@โงห k. chaewon Sunwoo just left the lab to take a few papers about a patient’s health history and results and turned into the hallway when he saw the nurse he kind of snapped at the other day was coming from the other side. He knew they would eventually pass by each other because sunwoo was heading towards the nurse station to drop the papers and clipboard on his hand, and god knows if the nurse would go there too. He was feeling all better, quite the opposite from what he had felt that other day and at that moment when he saw the girl he realised perhaps he hadn’t even apologise for snapping at the girl--moreover in front of a patient and his own attending doctor--as far as he could recall.
Sunwoo picked up his pace to walk up towards the nurse--Kim Chaewon, he still remembered her name--with a smile on his face, “Good morning, Nurse Kim,” he greeted when they were met within earshot, nodding politely. “Just started your shift?”
@โงห k. sunwoo Pursing her lips, Chaewon listens to the man scold her some more before she sighs and nods. "Yes sir.." she grumbles under her breath, already feeling not so great about herself. "I apologize.."
With a defeated nod, the smaller spins on her heels and walks away. There's no use continuing the conversation now. Her shift is almost over and at this point, Chaewon would rather just go home and learn from her mistakes back in the comfort of her own home.
By the next morning, Chaewon's feeling a lot more refreshed. Sure, the incident from the last shift is still on her mind but she refuses to let it bring her down. Without another word, she slaps on her watch, badge, and shoes before heading back to the clinic. As soon as she walks in though, she sees the doctor from the other day on the other end of the hallway. Chaewon hesitates a bit. Should she go over and apologize again or should she just pretend nothing had happened?
@โงห k. chaewon sunwoo's eyes set on chaewon intently as she answered his question, and eventually letting out a loud sigh at her answer. the male doctor placed his hand on his forehead and pressed the tips of his fingers to rub it. he really has been going through a long day and this girl really added something he wasn't prepared for. "alright, thankfully there was no actual harm has been done. but you surely know what would happen like if you have the wrong gauge when you draw some blood test, right? so be very careful," he said, eyes still scanning through the nurse, noticing she has a rather cute and delicate appearance that sunwoo didn't even have the heart to continue stay angry at her. he pursed his lips slightly as if holding back to actually vent out all of his frustrations to someone that was oblivious to what he's been through that day before adding carefully, "this is my first year too, you know, i'm still learning at this too and i'm sure we would see each other so much more in the future. i hope we can help each other."
@โงห k. sunwoo Chaewon bristles at the request before remembering that although there was no real harm done, she most likely did make a mistake of some sort. She takes a couple of deep breaths in and nods, following the man outside as she rubs one of her arms, mostly for comfort. "I- Well.. Yes. I couldn't remember so I just.. gave you one of the most universal ones..." She mumbles under her breath as they both stand outside. Chaewon begins rocking on her heels a bit, chewing on her lower lip as she looks up at the other dude. Man, although he's good-looking, he's quite scary like this. Chaewon makes a mental note in her head to not piss him off next time around and to avoid if possible. "I apologize for my mistake.. Next time I'll make sure to get exactly what you're looking for."
@โงห y. shuhua as perceptive as he was, jongseong wasted absolutely no time in taking in the female’s countenance as soon as she entered his car. the way her long locks glistened perfectly beneath the moonlight to her pristine, porcelain skin and the perfect encapsulation of the curves of her hips. normally, the man wasn’t one to stare. as a matter of fact, he prided himself in being able to control himself. and yet, shuhua had him teetering against pushing past the edge of his normalcy; feasting his eyes more than necessary, and wondering just how much of his hunger she could allow to subside.
but he best not get ahead of himself, for with the way his companion presented herself for the night, a part of him could sense she was testing him. a bit too well. “couldn’t be helped you know? i spotted you from a distance and i guess you could say i got a little too caught up with how beautiful you look.” jongseong countered smoothly, his voice low and subtly inviting as a charming smile glided with ease across his lips. “i’ll have to take what wins i can get for the night. but do rest assured, i’m more than capable of making it up to you in other ways.”
allowing the words to hang in the air, a hint of mischief glimmered in his eyes that only deepened with an intoxicating extent of fervor as he sat back in his seat. time slowing in tidbits with the unspoken word of promises lingering amidst the distance that kept them apart still. “what do you say we start this adventure off right? you can trust it will be worth your while.” he confirmed, his fingertips titter tattering away at his steering wheel— setting careful chase to what only awaited them in the hands of shuhua’s approval.
