@- ❛ ʀ ❜:valentine fluor。⁰³ his body language, the eyes wandering and shaking and those hands he rubbed in order to hide the sweatness somehow intrigued to winter, especially when she knew how much he was prepared for the opposite answer than the current that she did. with the path out of the library and standing next to the entrance while she tried to settle things in her small bag, digging with her long arm only to pull out the sky blue handkerchief to him, "you seems nervous, take this and take a deep breath," she smiled and recalled those days when she was younger and meeting one of the special person in her life. just how much familiarity can these two can be, yet the difference were uncanny.
"I'm kind of hungry yes, would you want to head out or maybe we can request the elves if they can get us some snacks on tea break time?" giving the suggestion to ease the taller one to make sure that if it's fine for him as well, looking how reflected he was as she used to be. was she used to be that nervous to make friend as well, somehow this latter made winter feel as she would want to make it even comfortable but knowing herself, she couldn't and she held back for a while.
maybe she could wait, just little while standing close together and secured her heart not to burst it out alone to get herself to do something weird that even her friends would think so.
@- ❛ s ❜:braeden laclaire。⁰⁴ With a brief nod of approval, she recaps her favourite pen before setting it down gently on the table. Her eyes quickly examined the contents she had written before allowing her trusty journal to close for the day. As she looked out the window nearest to her seat, she realized she had devoted yet another day in the library—not that she was complaining. The library was her second home, her favourite place to be whatever she was thinking or feeling that day. It was her home away from home. Freya stood up from her seat, curling her hand under a small stack of books she had devoured during her stay at the library. "Mayhaps I should return to the dormitory and check on what everyone is up to," she thought to herself as she walked towards the bookshelves. Her first stop was the novels authored by the non-magical folks. One by one she slipped the books back in their place while grazing the few titles she yet had a chance to indulge in. "I will find you later" she mumbled at the book before averting her focus back to the front, exiting the aisle and navigating towards the care of magical creatures section.
There were plenty of characteristics, habits, interests that the public does not know about Freya Moon. She was a reserved individual who found it hard to open up to others unless a bond of some sort was developed. Will she let just anyone see or know about her clumsy side? Absolutely not, but that definitely does not stop what fate had in store for her at that very moment. Carelessly turning the corner and disregarding the need to ensure no one was in the aisle first (maybe from her excitement of discovering more titles to read or maybe she simply was just that careless to not think of checking around the corner first no one knows really); she bumps into something or someone, causing her to fall backwards on her bottom. She made no audible sound upon landing from impact nor did she wince from the twinge of pain she felt on the palm of her hand. However, she did gasp softly from something utterly unexpected. Her eyes met the cause of her fall, a person she had not anticipated for when she entered that corner. Her gaze continued upwards until it stopped at the eyes of the other. It was at that very moment she experienced something peculiar and unexplainable. Her heartbeat accelerated to unbelievable speeds, her palms began to sweat as if she had been exerting herself, but the weirdest symptom of all: she was getting flustered? shy? "Freya you numpty, what is going on?!" she thought to herself.
@- ❛ s ❜:emerald de lisle。⁰⁴ "Hey, careful", Kaladin jested at the poke to his glasses, a disgruntled sound of protest slipping past his slightly kiss-reddened lips when Emerald rose from his lap to stretch. And yet when she settled down once more, it came all to naturally to him to scoot down in his chair, giving her more room to wrap her arms around his torso, one of his own cradling her closer. "I love you too", he whispered into her hair, tugging his discarded robes off the table to draped them over her back as a make-shift blanket. "Sweet dreams, my angel", he added then, after a brief moment of silence, the softest tunes shared between them slowly fading into the white noise of her even breathing.
