@☼┊wen taeyeon ᵃ@☼┊wen jungkook ᵃ The fear took over his entire being as he watched Jungkook rise from the bed - in all the years that he'd known the younger male he had never seen or felt this pure rage and hatred from him. He didn't even need to say anything for Taehyung to know that he had royally screwed up. He had gone too far and the betrayal was beyond repair.
He didn't move to help Taeyeon when she was pulled from the room, not daring to intervene between the siblings and instead just stayed kneeling on the floor - as was his place. But then the attention was back on him, he didn't speak as Jungkook approached but his eyes snapped up when he was commanded to do so; his breath catching in his throat at the roughness his face was held onto, following the lead on Jungkooks fingers while his nails dug into his tanned skin.
His response what but a single nod, not daring to open his mouth to even say a single word in affirmation. The blow to the side of his face nearly knocked him over and his hands flew up to grip at his cheek where the sting was felt, tears spilling freely down his cheeks while he bit back a whimper of pain.
But his next words... every single syllable felt like a blunt knife carving through his heart - the pain of the miscarriage returning alongside the pain of Jungkooks words and the pain of knowing he'd hurt the person he cared the most for. When Jungkooks foot connected with his stomach he couldn't hold back the noises of pain this time, arms wrapping around where he'd been previously still tender and now blinding pain filled him, making him choke on quiet sobs.
He'd been physically hurt by Jungkook many times but not as brutally as he was being today, the pull of his hair bringing fresh tears into his eyes, and he did his best to follow as he was dragged to his feet and forced across the room - falling roughly into the door frame before he was on the floor outside of the room, turning back to look just as the door closed behind the Alpha. He was surrounded within seconds but he didn't want help, he didn't deserve the help so instead he pushed them away, scrambling to his feet and gaining his balance before fleeing, not caring if he had to walk the entire way back to school in the snow. He was gone.
@☼┊wen taehyung ᵒ@☼┊wen jungkook ᵃ Her brother’s rage made her a bit hesitant to move but in just a blink of an eye, she was yanked away from the room that she almost kissed the wall of the corridor by how strong her brother’s strength to throw her out of the room. Because Taeyeon has a petite physique, a brute force might be the death of her if she wasn’t too careful.
Taeyeon couldn’t help but to grin and laugh silently at how the omega has been treated by other alpha in the room. Seizing by her hair made a small cut on her temple but it healed quickly and she almost stumbled when she stood up. Hearing the omega’s plea over and over while her brother keeps hurting him made Taeyeon grinned. Nothing matters anymore, to him, nothing ever mattered to him now.
She fixed her outfit, her collar and her hair as she starts walking away, the omega’s cries has fallen to the deaf ears as Taeyeon no longer helps him. Taehyung ended the deal and she has no use of him anymore, he deserves it for turning his back on her brother, deceived by her and now what he got is a hellish reality that Taeyeon had warned him. She couldn’t take off her smile as she starts walking downstairs, leaving the hospital like nothing happened.
@☼┊wen taeyeon ᵃ@☼┊wen taehyung ᵒ jungkook was a storm, and he could feel the fury rising from deep inside him. it wasn’t just his anger - it was kai’s, too. a shared rage, a bond that could only be felt by those who were connected in ways that ran deeper than blood. the betrayal, the pain - it was unbearable. taehyung, his once trusted companion, had broken them both, and the weight of that realization pressed down on him like a suffocating vice.
his vision blurred at the edges, but his focus was sharp. the room around him felt suffocating, the air thick with tension. his chest heaved as he fought to control the raw power coursing through him. his pulse pounded, the sensation of his aura heating the room, a flare of blue flames igniting from his hands before he willed it to stop. his body trembled, but his face remained hard, a mask of cold fury.
he pushed himself up from the bed, legs unsteady but fueled by anger. he could feel the weight of their presence - the people who had come to see him, to face his wrath.his eyes locked on taeyeon, then moved toward taehyung, the kneeling figure on the ground, pathetic in his submission. jungkook’s voice was strained, hoarse, as if it had been a lifetime since he had used it.
' get the out, ' he rasped, his voice carrying the fury that threatened to break him. the sound was low, yet filled the room with a command that couldn’t be ignored. when Taeyeon hesitated, he was done. without a second thought, he seized her by the hair, dragging her forcefully behind the door. it didn’t matter that she was his sister. anger knew no bounds. she was in his way, and she had to go. the room had to be cleared, every trace of betrayal wiped away.
turning his full attention to taehyung, his anger didn’t subside - it intensified. ' ing look at me, ' he demanded, the words barely audible as they dripped with venom. his eyes locked onto Taehyung’s, dark, empty of any emotion but pure rage. he knelt down, grabbing taehyung’s chin and forcing him to meet his gaze. ' ing traitor, ' he hissed, voice thick with contempt. his grip tightened, nails biting into the skin of taehyung’s jaw as he leaned in close. ' if I hear you call me that again, I will rip your ing tongue out. got it? '
every word was a threat, every movement designed to assert his dominance. there was nothing left of the jungkook that once cared. that Jungkook was long gone.
he stood abruptly, voice seething as he spat, ' well. everything good I’ve done for you... this is how you repay me. well, ing congratulations.' without warning, he slapped taehyung across the face, the sting of the blow sharp against the quiet room.
his heart was beating wildly, the adrenaline coursing through his veins. ' a child? I’m ing glad that bastard is dead. tying myself to you? ing never, 'he snarled, kicking taehyung hard in the stomach. the sound of the impact echoed in the room.
jungkook was consumed by his anger now - blinded by it. there was no space for mercy, no room for remorse. he grabbed taehyung by the hair again, yanking him up with brutal force. ' wanted to be free from me? well, ing congratulations. you’re free. if I ever see your face again, I’ll be the one to kill you. understood? '
he threw taehyung out of the room, his body crashing against the doorframe before being unceremoniously shoved outside. as the door closed behind him, jungkook’s back was the last thing they saw - a figure surrounded by blue flames, his power crackling around him like a living entity. the heat was overwhelming, and for a brief moment, it seemed as if the very air itself had bent to his will.
he was done with them. raehyung and raeyeon were nothing now, and they would never come back.
