Just thinking about it made his smile disappear for a few seconds.

The beta was almost pouting when the handsome guy was laughing at how he explained the direction but it was because he didn’t ride cars almost at all and didn’t have a licence. After all, when you control the air you can reach where you need without a car. Still he didn’t tell him about his powers as he wanted to steal a little more from his time. The song in the background was nice. He started to hum to the sound without even noticing. The smirk and his state made him pout for real now, watching him turning the GPS he just gave him his address. “I don’t drive.” He confessed to him gently, still not wanting this night to end he just looked at Jaehyun softly. “I’m really glad… we decided to go on a date.” He whispered shyly as his cheeks turned pink, staring at the window as he felt quite shy now after saying that out loud

pulling the car out of the parking lot, jaehyun glanced at the road ahead, his mind still half on the conversation. it was a peculiar choice of subject, perhaps, for someone like him, but it was one he genuinely cared about. as Jeongin gave directions from the passenger seat, jaehyun couldn’t help but laugh. jeongin’s explanations were endearingly scattered, like a maze with no clear exit. amused, he reached for the stereo and queued up one of his favorite bands - cigarettes after . the gentle, dreamlike melodies filled the car, weaving effortlessly into the soft rumble of the engine.

' you’re terrible at directions, by the way,' jaehyun teased, glancing sideways with a smirk. ' should’ve just let me turn on the gps,' the road stretched on, illuminated by the rhythmic dance of passing streetlights, while the music created a cocoon of calm around them. for a moment, everything felt easy, like they were simply two dates sharing a fleeting escape from the chaos of their lives.

She did her normally morning routine before making a quick breakfast- a vegan breakfast sandwich with some earl gray. It was only then she went to work not knowing what her close friends would have in store for her later.

Once work was finished for the day her friends ‘kindly’ force her back home then changed her into a thick black legging along with long sleeves pink dress and a baby blue jacket. They set her up on a blind date.

“YOU DID WHAT?” She let out in complete shock before sighing knowing they are only worry since she rejected dating happy to be alone at the moment. It doesn’t mean she like this at all though. “Who did you set me up with?” She asked only to be met with laughers. “You’ll know once we arrived it’s someone you know well, and wearing blue.” They said leaving the event coordinator in disbelieve.

“At least it’s a nice cafe.” She mumbled to herself already thinking of how to return the ‘favor’ as she glanced around to figured out who her so called date is only to spot a familiar blue overall. She kept looking around to see if she knew anyone else only to sigh seeing no one at least not anyone that’s not a student. She walks towards the table then pulled out a chair before sitting down.

“Hello Baekhyun .” She greeted with a confused look. “My friends set me up on a blind date. The only think they told me was it was someone I know and wearing blue.” She glanced around once more. “Unless they want their kicked even more I don’t believe they will set me up with a student.” She looked back. “And judging from how you’re reacting my guess was wrong -you are not my date. Sorry to bother you, but what are you doing here? If I recall you’re not one to normally visit a café.”

@☘︎┊nie taeyong ᵃ Eunbi could only let out a small giggle as she could have known he would have been prepared. “Of course she would have given us permission.” She signed before fixing her hair after the ruffle. She grinned as she followed along waiting as he gets the slip.

She waved at the guard before nodding her head at her best friend. ‘Don’t worry I’ll stay close bestie.’ She signed back making sure not to get lost as she followed close behind as they make their way to the cafe.

Once they arrived, she glanced around in wonder and awe. ‘It’s a nice-looking place if the food really is good, I’m a hundred percent coming back.’ The beta signed with a bright smiled as she’s always on the lookout being a huge foodie.

The student holding the phone rubbed his sore ribs into where his friend had jerked his elbow, a megawatt smile stitched onto his face. "Turn down the brightness. I'm only blind in one eye," Baekhyun shoved away the offensive glaring item without even a glance at it. He ignored the high-pitched giggle that followed, its connotation that all elderly required maximum brightness to utilise small digital screens evident. Damn brats. He was, at most, just over a decade older than them. Why were they even sticking to him anyway?

"What do you mean?" The gears ticked in his head, when the screen, brightness reduced to an acceptable level, was shoved back in front of him. There was a vaguely familiar face with a huge 'MATCHED' banner struck across underneath. "Haven't i politely requested you all to delete my profile?" He stared down the trio. He made a lousy attempt to snatch away the phone, a move that was expectedly blocked by the only female moving the screen out of his reach.

