Meandering around the nooks and crannies of the serene coral, Taehyung wanted to pass the time around his most memorable place. Taking in the scenery, he had hoped to encounter a mermaid or two perchance, but that didn't mean he needed to. He didn't even feel the urge to swim up to the shore and observe the passing humans. After all, he had the sea horses and fish that flitted around him as he propelled himself around the vast expanse of the flourishing habitat. His parents thought he was just a late bloomer, when he didn't display signs of being enraptured by the land. It wasn't his fault that he found nothing interesting about creatures who walked on two, instead of swimming around with fins.
Eyes still untrained in finding pearls, the young merman believed that he had missed at least three pearls already if not all of them. 'Course there was no possibility that he'd be lucky enough to wander upon all ten in one shot, so why worry about the pearls now? "That would just be plain silly." He answered himself out loud, much to his embarrassment. Taking note of his mishap, he made sure that he'll break that habit of talking to himself. It's just - weird. Who would want to converse with a merman that spoke to himself when he was alone? No one, that's who. Then again, there have been moments in time when he was a kid that could make him take that back. Tossing those unnecessary thoughts into the Abyss, he continued leisurely floating around waiting for some fun to walk into his life.
As the fish playfully circle him like the merkids when they had too much sweets, he decided to go along with them and play a sort of makeshift tag game. It was like him to create games out of nowhere and maybe that was one of the reasons why his younger brother always asked him to come to the park with his friends. Taehyung found that he was surprisingly happier when he had to entertain the kids, instead of incessantly worrying about which way his future was going to flow, whether it be to dark and turbulent currents or calm and shallow shorelines. What's a merman to do?
@♆ Bom /nods enthusiastically/
All of those things, plus more!
/taps my chin/
One time, I found this round thingy.
The was water in it and white stuff that floated around when you shook it.
/furrow my eyebrows a bit/
And there was a chubby, mini man all dressed in red with a bag of presents.
I believe humans call it a globesnow....
/tilts head slightly/
Or is it snowglobe.
@♆ Bom /pouts slightly/
I'm sure we'll fine something today!
/grins/
Alright, let's go!
/begins swimming away from the coral/
I wonder what we'll find...
They always drop weird things.
/smile excitedly/
But it's always cool to see.
@♆ Bom That's good.
/smiles and pats your back/
Did you find anything interesting?
/glances at you before looking around/
I thought maybe we could go on a little adventure.
Not to far from here, humans are always dropping things.
It's really cool to see.
/turns to you and tilts my head/
How does that sound?
@♆ Bom /looks over at you/
Oh, you're here.
/smiles softly and waves back/
No, I haven't been waiting long.
Did you make it here alright?
/swims along side you/
@♆ Zitao Bora was swimming everywhere random just to find some action...and here it was a merman in the middle of Coral Reef ...it was weird , she saw his face for the first time so she kept staring at him from far away until she got distracted by a colorful fish and when she turned at him again ,he was gone...
Colours swirled about him as the sunlight reflected off scales. Zitao stood and watched in awe and sighed, for once despite himself, smiling.
But it was a calm day, peaceful. He glanced around, knowing sometimes younger merfolk children took field trips down here from school to learn, were there any present? Or sometimes artists would come to sketch.
@♆ Taeyang Selena simply shrugged her shoulders before she answered,"I'll just have to find that one human who had this strange marking on the back of his hand." She listened to him in silence and started to think about his answer to her question. Would she ever be able to find her matching pearl? And why does he think it would be disgusting to have legs?
"Really?",she asked softly and shook her head, smiling lightly to herself."Besides the revenge for my family, I would like to see how the humans are living. I would like to know what it's like to have legs and the feeling of the sand under my feet. And I would like to know what this, how did they call it? Cotton Candy? I think that was it, tastes like." Besides being the stubborn kind of girl, she was also the adventurous and especially curious.
@♆ Selena Gomez Since he exactly knew what she meant, he followed her away from the boat, and once they'd brought some distance between them and the boat, he dared to look back. Nothing had changed, and it didn't look as deadly from up here. It looked peaceful, actually. He disliked the view a lot, so he turned back again, swimming beside Selena, enjoying the cool water that cleared his thoughts. He gave her a tiny smile. “But then again, there are so many humans out there. How do you plan finding the ones that murdered your family?” This question had lingered on his mind for very long now, but he'd never dared to ask, for she had been so obsessed with finding them that he doubted it really mattered to her how she'd accomplish that.
“Me?” He asked at her question, and finally smirked. “I don't plan on laying foot on their land, actually. It's disgusting and I don't want to ever meet one of them, much less find my matching pearl. I don't see any use in it.” He told her. He knew he was one of the very few merpeople who didn't want to see the human world at all, but that was just what he was like. Stubborn and unique.