@☼┊wen taeyeon ᵃ@☼┊wen jungkook ᵃ A soft pathetic whimper was heard when Taeyeons hand grabbed his face, flinching away from the grip but not able to pull out of it. His eyes were wet and scared as they studied her face, trying to understand what she was implying with her words. He'd barely opened his mouth to respond when the chaos erupted beside them both, finally able to tear his face from her hand as he looked toward Jungkook.
That look in his eyes. Taehyung knew he'd heard every word they'd just spoke. He glanced around the room, eyeing the blue flames that were making the curtains disappear before his very eyes. And he was terrified. More than he had been a moment ago. More than he was of Taeyeon.
He stumbled to his feet when he was pulled up by the shirt, pulling against her to try and keep his distance, he didn't want to be right in front of Jungkook when he exploded. Which he had no doubt was coming any moment now. He'd truly ed up this time. He pushed back on the hold on his neck, "No- no, no.." That was all he could muster in the moment, trying to back up.
"please-- Jungkookie.. Whatever you heard.. I'm sorry-" He knew his words would fall on deaf ears, it was too late for apologies, it was too late for regrets.
@☼┊wen taehyung ᵒ@☼┊wen jungkook ᵃ Taeyeon couldn't take off her twisted grin as she looked down on the omega groveled on the floor with his whimsy speech of independence. "And you dare call the leader of our pack in such insolent words coming from your lips." Then she knelt on him and grabbed his face, "I can end you here while my brother is still in his slumber, but I know, you have much more suffering waiting for you."
Then she felt something shifted in the corner of her red eyes and saw her brother, ripping off the every single of the tubes from him. This will be very much interesting. Taeyeon guessed the other alpha had heard everything they had conversed, the words of betrayal and back stabbing, it would fuel nothing but fury and madness towards her dear brother.
"My brother finally woke up from his coma," She greeted and pulls the omega's shirt to stand up in front of his lover, "Your omega of your might need some explaining to do." Then she holds Taehyung's nape while still behind the omega, whom will be the first to face the wrath of her dear brother.
jungkook’s mind was a storm, a churning sea of confusion and fury. betrayal? secrets? what was happening? their voices reached him through the haze, fragmented and sharp as glass. taehyung - his pet - had gone behind his back, delivering their secrets to taeyeon? the very thought seared through him. taehyung, the only person he thought he could trust, had fed their lives into the hands of someone who could destroy them.
jungkook clenched his metaphorical fists, trapped in the stillness of his broken body. yes, he had hurt taehyung - unforgivably so. he had shattered him in ways even he couldn’t mend. but hadn’t he also shielded him? hadn’t he nourished and protected him, elevating him to a purpose he could call his own? the power, the status, the very life taehyung lived - it was all because of jungkook. and yet, taehyung had repaid him with betrayal.
the truth tangled itself deeper into jungkook's rage: it wasn’t his fault. he hadn’t killed his family - his father had. jungkook had been a pawn, just like everyone else, trapped beneath the crushing influence of ruohan’s monstrous power. they were all victims, but that didn’t erase what taehyung had done. it didn’t dull the sting of betrayal, nor could it absolve him. the fury roared louder in his chest, a beast clawing its way out.
then, in the midst of the commotion, something shifted. no one noticed it at first - a faint, trembling twitch in jungkook’s motionless hand. he focused every ounce of his will on that single movement, his frustration and anger merging into raw determination. his index finger jerked again. and again. until suddenly, something inside him snapped awake.
a spark. it was faint at first - a tiny flicker of blue crackling on the cold, sterile floor. but in an instant, it spread, growing into a ghostly fire, hungrily at the beige curtains. the flames bloomed like ethereal blue lilies, consuming the fabric in a breathtaking, terrifying display of his awakening.
jungkook felt the world crashing back into his senses. the harsh sting of the tube in his throat became unbearable, suffocating. his hand moved with new strength, tearing the gauze from his face. with a single tug, he ripped the endotracheal tube free and gasped, his first breath searing through his lungs like fire.
the room swam before him, blurring and sharpening in a chaotic dance of light and shadow. he sat up, his movements slow at first but gaining momentum. his chest heaved, his breaths ragged and feral as his blood boiled.
then his vision cleared enough to see them - the silhouettes of those who had betrayed him, those who had stood by. his anger ignited anew, a fire even hotter than the one devouring the curtains. his single crimson iris glowed like a coal set alight in the darkness, casting an ominous, flickering light across the room. there was was - fury, raw and untamed - sparking in his eyes.
@☼┊wen taeyeon ᵃ@☼┊wen jungkook ᵃ The hand closing around had his body freezing up completely, the glowing red eyes so familiar as Jungkooks were the same, especially when he'd done something wrong. He tried to curl in on himself but he was held in place by the tightening grip around his neck. He could tell from her expression alone that he had gone too far. But, he couldn't back down on it. There was no way for him to continue as it was before.
His breath caught in a sharp inhale when he was pushed into the wall, but he didn't fight back against her hold, he was by far weaker than she was and it would of been useless to even try. All it would of achieved was probably to set her off even more - would probably put him in an even worse situation than he already was.
Every word she said was like a knife into his heart and soul, tears slipped freely down his cheeks and he did nothing to stop them. He deserved every word she said, he knew he did. When she finally let go all he could do was fall to his knees. Pathetic. He could feel her eyes looking down on him while his arms wrapped around his body as if that would protect him.
"You.. can say whatever you want.. You're probably right. But.. it's not his fault.. It's your fathers fault." Finally he lifted his head to look up at her, his eyes hard despite the tears, "Just go, Taeyeon. It's over. I don't care what you say, or who you tell, I'm done working with you behind his back. I'm done with it all. Just let me live my life no matter how terrible it might be."
