@☆ Chanyeol Upon hearing the other’s lighthearted laugh, Yoona felt all the blood inside her body rise to her face. Despite the wash of relief that had happened the first time he laughed like that, the brunette still couldn’t help but to feel mixed emotions parading inside of her. Should be even more embarrassed because of the fact that he’s actually laughing at her right now? Should she be relieved that the atmosphere finally loosened up a bit better than before? Or should she just smack the table and abandon her date (in which was the last option she’d consider, unless needed) to avoid such frustrations in her once peaceful life?
Ah, what the hell.
“Okay, that was totally unexpected.” Yoona thoughtlessly muttered out, her gaze fixed upon the tissue he was holding out before she took it and smiled sheepishly. “Never knew I had it in me.” She joked. The female brunette surely calmed down for a second there, for it seemed as if Chanyeol wasn’t exactly that affected with her ‘not so embarrassing water spitting’ moment. It would have been a major turn off for other guys, but well, maybe his perspective might have been a whole lot different.
Noticing how he took the menu book, Yoona followed the urge to open up hers as well. Took a lot of time to actually take their orders and eat, she silently thought to herself, which earned a small smile from the female. She silently skimmed through the pages of the menu book, and to her surprise (and that sudden pain in the wallet); the prices might have already be the other cause of some water spitting accident once more.
She tried to force a smile. “Scallops. Quite expensive, but sure.” Her eyes shifted towards the lad, flashing off that slightly uneasy look on her face, before halting into a quick thought. “Just let me pay half, alright?” The brunette firmly stated. Yoona wasn’t exactly a fan of fine dining and class-A restaurants—in all honesty, she’d prefer street grubs and whatnot—but of course, it would be rude if she’d reject his offer and not even bother to pay anything. Not to mention how her stomach almost growled for food at that very moment, so why not?
Despite her previous hesitation, Yoona then fixed her gaze into the menu once more and finally took notice of all the glory the menu book had held the entire time. The overwhelming feeling of hunger eventually washed away her previous self-consciousness, and was replaced with the sudden want of devouring all the food that was led before her eyes—she could’ve sworn that her drool’s supposed to show itself right about now.
“I’ll have a plate of lasagna too, with an extra side—make it a Caesar salad, please. And some iced tea with lemon.” She subconsciously murmured, quite distracted at the thought of food, she was. “Maybe a slice of vanilla cake too.. or chocolate? Which is yummier?” The girl finally looked up to him, with an expression that seemed to mirror her confusion on what flavor of cake should she let her stomach consume.
@☆ Woobin [i'm so sorry it's short and bad -- ;AAAAA;]
Parties aren’t Sunggyu’s cup of tea—especially private parties that involved his ex-classmates from high school.
When he looked through his letters a few days ago, he was rather surprised to find himself invited to a birthday party hosted by one of his friends in high school. It wasn’t a pleasant surprise for him, considering how he hated to be in contact with these people of his past. Sunggyu remembers his unfortunate past, from looking at them flaunting their wealth. He didn’t want to be associated with them, until he climbs back up onto where his family used to stand.
As much as he didn’t want to attend the party, he did. It was unnecessarily rude if he didn’t attend, and he thought that perhaps his ex-classmate really wanted him to be there (he wasn’t sure why would he think that his ex-classmate wants him there). Picking out clothes that seemed suitable was hard for Sunggyu. The only presentable clothes he had was his work clothes—a few button up shirts and trousers. They aren’t in good conditions, since he had worn them since he started working, but it’ll do, probably.
Sunggyu reached later than he had expected, and people were up and about, socialising. He took this as a chance to mix into the crowd, trying to be as discreet as possible, settling himself on a chair at a far corner. He hoped that no one would notice him and attempt to strike a conversation with him, since he’s not ready to be talking about his luxurious hobbies or how smooth his car cruises on land. He doesn’t have time for a hobby; neither does he have a car that he owns. The only transport that he uses is the public bus. To him, it’s convenient and cheap—nothing bad about it. (But these people are rich—they have never taken public transport.)
A glass of white wine is his hand, Sunggyu stayed in his seat, making himself comfortable. He is pretty convinced that he will be staying in this position for the rest of the night, until this party ends.
@☆ Yoona For a moment Chanyeol felt a flash of crimson shade creeping up his cheeks and it felt as if the restaurant was a living inferno. He felt as if a lump of air was stuck in his nose that could impede his breathing but realistically speaking, the flow of his breathing was smooth and for him to think that he was about to die in that very moment. The man couldn't help it, he was embarrassed to the point that he'd rather be connected with nature, gliding and cutting through the wave oh how he could just imagine catching the perfect wave.
