I like those jokes that can be enjoyed by everyone. like, fooling someone into believing there is some dirt on their shirt,” he explained and chuckled at the thought. he definitely did that before.
he looked at the cards, he recalled similar cards he played with during family gatherings when he was very young. “oh, then muggles would have a field day with these,” mal said, he knew exposing the wizarding world would be bad, but he would have loved to see the muggles’ reaction at playing with such weird cards. “but yes, these should not leave the wizarding world. muggles will find a way to use them for their own gain. and after all, these are supposed to be just a childish joke,” mal nodded shortly. his eyes lit up at the mention of the coloured fur balls. “merlin, yes! pygmy puffs! they are so adorable and loyal. when I was younger, one of my roommates had one named gilly. she was pink, and she really liked watching me draw. I think they are a great purchase, if you ever want a calm and fluffy companion. and owls are so useful and cute. I have a parakeet, but he really dislikes being used as a mailman. he tore apart a letter I wanted to send to a friend once, so I gave up trying to make him deliver my letters. I always use one of the owls in the owlery. her name is sunshine, you should meet her. she is a lovely bird,” mal smiled and picked up a pen. “oh this! invisible ink. but it does not write what you want it to. no matter what you write with it, it will replace it with a weird pick-up line. so do not write letters with it!”
@- ❛ ʀ ❜:maël clair。⁰² Justified it was, she had had enough of random things popping out at her these days. The attacks on the school made her fears all the more worse. Just thinking about something possibly popping up at her made the girl shiver. "I don't remember ever liking joke shops. They are usually full of things that are for mean jokes and those aren't nice at all! I like jokes that everyone can laugh at, not where it might hurt someone." Aka, she didn't want someone pulling a prank on her.
"Oh, I see. So these are actually fun cards to use. But they look so much like the muggle playing cards I have at home! What if they get into the wrong hands due to their similarities?! Oh, that wouldn't be good at all, now would it?" Even so, Emilia held onto the cards, finding their true purpose to be quite amusing. She couldn't wait to play a little trick on her best friend, Genevieve. It will all be in good fun of course. "Have you heard of those little puffle things that are at the Weasley Wizarding Wheezes? I heard that they're really cute little fluff balls. I really want one, but it's either that or an owl, and I really wanted and owl at the time."

@- ❛ ɢ ❜:emilia seong。⁰¹ emilia was a lovely person to have around. mal liked that they share the same chaotic enthusiastic for many things, especially those things that made little sense. the small things, the uncomplicated things, the raw feeling of joy. it was nice to have someone that, to some extent, understood how difficult it was to focus on one thing when there are so many things that should be explored. he liked sharing smiles with her, and he definitely thought she was pretty. he thought about asking her to pose for a painting, but he knew a live portrait would not be successful. she would move, or he would move – and she will end up looking smudged and blurry.
joke shops were a delight. not that he bought from them often, but he used to when he was younger. he was a little too ‘old’ now for such jokes, he preferred other type of pranks. the only reason he entered the shop was because she mentioned she has never been in it before. that, and because he thought he could perhaps buy something for his (boy)friend henri, who is rather enthusiastic about all types of silly things. “that is quite a justified worry, emmy!” he entertained her, but understood her a little too well. he was too excited to touch everything too, the probability of something jumping at him was quite high.
“I used to like them more when I was little, they were nice to play around with. now, I find them a bit silly. but they bring good memories,” he smiled, and looked at the object she was holding. “oh! those are fun. if you play them right, they start disappearing one by one. they usually appear in people’s pockets or in their shoes if they are unlucky. one time a classmate use one in class and it ended up stuck to the teacher’s shoe!” he chuckled at the memory, it was quite a day. even if they got punished for it, it was worth the reaction they got.
@- ❛ ʀ ❜:maël clair。⁰² It was a lovely day, one that was made even more lovely due to the fact that Emilia finally was able to spend time with an older friend, Mael. The two had spoken on many occasions through social media, complimenting one another when they did post and even sat and tried to study together. Studying that often ended in them merely talking due to their easily distracted minds. Today, however, was the first time that Emilia was able to spend time eith the other outside school grounds, causing her to be overly excited, even when they went into the joke shop.
"I've never been in this store before. I usually avoid it like the plague. I'm so worried something might go off if I accidentally touch it! I remember my first time in Weasley Wizarding Wheezes and something jumped out at me! Since then I've been a bit nervous about going into joke shops. Do you like them, Mael?" Emilia, despite saying she was terrified of shops such as these, picked up a deck of joke cards. They seemed eerily similar to one's that she had seen in muggle stores.