"You demanded it. Made us delete it, even. But," she remarked, a tiny yet evident smirk gracing her lips. Tapping on the screen to show the janitor's profile — a comical picture of him with a wide, open mouth, narrowed eyes, and outstretched arms towards the camera — she continued, "We managed to restore your dating profile." She had the audacity to wiggle the screen, taunting him, her only steady presence between the two shaking on either sides.

Baekhyun drew in a deep breath, inhaling the faintly sweet aroma of his cup of black tea. He was fine. He would not pummel the students in front of an audience. Recalling the sculpted face who matched him, Baekhyun gritted out amicably, "Who's the guy?" "The professor of foraging and ecology! Jaehyun from the Nie pack as well! You might have bumped into him when on pack duties. He has the reputation of being a germaphobe — a state of cleanliness that even surpasses yours," The only blond in the trio rattled while the female student tapped back to Jaehyun's profile. "We arranged the date to be here. He should arrive in 10 minutes. Well, best luck!" The conniving students scuttled off.

Baekhyun slumped in his seat, staring at the shallow puddle of tea left in his cup. He darted his eye to the automatic doors where it had slammed shut after the last of the trio passed. He didn't frequent cafés. He hadn't even patroned this one until he was tricked into it. An encounter that had similar circumstance to his current visit. However, the café had not a bad menu, especially the tea selection.

5 minutes until his match's arrival. He recalled hearing about Jaehyun. While Baekhyun always had on his eyepatch, Nie Jaehyun always wore a pair of gloves. He wouldn't be surprised if the latter had helped in his work duties; the academy seemed to be cleaner after the Nie joined.

2 minutes. Baekhyun rose to stop by the counter, ordering a fresh cup of black tea and a bar of lemons square. Collecting his order, he headed back to his table where he had marked using his coat. He indulged himself in the food, not waiting to be starved until the other arrived. If he would arrive.

@☘︎┊nie jaehyun ᵃ Jeongin chuckled but it warmed his heart still when Jeahyun actually made a promise with him, even if it was childish he still chose not to refuse him and it warmed his heart. “You might be joking but it is the ultimate promise!” He said with a slight pout as he wasn’t sure if the other was laughing at him or just at the fact he was acting like a little boy.

“Yes,I am… I teach drawing and sketching…” His voice was quite soft with the other guy, his bright smile made him smule automatically back at him, his dimples also were quite deep by now. “What do you teach?” His eyes stare into the alpha with curiosity.

A faint blush was all over the beta’s cheeks when he heard him saying out loud that he was beautiful. “Thanks, I think you are so…handsome.” He whispered back shyly. The way Jaehyun protected him from the rain really warmed his heart. Running along with him until they reached the black mustang , staring for some seconds as it was really impressing.

A giggle left his lips when hearing the other speaking to him like he was a sort of princess. “Thank you, my lords.” he joked back at him as he was sitting inside the car. The beta looked at him with big eyes. “You need to drive straight, then turn left, left, after 5 minutes you need to go to your right…, then again left and left… It takes about 30 minutes to get in there.

' of course, I promised! we even locked pinkies. that’s like... the ultimate promise,' he said with mock seriousness, his smile softening as he helped jeongin slip into his jacket.

' you’re a professor? no way!' jaehyun exclaimed, his eyes lighting up with genuine curiosity. ' what do you teach? we could totally meet up sometime!' his dimples deepened as he flashed an eager smile, his enthusiasm palpable.

once jeongin had fixed his jacket, jaehyun lingered for a moment before blurting out, ' I do think you’re beautiful.' the sincerity in his voice was unmistakable, his gaze unwavering as he held the door open and gestured for jeongin to follow him out. the sound of rain greeted them, pouring steadily outside. jaehyun sighed dramatically before shrugging off his own jacket, holding it high above their heads. ' what a pity,' he teased, a mischievous glint in his eyes. ' looks like we’ll have to run for it! '

guiding jeongin carefully through the rain, jaehyun maneuvered them both toward the sleek black mustang parked nearby. with a quick flick of his key fob, he unlocked the car and opened the passenger door, still holding his jacket above jeongin’s head like a makeshift umbrella.