He was awaken from the stiffness brought by his careless mouth when he felt a sudden wetness attacked his hand, on a second thought maybe this girl isn't so bad of a company after all. Well now at least he knows he was not the only one in that shame spot. At this point, people's views on them wasn't so important anymore. He seized the nearest napkin he could ever land his hand on and gave it to the girl upon landing his eyes on the liquid dripping down the corner of her lip. He let a soft chuckle slip out of his lips as he went along. Chanyeol started to loosen up a bit, and for once date is actually fun.
"Now I see the reason why our friends set us up," chuckling as he opened up the menu book that had been sitting on the table needing their attention for the last three minutes.
"Shall we actually order?" Feeling much more relaxed, Chanyeol read the menu thoroughly giving the girl a glance or two to make sure she had already fixed herself up and was actually over the fact that they both gave a rather interesting show inside a minute. "What do you think of scallop?" He met eyes with the girl and raised a brow waiting for a response.
@☆ Chanyeol Apparently, all the fear that had haunted her ever since the date started, was eventually washed away by the sound of his laughter. Yoona could already visualize herself being too much in a state of shock that her already enlargened doe eyes would pass as of those in cartoons that she and her step sister used to watch. Oh, she didn't care if it was exaggerating things up a bit but heck, Chanyeol just laughed, for crying out loud! And it was entirely overwhelming, no doubt. She even found herself laughing with the guy not until he felt all eyes on them that they both halted to a stop—with him fixing his gaze on the table as if it was the most interesting thing he had ever seen and her miraculously taking a sip on the glass of water she had not noticed a while ago, desperately trying to cover up their embarrassment.
And it just struck her how they were practically a bunch of losers who seemed to be amused of the thought of eating chicken s. How ironic, to think that they just met and all these 'accidents' happened. Though she had to admit, the first few minutes of this so called date came out naturally with a few specks of such bizarre events—yet still, Yoona had found it very much entertaining, in her opinion. Chanyeol wasn't exactly bad company. In fact, he seemed all too laid back that she honestly appreciated his completely 'out of the ordinary' sense of humor—
"S-sorry.. I'm allergic to ." Of all things that would take place, Yoona just had to spit out whatever liquid contained. Why did water suddenly tasted so bad at the mention of s?
It was then realization dawned upon her almost disturbingly for the second time around as the sight of their table partially wet with the mixture of water and her own saliva sunk into her head. "Oh crap—I am so sorry I didn't mean t-to.." Yoona finally took the initiative to snatch a table napkin nearby and carelessly wiped it around the wooden surface, with her face heating up in uttermost humiliation and not to mention her burning desire to rot to death at that same moment.
Oh, what a great loss of dignity, Yoong. Just great. How will you face him now?
@☆ Yoona Her silent mumble of gratefulness felt like a shout to Chanyeol, it penetrated through his ears as if it was rewarding. For the man, it was a good sign. At least he could finally let out the breath he’d been holding ever since that very first mere second of their meeting. If running away and leaving the girl hanging an option, well, why would Chanyeol do such thing. Instead of these crazy ideas occupy his head, the man slowly sat down, finger tapping on the edge of the table. Every second past felt like hours, the silence between the two was deadly as if he could almost hear what’s on other people’s head around them. Luckily though, that simple ‘so’ from the girl gave him an opportunity to gather all his thoughts back together into one place and prepare for what to say.
Chanyeol would let out a soft chuckle at the girl but for all he knows he’d be the one making fool of himself, at least for now he’s feeling a little bit comfortable knowing by assuming that the girl was probably feeling the same as he was. He does not have the slightest idea to why he is doing this to himself, actually at this point he does not know himself anymore. And this is one of the many reasons to why there are not many girls in his ‘fish farm’ or in a human term, friendship group.
“Chicken ?” it was a questionable moment if the man actually heard it right.
Chanyeol did not have time to worry about the atmosphere of their date anymore as he let out a rather loud “HA-HA!” which turned a few heads around. It was right and then when he felt a burning sensation raised from the tip of his toe to his throat. It was an extremely stupid thing to do, especially in a sophisticated and quiet atmosphere like this. He swore he could have hung his head then. But that was just part of his problem, how could he face the girl at this point.
“S-sorry” he cleared his throat. “I’m allergic to .” because of the embarrassment showering all over him, the man did not have time to rethink of what to say next and blurted out the next words that came up in his head. “I mean… chicken. Allergic to chicken.” Lies, full of lies. He was just not fond of chicken and wanted to tell her it the most not offensive word there is. Allergic though. Chanyeol could only let a sigh slip out of his mind, it was it, he had ruined the date, not only for him but also for the girl.
@☆ Chanyeol Yoona nearly jumped in her place as Chanyeol stood up almost immediately at her greeting. It was more than evident enough not to notice how he was indeed as nervous as she was, and the brunette could only internally theorize that blind dates might not be his thing as well—for a moment there, Yoona felt relieved. At least, their feelings regarding the set-up date was mutual, right? Besides, it did seem as if this day might get better, since the guy was pretty much decent in her perspective and if she had the right impression, he might be the type who’d get along well with her—then what could go wrong?