@- ❛ ɢ ❜:kaladin ravenwood。⁰⁴ "Okay." She said all-too simply as her voice lowered into nothing but a quiet murmur. She raised her gaze to meet his own with a faint curve on her lips, one hand lifting to lightly poke the corner of his frames before she leaned forward to peck his lips. With yet another soft yawn, she stood up, cracking her neck once then turning to face him, seating herself on his lap once more, however now with legs on either side of him. Automatically, she tucked her face into the crook of his neck, arms curling around his middle as she closed her eyes, and a soft "I love you" was uttered before she allowed herself to rest just as she intended that afternoon.
@- ❛ s ❜:emerald de lisle。⁰⁴ "What makes me think? Exactly that, babe", he smiled at her, poking a finger against her cheek almost as if reprimanding her. Casting a glance to their surroundings he let out a quiet huff, lifting one shoulder as if to shrug. "Why not sleep in my lap? I don't mind, if you do, actually. Could be distracting just tiny bit but it would be more comfortable than my bag, trust me."
@- ❛ ɢ ❜:kaladin ravenwood。⁰⁴ “What makes you think I need a—” as if on time, her yawn had interrupted her words. She squeezed her eyes shut, a hand clamped over , only to smile sheepishly at him afterwards. “Okay, maybe I do need one. But here? In the library?” Her gaze flickered around their vicinity, and she wondered if it was even appropriate, even if she did catch a glimpse of a boy asleep on his backpack between towers of bookshelves.
@- ❛ s ❜:emerald de lisle。⁰⁴ "Nothing", he smiled up at her, eyes flickering behind his glasses, adjusting to their sudden proximity. "Just felt like kissing you. Because you're cheesy." With a content sigh he leaned up to press a kiss into the corner of , fingers brushing against the little curls of her bangs, fluttering across her jaw and settling against her neck. "Do you want to take a nap until I'm done with these notes, baby girl?"
@- ❛ ɢ ❜:kaladin ravenwood。⁰⁴ Her heart fluttered at the taste of his lips, and suddenly, as if they were there all along, there was a faint fluttering in her stomach. She hummed into the kiss with delight, her lips moving in tandem with his own. For a moment, she had forgotten where they were, only ever remembering that they were in the middle of a library when he pulled away. With faintly flushed cheeks, she rested her forehead against his own, wondering how she had become the girl who was willing to fixate on one person regardless of what they were doing, or where they were. “What was that for?” She asked quietly, dazed.
@- ❛ s ❜:emerald de lisle。⁰⁴ "Yes ok, that's fair", he muttered at her words, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth, pencil drumming against his notes in a quick, almost nervous beat. "That was quite cheesy", he laughed then after a short pause, dropping his pencil to capture her chin between his fingers, turning her head so he was able to press a deep, longing kiss to her lips. "But you're not wrong."
@- ❛ ɢ ❜:kaladin ravenwood。⁰⁴ “Isn’t that what I said?” She chuckled quietly, tightening her hold around his neck as she leaned forward, forehead leaning against his own. “Whatever you want to do, I’m game. You know that.” Pulling away momentarily, she fixed the stray locks that had fallen in front of her eyes, flinching when she nearly poked her eye out with her nail. “I met you,” she said after a long pause, turning to meet his eyes with a warm smile, which shifted into quiet laughter not long after, grimacing at her own words. “Ew, now I’m being cheesy.”
@- ❛ s ❜:emerald de lisle。⁰⁴ "Anything /we/ want", he corrected her with a pointed look, one eyebrow lifted as he picked up his glasses once more, pushing them onto his nose before starting the music on his phone again. "Is there?", he inquired in disbelieving amusement, fingers twirling his discarded pencil, ink and quill long forgotten while he had been scribbling all over his already existing notes.
@- ❛ ɢ ❜:kaladin ravenwood。⁰⁴ “We can do anything we want then,” she urged as she lifted her head, eyes meeting his with a knowing gaze. “Whatever you want.” She took the earbud in between her fingers, daintily twirling them in between her index and thumb once before slotting it in her ear. “Because this castle /is/ gloomy and dark. It’s a castle, for crying out loud. It’s outdated. But there is one good thing about being in this palace.”
