additional notes (that i forgot to attach to the connection below because i'm a fool): it is NOT required for sanghyun's brother to hate sanghyun back. despite how sanghyun treats him, you can make his brother treat him with kindness in return and have no ill thoughts towards him. if you want him to hate sanghyun back though, then i am all for it as well! you have the freedom to do whatever you wish with his personality.

sanghyun is, unfortunately, the son in question and for the longest time, he had no idea he was adopted. it was only when his parents had a miracle baby that sanghyun found out the truth. ever since then, all the love and attention went to his younger brother instead, seeing as how he was biologically a yeon and sanghyun, himself, wasn't.

sanghyun's parents no longer cared for sanghyun's accomplishments and would only truly notice him when he'd commit mistakes or gain negative rumors.

this has caused sanghyun to not only become a total perfectionist when it comes to his craft, but also absolutely despise his brother. maybe if he becomes the better idol, then maybe his parents will accept him as a son again.
