“is wonwoo loyal to you, ju?”

the question hung heavy in the air, a stark reminder of the tumultuous state of her marriage.

she knew the answer was a complicated one. wonwoo had always been a possessive and controlling man, often threatening to find other women if she ever stepped out of line. but she had never truly believed that he would actually cheat on her. still, the doubt gnawed at her like a constant source of anxiety. wonwoo has always been her anxiety.

“i don’t know, sooyoung,” she confessed, her voice barely a whisper. “he’s always threatened me about seeing other girls, but i don’t know if he’s ever actually done anything.”

thinking about that man made the wave of guilt washed all over her again as she realized how she should've been honest with sooyoung since the beginning of her marriage. she had kept it a secret for so long, fearing judgment and disapproval.

“i’m so sorry for not telling you about my marriage sooner, soo,” she apologized, her eyes welling up with tears as she looked at the other girl. “it happened a little too sudden and i couldn't guess what you would think of it. i think i was even in denial that the marriage ever happened. i held my pride up too high. i'm really sorry...”

with the back of her hand, juhyun carelessly wiped the tears she shed. she felt a little better after venting it all out to her bestfriend, and she started feeling that she regained her strength back. sooyoung's soothing voice has given her a feeling of being embraced in a warmth she never had when she kept it all alone, although she still felt like the thought of being pregnant with wonwoo’s child has filled her with dread. she was terrified of the future, of the potential consequences of her actions. she hadn’t taken a pregnancy test yet, too afraid to face the reality of the situation.

“i know i haven’t taken a test yet,” she admitted, her voice was quiet. “i’m too scared to know.”

a part of her wished she could just disappear, to escape the chaos of her life. but she knew she couldn’t. she had to face her problems. she was never the type to back out of a problem anyway.

juhyun slided her fingers to tighten the links with sooyoung's, looking up at her with her swollen eyes. her gaze practically reflecting how desperate she was to have sooyoung on her side. she was begging. "can i please stay over here tonight? let's see the result together tomorrow."

listening to the woman opposite of her, sooyoung's heart broke seeing her friend like this - in a messed up state and seeming full of tragedy and turmoil. sooyoung didn't know exactly what her marriage with wonwoo was like, causing the alpha's forehead to crease and she made a mental note at the back of her head to ask juhyun about it later on.

"first of all.... ju- listen, take some deep breaths, in and out okay? calm down." her voice is filled with that soothing warmth, her eyes softening and glimmering a brighter meadow green shade as her hands slide over to cup her friend's and she links her digits with ju's as a small smile plays on her lips. "take it one step at a time hm? no panicking, we don't face our problems with turmoil and a turbulent mind babe, you take it step by step, inch by inch. one problem at a time."

taking a deep breath - sooyoung tried to do it physically in a way so she could coach her friend and show her a means of calming herself down and taking those deep breaths to center her mind. "okay... let me get this straight, basically... he's a son of a - you're unhappy in this marriage, parents forcing your hand - and now you think you're pregnant? could it be stress ju? when we're stressed out, our bodies betray us. however, if not, did you take a test first and foremost? first thing in the morning after waking up? that first-morning urine usually gives a more precise result." sooyoung's voice is calm and gentle as she rubs a thumb over the back of her friend's hand, a small smile playing on her lips.

it's more of a semblance of her emotions in hopes of mirroring that calming effect onto the panicking beta. her eyes are softening as she makes soft shushing sounds - as you'd make with that of a pup, a baby. and her eyes roam over her best friend's features, gliding down to her stomach and back up as her own churned at the thought. sooyoung knows all too well what it's like not wanting a kid right away, heck - if she was in such a position she would be damned and wouldn't be able to function or focus, hence she's being understanding with her friend.

