After putting her career in the line just to show him how serious she was about asking for his forgiveness. Haneul knew she screwed what they had before for the sake of debuting, but after she achieved her goal, there was no denying about the emptiness she felt and that’s why she tried to salvage their relationships.

She wanted him to be back in her life, even though not as a lover, she needed him.

But if he is always being this difficult, Haneul could feel her patience start to run thin (not that she has a lot of it anyway) But before she could say anything, the next action he did caught her off guard as she found herself being sandwiched between him and the door. Her breath hitched while her heart was beating so hard that she was afraid he might hear it.

His request was absurd but at this point, Haneul couldn’t think of a better solution for the pinch they are facing right now. So she agreed to do what he suggested, all while praying that it would really be just for a couple of seconds. Moving as fast as she could and without thinking much, Haneul got on his bed then threw the blanket over her body to hide from whoever was going to enter Kion’s room. ‘Please let them be quick’

(soon he begins to whisper in desperation: for the love of god, i’m hoping this will only last for a few seconds but just hide under my covers? it’s the only way.)

Everything that Ren had been thinking about since he was a kid, being thrown around to different schools, he hated it, despised it. He enjoyed his time there with what he learned, but he hated the atmosphere, the poshness of it, the everyday mundane tasks, the same schedules over and over again. Lord why did he want to become a trainee, I guess he will answer that in the future. But he is looking at Haoming now, not as the kid he once knew when he was younger but as an adult, and maybe it was Ren who had to grow up a bit more in his own ways. He chuckled a bit to himself and cleared his throat about 3 times.

But becoming a trainee was supposed to be rewarding and he was supposed to find his friends and make sure that they were alright, he wanted to travel the world and not make things harder on himself, but it seems like ever since he got to Novis, things were getting harder for him and regret started to sink in and make him upset with himself

The first time was to make sure he wouldn't be sobbing like a complete fool in front of Haoming, he cannot and will not show weakness in front of him, or any more for that matter. This first throat clear was more of a clearing of his mind and nothing else at the time mattered then getting his mind centered. The second time was to ensure that he can stand up and not punch the wall in the trainee dorm, his anger can get the best of him sometimes. The third time was for.. well it was for Haoming, he wanted to move on and be his friend again, but his pride was getting in the way, and he did just admit that he was wrong with Haoming, so maybe he can move past it.

No, he couldn't he will have to play some more games with him to make sure that he is to be trusted. Always thinking about himself first was something for a problem of Ren as he was growing up, if anything needed to be done or if anyone needed help, he always wondered, "How is this going to benefit me." He muttered that out loud. . Something that he should not have done, always acting impulsively is something that is not his strong suit at all. He really wanted to close the seal on this problem, but he may have just made it worse.

"I didn't.. I was thinking to myself out loud, but yes growing up and socializing was not fun, it was fake and boring to me. I hated doing it, I only enjoyed the time I spent with you, and I enjoyed my time in Japan to be honest. Everything else felt like a damn chore. Ren do this, or Ren you need to do good in fencing for a strong university application, or Ren we want you to do figure skating to become successful one day. My parents only wanted me to be successful for themselves and not for me. That is why I left and I don't plan on going back until I do something for myself, that I want to do, that is why I joined Novis."

@✵ hayashi-lin ren〘ᴢᴇʀᴏ〙ᵗʳᵃⁱⁿᵉᵉ Somehow Kamrin only felt himself getting more and more confused. Had he not been the one in the wrong? He highly doubted this. It would only make sense that he was at fault. After all, they were kids. It wasn't as if Ren went out of his way to leave him behind, not to mention it seemed like he probably got a great education and plenty of opportunities out of it. Although he couldn't deny that the other was right about the methods of communication. Perhaps just that one small thing changing could have made things different? He wasn't really sure, though, so he still couldn't bring himself to put the blame fully on the other and instead put it all on himself. "But... you were... you didn't even do anything wrong and I just ignored you... I don't even have any of your letters anymore, Ren," he spoke these words after a while of silence. These words had a twinge of regret mixed into the way he said them, and that was something that really scared him at the same time. He couldn't just let himself come off so vulnerable. Then again, he was already nearly crying. And when they were kids, when had he not been a bit of a crybaby?