@☼┊wen taehyung ᵒ@☼┊wen jungkook ᵃ The female alpha gritted her teeth by the response of the other, the bargain was ended by the omega's words. Her temper ran short as the omega talked back to her, in an instant she wrapped her hand around Taehyung's neck. Her bright red eyes glowed as she glared to him, "You dare talk back to me, boy." Taeyeon's lowly tone is hinting that she is beyond pissed at this point, her hand slowly tightened the other's neck. "You should already know what I'm capable on doing this to you."
"You are in love with the one who murdered your loved ones, you should always remember that." She told him as she shoved him against the wall face first, the back of her mind telling Taeyeon to stop but it was only the small voices in her head. Not even Amaterasu could stop her from doing things.
"What would your sister say if she finds out that the one who destroyed your village," Her hand became more tighter around the other's nape, "Your family, your very people were murdered by HIM!" She made the other face the comatose alpha on the bed.
"You are so foolish, pathetic and weak." Taeyeon whispered through his ear, with her lips stretching from ear to ear in a twisted way. "No wonder your whole village were burned to dust because of how weak and fragile you are inside and out." Then she lets go of him after she whispered to his ear.
"You disgust me," Taeyeon muttered as she looked down on the poor omega.
@☼┊wen taeyeon ᵃ@☼┊wen taehyung ᵒ kai sat frozen, his ears straining to catch every word, though the more he heard, the less sense it made. what deal? jungkook thought, confusion swirling in his mind like a storm. the tone of their conversation - his sister’s smugness, taehyung’s strained voice - it gnawed at him, twisting his gut. every word that passed between them deepened his unease, every pause a moment for dread to creep in.
he wanted to stand, to demand answers, but his body refused to move. his breath hitched as taehyung shifted beside him. jungkook didn’t need to look; he could feel taehyung’s unease, the tension rolling off him like a tide. It mirrored his own, yet beneath it all, there was something darker in the air.
and then it came - the words that shattered him.
taehyung admitted he’d been relaying secrets, their secrets, to her. to taeyeon. to the one person who had tried to hurt them, the one person they swore to never trust. the confession slammed into jungkook like a physical blow, and for a moment, all he heard was the roaring of blood in his ears.
his hands began to tremble, a boiling heat rushing through his veins, pooling in his fingertips. the rage was unlike anything he’d felt before. it wasn’t just anger - it was betrayal, hot and raw and unrelenting. taehyung was supposed to understand him, to be the one person in this fractured world he could rely on. the one person he could trust.
but this betrayal? it was a blade to the heart, a fire that consumed him from the inside out. his vision blurred as the pain tangled with his fury, searing and relentless. jungkook's chest heaved, and for a moment, he teetered on the edge - of what, he wasn’t sure. words, actions, everything boiled within him, waiting to explode.
and yet he stayed silent. he burned with unspoken fury, not yet sure if he would lash out - or simply fall apart.
@☼┊wen taeyeon ᵃ@☼┊wen jungkook ᵃ [] continuing from prev to add for the drama teehee
Finally he turned his body so he could look at Taeyeon, trying to face the fear head on, if he wanted to move forward he couldn't cower like this, he needed to show her he was serious. "I appreciate your offer to help me get away. But, I'm sure that I passed you more than enough of Jungkooks secrets. I'm done being your little spy. I can't betray him like that any longer. I won't stab him in the back any longer. I'm sorry. It's over, Taeyeon."
@☼┊wen taeyeon ᵃ@☼┊wen jungkook ᵃ His body wouldn't even let him turn to look at her at first, his fingers tightening on Jungkooks and for a moment he couldn't even breathe. Why was she here? He wondered for only a second if perhaps she really did care about Jungkook, but of course there way no way. This was almost exactly the scenario she had mentioned to Taehyung. The male losing the battle and passing in this bed would be perfect for her plans to take over.
He bit the inside of his cheek gently, and despite how badly he wanted to respond snarky and biting, he kept his cool. There was no sense in starting a fight right now. What good would it do any of them, really? "If you're really wondering... not great... he's alive, but... he's not waking up.." His voice was soft as he spoke, reaching out to tuck some strands of hair over the Alphas ear that had moved out of place.
The fruit basket appeared in his peripheral vision and even that ticked him off. The faux kindness and caring. She could drop the act, it was just the two of them after all. Of course, and Jungkook but Taehyung was still not sure if the younger could hear him at all.
And there it was. The real reason why she was here. His entire body stiffened and he kept his eyes forward, staring at absolutely nothing on the wall on the opposite side of the room. In that past what she was suggesting might of enticed him. But not only did he feel a responsibility to be here by Jungkooks side, not as his Omega necessarily but he was around solely for the Alphas, but there was something in his heart, no in his soul, that was telling him he needed to stay. Something between the two of them had been shifting.
He needed to it up. He needed to grow some courage and finally end it with Taeyeon. No matter how afraid he was of her. He needed to listen to his gut. "Consider the deal off, Taeyeon," He tried to speak loud and strong but his voice betrayed him and was shaky, quiet, obviously nervous and scared.
"I'm sorry for wasting your time. But, I no longer need to go anywhere else. Where I need to be is right here by your brothers side." He didn't dare turn to look at her, his hands trembling while he spoke, "I do thank you for your assistance until now but.. Please, I won't need it any further. You'll need to find somebody else. I will pay off the debt I owe you and then it's over."
@☼┊wen wonwoo ᵃ the moment the authorities got word of the unknown man with life-threatening injuries, they rushed to investigate. after a quick exchange of information, they made a shocking discovery: the man in question was none other than jungkook. through the headmaster’s connections, they managed to retrieve his contact details, and it was then revealed that this man had been searching for his nephew for days.
jungkook had been missing for a few days, a disappearance that usually wouldn’t raise eyebrows. he was known for disappearing on his own, seeking solitude or following impulsive whims. but this time, it felt different - different for wonwoo, who had never stopped worrying.
while jungkook’s absence was typically brushed off by others, wonwoo couldn’t shake the feeling of unease that had gnawed at him in the pit of his stomach. he had always been protective of Jungkook, though the younger man often brushed off his concern.
inside the operating room, doctor lee worked tirelessly, carefully mending jungkook's wounds and clearing his system of the dangerous toxins that had been coursing through his veins. the damage was severe - his body was weak, his brain showed little activity, and he remained unresponsive. life support was all that kept him tethered to the world, and even that seemed fragile.