@- ❛ s ❜:emerald de lisle。⁰⁴ "I can't wait for that", he replied softly, although there was little to no joy behind the words, the long exhale that followers speaking more than the words themselves. "Maybe because it's gloomy and dark inside this castle sometimes", he mused, reaching out for his earbuds on the table, offering one to her with a soft, questioning noise, his other arm holding her securely against his frame. "With all these long, hallways and statues."
@- ❛ ɢ ❜:kaladin ravenwood。⁰⁴ "Maybe. But we're nearly finished with exams. Then we can go home." She reassured with a clement smile upon her rosy lips. With a soft tug of his collar, she pulled away, just in time for her jaw to drop as a yawn made its way out of her frame. She smiled once more, sheepishly, and readjusted herself just enough for her to curl up and tuck her face into the crook of his neck. "But yeah. I agree. With how big this castle is, you'd think it wouldn't get so stuffy this quickly. And yet, it does."
@- ❛ s ❜:emerald de lisle。⁰⁴ Snorting softly to himself he shook his head a little, the ticklish feeling of her burying her face into his hair and shifting it across the back of his neck having him squirming in his seat. "I missed you too", he muttered quietly, eyes still closed while his fingers played out a little rhythm against her thigh and ribcage. "I'm so tired of being locked up in this library. It's getting so nice outside, we should take a walk or something as soon as we can. Take Leonidas to the lake, maybe? He's insufferable these days."
@- ❛ ɢ ❜:kaladin ravenwood。⁰⁴ She hummed, content in the warmth of his arms, and at once did she forget the exhaustion that had almost pushed her to fall into slumber when she had returned to her dorm. "I did," she responded, tucking her face into his mass of raven hair and taking in his scent. "I missed you today."
@- ❛ s ❜:emerald de lisle。⁰⁴ "Ah yes, I can remember that appointment, now that you mention it", he gave back with a laugh, adjusting her position on his lap to pull her against his torso, forehead resting against her as he closed his eyes, letting out a content sigh. "Pretty much, yeah. I wanted to check some stuff I couldn't remember correctly. Did feed Eclair?"
@- ❛ ɢ ❜:kaladin ravenwood。⁰⁴ "Well." Her teeth sunk into her lower lip as she twirled on her heels before carefully seating herself on his lap. With a mirthful simper, she wound her arms around his neck, face just inches from his own. She tilted her head with a quizzical gaze, blonde bangs that were in perfect spirals swaying with her movement. "I was summoned here for... what was it?" she paused, looking up towards the ceiling as if it was difficult to remember. "A 'quick motivation cuddle'?" She chuckled, tapping at his shoulder as she turned to look at the book in on the desk beside her. "You ready for the exam?"
@- ❛ s ❜:emerald de lisle。⁰⁴ As absorbed as he had been in his reading, Kaladin barely caught the sound of footsteps heading his way, the sound muffled by the endless rows of shelves and stacks of paper surrounding them. Yet the kiss to his cheek had him lifting his head, a bright smile gracing his features as he turned to lift an eyebrow at her, voice dripping with humor as he replied: "Fancy meeting you here, miss, I was /just/ thinking that this seat might be reserved. Come on." Lifting his arm off the table he gestured for her to take a seat, breathing out a soft chuckle.
@- ❛ ɢ ❜:kaladin ravenwood。⁰⁴ Emerald, with her jubilant smile and light footsteps, had chosen to sneak up behind his chair, not necessarily with the intent to surprise him (he already knew she was on her way) but only to smack a kiss upon his cheek before he could get a chance to look at her first. "Hi," she murmured as she spun around, her resting against the edge of the table with her hands on either side of her. She lifted a finger to point directly at his lap, head tilted to the side as her eyes glimmered with coquettish delight. "That seat taken?"