He did his best to listen, though, unsure of how he could even respond but in some ways... wanting to be a good friend to Ren, even if he had only just moments before said they didn't know each other. "For your social growth... as in? I know you said keeping friends was hard but... it makes it sound like you had a hard time making friends too- I don't understand how that could be the case for someone like you," he mumbled softly, a bit breathless with these words before a small sigh left his lips and his hands raised to hide his face. Saying words like that... it was truly embarrassing.

@✵ cheon haneul ᵖʳⁱᶻᵐ (having just returned from a quick shower, i’m slipping only into some sweatpants and in the midst of ruffling my hair dry with a towel until i’m hearing what seems to be a female voice by the door, and a more than familiar one which practically strips the color from my face in a sudden realisation of horror) there’s no way she actually- pfft, nah. but.. what if?.. (with the palpitations of my heart growing steadily the more i stand in place with my doubts, it doesn’t take too long before i’m essentially beelining towards the door just to open up where my eyes widen in absolute shock just from actually seeing you at the other end, and with little hesitations am i taking you by the hand to pull you inside of my room and quickly shut the door behind us) what were you thinking showing up here! you’ll kill the both of us!

How dare HE say he is sorry, what does he have to be sorry for, for growing up, for moving on, for being abandoned, all that Ren was saying he was projecting how he thought he made Kamrin feel, but to say sorry to Ren was unacceptable. "Why are you sorry? You did not do anything wrong, if anything I should be sorry, I was the one that left you high and dry, multiple times. Yeah letters are great, but I could have called you, or texted you, instead of reverting to such boomer ways of communicating." He tried to chuckle a bit at his last remark, but he couldn't, he could tell how hurt Kamrin was now. "I was more hurt at the fact that I couldn't come back to you soon enough. My parents wouldn't let me come back to the mainland until I was 16, and even then, I had to go back to the school that my dad went to. He wanted me to graduate and become something big inherit the company from my mom, or be a big politician."

Shaking his head and looking away from Kamrin, Ren was physically shaking. He did not like talking about his parents anymore because of that ultimatum they gave him, something that they should have never done, but they did, and here they are, standing in a trainee dorm reuniting after so much time. "It was hard to keep friends moving around constantly, changing schools every so often, my parents wanted me to have the best education. And it was great, but it was terrible for my social growth."

He couldn't be fully sure why it was there, and that only caused more and more worry to cross his mind, endless possibilities of what he could have possibly done wrong swirling around. Was it because he'd wanted to find Kamrin, and was met with such a hostile person compared to the sweet, carefree child he'd known? Good memories are harder to preserve when this happens, that's for sure. Or maybe, it wasn't regret at all. Maybe it was him being upset or frustrated? He didn't know, but each thought that crossed his mind seemed worse than the last. Perhaps it was because of these thoughts as well that his expression began to falter, hurt and sadness showing through. Or at least that was part of it. The mention of his friend's first childhood crush was enough for the tears welling in his eyes to nearly spill over. And to prevent them from doing so fully, he simply decided not to respond to this and lowered his head instead.

"We did, we... were best friends," he mumbled these words with a quiet voice, a shakiness in it. He couldn't even look at him anymore, because while he himself was hurting he was also aware of the hurt he put the other through. There were a few moments of silence before he spoke once again, knees nearly giving in as he said the words. "I'm really sorry, Ren."

@✵ liu haoming〘ᴋᴀᴍʀɪɴ〙ᵗʳᵃᶦⁿᵉᵉ As he watched Haoming struggle, his laughter turned into a solemn expression, one of regret, maybe he shouldn't have written all of those letters, trying to stay in contact with him. Maybe it wasn't worth his time, something his parents said this whole "excursion" would be, a waste of time. But he had to see things through in the end, being as stubborn as he was, he needed to make sure that he saw these things through, and this was his first mission. "So you can catch a water bottle, that is good news, I am happy your eyesight can see a bottle being thrown at you, and its not like you gave me an apple juice box when I was 3 like Li Hui did all those years ago, maybe I should call her up, while you collect your thoughts." He was back to laughing again, damn, why was he being so rude to his former best friend. He had to tap his chin a bit and twirl his hair again because he was hurt, but also if this was anyone else, he would have just left the room already.

"Agreed that we do not know each other anymore, but did we even know each other at all back then? Was anything that happened a reality? I don't know anymore, I just feel like coming here was a brand new start, but once when I saw your name, I just had to reach out and ask why you never answered me back and that you disappeared on me also, even though I was still trying all those years. It hurts you know, being abandoned like that." Yes, hurt. That is what he can call it at this point, he was hurt and he had to take it out on someone.