as he laid in the hospital room, hours passed. wonwoo stayed by jungkook’s side, his heart heavy with the weight of what could have been - what still might be. jungkook's body was unresponsive, however, he heard every word his uncle had said.
he heard his uncle’s voice, tender and filled with emotion. he had been searching for him all this time - desperate, regretful, and lost. jungkook’s body may have been frail, his spirit too weak to respond, but his heart stirred. there were so many unanswered questions, so much unresolved anger buried deep within him. years of silence, of being abandoned - did that really mean nothing to the man who now stood at his bedside, calling him softly, desperately?
had it really come to this? jungkook thought. was this truly what he wanted all along?
he had spent so long hating wonwoo for giving up on him, for not fighting harder to keep him close. yet, hearing his uncle’s voice - so full of regret and sorrow - it made him feel something he hadn’t allowed himself to feel for years: vulnerability. the walls he’d built around himself were beginning to crack, and jungkook was left grappling with emotions he wasn’t sure how to process.
he had never imagined that his uncle would come searching for him. that he would be here, now, when he needed him most. the years of anger, the bitterness, all of it rushed through his mind as he lay there, too weak to speak. w
was it really too late for forgiveness? could they rebuild what had been lost? would his uncle stand by him, or was it just another empty promise?
@☼┊wen jungkook ᵃ wonwoo sighed, rubbing his temple, jungkook's last remarks still echoing in his mind. how could he make up for the years he thought he was abandoning his nephew? the young man wasn’t at fault—not at all. it was his mistake—for not trying to be a better figure in his nephew’s life. maybe—just maybe—he did regret it.
all those years of acting distant toward jungkook were because he didn’t want to make things worse than they already were. how many times had ruohan threatened him not to spoil jungkook too much, just in case it made him weak? but wonwoo knew better. his nephew wasn’t easily broken. he knew the young man’s strengths and weaknesses; after all, he had trained him since he was a child.
wonwoo used to tend to his nephew’s wounds and bruises from ruohan’s rough training sessions, often assuring the young alpha that it was all for his own good—to shape him into someone reliable and responsible. even when he tried to talk to ruohan about jungkook’s issues, he was always cut off and reminded that he had no right to speak on jungkook’s behalf. he disagreed but had no choice but to obey since ruohan was the pack’s leader.
“just because you’re the protector of the clans doesn’t mean you have the right to teach me how to raise my own son.”
those words always left wonwoo defeated. after hyunjin was born, he shifted his attention to the younger child, using it as a cover for the guilt and helplessness he felt about jungkook.
but now, something felt off. after sending a text to jungkook saying he was on his way, wonwoo couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong. his alpha instincts were on edge, agitated by an unshakable unease. he sighed and dialed jungkook’s number again, but no one answered.
despite his stoic demeanor and his tendency to appear indifferent, wonwoo was worried. he dispatched some of his people to search for the heir. eventually, he received devastating news: jungkook had been hospitalized after a major accident.
when wonwoo found out, his heart raced. without wasting a second, he rushed to the hospital. upon arriving, he found jungkook lying unconscious as the doctor informed him of the coma. staring at his nephew on the hospital bed, wonwoo sighed deeply. “you’re so weak... lying here in this condition."
he pulled the chair closer to the bed. "you've been through worse, haven't you? you should remember those times when you got back up. this is no different. i know i shouldn’t have let things get this far. i let ruohan dictate too much, and you had to pay for my cowardice. wake up soon. you need to wake up and prove to me that i’m not too late to fix this."
he hesitated for a moment. he wasn’t the type who fancied physical affection, but in that moment, he just wanted to hold his nephew’s hand—to let him know he was there and that he would stand by him, no matter what had happened.
wonwoo finally took his nephew’s hand and sighed deeply. “don’t you dare give up now, jungkook. you have to stay alive—taehyung needs you. i know it’s my job to protect our people, but that man needs you.” how does he even wants to tell what just happened to taehyung? that man just lost — his child — their child. where wonwoo knows better that it was also jungkook's. he sighed. the thought of taeyeon's reckless actions makes him annoyed. "but I'll do my best to be there for you and him — as much as i can to protect you both."
@☼┊wen taehyung ᵒ@☼┊wen jungkook ᵃ "My brother...?" Hearing the news of what happened to her brother, Taeyeon stood up from her desk, slamming both of her hands on the table with a gritted teeth. "Where is he admitted now?" She asked one of the strong ones who came to bring her the message of her younger brother's accident. Once they told her where he is, she starts to storm off her own chamber and she rides her own car towards the destination. Her plan on dethroning her brother was going smoothly but this is much more easier than she anticipated to happen.
But once she was about to go inside the hospital, she saw the glimpse of her favorite spy, Taehyung, rushing inside the premises. Now the poor omega has feelings for the one he wanted to ran away from, Taeyeon remained her ground and away from near from the omega. But she kept watch on the omega where he is heading, every steps, every rooms he goes to, Taeyeon must know.
A few months had passed, yet Taeyeon never visited Jungkook's ward. Yet she keep watch of the omega, thinking he might spill him the secret only the female alpha and the poor omega agreed upon, or she will make Taehyung's living hell into an unescapable hellish reality. But of course, their dead offspring already broke into the room with the omega telling the slumbered alpha. Her name was never mentioned, so far so good.
All those months that Jungkook is still in bed and unresponsive, all his responsibilities was taken care of Taeyeon. Jungkook is the heir but when he is gone off the radar, the closest responsibility of the missions were the role of the other capable sibling for the job, mainly her. Maybe the fates had their support on her on taking the birthright she always wanted. Even their father, who taught Jungkook is the right man to sit the throne, had no choice but to choose his first born to take care of the things that should be Jungkook's responsibility.
This snowy day, Taeyeon had the courage to visit his room. No bodyguards with her, just her. She wears a black coat that covered most of her body. But her scent is strikingly strong towards those who knew her, especially Taehyung. She brought a basket of fruits for them, despite how awful she is towards Jungkook and Taehyung, the kindness in the back of her heart is still there.