' here we go, your chariot awaits,' he joked as jeongin climbed into the car. once jeongin was settled, jaehyun darted around to the driver’s side, quickly sliding into the seat and tossing his wet jacket into the back. ' so,' jaehyun began, brushing rainwater from his damp hair with a light chuckle, 'where do you live? let’s get you there before we both catch a cold.' his tone was warm, his eyes glimmering with amusement as he reached for the ignition, ready to whisk jeongin away into the rain-soaked night.

@☘︎┊nie jaehyun ᵃ It was nice hearing him laughing, that sound filled his heart with some sort of warmness, so he liked it very much. “Did you?” He whispered and squinted at him. A soft feeling filled his heart again when the other offered him his pinky and really promised to protect him. Even when one shouldn’t trust a stranger he had a feeling that Jaeyun would protect him if anything bad would happen. He tangled their pinkies together and was blushing shyly as they were pretty close when he did so.

The beta was blushing even more as he was pretty obvious about being disappointed, but was glad to hear the alpha didn’t want their date to end either. An insane thought of sleeping at his place came to his mind but he brushed it away immediately, not believing he even thought about such a thing. “Oh, maybe we will see each other tomorrow then… I’m a professor too.” Jeongin wasn’t sure if he even mentioned it before.

His eyes opened with curiosity, sparkling a bit, the little compliment made him blush again. “Do you think I’m a beauty?” He mumbled shyly and was all smiling sweetly, his dimples were quite deep by now. The beta giggled softly when he offered him his own jacket, wearing it gently. “Thank you, good sir.” He played along with him, looking at him with big and shining eyes now as at least he would be with him for a little longer.

when jeongin’s expression flickered with disappointment, jaehyun noticed immediately. he hummed thoughtfully, a low, melodic sound as if weighing his words. ' I don’t want the date to end either, ' he admitted, his tone tinged with regret. ' but I’ve got an early schedule tomorrow. professor life at the academy waits for no one.' he chuckled lightly, reintroducing his job to soften the blow.

' but, ' he added with a sly grin, ' you’ll like the ride back.' his tone carried a hint of mischief. ' I drove my mustang. it’s a beauty, just like you.' with that, jaehyun stood and made his way to settle the bill, his movements confident but unhurried, as though reluctant to part ways so soon.

returning to the table, he picked up jeongin’s jacket and held it open for him with a playful flourish. ' sir, ' he said, his voice mockingly formal, accompanied by an exaggerated bow. the twinkle in his eyes betrayed his teasing nature, but the gesture itself was tender, brimming with care and intention.

Just thinking about them made him feel chills over his body, and not the good ones. “So if something bad happens, are you going to protect me, or not?” He whispered softly and looked at him with big and curious eyes.

A disappointed gasp almost slipped from his lips when the other was looking at his watch, thinking he wanted to leave already. It was getting pretty late but for some reason he didn’t want this date to finish. But what could he say or do without sounding silly? He wasn’t sure. “Oh, I didn’t realize… it was getting late.” He whispered after thinking for some seconds.

“Well.. a little far…” Jeongin just now noticed the storm, the offer was very kind and it meant they would have a little more time together, he liked that fact. “Thank you, I would really appreciate that…” His voice was sweet as he looked at him with sparkling eyes, Jaehyun was so kind with him, and he was still so very curious and wanted to get to know him better. Even when he was terrified to actually let someone get close to him. He always was nice to everyone but he didn’t have friends at all cause he thought he was cursed so he was kind but did his best not to get too attached to anyone.

as he leaned back slightly, his gaze drifted to the watch on his wrist. time had slipped away from them unnoticed, hours melting into their conversation as the world outside turned white. snowflakes clung to the windowpane, illuminated by the dim streetlights, a quiet reminder of how late it had gotten.

his eyes returned to jeongin, softening as he considered the growing storm. ' do you live far from here?' he asked, his tone warm and tinged with concern. ' i could take you home if you’d like. it’s snowing pretty heavily out there.'
a small, sincere smile curved his lips, his words polite yet tinged with a subtle invitation. despite the late hour and the freezing weather, jaehyun wasn’t quite ready to let the moment go.