He could tell that the other wasn't happy with his response, and also knew the lie that had been spoken to him. Just because he threw away the letters and didn't reply, didn't mean he hadn't read any of them before doing so. In fact, reading them was exactly why he would end up throwing them away. The one time he'd mustered up the courage to try writing a letter in response, he ended up crying like a little baby even though his parents would yell at him for doing such a thing. And so, throwing them away had just been the easiest thing for him to do. Of course, looking back it was something he regretted. He did wish he could read some of them again, or at all, and understand his childhood friend even a little bit more. "Yea... Maybe," he finally said, another small sigh leaving his lips.

"No.. I'm not mad, I- what.." At this point his hands were shaking, but he caught the water and simply set it down, shaking his head. "I'm not gonna cry. Besides, who am I to care? Why- why should I care if you dated girls before, huh? We... We don't even really know each other anymore, do we?" There was a sharpness in his tone as he said these words and when they left his lips, he did regret them. Unfortunately, this wasn't a text conversation. He couldn't take back or delete any words and rephrase things. He couldn't add a little emoji to lighten the mood. Not that he would have in the first place.

@✵ liu haoming〘ᴋᴀᴍʀɪɴ〙ᵗʳᵃᶦⁿᵉᵉ Ignoring the fact about his monologue moment, was the annoyance of the blatant lie that Haoming was telling, he knew he received them because his parents gave him the address to send them to, at each school he went to he sent them out, the pain in his heart was immense like learning about a puppy that ran away or learning that he was going to a different school. It stung hard, "Oh.. I guess you never got them then. Weird, maybe my handwriting wasn't good enough. I did have terrible penmanship back in the day." He sighed and looked away from him, that hurt even more having to lie to him about his handwriting, it was damn near perfect.

"You aren't mad but it looks like you are, your body language does say otherwise, but maybe I am reading too far into things, a habit I picked up as I got older. I didn't mean to upset you, but it seems like your upset about me dating girls? Of course I dated, what did you think I was going to hold off and have a "besties for life moment" nah dude, I have needs and emotional wants." Laughing a bit he sat back down and grabbed a water bottle that was besides him and threw one at Kamrin. "He drink before you cry, it isn't good to cry it shows weakness."

Kamrin was slow to, but he turned to face the other once more, head lifted just enough for his eyes to meet Ren's. 'Stupid smirk, stupid hair, stupid ear...' he was thinking all these things but it didn't change the look of frustration on his face covered by that annoying reddish shade. "Who are you to talk about what is and isn't polite? I..."

It was as if he couldn't finish a single sentence, speaking only in fragments. This was something he figured he would attribute to the shock of seeing someone after so many years without contact. But the mention of the letters he'd received and simply trashed out of immature pettiness had him clearing his throat and averting eye contact once more. "I didn't receive any letters or post cards or anything... I don't know what you're talking about..." And he paused again, having to actually think about what he was asked. Why was he mad? He didn't know. He didn't have a reason. After all, they were kids when Ren left. In fact, he should have been thrilled to reunite with him. And maybe he was, but was stubborn so much so that he didn't want to admit it. He really was too petty.

"I'm not mad," he snapped finally, tone a little feistier than he'd intended. Thinking about it his intention was to speak softly when saying this, but as it left his lips it was quite the opposite. If anything, it only made him seem even more angry. "And- and why are you bringing up dating girls?? Is this cause of what I said two seconds ago? You really are something, Ren..." Of course, he thought to himself. Of course he was snapping and couldn't even let himself be open- honest about how he felt. And the more frustrated he grew, mostly at himself, the more visible the slight glossiness in his eyes became.

He smirked a bit playing with his hair and rubbing it against his ear, a habit that has formed over time whenever he is nervous or straight lost in his thoughts. This time, he wasn't sure what the reason was for doing it. "You know it is impolite to turn away when others are speaking to you, you should have proper manners Haoming. Has getting older made you more rude, that would make sense, but it is good to see you nonetheless.

"I wrote you quarterly, on very expensive parchment I might add, I expect to be reimbursed for these items." He laughed a bit and walked up to him. "Are you mad at me because I didn't know who you were or is it because I found you or is it because I left 12 years ago?" He was wondering for the real reason why Hao was mad, it definitely did concern him, they used to be thick as thieves, but if anyone can guess 12 years can do that to a dude, and an angry one at that. "Why are you so mad though, for real? Its not like I dumped you off like one of those "girls" I would date." He smirked at the last person making sure that he exaggerated the word girls.