Never did Taeyeon got a glimpse of her brother's sorry state, but once she stepped inside the room, the first thing she saw was Jungkook lying on the bed, unresponsive and in coma. She should be grateful her brother is in this state but, she couldn't smile, she couldn't express it. She remained stoic still.
Then her head went to Taehyung's direction, "How is he?" She asked him, wanting to know his condition. But the next question could raise an alarm towards the other, "Why do you look solemnly quiet? You should be happy that my brother is in this state." She asked the omega before placing the basket on the table as she walked closely towards Taehyung. "I might think this might be the end of our bargain." She stopped a meter away from him, "It might take long for him to wake up, and now you can walk away and be free, be with your sister, live your life you wanted away from here."
@☼┊wen taeyeon ᵃ@☼┊wen taehyung ᵒ the passing days blurred together for jungkook, yet taehyung remained, an unyielding constant amidst his unchanging existence. while snowstorms raged beyond the window, a stark contrast to the warm beige sanctuary of his hospital room, taehyung's presence softened the cold within jungkook's heart. for the first time in his life, jungkook found himself a listener, captivated by taehyung's voice as he shared tales of his life - his dreams, ambitions, and struggles.
jungkook never thought he'd envy someone so much for their purity of spirit, but taehyung's resilience and hope pierced through his guarded heart. each story revealed the depth of the man beside him, and guilt gnawed at jungkook. how much of this light had he tried to snuff out? how much had he stolen in his cruelty?
taehyung’s care extended beyond words. he meticulously tended to jungkook’s body, working with nurses to keep his muscles from deteriorating. it was humiliating in some ways - being so helpless, reduced to nothing more than a burden. yet, it was taehyung's gentle, unwavering devotion that made jungkook yearn to wake up. he wanted to tell taehyung he was sorry, that he understood now. perhaps, if he was granted a second chance, he could be better - not for his father or his legacy, but for taehyung.
two months had passed since the accident. jungkook’s body had grown stronger, his breathing steadier, though he still relied on life support. on this thursday, heavy snow painted the world outside white, and the crackling fireplace filled the room with a gentle warmth. jungkook couldn't see it, but taehyung described it beautifully, his words like brushstrokes painting vivid imagery in jungkook's mind.
taehyung laid beside him on the bed, his scent calming the storm within jungkook's mind. then came the revelation that shook jungkook to his core - a lost child. taehyung’s soft voice was laced with sorrow as he recounted the tragedy, and jungkook’s still, silent heart ached. he wanted to reach out, to tell taehyung he was sorry for his loss. he wanted to ask if taehyung had been ready for such a responsibility, to share in his grief. yet all he could do was listen, trapped within his unresponsive body.
for the first time, the idea of a life beyond the heirloom, beyond the crushing expectations, seemed possible. a life with taehyung. perhaps not one filled with grandeur and power, but one of love, simplicity, and family. a future where he wasn't weighed down by duty but lifted by the warmth of someone who truly cared.
the moment was interrupted as another presence entered the room. the scent hit jungkook before the footsteps did - sharp, familiar, and unwelcome. taeyeon. the air shifted, and kai stirred restlessly within him, bristling at her proximity.
jungkook remained still, his body unresponsive but his mind sharp, taking in every word. he could hear the calculated edge in taeyeon's voice as she spoke, though the exact words were lost to the roaring storm of his own emotions. his hatred for her burned bright, yet he was powerless to act.
all he could do was lie there, a silent witness to the brewing tension, as taehyung's warmth beside him warred with the cold presence of the woman jungkook despised most. it felt like a battle in itself, even though he was trapped in the stillness of his own body. the only thing he could do now was hope - hope that taehyung wouldn't let her break the fragile sanctuary they had built in this quiet, snow-draped room.
He hadn't woken up that first day, of course Taehyung hadn't expected him to actually wake up just because he told him to. This wasn't a movie, this was real life. But.. of course there'd been some hope. That after a month he would of just.. miraculously made a recovery. Things could go back to the ty normal they had always been. He wouldn't mind it. Anything but the current reality.
He was able to somehow convince them to let him stay. Not in the hospital of course, but in a hotel within walking distance so he could visit Jungkook whenever he wanted to during hours - which was the entire time visiting hours was open, of course. The nurses had started to just bring him food to make sure he was eating, bringing him tea and water as well.
His days were spent mostly talking to Jungkook about anything and everything. About things they'd never even spoken about before, things he'd never dared to talk to Jungkook about. As if he was talking to an old friend and not an abuser.
He talked to him about dreams he used to have. About what life used to be like with his grandparents before everything happened. How he used to go venturing into the fields and the forests and get lost and there was never any danger in doing so. He talked about how he used to sing but since the day he was taken it was like he'd lost his voice
Sometimes he would stop by a library nearby before coming to Jungkook, he'd through the book in it's entirety over a few days. He'd read books he'd been wanting to pick up but it seemed like time was never there to really get lost in the fantasy worlds, and now he was getting lost in them with Jungkook.
He'd help the nurses and doctors when they came in to move Jungkook around, to help them clean him up, to brush his hair, cut his nails. It was so personal, almost intimate if it weren't for the fact that Jungkook was still in a coma. Sometimes he could of sworn he felt Jungkooks fingers twitching, it would make his heart jolt for a moment but he still didn't wake.
Through all of this Taehyung still felt empty. He still felt like there was a part of him that had been lost with the baby. He hadn't talked about it. Until one of the days he'd moved up into the bed with Jungkook, just to be close to him. Without really thinking he had moved Jungkooks hand across to rest over his tummy and that broke the walls he'd set up to guard whatever he was feeling about that situation.
He cried. He cried hard and long. He cried for what was lost. He cried for what he longed for. He cried until it eventually stopped and only then did he talk to him about it. "We lost a baby.." He spoke softly, a hushed conversation between the two of them, "I didn't even know we were expecting, but.. I lost it.." His voice choked up at that and he sniffled again, "I lost it and every day I wake up and I feel empty.. I don't know how you would of reacted, maybe you'd be relieved.. But, despite everything I'm sad, Jungkookie.. I always wanted a family... I always wanted at least one kid.. But I ed up. I screwed up and I got hurt and I lost it.. and there's nobody else who understands except maybe you.."