@โงห k. chaewon sunwoo felt a little nudge on his back the moment the female nurse confronted him back. he knew it was his attending warning him to not make a fuss in front of a patient. taking a deep breath, sunwoo glanced at the nurse’s name tag before looking back at her again. “can we talk outside, miss kim chaewon?” he asked before he put the syringe in his hand back on the medication box then walked off past her towards the exit door then quickly turned to lean his side on the wall. he waited for the girl to arrive in front of him, taking another deep breath before talking again. it was rare for sunwoo to lose his marbles and he never wanted it to happen at his workplace. “it was the right medication for sure,” he answered her question, trying to sound calmer than before. “but did you notice that i requested a 27 gauge? i think you gave me a bigger one instead.”
@โงห k. sunwoo Chaewon steps back, feeling proud that she was able to help as she stands there and watches the doctor administer the medication. It was nice, she's working in a team and he's quite good-looking too. But suddenly, her head snaps up as she watches a small commotion break out, her eyes widening when she had realized that something isn't right. a deep breath, she steps up to ask him in hopes of learning but it seems like he's beat her to it, already towering over her while she stands there, dumbfounded.
"I- I am new but-" Chaewon stammers, looking back to the syringe and then back up over to the man. "I tripled checked that it's the right medication with someone else."
By now, Chaewon's confused. She knows that she didn't up and as she runs the scenario back through her head again. Then she frowns even harder when she realizes what might be happening. This doctor is just being a jerk!
"So what did I do wrong?" She huffs back, placing her hands on her hip as she straightens up, trying her best to appear taller despite still being a head or more shorter than the other.
@โงห k. chaewon as an intern, sunwoo has been warned repeatedly by all of his seniors to put off everything else aside and focus on whatever was going on in the hospital when he was on his shift. but for some reason, that day he felt like he couldn't focus at all and his mind has been wandering nowhere. he didn't exactly know what it is, but he has been feeling uneasy since about 12 hours ago when he started his shift. perhaps he was just homesick with living alone in haepung? he wasn't sure. and just like all of his seniors' wise words, of course, all of his lackings on that day resulting a quite non satisfying performance on his part. he had been responding his attendings with wrong answer about a patient; he had missed a little detail about some vital signs on another patient. all of those leading to his attending now pushing him to his limits to work alone—his attending was just gonna be on his side watching him and saying nothing—on this one patient that had a rather small open wound on his leg in the ER, yet sunwoo had to stitch it up all alone. nervously but trying not to show it, he ordered some anesthesia medication at the nurse that just came, specifically needing a 27 gauge on the syringe after he examined the wound and the type of patient he was handling carefully.
almost impatiently only because he was nervous, he took the syringe from the nurse's hand, and without any doubts, injected it into the patient. the moment when the patient winced in pain after the injection and sunwoo was quickly shoved aside from the patient by his attending, he knew he ed something up. he stepped backwards yet his eyes still fixed on his attending that was already paying all of his attention to the patient with questioning look, but got no answer. obviously he wouldn't get scolded in front a patient, he knew that, but he was still wondering what was wrong. sunwoo then looked at the syringe in his hand, scanning it carefully and noticed what was actually wrong. he lost it. without any further thoughts about the consequences of acting up in front of a patient, he turned around to the nurse, stepping forward to tower over her smaller figure and hissed in a low yet sharp voice—still conscious about the volume of his voice but he couldn't take it anymore. "are you freaking new? can you do your job properly??"
@โงห k. sunwoo Chaewon's been on this shift for about a good 10 hours now. She's exhausted, mildly overstimulated, but still rather feeling quite good about how everything went. She assumed the rest of the two hours would be the same vibe. Stretching her arms above her head, she hears a fellow nurse call her over to join in on a case with a couple of other doctors and Chaewon happily pops in. She had wanted to get into bigger cases anyway as a learning experience. So when one of the doctors turned to look at her and asked her to draw up a medication, she nodded and rushed out, making sure to repeat the instructions over and over again in her head. Chaewon stands over the medication, double-checking the name and the amount before drawing it up and switching the old needle to a brand new one. She vaguely remembers that the doctor had wanted a specific needle size but for some strange reason, she cannot recall which. Shrugging her shoulders, she picks up a general 22 gauge and heads back to the doctor, handing it over to him while she reads his name tag, Kim Sunwoo.
@โงห y. shuhua It was supposed to be another day of filming for the young Aeri, she was scheduled to show up at the studio for a short video for a sponsorship that was given to her by her new agency. But it was already half an hour pass the set time as everyone was waiting for this new and young model to show up, even the manager was a little worried that they might lost this sponsorship because of woman's mistake. She even called Aeri a few times just before the meeting to remind her that she need to be here on time since it was a chance for her to shine and gain recognition, but she was no where to be found and no one could reach her. Aeri on the other hand was trying to get herself to her personal physician because she was feeling unwell in her stomach, she called a taxi for herself as she head out the house.