@- ❛ ɢ ❜:winter llewelyn。⁰³ ( H ) He felt his hands grow sweatier and sweatier as he waited for a response, for some reason expecting her to completely tell him off and explain that he had misunderstood why she asked. But, that moment never came and instead he was brought with relief. He should've known that he had nothing to be worried about, but this whole occurrence was more than unfamiliar to him and he felt as if he was thinking more with his center than his brain, which, by the way, was never good in his own beliefs. Thinking with anything other than your brain was the gateway to a disaster waiting to happen... but he couldn't find it himself to think of their current situation (and hopefully blooming friendship) as anything close to that.
"I-It does seem like today is rather warm. Are you hungry? Perhaps we could get something to eat," he suggested, both moving out of the aisle and out of her way so that they could both start their walk out of the library.
Even in the midst of him mentally reprimanding himself, there was a thought that tried to leave as quietly as it came, but Valentine was still able to pick up on it; his brother would be proud of him. He was making friends after having shut people out for so long. He would be so unbelievably proud of him.
@- ❛ ʀ ❜:valentine fluor。⁰³ she looked at him after saying what does she really interesting but the reaction said so, which made winter feel like if is it a wrong choice or probably like something unfamiliar for someone like her? she doesn't know but putting her lips into a thin lines once the books reached to his level despite the difference. she continued to take a timid glance every minute and chances she can to observe his reaction to make sure she doesn't actually say something that doesn't make sense, somewhat in front of him that made winter actually feel more shy? more of, she never knew this feeling before especially to someone that she actually see outside of the library except quidditch. she practically blind when come to the game, she can never see anything other than the sign board, the balls and the players.
by the response he made which got winter unknowingly let out a sad oh, she bravely faced the latter which she first noticed of the red ears followed by the glance looking down to his hands that look panicking. the sad smiles planted on her face which made her actually wear her bag properly and clenching onto the strap tightly before turning around, just as she was about to walk away from the column.
the question after she turned around made her chuckles shyly, from the sad smile changed to the shy smile which made winter turned her head to face to valentine.
"today seems like a good day, shall we head out of here?"
@- ❛ ɢ ❜:winter llewelyn。⁰³ "Medicine," he paused, once again to repeat to himself. She made magic seem like a new occurrence to him, as if his whole entire life he hadn't already been surrounded by it. Eyes watching in wonder for a brief few seconds, it wasn't long before his gaze moved to take in her appearance more. He wondered how he had never seen her around outside of the library. Maybe she was like him, and didn't bother much for Hogwarts activities aside from education. He knew one thing for sure, though; she surely had more friends than he did. Her already warm exterior had to have blessed the other students around them, that he almost felt an inkling of envy on their behalf.
Without a second thought, Valentine blurted out, "I'm never busy." Stupid. Was he ing stupid? Who says that? The tips of his already pink ears darkened to a deep shade of red, taking everything in himself not to mentally berate himself any more than he already was.
"I mean, no, I'm not busy today," He corrected himself, gently taking the book into his grasp and whispering a few words of gratitude. The leather of the book cooled his hot and almost clammy palms, and he quickly busied himself with manually placing the book inside his bag. "Are you perhaps busy, as well?" Was he really going to do this? A shaky sigh escaped his lips, almost in confirmation with himself that he was.
"I'd hate to take up any more of your time, but perhaps we could do something after this."
@- ❛ ʀ ❜:valentine fluor。⁰³ ( H ) she was hoping not to embarrass herself in front of the latter especially the way he look at her, it wasn't like how her close friend, mal, look at her or any guy have. she felt little different, especially towards him, the unsure feeling and the little tingling she has which make her tried to look at him directly.
third year, ah he mustn't be the same aged with her but for sure winter would fall for the younger side because of the month she was born which also explained by her name as well. even though winter look very lightweight with her bag that doesn't seems look too heavy no matter how many items inside her small sling bag and looking at him when he was packing, the hold and the way the movement just look little gentle than anyone would.
startled by the height difference which made winter look up at him, the little laughter gotten out of the blue by thr shyness hold between their hand which make her even more embarrassed before pulling back her hand to guide down few aisle down until she stop at her track just to turn left to the middle of the selves, looking up with a little spell and the book name until the book magically appeared and slowly make it way down to them. her gaze were looking up but her ears were paying attention, "ah it's alright, i was just reading some books for fun- like cooking books and like, medicine?"
she tiptoed to grab the book and gave it to valentine with a smiles, somehow wanted to say something more but nothing came out but only her cheeks grown redder and said, "a-are you busy today?"