That entire day he spent curled up with Jungkooks lifeless body, he needed the comfort through the lows, sure he had friends, he had his sister, but they didn't understand.
He had been fixing up Jungkooks blankets around him when he felt that uncomfortable aura he'd unfortunately grown familiar with. Taeyeon. It was like the hairs on the back of his neck were standing up, a chill running through his entire body. What was she doing here?
doctor lee continued his relentless care, refusing to relinquish jungkook’s case despite the pressure from the hospital’s leadership to transfer it to another physician. the headmaster of the academy had explicitly demanded that doctor lee remain in charge, and so he did, tirelessly monitoring the boy who lay lifeless yet fighting.
attempts to contact jungkook’s family yielded only partial success. it was his uncle, wonwoo, who responded. wonwoo stayed by his side, sometimes speaking softly into the phone to jungkook’s father, sometimes to his sister taeyeon. though jungkook lay motionless, his body weakened by the coma, his mind remained acutely aware. he heard everything. every word, every sigh, every plan whispered near him.
even through the fog of his suffering, one truth seared his consciousness: taehyung never visited.
there were hushed conversations about options - harsh words that spoke of ending life support if he didn’t wake soon. each word stabbed him with anguish. he wanted to scream, to prove he was still alive, still here, but his body betrayed him. pain engulfed him - the sharp ache of atrophy, the gnawing hunger, the suffocating weight of being trapped within himself.
yet, nothing compared to the ache of loneliness.
he had always been cruel, he knew that. he lashed out because it was all he had left. unwanted by his parents, despised by his family, reduced to a tool for his father’s ambitions. even wonwoo, the closest thing he had to a father figure, seemed to teeter on the brink of abandonment. were they all waiting for him to die? was this the easiest way to be rid of him?
but then, one day, a familiar scent pierced through the sterile air of the icu. it hit his senses like sunlight through storm clouds. taehyung.
jungkook’s icy heart wavered. he had been so horrible to taehyung - his words sharp as blades, his demeanor cold and dismissive. he didn’t hate the omega, not really. if he were honest with himself, he was used to him. taehyung’s presence, though begrudged, was grounding in a way jungkook didn’t fully understand. he hadn’t admitted it before, but taehyung was the only one who stayed, even when it wasn’t easy. even when jungkook pushed him away.
warmth spread through him when taehyung’s hand enveloped his own. he wanted to squeeze it, to tell him he was still here, still fighting.
'don’t give up on me.'
taehyung’s voice trembled with quiet determination and the occasional crack of grief. he spoke to jungkook as though he were awake, his words spilling out in a desperate attempt to reach him. jungkook’s heart raced at the sound, the monitor’s numbers shifting slightly, though it went unnoticed by the omega.
the gentle sobs that broke through taehyung’s words shattered the frozen shell around jungkook’s heart. he hated the pain in that voice, hated that he had caused it.
'if I wake up... I’ll be different,' he thought, a silent vow. 'I’ll try. for you. '
but for now, all he could do was listen, hoping taehyung would never stop talking. never stop holding his hand. never stop believing in him. because that is all he had left.
Time passed... Time passed so slowly.. He had moved some of his things into Jungkooks dorm almost immediately. As weird as it might seem to anyone on the outside Taehyung needed the Alphas scent and everything in his dorm smelled like him. Only a day after being discharged from hospital his heat cycle had hit, the timing less than ideal.
It had been a miserable week. Usually heat was spent with Jungkook as much as possible, and at least his needs were satisfied no matter how out of his head he was the entire time. This time, however, he spent it miserable and uncomfortable, curled up amongst the sheets doing the best he could with what he had.
Even still once that was over he still hadn't heard a word about Jungkooks condition. He'd sent the younger text after text in the hopes that he'd wake up and respond. But the silence was loud. And concerning. Each passing day with no news felt worse and worse. To anyone else he might of seemed crazy, hell even to himself he thought he was crazy. Why did he even care so much? Jungkook treated him like shouldn't he be happy that he was out of his life.
But, there was something deep inside him that missed having the Alpha around. He also missed Kai. He spent so much of his time just sitting around in Jungkooks hoodies, his nose buried into the fabric just breathing in the two of them with his eyes closed. Sometimes he cried. Sometimes he felt angry. He felt empty. His mind drifting back to the loss of the child that had been theirs was something that happened often - it took a couple of weeks for his stomach to stop the cramping completely, and although he never knew he had been pregnant in the first place and even though it had been a product of the abuse Jungkook put him through, he still felt sad. The loss had his heart aching whenever he thought of it.
He'd always been family orientated, long before he was taken from his home by Jungkook. He'd always dreamed of having a family, of having children. And if this was the situation he was going to be stuck in for the rest of his life, having a baby with Jungkook was the only way he'd achieve that. The loss weighed heavy on his soul. He found himself dreaming a lot, dreaming of a life where he and Jungkook were happy, a life that was the total opposite of reality. A life where he was happy and carefree.
Then he'd wake up and reality would hit all over again. He was missing a lot of classes. Falling into a depression that was hard to shake. When he was in classes he'd find himself spacing out completely, missing half the lessons, wandering the halls mindlessly like a zombie. He didn't know what was wrong with himself and he couldn't seem to shake it no matter what he did. He'd smile, mask the emptiness, when he was talking with others but as soon as he was alone again it was like he'd shut down. His body didn't want to feel.
He was barely eating, he was sleeping way too much, finding it hard to do much else. Every chance he got he'd asked Wonwoo for an update. But there was never anything. Every day was harder than the one before. Once again he'd lost everything that was normal for him. It was a ty normal, but it was still normal.
Finally one day he had news. Jungkook was still in a coma but he was allowed to know where he was. He demanded to be taken there. He needed to see for himself. He fought and fought and fought until finally he was allowed to go and he packed a small travel bag and set off.