With another polite smile, Yoona then mumbled a silent ‘thank you’ before taking her seat. Though despite how she shrugged off the negative thought, the atmosphere seemed to be a bit… awkward. Was it just a random feeling in the gut—she did not know. One thing for sure is that the unnatural silence is slowly killing her, and Yoona can already feel her face heating up after each passing second.
“So..” She started, and yet her voice failed her ever so foolishly as it faltered in the end. Yoona mentally slapped herself. That was dangerously stupid, Yoong—she thought, her face flushing an even darker shade of crimson the moment her eyes met his for a brief moment. “..um, w-well, I hear they serve fine chicken s here.” She mindlessly blurted out as she fidgeted with the hem of her cardigan from underneath the table, before she actually realized what she had just said.
God, really? Chicken s?
She could’ve sworn that she might have looked like a living tomato by now. Maybe she might have assumed all too well, because mentioning about chicken s on a first date is not really a legit thing to do. And she was sure as hell that it did not help on making a good impression towards him at all.
Yoona could only manage to silently pray that he wouldn’t take it weirdly.
@☆ Yoona Chanyeol was hot, quite literal. Teetering in awkward steps as he made his way out of the taxi hastily, droplets of sweat came racing down his temple, yet who could he blame but himself. He was not a total fan of blind dates but what can he do after losing a bet. He could still hear small voices ringing his head some would say 'It would be fun', and others would comment 'She's really hot.' He was the least bit interested, if he's being honest. He's just figured out that dating is so time consuming, yet his views changed for this one.
Chanyeol looked slightly abashed, to say the least as he slowly entered the restaurant. A star quality, proper food, nice attire all in one, it was not a Chanyeol thing to do. Who could have thought that his cheeky friends could come up with an idea like this. It was lame. Walking toward a table with his checkered polo made him feel like a dog in a pool of cats, and at this point he was so sure that he was smelling rather yucky after perspiring like a dog. He made himself comfortable on the leather seat, eyes cautiously wandering around and does this people watching thing. A quick glance at the watch wrapped around his wrist then at the grandfather's clock by the entrance, yet Chanyeol thought he was late. He made all the mid morning rush for just waiting.
Chanyeol had kindly rejected a waiter's offer of help, for now at least, tongue knotting at the mention of 'date'. The purpose of all these rush in the morning had only registered in Chanyeol. The lad was still allergic to dating, it wasn't like he had a past experience but more on how in the world does this work. A young lady walked up to his table, his eyes suddenly felt glued on her. Heat rushed through his head and if it wasn't a high class restaurant but those local street restaurant, Chanyeol was quite positive his nervous sweat would come visible.
Upon the confirmation that she was indeed his date for the afternoon, Chanyeol quickly stood up and a tiny bit step on the right could have sent the tray on a waiter's hand yet Chanyeol had no idea. "N-no, not at all." Chanyeol stood before her and for some reason this made him utterly uncomfortable. "S-sit down." He sworn he could have smacked his face on the table for being awkward. And soon an empty air filled his head, at least he should come up of thing to say or the afternoon will just end up awkwardly.
It's past half twelve noon already, and for no apparent reason, that cab that she's currently in is stuck in a heavy jam of traffic. Not only that she's quite hotheaded at the moment, but the fact that Yoona's practically late for this date her friend had set her up with, still bothered her. God, everything's a mess. Without even thinking properly, the female brunette fished out a bill from her bag and blindly threw it towards the driver before rushing out thoroughly from the vehicle. Quite risky, taking it the long way, but the restaurant's only a few blocks away from her previous location so Yoona decided to take a run for it.
It almost took her five minutes before she could arrive at the venue herself. Apparently, her date was set up on a fine restaurant and yet she did not even bother on trying to fix herself--the hell would she care about her appearance, anyway. Yoona eventually shrugged off the thought and cautiously entered the place. Her eyes wandered almost everywhere until she spotted a lone guy sitting by the two-occupant table at the far corner of the restaurant. He seemed to be waiting for someone, and so far, had matched the descriptions her friend told her the day before--raven hair, tall, lean, and /quite/ attractive (you call that quite?).
For a moment there, Yoona couldn't believe her eyes. Her date was hot, for crying out loud! And it did not fail to make her feel the guilt well inside of her for making this guy wait more than half an hour for her to show up. She then straightened her cardigan and combed her hair with her fingers as quick as she could before taking in a deep breath. Yoona finally made her way towards her date, and stopped in front of him, trying to catch his attention.
"Um, hi. Chanyeol... right?" The brunette asked with evident anxiety. "I'm Yoona. Sorry for the tardiness, traffic is such a pain in the neck." She smiled apologetically, before shifting her gaze to her feet; pretty much embarrassed enough to meet his gaze.
Seolhyun left. I really want to be in this rp but it's too dead and most of them haven't rped in months. I will probably join back if it's active. I'm sorry. I really am.