@- ❛ ɢ ❜:winter llewelyn。⁰³ "Gryffindor," he repeated out loud, more so for himself to remember than anything else. Eyes watching as the color filled her cheeks before him, he couldn't help the same tinge filling the tips of his own ears. Was this embarrassment? But there was nothing to be embarrassed about, right? He was unsure. He hadn't even realized that her hand was still in his grip until she pulled back on her own. His began blinking rapidly as he tried to regain his composure.
"Ravenclaw. I'm also a third year." Valentine's hands moved to gather his items as well, not having much else out other than the papers he had far from completed and a few extra pencils. Thankfully today was one of his easier days, so it took way less time than it usually did to finish up these assignments. In no time, his black backpack was strapped back onto his shoulder and he found himself sharing a gentle smile (unknowingly) with his newfound friend. "Yes, I'd like that."
It wasn't until he was actually around the table that he was able to notice how much smaller the girl was compared to him. Sure, when her hand was within his grasp, one could see the obvious difference. He should've been used to his size compared to everybody else by now, considering his own best friend was rather (and had always been) smaller than him. Body following after her, Valentine in a breath and spoke again, an unfamiliar and jittery feeling filling his system, "Thank you for this, by the way. I hope I wasn't interrupting anything serious that you might've been working on."
@- ❛ ʀ ❜:valentine fluor。⁰³ the enthusiasm that this guy has somehow made winter let out a soft chuckle, reminded her of how she was when she first started to find all the enjoyment in this library especially finding the one that hidden deep inside that was not in the restricted section. by the shyness slowly grown on winter, she lift her hand up to cover her lips while staring at the latter, carefully by the feature so she can start remembering the name of this guy each time she dropped by the library and happened to sit with him again.
"quidditch? oh, i do play too and you gave me the same vibe-" she spoken softly before feeling her little cheeks growing red, she really wasn't into quidditch as far as she can remembered everyone in her house only instead of everyone else on the other houses. valentine, what's a unique name coming from this man that somewhat, carefully drawn winter in towards him when she gingerly reached her hand out to hold onto his in return.
"gryffindor, third year. how about you?" by the soft return after the handshake and slowly pulled her hand back to take all the books that she have taken out as well her little violet bag swing around on her shoulder at the same time when she got up. with her little tiers at the corner lift and the little hand that pushed the chair back in manner with a gaze that fixed on him.
"shall we go? to the book section you have been waiting for."
@- ❛ ɢ ❜:winter llewelyn。⁰³ What type of nerd was he, getting so worked up over a book not being on display when he had practically everything else at the grasp of his fingers. To be fair, though, it had been an awfully long time he had been waiting. His eyes scanned her words, chocolate eyes beginning to fill with excitement. The book was actually available? She was going to show him? This must have been his lucky day. His head nodding eagerly almost immediately after the request registered in his brain.
However, it came as much of a shock to him as everything else that had been transpiring this afternoon when she spoke, vocally, to him. "Maybe? I... also play quidditch," he breathed out as a nervous whisper, voice almost caught in his throat as he continued, "Valentine. I'm Valentine. It's nice to meet you, Winter." A slightly shaky hand rested between the two, silently asking for her to take into her own and shake. Taking it a step further, he decided it was his own turn to ask a question.
hey there ^^'
i'd really, really love to join but first i gotta know-
i can only play , is that okay? my brain just won't let me do straight things...? ;;