The moment he finally got to see the Alpha he didn't know what to think or what to feel. He'd never seen Jungkook look so small before. His eyes travelled slowly over the machines the younger was hooked up to, having no idea what basically any of them did, all he knew was there was a lot. He assumed they were what were keeping Jungkook alive. How long would they try before they gave up? The thought scared him.
Slowly, he sat down in the chair beside Jungkook, his hands finding one of the Alphas and closing over it with both of his own, his gaze was sad while he looked at his face, rubbing his thumbs slowly over his hands while he tried to think of what to say. He cleared his throat softly before letting out a slow exhale, sitting up straighter.
"Jungkook..? Can you hear me..?" He asked softly, using Jungkooks name rather than Master just felt right at the moment. He seemed so ... human. So fragile. "Please.. if you can hear me I need you to come back to me, okay? It's been.. a month now.. they finally let me come see you.." Without even realising it his eyes were starting to well with tears, the liquid slipping down his cheek freely, "It sounds insane but I miss you.. I miss your stupid condescending laugh, and I miss your stupid smile, and I just miss your voice.."
His voice started to crack as he spoke, dropping his head down to rest over their hands as he sniffled, "Please.. Jungkook, I need you.. I need you to wake up now. Please? I'm begging you. You like it when I beg right? I am /begging/ you. Please wake up.. Please come back to us.."
the sound of desperate voices and the rhythmic thud of chest compressions echoed in the stillness of the snowy night.
' one, two... twenty-nine, thirty! ' the paramedic counted aloud, his hands moving rapidly against the blood-stained chest of the young man sprawled in the snow. another paramedic crouched beside him, securing a mask over the unconscious man's face, delivering two careful breaths using a bag-valve mask. each breath misted the frozen air, the urgency unmistakable.
no one knew how long he had been lying there, but the crimson patches staining the pristine white snow painted a grim picture. someone had seen him, someone had called, and someone had saved him - though just barely. within minutes, the paramedics arrived, fighting against the odds to keep him alive.
' he's fibrillating! ' the paramedic administering breaths suddenly shouted, his voice strained as the heart monitor displayed chaotic, irregular waves. ' get the pads! now! ' sticky chest pads were applied hastily - one to his right pectoral muscle, the other below his heart. the defibrillator whined before delivering a sharp jolt of electricity, causing the young man's body to jerk violently. another shock. and another. each one sent a fresh wave of adrenaline through the team, but the rhythm on the screen soon flattened into a disheartening straight line.
' live, damn it! ' the paramedic growled, returning to chest compressions with renewed determination. sweat beaded on his forehead, his exhaustion evident. but just as hope seemed to dim, the monitor beeped. a steady rhythm returned, faint but present. his chest began to rise and fall again - shallow, but alive.
' let’s move!' the lead paramedic barked. they worked in unison, lifting the young man onto a stretcher and rushing him to the ambulance, his battered body hooked to monitors and IVs as the vehicle sped toward the nearest hospital.
at the hospital, the emergency department was already prepped. they worked swiftly, drawing blood and rushing him through a ct scan. doctor Lee, a wolf himself, oversaw the chaos, his sharp gaze scrutinizing every detail. something was wrong - gravely wrong. the young man's wounds should have been healing by now, but his body wasn’t responding.
the lab results soon provided the answer. his blood was tainted with a toxin, a poison that acted as a suppressant to his natural regenerative abilities. until it was cleared, his body was vulnerable - fragile, like a human’s.
what worried doctor lee even more was the scan of his brain. a massive hemorrhage darkened the occipital lobe, dangerously close to the medulla oblongata. minimal electrical activity flickered in his brain, a faint whisper of life that hung precariously in balance. the prospect of a coma was grim enough, but the threat of locked-in syndrome loomed like a shadow.
' he’s not healing, ' doctor lee muttered, his tone grim as he reviewed the chart. ' switch the saline to ringer’s lactate, and adjust the parenteral feeding. he’s hypoglycemic, and his sodium levels are low. thankfully, potassium’s under control. ' he glanced at the young man on the bed. his face, though battered and pale, stirred something familiar in lee’s memory. it wasn’t until he checked the patient’s shoulder and saw the wen crest etched into his skin that realization struck him like a lightning bolt.
ruohan’s son.
lee’s breath hitched. his hands trembled as he closed the file and hurried to his office, locking the door before picking up the phone. the implications of what he’d just discovered were staggering. this wasn’t just any patient; this was a wen heir, someone whose injury could send ripples of chaos through their tightly controlled world.
' yes, headmaster, ' lee said into the receiver, his voice low. ' I’ll keep it confidential......he’s in the ICU now.....we’re doing everything we can, but… we don’t know when he’ll wake up. ' his eyes wandered to the falling snow outside, his unease growing with every passing second. ' should I inform his guardian? he has a sister, doesn’t he? '
he listened, nodding slowly at the instructions. hanging up, he leaned back in his chair, the weight of the revelation settling heavily on his shoulders. outside, the snow fell in soft whispers, covering the world in quiet beauty - a cruel contrast to the storm raging within the hospital.
jungkook laid in a deep coma, suspended between life and death. and for now, all anyone could do was wait.
Day 1:
"Jungkook? Are you not coming? They told me they tried to contact you but haven't heard from you in hours.. Are you that cold hearted you don't even give a damn enough to check?"
Day 2:
"OKay... I've had enough of the silent treatment now. I didn't do this on purpose you know? I'm sure it's very frustrating for you to have to deal with but the least you could do is come and check on me, yknow?"
Day 3:
"Are you SERIOUS? you have /no idea/ what the hell i've been going through the last couple of days. you're seriously not coming? at all?"
"Apparently nobody has heard from you? Where are you? Did you go on vacation or something?"
Day 5:
"When I get out of here... I don't even know what I'm going to do. I'm /pissed/ Jungkook. I'm going through hell in here and you can't even come to support me. After all the bull you've put me through you can't even sit your stupid down in the chair beside me for 5 ing minutes? You know it's your own damn fault I'm still stuck in here. Since you're not going to turn up I'll just tell you. You ing si-- I fell and I lost your baby. Didn't even know it was there but it's gone now. There you go. At least you don't have to deal with that up, ha. I'm not going to bother trying after this. Maybe you've decided to leave me the alone finally."