"first of all, we take a test to make sure you're in the clear or not, secondly, if you're negative, we breathe a sigh of relief and I would whip you up a herbal concoction, a drink of sort, a tea that would assist with your cycles, heat/rut, your menstrual cycle. it would also help you with better sleep patterns and most importantly, would help with mood balances and stress, anxiety plays a huge part where this is concerned. been there, done that."

she muses thoughtfully with pursed lips as she hums softly. "now if it's positive, we do not need that man knowing of this - he might pressure you to keep the child, and you don't want that now, do you?" sooyoung clarified, her anger simmering deep within her, her eyes glowing a brighter shade of emerald - something that shows during bursts of passion and then anger. this time, of course, it's the latter. just thinking of wen wonwoo itched at sooyoung's skin in the worst ways possible. she hated the man - even if she doesn't know him personally, but he was frolicking around with her student, jiang chaewon for s sake. does juhyun even know this?

sighing deeply, she looks off to the side, gulping down a deep breath and her head nods once. "then we make you something that would, help get... rid of the complications." even thought the conversation is between the two, her voice dropped lower as she's mentioning quite a sensitive topic. she knows her friend is too kind-hearted, even for a wen woman, she's remarkably strong, enigmatic, and firmly set in her ways, a pureblood at heart, but yet - she knows juhyun is rather soft. "I would be there with you every step of the way, but for now, rather than us panicking over nothing since you maybe have not gotten confirmation, we take a test, yes? and also - you do need to give me some insight into this marriage..." she mumbles and a finger over her cup before bringing it up to her lips and taking a much-needed sip for her next question wanting to slip past her tongue.

juhyun hesitated, her hand hovering over the steaming cup of chamomile tea after she finally sat down next to sooyoung on the bench that barely supported the weight of her worries. she eventually took the cup and took a sip that could hardly swallowed by her seemingly clogged throat. she took a glance at sooyoung—her best friend, her confidante, her comfort place—that has revealed a mix of concern and a subtle undercurrent of anger that stung both of them. she knew sooyoung was hurt, and she couldn’t blame her. the betrayal was undeniable.

a wave of guilt washed over juhyun. she had hidden her marriage from sooyoung. a very big step she took in her life yet she decided to hide it from sooyoung. frankly, it was a decision made in haste and fear. the forced union with wonwoo, a man she loathed, was set by their parents and it had been a nightmare for her. she had never wanted this. her mind was so focusing on her ambition to hold her rank steady in the pack and she never dreamed of such a future with that kind of life partner, additionally, forever. not to mention to think that the one she’s married to was a half-blood, her blood boiled at the thoughts of how much she let herself loose, how much she pressed down her pride, for her so called husband only because her parent wanted to do things for their own goals. yet, here she was, trapped in a loveless marriage with her heart aching in every passing day.

she could see the worry etched on sooyoung’s face, a stark contrast to the usual warmth and light for juhyun. it was as if a part of her had shattered, a piece was lost forever. juhyun ached to mend it, to ease the pain she had caused. but words failed her. she was lost, adrift in a sea of despair.

“i'm…three weeks late,” she finally managed to utter, her voice barely a whisper. her eyes that started to get brimmed with tears, filled with a mix of fear and confusion, met sooyoung's.

juhyun's mind racing. the sudden thought of being pregnant, of carrying that bastard's child, filled her with dread. "sooyoung, do you know how much i hate him? i don't want to have his child. i don't want to get pregnant," she started to ramble on, pouring out her overwhelmed heart, as a single tear rolled down her cheek. juhyun can’t stand herself looking so vulnerable like this. she hated being weak but she really couldn’t hold it anymore. "i never even wanted to get married. i wanted to build my life the way i wanted to. i wanted to be my own person. i've been struggling following what my parents told me to do for my whole life. i've been compromising with everything they wants. but why did they even want to ruin me with this marriage i never want?"

as she felt like her world collapsed, juhyun buried her face in her hands as she started crying, feelings of regrets wrack her whole body. her scents emitting so strongly as her emotions kept coming out. she kept on rambling. "it was my fault. i know i shouldn't have let him touched me. i don't even know what's gotten into me. i wasn't on pills and i'm sure i told him that. but... sooyoung. i just—" juhyun took a shaky deep breathe and halted her sentences with her mind still forming tangled threads. not even passed her mind that she hasn't got any confirmation yet, she hasn't take any tests yet. her mind was just clouded with fear at the moment. something she would never admit anywhere else except in front of sooyoung.