@♆ Taeyang "We will find them." The same words that were etched into her mind since the tragic day. Selena didn't remembered why but when they first met, she had simply told him her story. Maybe it was because she needed the story to be told or simply needed someone to be there for her."I don't want to be near those human's killing tools",she said when he had searched the boat, rubbing her arms nervously."But I hope the day would come soon where I gain my legs and kill those bastards with my own hands. Making them suffer the pain, they caused."
Selena nodded her head at Taeyang before she swam away from the sunken boat."What are you going to do, if you have your legs?",she suddenly asked him as curiousity took over. This merman was still a mystery to her yet he wasn't a treat to her.
@♆ Selena Gomez Her words stung, but he kept his face indifferent. “We will find them,” he simply said, searching the boat. He wasn't interested in this useless human stuff, but he did want to see what they needed for their hunt. There were many nets and knifes and harpoons, all kinds of things to kill fish. He thought about her words, and debated on whether or not to tell her that those stories actually were true and that those humans were even crueler and more disgusting than the once hunting fish, but he decided not to. No matter what kind of relationship they had, it was based on their hate for humans and their seek for revenge, and even though he knew her story, he'd never told her his. He just wasn't the type of guy to run around and talk about him and the story of his life.
He kept on searching the deck, but there wasn't anything special, so he soon turned his back on the ship and looked at Selena. “Yeah, better stay away from those, they're awful,” he said, feeling his scars itch from memories. He definitely didn't want to think back at those days.
“We should get away from that ship. I don't like being so close to human stuff.” He said. He wasn't exactly afraid of them, but it made him feel uncomfortable and once more made him remember how awful human beings were.
@♆ Taeyang "You're right..",she mumbled while nodding her head, watching as the boat sunk to the ground."But now we have another sunken boat in our home. It's been the fifth boat that I attacked this week. I just wanna find those humans who killed my family and have my revenge." Selena followed the merman and swam nearer to the boat, carefully running her fingers over the fake bubbles and fishes."I once heared that they only intrude our home to catch some fish for their meals",she said and looked over her shoulder at him."And some humans .. well they're also hunting for us. Just to have some prove to show to others that we really exist."
Suddenly a thought crossed her mind and she shuddered, shaking her head."I hope I won't get caught in those nets one day..",she stated while swimming back beside the other.
@♆ Selena Gomez Taeyang watched the boat, and then looked at the men trying to reach the shore, and finally at Selena. He raised his eyebrow, but shrugged. He didn't feel sorry for them at all, he just hadn't thought this innocent looking girl could be that harsh. It had looked as if she hadn't thought at all. She'd just followed her instincts, and they had drowned her heart and mind in revenge. Not that Taeyang couldn't understand it. It was just... unusual, sort of. For a girl like her, that was. For somebody heartless as him, it was pretty normal. Or at least that was his opinion.
“Doesn't matter whether it had been them or not. They were intruding in our home, so you had every right to do that,” he said after some time of silence and started swimming towards the boat, which in the meanwhile had reached the sandy ground. Some fish were already curiously starting to swim around it, and now Taeyang joined them.
“Looks old,” he noted, though he didn't know whether Selena had reached him yet or not. “You know, I always wonder whether these humans don't have a world of their own to destroy.”
@♆ Taeyang When Selena thought she was done with her daily swims around the coral reef, a boat has caught her attention. The shade of the purple on the bottom side was exactly the same of the one that she witnessed when her family got killed. The strangling cries of her two younger brothers were in her ears again and she grabbed the sword-like thing that she had always hid in a hole under the colorful sea anemones before she dashed towards the bottom of the boat, destroying it. After the boat sank, she watched as the helpless humans swam in the direction of the beach.
"Any reason you did that?",she heared a familiar voice say and she turned her head. Flashing him a small grin, she sighed and hid back the sword."Hello too, Tae",Selena said and folded her arms over her chest."That boat .. it had the same color as the one when my family got killed. But I just realized it wasn't the same fishers on it because theirs .. it hadn't had those tiny fishes on it but rather larger ones."
@♆ Selena Gomez [ I hope it's okay, I'm so sorry you had to wait >~< ]
Taeyang took his regular swim in the ocean, fairly close to the surface as he was scaring the fishers on their tiny fisher boats, as one in particular caught his eye. It had a purple coloring, with tiny bubbles and fish decorating it's bottom side, for the other fish to get confused and approach the boat. It was a good move, that much he could tell, but that didn't make it any less disgusting. He hated how humans thought they could reign over the sea and pollute it, when they didn't know anything about it. They didn't know any of the magic it held- Merpeople, for instance. And yet they acted all majestetic, as if they owned the world. He knew, if he ever was to put foot on their land, he'd do just the same. Little did he know they did a good job on destroying their land already.