While on one hand, Kamrin was glad that he wasn't just talking to some random trainee he hadn't met yet, he was also having a hard time processing everything. A slight warmth filled his chest, but his throat felt tight, and he didn't entirely process it but his expression was twisting into one that displayed very clearly his mix of emotions. Confusion, relief, but also a massive hint of something that made it very clear he was judging the other.

"What are you, an anime protagonist? I..." He paused, speechless for a moment. And after taking in a long breath, then letting it out, he finally collected himself. "You are such an , you know that?? Why are you talking about me like that? Something special to you? Why'd you say that like I used to be your girlfriend!" Although he could have brought up older memories and had a sentimental moment, thinking of and understanding just how the other's parents were, this part really seemed to have caught him more off guard than the rest of it. And his face being beet red from embarrassment only further showed that as he spun around, refusing to look at Ren at this point.

I am Zero, that is my stage name, well soon to be stage name hopefully, but my real name is Ren Hayashi-Lin, I just started here, and I have to stay these dorms are nice, they can use a splash of color though?" Looking around he did not like the monotone tone of the room, but he would get over that, he was more interested in making sure that this was Kamrin, or Haoming, as he knew him.

"I was looking for an old friend, he was something special to me when I was younger, but we lost touch after a while because I moved around a lot and whatnot, I came here in search of him and to fulfill my dreams for being on stage, and to get away from my parents." Laughing a bit at the last part he knew that Haoming would have understood how overbearing his parents had been as he was growing up, wanting him to follow in his footsteps and whatnot, but he also had good memories of Haoming of when they were younger, and pictures as well, something that he may have should brought with him. Sighing and sitting down on the open couch in the dorm room he looked up at the sky, "Nonetheless, I could be confusing you with someone else I guess, no matter, welcome in, I guess you are a trainee too, what is your name?"

Maybe he thought think this over, he wondered, but he knew he'd still probably go find the one who'd somehow managed to get his number and bother him even after so many years of not speaking to each other. Something such as that created a mix of emotions in him, and he really wasn't even entirely sure if the person he was actually talking to was Ren. Of course, he had hoped deep down that it was which in turn had him save the contact in the way he did, regardless of how snappy he still was with his responses.

"That had to be him... right..?" Kamrin mumbled this to himself, voice barely even audible in his own ears. Hearing something like "Who's there" definitely didn't have him feeling fully confident. Maybe he'd walk in and it would be some random person. Maybe he was being lied to when Ren told him he was in the dorm. Even just those doubts seemed to have his stomach tying in knots as he finally began moving his feet again, pushing the door he'd determined was hiding the location of the other open without warning and taking a few moments to simply stare at this person calculatingly- doing his best to process the appearance in comparison of that which he remembered from his childhood best friend. And still, he wasn't really sure. "What's your name?"

@✵ liu haoming〘ᴋᴀᴍʀɪɴ〙ᵗʳᵃᶦⁿᵉᵉ Just after nervously telling Kam where he was, his heart rate rose, he wondered why he would do such a thing, “..” he told himself. He had conflicting feelings about seeing Kam again, one of them being abandonment, but he never stopped and thought how bad he was hurting Kam. He was just a brick wall when it came to certain emotions, as he had left a lot of friends behind before, and he wasn’t sure how to retrieve these friendships over time.

Did he know that some of this was his fault, yes. Did he care in the end, not really so he didn’t really learn anything. He was just now for the first time trying to accept someone from his past back into his life. He heard the door open and he jumped but he didn’t recognize the voice, “Whose there?” He sighed feeling like it couldn’t be anyone that important to him, but probably a new trainee that he can befriend in the future, hopefully he wouldn’t leave them also.

It had been a long time since they'd spoken to each other, so perhaps Kamrin's half joking, rude form of humor wasn't exactly something the other was used to? He didn't know, and even if he didn't want to care he still did. Thoughts regarding this seemed to circulate through his mind even after he placed his phone back in his pocket and focused better on where he was going, brows furrowed slightly. "Hello, ah.. Ren..?" he mumbled as he pushed the door to the dorm open, glancing around with the slightest of frowns still formed from his lips.
