth. “Seven. Three of which still need bottles. The others range from one to three years old.” He says with pride. Chanyeol leans in, gently pecking the pup’s cheek. Pulling away, he hums. “Ever since I was a teen. I loved taking care of others. Elderly, young, babies. The warmth of the small pup snuggling into his chest brought an unexpected sense of comfort, and a soft, genuine smile spread across his face. Woo’s tiny wiggling before settling against him made Kang chuckle softly. The idea of seeing and holding other pups sparked a different kind of excitement in him. “How many are you looking after?” he asked curiously, his eyes lifting to meet Chanyeol’s. Not wanting to scare the pup, slowly settling the pup in Kang’s arms. Adjusting his arms to better support the little one, while pulling away and watching Woo wiggle before settling in.

“He loves to snuggle. Eats a bunch.” He smiles warmly. “Makes me want one of my own.” Chanyeol states quietly, his eyes softening as he watches Kang with the little one. “I’m hoping this makes you visit me in my daycare. There’s plenty of pups there.” Chanyeol chuckles lightly.

@☼┊wen juyeon ᵃ Now with it just being the two of them there, Hyunjin could take a moment to appreciate the mysterious alpha. One of the students that has been able to catch his attention and not bore him. Never one to complain about... much of anything really. But there was still something else about him that tugs at Hyunjin. Something about the other that he just needs to find out. Figure out exactly how Juyeon would act different. The true him maybe. And if the younger get an eyeful, among other things, there was nothing to complain.

"Juyeon." He replies, a light tilt to his voice.

The flat tone of the other only has his smile taking on more of a smug upturn. There was that dull, dazed, expression on the alpha's face. He keeps his gaze on him, watching that methodical way of moving. If Hyunjin twists his body in just a way so that the material of his shirt rides up a bit from where Juyeon might as well have been burning holes in, it's very purposeful. It isn't as if there was anything between them that they hadn't seen before. Well... that isn't entirely true. But the younger could stand to not think about that for a while longer. Why ruin his fun before getting anything remotely interesting out of this? Besides, he knew how much he affected the older student.

"Act? Who said anything about acting?" He coos when Juyeon comes close again, a trail of warmth getting left behind from the brief touch over his uniform. His own hands reach to run over the alpha's chest, soon sliding up over his shoulders.

Hyunjin's touch is gentle in the way fingers trail up over the other's neck with faint scratch lines over his pulse, before cupping his cheeks. "Don't you know that I still need your assistance?" he leans down, so close that if either of them moved any closer, they would meet in a kiss. But that was one thing Hyunjin made sure was never on the table. It was too intimate. Their situation just one for convenience. Just for pleasure. Instead, fingers thread through dark strands to give a, not so gentle, tug to urge his head up. Nosing under his jaw to, instead, brush a barely there kiss over his pulse. "Besides, you've been /such/ a big help I don't want to stop yet." They hadn't had a proper session that involved schoolwork in weeks.

"Although, since you've already given us our privacy... What gave it away?" A knowing grin is sent up when Hyunjin nudges Juyeon's legs open and sinks down to his knees in between them. "How do you want me?"

When the conversation turned to holding the pup, Kang admitted with a sheepish smile. “Yeah, this is my first time.” He sat still as Chanyeol carefully settled the little one into his arms, following his instructions to let the pup squirm until it found a comfortable spot. Sure enough, the tiny creature wriggled a bit before settling snugly against Kang’s chest, nuzzling into him.

A warm smile spread across Kang’s face as he gazed down at the pup. He let out a soft coo, cradling it closer instinctively. “You’re right, he’s adorable.” Kang murmured, his voice filled with genuine awe. It was a moment he hadn’t expected, but one he found surprisingly heartwarming.

The wind blew in from the open door, causing Baekhyun to curl himself tighter in his jacket. What a shame, he thought, seeing Sehun shiver without any warmth to protect his upper body. The janitor could have indulged in some tea then.

He started to rid the table of the rubbish, when his movements halted upon hearing incoming footsteps. Baekhyun eyed the professor warily, assessing the latter of potential attacks. A foreign weight was on the collar of his fleece jacket– and it was gone, off his body and onto the professor's. The cold promptly bit at him, goosebumps rising along his arms.

Baekhyun said nothing but allowed the taller to get his gripe in. His duty was done; there was almost nothing left to be said. With an unhurried pace, he collected his tools and moved to snatch the mop that was still in the cocky male's grip. He carried all tools in one arm, holding the cleaning rag in the other palm; casually, he flicked his wrist and slapped the rag to the taller's cheek. "You missed a spot."

Baekhyun sneered at the other before bracing himself to face the onslaught of chilly blasts outside the lecture hall. He would allow his fleece jacket to be used by the pitiful professor. Rolling the mop bucket out the opening, his strides did not break as he called over his shoulder, "Take your damn papers and shut the door after you leave."