As soon as the taxi arrived, Aeri hopped in the car and gave the direction to Shuhua's clinic where she was working. She walked into the clinic as she went straight towards shuhua's office, knocking the door of her room before coming in." Shuhua, I'm sorry to come here unannounced but I really need help right now." Placing her hand over her stomach had been in pain for the past hour or so, Aeri bites down her lower lips as she slowly walking towards shuhua. " Can you help me, I have this pain in my stomach I have no idea why. It has been bothering me for the past hour, i have a photoshoot today that I can't go because of this...."
@โงห p. jongseong the moments stretched thin as shuhua stood beneath the quiet, endless sprawl of stars, her gaze soft and distant. tonight had been stifling, thick with an almost unbearable weight she’d been eager to escape. she needed space, maybe even someone, though tonight it was a stranger rather than the colleague she would usually call. even so, in the solitude of it all, she’d discovered a little truth about herself: she enjoyed this—this quiet thrill, this taste of freedom just beyond her reach.
her thoughts drifted like the clouds until the crunch of gravel under tires pulled her back to reality. shuhua's eyes snapped open, and she bit her lower lip as a car crept into view. a classic model, the kind that held a certain allure. she had always admired these sleek machines, and she held a particular fondness for men (and women) who commanded them with quiet confidence.
when he called her to join him, his voice spilled into the night with a richness that matched her unspoken imaginings, a tone both familiar and unexpected. shuhua rose, brushing dust from her pants, tucking a stray lock behind her ear as she allowed herself to take in the sight of him with a faint, knowing smile.
as she eased into the seat, shuhua’s gaze settled on him, her smile subtle but charged, a quiet spark lighting her eyes. “you know,” she began, her voice low, almost a murmur, “a gentleman might’ve opened the door.” her eyes traced him thoughtfully, lingering, savoring each detail—the sharp line of his jaw, the confidence in his posture. “but i suppose… i can let it slide,” she continued, leaning just a fraction closer, her gaze warm and intent. “you more than make up for it.”
@โงห y. shuhua jongseong was disappointed. he miserably sighed for the umpteenth time that night, unable to truly wrap his head around how one of his main sources had failed to supply any donors for the fated taking. it was a waste of time with what system he had built from the ground up to ensure that operations went well, and time was always money.
less money made for a fairly agitated surgeon.
must he do everything and finish the job right by himself?
driving about the perimeters of the quiet parts of town, the steering wheel of his stygian e24 bmw maneuvering smoothly beneath his fingertips, he kept his icy hot gaze firm on the streets. studiously, almost. out on the prowl for unsuspecting beings much like.. whatever her name was.
what a beaut, the woman certainly was. he remembers seeing her a couple of times, their eyes meeting every so often but never any further, albeit threatening oh so daringly for more. he almost wondered if she would be the perfect fit— the exact answer to his prayers. or.. if she was simply made to be just yet another distraction of the time being.
whichever way worked, the chinese enchantress herself had better hope she was worth his while lest she make the horrible mistake of getting in his way. for now that time has rather ironically brought them together, jongseong would surely try his best to play the role of the most perfectly imperfect man in her eyes.
clad in smart all black slacks and a shirt with his sleeves rolled up, he wore a curt smile that replaced where a frown once laid to properly approach the woman in all her lonesome as he leaned in towards the car window, gesturing for her to come over before unlocking the door. “i didn’t keep you waiting for too long, did i? hop on in.”
@โงห p. jongseong the clanking of heels could be heard as shuhua walks out to the hall of the clinic. it was too late for her to make this much noise but fortunately for her, there were no people left in that vicinity. even if there was, it was not her fault her heels would make that sound. she liked it.
once she got out of the small building, she got her keys and locked the door, making sure that it was nice and shut before looking at her wrist, checking the time. the corner of her lips twitched upward, an obvious sign of excitement. it has been a while since shuhua had felt this alive. the last time was a few weeks ago when she was making content for another job. she took a seat at a small bench, leaning her back on the hard wood and lets out an exhausted but hopeful sigh. she didn’t really know who she was meeting. for all she knows, they might be a serial killer.
nonetheless, she would be lying if she said she didn’t like how their exchange went,m. she hates stupid people so the way the mister chooses his words, made her feel… excited, thrilled really. shuhua who has been a good two shoes and perfect daughter for her parents, was excited and thrilled that she while she was really looking forward to their meeting, she unconsciously bit her lip in anticipation. she loved their exchanges due to the male speaking with so much subtance. shuhua doesn’t like stupid people so she was relived there was someone out there who matched her– well, her freak.
she glanced around while waiting for a car, then looked up the late night sky. “hmm,” she muttered, “looks like i’ll be busy tonight.”
