@k taehyung β Sae was usually hyper vigilant of the people around her, but today she was in more of a hurry and hadn't quite been paying attention like she should have been. She'd woken up a bit late, apparently having forgotten to set her alarm the night before, and she'd had to scramble to get dressed and get out of her dorm in time to make it across campus to her class.
She was almost obsessively checking the time on her phone, which was probably why she didn't see the man coming until she felt herself colliding with someone and stumbling backwards. The shock would have been enough to have her anxiety flaring, but the moment she felt a hand on her waist she flinched away, dropping her books as she instinctively shoved the other person away. She was in such a panic to get away that she lost her balance again and hit the ground with a soft groan of pain.
Shuffling backwards she didn't stop until her back hit a bench and she pulled her knees to her chest, trying to calm her racing heart at the spike of adrenaline that shot through her as she tried to figure out what just happened. She knew she'd hit someone, or someone had hit her and she had just enough presence of mind to look around to try to find the person, her guilty only growing when she realized they were probably just another student late to class too. "I'm--I'm so sorry..."
@m sae Ω As someone who's never attended a university, Taehyung can confirm they're far more intimidating up close.
The mouth of the campus opens up like an entirely new city, a stark but invisible line that separates the privileged from everyone else. The place where children go to unearth their dreams. Carve a reality out of them. Equip themselves with the skills and the networking ability to stay afloat in the rat race. None of it had ever appealed to Taehyung, a boy who led a life for satisfaction above all else. And while he knows he's far wiser than he cares to let on, he can't help but feel like an idiot as he stumbles around in search of a single building.
He knows places like this have campus maps--- that there's no way he could be the only one confused. But as he lifts his gaze, straining to meet the eyes of the bustling students around him, Taehyung's certain he's in this alone.
"Okay, breathe. You got this," he reminds himself. "It's just one building. Probably the biggest one. I mean, where else would a dean be---" His self-assuring rambles are cut short as his shoulder into someone. A girl, by the looks of it. Caught entirely off-balance by Taehyung's lack of attention. The beta is quick to lend a hand, literally reaching out to cup her by her wrist and right her stance.