---
The day finally came when he was to be discharged, and still he hadn't heard a single word from Jungkook. Honestly, if he wasn't feeling so hurt he might of been worried. But, he figured the Alpha was just doing some kind of disappearing act until everything had blown over. Just as he'd finished packing his small amount of belongings up a nurse had come back into his room to talk to him.
He was shocked. Stunned. He couldn't even think. Accident? Jungkook was in some kind of accident? Coma? He demanded to know where Jungkook was but they told him that he wasn't on school premises and they couldn't give his exact location.
Eventually after leaving Taehyung had ended up back at Jungkooks dorm, letting himself into the room with the spare key he always had on him. They were telling the truth, the room had obviously not been touched in days. He felt numb. His body seemed to be on autopilot as he closed and locked the door behind him, crossing the room to sit on the edge of the bed and just stare at nothing, trying to come to terms with what little information they had given him.
His eyes landed on a familiar pack on the nightstand and he dragged it over, rubbing his thumbs slowly over before flipping open the top and pulling out one of Jungkooks cigarettes. He seemed to always have one when he was stressed, maybe it would work for Taehyung too, right? He lit it up and took in a deep inhale, immediately choking on the smoke, tears springing to his eyes from the coughing until eventually he had broken down into deep sobs.
Why was he even crying? If Jungkook were to die would that not make all his problems go away? His hand had moved over his stomach, caressing the space where there used be a child that they both had made. It was starting to feel like in just a week he'd lost everything that was normal for him. Sure, it wasn't a great normal but it was a normal nonetheless. Plus, it had started to feel like maybe he and Jungkook could fix whatever the issue was that the Alpha had with him, that apparently wasn't actually an issue with him specifically.
He somehow managed to finish off the cigarette, stubbing it out in the ashtray while he pulled a disgusted face - really not understanding what Jungkook enjoyed about the habit at all in the end. His hands were shaking as he pulled out his phone, once again dialing Jungkooks number which once again immediately went to voicemail,
"Jungkook... they just told me what happened.. but they won't tell me where you are.... i guess you might not really want me there, but.. - all those other... i didn't mean most of what i said... it's been rough, but well i guess it's been rougher for you. I -- , Jungkook you better not die okay? i swear on fenrir if you die i'm going to drag your stupid back from hell kicking and screaming.. you're an but you're /my/ and you better not leave me here alone to deal with all this . you hear me? you better wake up soon. please wake up soon.."
another day, another duty. jungkook had been away from the academy for two days, having requested permission from his uncle to leave. what he hadn’t expected was for wonwoo to still be there, though the man had left early.
the business meeting was supposed to be insignificant, a mere formality - another pack trying to arrange a deal with the wen pack. ruohan had been less than impressed, his expectations dashed when the other party dared to defy him. that’s when jungkook acted out. without warning, he slammed a metallic chopstick into the hand of one of the opposing leaders, pinning it to the table. a scoff from his uncle followed, while his father gave him a proud nod. little did he know, that moment of defiance would lead to his doom.
a few hours later, jungkook’s phone buzzed with a message from wonwoo, demanding his immediate return. taehyung was injured. the words barely registered with him - he didn’t care about the omega - but something deep within him stirred at the thought of someone hurting what belonged to him. taehyung was his. his to control, his to break.
anger flared inside him, as he packed his bag and headed out to his harley davidson. the bike stood proudly by the entrance, like a black stallion awaiting its master. jungkook straddled it, the hum of the engine roaring to life beneath him. with one final glance back at the nightless city, he revved the engine and tore off toward the academy.
the snowy horizon of moonstone valley beckoned him, the frosty air biting at his skin as he sped through the valley. he slowed for the pedestrians in the village, but the brake wasn’t responding. panic started to seep in as dizziness clouded his mind. suddenly, black suvs appeared, closing in around him like predators circling their prey. kai, sensing danger, growled in his mind, warning jungkook to slow down. but the brakes remained unresponsive. the black cars squeezed him in from both sides, not giving him any room to maneuver. his heart raced as the tinted windows kept their occupants hidden from view.
',' jungkook muttered, his grip tightening on the handlebars.
the first car nudged him to the side, its steel frame scraping against his motorcycle. he fought to maintain control, but the second car soon followed suit, slamming into him again. the force was enough to throw him off balance, his body jolting as the vehicles trapped him between them. pain exploded through his body as his legs were crushed beneath the weight of the suvs. a scream - half frustration, half agony - ripped from his throat. the vehicles finally released their hold, pushing him forward, but he couldn’t stop. not because of the brakes, but because of the crushing pain in his legs. his muscles screamed in protest and the metal beneath him refused to stop.
the second suv sped up, its engine growling like a beast, and slammed into his bike once again. the speed was brutal - 120 km per hour - and jungkook couldn’t keep up. the bike wavered violently, the front wheel slipping.
in an instant, the world blurred. the bike collided with a tree with a sickening crunch, the impact throwing him violently over the handlebars. his body was flung against the trunk, his head slamming into the rough bark.
the world went dark.
jungkook’s bloodied body lay in the snow, unrecognizable, broken beyond repair. his healing powers were of no use now. kai, the wolf, howled in panic, slamming against the invisible walls of their shared mind, but his cries were silenced too.
above, the clear sky of moonstone valley stretched on - beautiful, serene, untouched by the chaos below. the snowy mountains loomed, indifferent to the tragedy unfolding beneath them.
jungkook had tried. he had rushed to taehyung’s side, furious and desperate, but it had all been in vain. and as the night grew colder, his once unstoppable life came to an abrupt, tragic halt.
hi~ i think i wanna join as Hwang hyunjin (skz) if he's available. also got a Question.
i kinda wanna be full human. without any wolf power. can they still be part of a pack? and do they need to be a Alpha, beta omega?
i kinda want him to be a human that is a staff member and is a nurse/doctor assistant. good in herbalism.