@☼┊wen hyunjin ᵒ Class was boring. He knew all this already. His gen-eds were mind-numbing; he hated being lectured on stuff he already knew, he hated when people interrupted the teacher's droning with a stupid question, usually one that would make them repeat what had been said not even five minutes before. The suppressants made it pretty easy to zone out during them, let the teacher's voice trail off into indistinct, muffled sentences. His eyes were always wide and unfocused, and he was always completely still other than the slow, methodical tap of the eraser side of his pencil against paper. Or the clicker part of the pen, if he was out a pencil. He was good at acting like he was listening, though. In the muffled nonsense, he'd learned what his name sounded like, and he would tune in to answer questions asked of him before immediately zoning out again.

This day was like any other. The bell didn't even bring him back to earth this time, but the sight of someone in front of him, and the familiar scent mixed with equally familiar cologne. He blinked, his rhythmic, silent, tapping pausing as he looked up at his visitor.

"Hyunjin," he said flatly.

Not that he wasn't happy to see him. He enjoyed seeing the youngest of the Wen heirs. Namely because he knew what it meant. They didn't associate except for when the younger needed... well, to let loose. It had started as honest to the gods tutoring, but... He forgot who had made the first move, but nevertheless, the scene they made just for themselves in the library would play in his mind almost nightly everyday since it happened.

But then again, that may just mean he was obsessed, maybe even a little unhealthily. He had one of the prospective heirs of their pack coming back pretty frequently just to have some fun... Could you blame him? He was pretty, he was warm, he was dominant, he was always wet, he was nobility, essentially. He was everything good, he was a dream. At least, to touch and to look at. The only thing he wasn't, was Juyeon's and Juyeon's alone. Why would he ever be, but the obsessive part of him felt the ache in his teeth every time the other was around, this time being no exception.

"There's no one here, you can drop the act," he added, his gaze unwaveringly pointed at the slight curve of the other's waist even as he stood and walked to the door to lock it. "You want to right here I assume," Juyeon's voice lowered, and he dragged a hand over Hyunjin's stomach before he sat back down in his chair.

the mop clattered to the floor, yanking him from his thoughts. sehun’s gaze fell to the tool, then back to baekhyun, who clearly expected him to pick it up. standing half- in the cold air of the classroom, sehun’s skin prickled with goosebumps. he raised an eyebrow, his anger melting into a sly smirk.

' the ?' he asked, voice laced with amusement now. ' you expect me to clean like this? ? why, baekhyun - are you a ? ' his lips curled into a teasing grin, the tension in the room shifting. ' nie baekhyun, the infamous . should we print that in tomorrow’s news? ' he took a deliberate step forward, clutching the mop dramatically. ' or…what is this? you want a show? '

he leaned on the mop for effect, watching as baekhyun plopped into the chair, clearly taken aback by the sudden reversal. sehun’s laugh was low and rich as he continued to toy with him, fully enjoying the unexpected shift in power.

@☁︎┊lan sehun ᵃ Feeling smug about his retort, Baekhyun was caught offguard, his breath stuck in his throat as his arms were forcefully twisted back. The mop's clatter onto the ground was the only sound heard in that pause, before Sehun breached the silence with his threat. Hairs on the back of the janitor's neck rose, yet he felt more repulsed than anything. Baekhyun growled back in the same intensity as the alpha. " off with your Lan rules. I am not bound by them; you are."

He let out a huff and stumbled when pushed away, grabbing onto the desk in support. Baekhyun whirled around sharply, his uncovered eye immediately latching onto the absurd sight of the general on his knees over his dirtied, expensive garment. The janitor barked out a mocking laugh. The scene pissed him off. "I have no regard for your apology, especially when you act like a child, crying over pretentious, overpriced items. No, i want you to clean up your damn mess."

The dried muddy footprints, crumbles of soil and dirt on the table, and disorganized lecture hall in general laid around them in evidence. Baekhyun wasn't going to let the matter go so easily, not when it had happened countless times. He had to ingrain the concept of cleanliness such that the other didn't apologize yet repeat the same actions. He paused by the mop. With a practiced kick, the janitor used his foot to hurl up the stick, catching it in one palm.

"Show me the Lans are as honourable as they claim to be." He tossed the mop to Sehun. Walking over to the neglected chair, Baekhyun picked it up — righting his wrong — and sat on it, crossing his arms expectantly. 2A Lecture Theatre would be sparkling by the time the Lan wolf was done.