Jeongin was drinking his drink while overthinking about things, trying to tell himself to just relax and enjoy the evening. When the handsome guy was leaning closer he almost gasped, his heart was beating fast. His closeness made him feel things inside, things he was way too shy to address. A fainsting smile was over his face now when the other said he would be with him. “Does it mean you would protect me, Jae?” He whispered and then blushed at his little nick for him. his lips shyly when the other pulled away, trying to calm down his heart he was drinking his drink for some seconds, trying to distract himself from how he felt right now.

Seeing the other was actually exciting about giving him a tour made him feel a warm feeling inside, he himself liked the idea very much. “I would love that.” He began to say but when Jaehyun acted like it was a challenge his eyes were sparkling a bit. “I would keep up with you, you better show me the best ones!” The beta domended, he looked quite curious and excited about visiting the place Jaehyun was from.

' a tour plan. next time you come, i’ll show you all the cool places.' he cocked his head slightly, gauging jeongin’s reaction as a smirk played on his lips. It felt nice to be around him, he wondered if the others felt like him too, the beta tried not to overthink it, after all it was just their first date. The sharp inhale made him a little confused, wondering if the other was over thinking too about things. Still he didn’t want to ruin the nice and warm mood, eating his cake happily while smiling brightly at the other, his dimples were quite deep as he was smiling for real.

“You are indeed… quite special.” His voice whispered but then he felt so shy his cheeks went all red, still willing to go along with the alpha, even if it was a bit reckless to go with a guy he just met. “Honestly, I've never been there… is it safe for a lan to visit there?” His eyes opened up in curiosity, looking at him with the same warm smile.

but not today. jaehyun took a sharp inhale, shaking the thought from his mind. today wasn’t the day for self-loathing. he wasn’t going to ruin this, not when jeongin looked at him like that, as if he wasn’t broken in a thousand irreparable ways. jaehyun forced a smile, this time allowing it to reach his eyes, and focused on the angel sitting across from him.

' well, ' he said, injecting enthusiasm into his tone, ' a personal tour guide? wow, I must be special.' his lips curled into a grin, and a soft chuckle escaped, easing the tension in his chest. ' sounds like a plan. but tell me - have you ever been to the unclean realm?'

His compliment just made his cheeks go redder, he didn’t expect to hear those kind words from him. “Thank you so much- I mean, I hope you think it’s a good thing.” He giggled shyly but his eyes were shining, loving to be around the other guy pretty much.

The shy boy also noticed how happy the other was when he liked the food, enjoying the cake happily, it was hard to stop eating it but his eyes were focused on Jaehyun when he seemed to be curious about him. “Never? I would love to give you a tour.” His voice was gentle, thinking they already spoke about a second date and now even about a tour in his home area. The beta had many bad memories from there too but he didn’t say it out loud, it was too hard to speak about it.

The description of the place made Jeongin look at him with big and shiny eyes, it sounded so lovely to him and he for sure adored beautiful places. “Would you take me on a tour over there? It sounds like a beautiful place for real.” His voice was still quite tender with him.

The beta was chuckling when the other asked him if it suited him. “After meeting you up… it suits you very well… you seem like the type to love beautiful places as well, you are very tender and sweet.” His voice was quite sincere.

' a lan, huh?' jaehyun mused, rubbing his chin thoughtfully as he leaned back in his chair. crossing his arms over his chest, he let his mind wander for a moment. ' I’ve never been to cloud recesses. you should give me a tour sometime,' he said, a warm smile spreading across his face at the idea.

he tilted his head, a faraway look crossing his features as he continued. ' the prettiest place I’ve been? it was back in military school. we camped at the base of these cliffs once. there was this narrow road weaving between the rocks, and it felt like it went on forever. the pine trees dotted the path, and there were little pockets of wild flora and fauna along the way. the whole place had this untouched, rugged beauty - it was surreal.'

jaehyun’s voice softened, a wistful chuckle escaping his lips as he reminisced. ' I guess I have a thing for rocky landscapes. maybe it’s my nie side showing.' his gaze flickered back to jeongin, a teasing glint in his eyes. ' what do you think? does it suit me?' the warmth in his tone hinted at both the pride of past experiences and the budding comfort of sharing them with someone new.

“Well you deserve each word, it feels good and nice to be around you.” His cheeks went a bit pink when saying those words out loud.