"soo, this was a mistake. it was my fault i wasn’t careful enough. i swear if anything happens, you have to help me to.. to...," she looked up at the other girl. face full of tears trying to finish her sentence. in this rare moment, juhyun even beat herself about it because she was genuinely scared to the point that she just wanted to run away. her logical wen brain still put herself on top of everything and told her to get rid of /anything/ that would ruin her life further, yet she wasn’t sure if her heart even has the strength to.

@☼┊wen juhyun ᵇ the rich scent of cinnamon and apples hit her like a freight train. she knew all too well that juhyun was near, even with the slamming of her car door perking her ears, sooyoung paused her ministrations mindlessly. making sure to pour just the right amount of tea into their cups before placing them down across the table that they would usually sit around and chat about the most mundane of things. gossiping like two highschoolers all over again. sooyoung always had a soft spot for this wen in particular. somehow, the two become close, resulting in them being the best of friends, juhyun is her ride or die and sooyoung would do anything whatsoever for juhyun - no questions asked.

when the counsellor found out about her friend keeping such a deep, dark secret from her -a marriage with wen wonwoo no less, it rocked her, shook her and hurt her in ways the alpha could not have described. she assumed that juhyun would tell her everything - lest invite her to her wedding of all things! but alas, that was not the case. a sense of betrayal washed over sooyoung and a tinge of lemon seeped into the air as juhyun got close. souring her mood and showing just how unhappy, hurt and mildly angry she is that juhyun picked no one else but ing wonwoo of all men to be married to.

the same man that has been sneaking around with one of his students, that she knows of at least - the same student who kept missing her sessions. sooyoung was at the springs one night, taking a walk when she couldn't sleep, jongin was already passed out in bed. so she couldn't bother her omega to keep her company even if he would've wanted to - but alas, as she walked on deeper, that's when she saw them. his hand up chaewon's skirt and she was definitely having an omega rush of pheromones suffocating the area as the girl pathetically whimpered and screamed the man's name. it was embarrassing to see the least, but sooyoung was rather intrigued that a student and professor was so daring.

she wanted to bring it up in a session but alas, chaewon never attends. it infuriates her to no end - and now she's left wondering if this is why. the man is married! to her best friend no less and that makes the woman's jaw clench as she turns around, wordlessly placing the cup before her friend and nudging her chin over. "sit." one word thus far as sooyoung takes in a deep breath. she can smell the hint of worry there lingering in juhyun's blood and she quirked a brow, wondering what the heck is going on with her friend. is it because she just found out about wonwoo's extra-curricular activities? or is it something worst?

"take some deep breaths, drink some of the tea, it's chamomile, it would soothe you, and start whenever you're ready," her voice is soothing, calm and void of chaos, yet deep down, sooyoung still feels the hurt and betrayal lingering in her system, added to the fact that she's worried and a bit uneasy at the sight of a frazzled wen juhyun.

@☘︎┊nie sooyoung ᵃ juhyun's jaw were tensed as she parked her car in front of sooyoung's house. she turned off the engine and took her phone into her hand before getting out from the driver seat. she glanced down at her phone, looking at the last message she received from sooyoung and inwardly sighed in relief noticing how the alpha female seemed to still get worried about her, despite their fight about how sooyoung found out about juhyun's wedding the other day.

the beta clenched her phone in her hand while walked almost hurriedly towards the back of sooyoung's house then continues to step into the botanical garden. they have spent a lot of times together sharing things in that garden and most of the time before, juhyun always felt safe there especially with her bestfriend around. but this time, her mind was so chaotic that she didn't even feel the peaceful atmosphere the garden had always give.

after seeing sooyoung was already there at their usual spot, juhyun stepped closer to her. an audible sigh escaped from her lips when she's close enough for sooyoung to hear. she swallowed her own saliva, not knowing how to even spill everything she's been keeping all by herself. "hey," she looked at the counsellor that was also her bestfriend with a conflicted gaze that hid everything inside. she exhaled another heavy sigh. "so.. how do i even start this.."