@❀┊jiang jia ᵒ lan younghoon was a curious mix of tradition and individuality. clad in elegant, traditional clothing, his striking platinum blond hair made him impossible to miss in any crowd. a true lan to the core, he carried himself with the poise and righteousness expected of his lineage, and his sharp intellect was undeniable.

but what set younghoon apart most was his unyielding passion for biology. as a child, he spent countless hours poring over the massive library at his family estate, devouring every text penned by the esteemed lan scientists. by the time he left home, he could recite those books almost by heart, always yearning for more.

when he enrolled at fenrir academy, his decision to study biology was instinctive, driven by a hunger for deeper knowledge. on the surface, he appeared calm, but beneath that composed exterior was a fire of anticipation, eager to uncover new wonders in the field.

that fire dimmed quickly. the first lecture left him disheartened - his expectations clashed with the reality of professor jia’s teaching. younghoon, never one to hold his tongue, approached her after class, armed with books and unwavering confidence. he systematically dismantled several of her claims, backing each correction with meticulous citations.

it wasn’t the kind of interaction most professors welcomed. and certainly not one professor jia would forget, or so he thought.

but lan younghoon had never let fear of stepping on toes deter him.

fast forward to the present day, and younghoon had taken a step toward his future by signing up as a substitute teacher - a prestigious opportunity offered to promising sixth years to prepare them for their days as university professors. yet, despite his confidence in the subject, the logistics of teaching still eluded him. for one, the biology class had changed its location, leaving him standing in the corridor with a crumpled paper in hand and a confused expression on his otherwise composed face.

scratching the back of his neck, he scanned the hall until his gaze landed on a familiar figure - professor jia. her presence was unmistakable, a sharp reminder of their earlier clashes. gathering himself, he smoothed his jacket and approached with the practiced politeness expected of a lan.

' good day, professor, ' he greeted, bowing his head with impeccable respect, his icy eyes meeting hers briefly before shifting away. the formalities were flawless, but there was no mistaking the underlying hint of tension as he prepared to ask for directions.

@☼┊wen jihyo ᵇ jaehyun vividly recalled the first time jihyo stepped into his classroom. she wasn’t one of his students, but her reputation preceded her - a prodigy beta who turned heads with her intellect and curiosity. her name had come up more than once in the staff room, spoken with admiration by her professors.

young, brilliant, and inquisitive, jaehyun thought. the perfect recipe for someone who could ignite his passion for teaching.

he remembered their first encounter like it was yesterday: she had approached him after a lecture, tentative but determined, with a notebook clutched to her chest and a spark of curiosity in her eyes. her shy but thoughtful questions had pulled him into a world of endless possibilities, their discussions growing from brief exchanges to something he now looked forward to every week.

their weekly meetings became a ritual, an hour set aside exclusively for their shared fascination with foraging and ecology. and today was no exception. fressed crisply in a white dress shirt and black pants, jaehyun was leaning over an open book when the familiar sound of footsteps stirred him. he glanced up to see jihyo standing in the doorway, her eyes eager, her presence lighting up the room like clockwork.

a smile tugged at the corner of his lips as he closed the book, moving it aside. ' ah, miss jihyo, 'he said warmly, gesturing to the chair beside his desk. ' punctual as ever. your questions never fail to challenge me - they’ve sparked a new kind of enthusiasm in my own research. '

standing, he retrieved another chair, placing it beside his table with care. 'come, sit. I’ve discovered something fascinating just yesterday. did you know that fungi can talk to each other using electrical signals?' he pointed at the book, ' recent studies suggest that fungal networks, known as mycelium, can transmit electrical impulses that resemble communication patterns, similar to how neurons work in the brain. some scientists even liken these networks to a wood wide web because they allow trees and plants to share nutrients, warn each other about dangers, and even exchange chemical signals underground.' his voice trailed off, his eyes gleaming with excitement, the start of yet another deep dive into the natural wonders they both adored.

@☁︎┊lan younghoon ᵃ ╰┈➤ Flashback To a Few Years · · ·

Jia stood just outside her classroom, her posture poised almost statuesque, yet the slight tension in her shoulders betrayed the impatience simmering just beneath the surface. Her eyes scanned the nearly empty hallway before darting back to the documents in her hands. Lan Younghoon. The name stood out on the paper, clean and precise. A young alpha, three years her junior, stepping into the world of teaching. His resume was impeccable, but it didn't put her at ease. Instead, it twisted something in her gut, a faint unease that she couldn't quite shake.

She exhaled, her breath barely more than a whisper, as her gaze on her wrist watch. *Maybe lost?* she wondered, though the idea of him wandering around somewhere in this building felt more like a distant hope than a reality. She shifted her weight, her heels clicking sharply on the polished floor as if to remind the empty corridor of her presence.

It wasn't like her to feel unsettled. She prided herself on staying composed no matter the circumstance but the idea of another person scrutinizing her teaching— the very thing she had spent years refining— made her skin crawl. She couldn't bear the thought of being reduced to something to be judged, observed. The headmaster's words echoed in her mind like an unwelcome refrain.

"It's best for the substitute to see your approach firsthand."

His voice had been steady, insistent as if she needed more eyes on her, more opinions. The thought made her skin prickle.

Her fingers tightened around the stack of papers, her knuckles pale against the crisp white edges. She took a slow breath, trying to steady herself, but it didn't quite work. The longer she stood there, the more the tension coiled in her chest, spreading like a vine through her thoughts.

She exhaled a breath she didn't realize she had been holding, forcing herself to stand taller, straighten her spine. She couldn't let this discomfort show— not now, not when she was supposed to be the one in control. The headmaster's words, the conference within few days, the waiting— everything felt like a weight pressing on her chest but for now, she could only wait for the male to appear.