“Me? Cute?” He pointed at himself a bit confused. “What did I do? I don’t remember doing anything cute at all.” The beta whispered as he wasn’t sure why the alpha was calling him cute suddenly. His eyes were shining also at the mention of the food.
“The food looks great! Let’s eat a lot!” He said softly taking one bite from the cake he was humming happily. “Wow, this is great, you also have a great taste, Jaehyun.” He said happily before he continued enjoying the dessert and his warm drink.

“Actually I was more around my own pack… Lan. But I really love places like gardens, lakes… with a lot of scenery, what about you?” His voice was soft and curious when he was sipping his warm drink.

she placed their orders on the table, the warm, buttery aroma of his croissant immediately catching jaehyun’s attention. he had been eyeing it since they sat down, but patience prevailed - he’d let jeongin finish speaking before indulging.

' thank you for your kind words,' he said with a chuckle, his tone sincere yet light. ' and you know, you’re quite cute yourself.' the playful lilt in his voice was accompanied by a twinkle in his eye. ' I hope you’ll enjoy your food. this place is one of my favorites - it’s always good here.' with that, he leaned forward, finally giving in to the allure of the golden pastry. the first bite was everything he’d hoped for: crisp on the outside, warm and buttery-soft on the inside. he closed his eyes briefly, a soft sigh of satisfaction escaping his lips as the taste melted on his tongue.

taking a sip of his drink, he turned his attention back to jeongin, curiosity glinting in his gaze. ' so, ' he began, setting his cup down, ' have you traveled much between the packs? what’s the place you’ve liked the most so far?' his question hung in the air, inviting conversation, as jaehyun leaned back slightly, his posture relaxed but engaged, ready to dive into jeongin’s stories.

He looked at him with a shy look as his eyes opened wide. “Just one person heard me singing before and he was biased… So I’m not sure I am any good.” The beta said quite honestly, fighting the urge to cry while thinking about the person. “But yeah… ballads.” He blushed as it seemed like the other was reading him quite easily.

Giggled left Jeongin’s lips when the other said he thought he might be unpleasant or intimidating, making an X with his hands. “No, No way… I meant- very manly- handsome and like to do things like…working out… and sports.” He tried to explain himself, not feeling intimidated by him at all, he felt cozy with him but for him it was quite scarier, he didn’t expect to like his date like that. “But here you are showing me your beautiful melodies and talking about flowers… it makes me feel so…soft.” He whispered honestly and was a bit shy to look into his eyes now.

' sounds like a plan, ' he said with a small smile, his voice soft but warm. resuming his earlier position, he propped his chin on his palm again, his gaze steady on jeongin. 'I doubt that, ' he added with a teasing glint in his eye. ' I bet you’re a great singer. let me guess - ballads? you strike me as a ballad kind of guy.' his chuckle was low and easy, breaking the pleasant silence that had settled between them.

then, with a sudden flicker of curiosity, he leaned back in his chair, his lips curling into a playful grin. ' me?' he said, pointing to himself as though he couldn’t believe jeongin would have an opinion. ' alright, tell me - how did you picture me? be honest! did you think I was some rough, unpleasant alpha? the brooding, intimidating type?'
he laughed softly, his amusement evident as he studied jeongin’s reaction, his arms casually resting on the back of the chair. the question wasn’t entirely unserious; there was a spark of curiosity behind his teasing, as if he truly wanted to know how the beta had perceived him.

“Singer- is a real statement, I just sing to myself… I’m not sure if I sing that well…” The beta said softly but he really felt a weird feeling like it would be nice to sing along with him.
He looked so excited when the alpha was showing him his phone, looking at the screen kind of hypnotized, it made him feel even calmer now while listening to the beautiful melody.

“Wow, you are so good.” He was feeling in a nice dream while listening to him playing the piano, the melody really made him smile widely. “Not rusty at all, this is so beautiful…” His voice was soft as he didn’t want the melody to end, Jaehyun looked so calm while playing his melody in the video, it made him more curious, wanting to know him better.

“So flowers and piano…I didn’t expect that at all… You are full of surprises, don’t you?” His tone was soft, liking to hear about such a soft side of the other that looked so manly and made him feel attraction.

'oh?' he said, a teasing smile tugging at his lips. 'I could show you a video of it instead. we’ll save the actual piano playing for our second date.' the deliberate mention of a second date came effortlessly, wrapped in the warmth of his grin as he fished his phone from his pocket.

