@s yuqi β Her eyes fluttered open at the faint jab of a needle entering her arm, some fluid, pain medication she assumed, being injected as she lay still on the bed. She tilted her head in one direction and took note of the few other bodies dressed in blue that were in the same position as she. Yet, they seemed to have been banged up much worse than she. Or so it seemed to her. The whole scene replayed in her memory. The shouting, the gun shots, direct orders being disobeyed, the searing pain that she briefly felt.
“I’ve been shot, that’s right.” Seulgi groaned under her breath, swearing to quit her job once she healed. She glanced around a bit more, a pinch of relief washed over her once she realized her partners were no where nearby. She had hoped that meant they were safe and not laying somewhere bruised and battered, or worse, dead. She didn’t really care for the job or the people sacrificing their lives for it, but she grew fond of the two and rarely admitted to it.
Her thoughts were then interrupted as a petite woman, probably not much taller than herself, as rounded the corner and placed her chart away. No words were said as the woman began working with the machine that read off Seulgi’s vitals.
“I’m fine you know…I doubt I need to be looked over compared to those humans.” Her words were hushed, audible enough for the sound to read the doctor’s ears and no one else’s.
@k seulgi β Tying a knot at the end of her stitch, Yuqi pulled on the needle so the thread would straighten, allowing a helper to cut it.
“Okay, that should be all of them. Miss Im, please bring this patient to ward twenty-seven. Everyone else, clean up after yourselves and check on the patients to make sure they’re doing fine.”
As all the doctors and nurses dispersed to clean up, Yuqi did too, disposing the blood stained gloves and coat, alongside the surgery cap. Washing her hands thoroughly and drying them, she finally left the emergency room to check on the patients who were rolled in that day. She received a clipboard of one of the patients and looked through the records, quickly making her way to the ward.
A terrible hostage situation which lasted for almost a whole day and a half took place. It was by a miracle the police were able to subdue the kidnappers and save the victims. Unfortunately, the culprits didn’t go down without a fight, and some were injured in the ordeal.
Entering the ward of one of the injured police officers, Yuqi approached the bed before slipping the clipboard into the bed pocket, walking around the room to do the usual vital check up on the patient to make sure she was fine.