' a singer, huh?' he mused, glancing up briefly. 'that’s nice. maybe next time you could sing while I play. I bet it’d sound amazing together.' his fingers swiped across the screen as he searched for the video, the glow of the phone lighting up his features. turning the device sideways, he slid it toward jeongin with an expectant look.

the video showed him seated at a sleek white piano, his fingers gliding over the keys with practiced grace. the faint hum of a melody filled the air between them. ' I’m so rusty, though,' he said with a light chuckle, as if trying to downplay his obvious skill. his tone was easy, the self-deprecation a subtle attempt to make jeongin feel more at ease.

as the video played, his gaze lingered on jeongin, curious to see how the beta would react, wondering if the music spoke to him the same way it always spoke to jaehyun.

When the other was catching his eyes some blush rushed into his cheeks. But the smile of the other really made him feel very soft.
“I think I will take a Vanilla milkshake with chocolate chips~ and maybe some cake?” Everything on the menu looked so tasty to him.

His attention was focused on the handsome guy, surprised to hear about the piano, and the gardening, it really made his eyes shine at him. “You play on the piano? Wow I really wanna see you playing… so impressive!” His face lit up at the thought about Jaehyun playing beautiful melodies. “Oh I love flowers so much… and gardens! To be around flowers makes me feel so happy… I also like drawing very much… and this is kind of a secret but I really like to sing, I don’t do that in front of others… But I like it.” He whispered happily, not sure why it felt so easy telling the others things, it felt natural and nice.

he had already decided what he wanted - an espresso and the café’s signature almond croissant - but realized it was rude to look away for too long. quickly, jaehyun lifted his head, a soft smile tugging at his lips as he caught jeongin’s foxlike eyes fixed on him.

jaehyun chuckled, his voice warm. ' what about me? ' he echoed, leaning back slightly, his posture relaxed. ' I have a lot of passions.' he paused, as if considering how much to reveal, before continuing. ' for one, I enjoy playing the piano. it’s something I’ve done for years. and gardening - I love it, actually. i’ve got this enormous peony garden. it’s my sanctuary.' he raised a hand to signal the waitress, his focus never straying far from the beta. ' what about you? what lights you up?'

He was quite curious about his gloves but didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable so he thought to save that question for later. "No, it was pretty easy... did you wait a long time?" His voice was really soft, biting his lips in shyness. "This is crazy, I haven't gone on a date for years..." He confessed and was trying not to stare at him too much. "Jaehyun~" He said his name cutely and smiled with his deep dimples. "Where do you like to spend your free time?" He asked with curiosity, the smile never leaving his face.

surprisingly, the app wasn’t a total waste. he’d matched with a lot of people, though only three managed to keep his attention. one of them, jeongin, a fellow professor, had suggested meeting in person. after some deliberation, they decided on the café in moonstone valley - a cozy, quiet place perfect for good conversation.

jaehyun arrived early, flipping through the menu as he inhaled the comforting mix of coffee and baked goods. that’s when he caught it - an intriguing scent cutting through the usual aromas of the café. he glanced up just as a young man approached, looking slightly nervous but undeniably charming. jaehyun smiled, his dimples making a rare appearance as he stood.

' you must be jeongin?'he asked at the same time as the other introduced himself, his voice warm and polite. he gestured for the other to take a seat, chuckling at his own behaviour and pulling the chair out with practiced ease before settling back into his own. sliding the menu across the table, he folded his gloved hands and leaned forward slightly. ' did it take you long to get here? ' he asked, genuinely curious but carrying that signature calm, collected demeanor.

But Jaehyun was so attractive and when he said they should meet the beta just couldn't refuse him. Besides, a single date wouldn't be terrible. At least he hoped so, wearing his light blue buttoned shirt and high skinny jeans he brushed his fingers inside his long hair before taking a deep breath and going inside the coffee, his eyes scanning around to see if Jaehyun was already there or not. A wide smile that exposed his dimples were all over his face when he spotted the alpha. It was easy to recognize him, but he looked even more impressive in real life.
“Jaehyun? Hi, I'm Lan Jeongin…” His bright smile was over his face even when he felt quite nervous, looking at the other guy with big eyes.