He was just about to scare them away, when another mermaid cut off his way. She didn't notice him, for she swam durectly towards the biat, seemingly only seeing the boat, but she was there, and she looked fierce. With a tool that looked like a sword, only much bigger, she was destorying the boat from the bottom, causing it to sink. She was watching her piece of art from the distance as he neared her.
"Any reason you did that?" He asked, out of curiosity. He wasn't judging her, he perfectly understood it- and was happy to finally having met somebody who seemed to hate people just as much.
@♆ Sooyoung Chorong let out a soft chuckle at how Sooyoung's stomach begged to differ from her words. "And you said you weren't hungry," the younger teased the older mermaid. Nodding, the princess stood up and dusted dirt off herself. Transforming her two, pale legs back to her light pinkish white tail, Chorong swam to the entrance of the cave. She glanced back at the injured one once, "I'll be back soon. Don't move or stress yourself out; it's bad for your wound." With a splash of her fin, the princess started to disappear as she swam farther and farther away – back to the kingdom.
A long hour passed before the princess came back, and this time, with a few helpers. Grinning widely, she directed the doctor to Sooyoung, carefully explaining what happened to the latter's turquoise tail. The doctor nodded and he started to treat the wounded one carefully, making sure she wasn't going to be paralyzed or scarred for life. Chorong, yet again, transformed her beautiful tail back into two, slender legs and sat down next to Sooyoung, watching the doctor's progress. Making sure the older mermaid's tail was treated carefully, Chorong nodded as she bid the doctor goodbye and handed him a few sand dollars as a tip and token of gratitude. Walking back to the injured one, Chorong kneeled down and smiled, "He said you're not in critical danger anymore, so don't worry, alright? Also, I brought some edible delicacies from the Palace's kitchen since I know you were starving." Grinning, Chorong stood up and walked back to the entrance of the cave, coming back with a few plates in her hand. Setting them down carefully on a piece of dining cloth, Chorong turned to Sooyoung and gestured at the food. "You're welcome to eat it all."
@♆ Chorong The words that came out of the latter’s lips felt like punishment to Sooyoung, reminding her that she was listening intently to everything that she had said. Her words wanted to let her know, in her own understated way, that there isn’t an enemy in Chorong yet Sooyoung chose to close her understanding on the matter. If only she wasn’t a royalty. Sooyoung’s glance was drawn towards the bottom of the ships disappearing slowly out of sight. A strike of pain roved through her turquoise tail and bit her bottom lip. “I told you, I don’t need your help.” Despite the kindness Chorong was showing to the stubborn mermaid, her kinds still wouldn’t register in her. It’s not like it was easy to get along with an enemy, for Sooyoung’s personality to say the least.
Sooyoung looked at the smiling face, a face that had never smiled for her before and somehow her glance softened yet her eyes were strong in a way that anger was still beneath them. Not that she had much of a choice, the other was too persistent for her liking. “I’m not hungry and most definitely don’t want to go to your kingdom.” upon saying these words, her stomach rumbled. Shades of crimson covered her cheeks and bit back the annoyance it brought. “Fine” she sighed in defeat. “If you really want to help then get me herbs for this.” Fidgeting with her fingers, Sooyoung looked at the princess’ legs, if she could she would have transformed into her legs too but apparently her tails felt paralysed in this moment.
@♆ Sooyoung Chorong turned around and smiled softly as she heard Sooyoung's questions. "Sooyoung, I never hated you, not at all. Even earlier today, I was just trying to show you how hurtful it could be to be treated like trash – the way you always used to treat everybody. I just wanted you to understand that you should stop acting so bratty. Besides, that cloth," Chorong gestured to the scarf tied around Sooyoung's wound. "There are so many others, way more beautiful than that, in the human world. They sell them everywhere and they're really cheap, besides," Chorong turned to look at the other's face, "I think your life is more precious and valuable than that cheap cloth." Her face turned back to the anchors and she sighed in relief as they were reeled back up to the ships and the huge shadows started to float away, to the opposite direction, heading back into the vast seas. Grinning, Chorong walked back and sat down in a butterfly position next to the injured one – yes, she had activated her legs, and yes, she could still breathe underwater. "They're gone now. Want to wait here while I go get some medicine for your wound?"
Chorong smiled warmly at her enemy, the person who despised her, and let out a soft chuckle as she saw Sooyoung's widened eyes and pale face. She knew the former was shocked and couldn't register the fact that Chorong was helping her, even though they were supposedly enemies. "Why are you looking at me like that? Is it so surprising to help someone who saved my life?" Chorong broke into a grin once again, proudly displaying her pearly white teeth and bright smile, with her cute smiling crescent-shaped eyes. "Hey, Sooyoung, are you hungry? Or do you need anything? Should I go get it for you? Or would you like to try and go back towards the Kingdom now to get your wound healed?"
@♆ Chorong “I didn’t save your life.” Sooyoung murmured looking down, in fact she, herself, didn’t want to admit that she saved the princess. On their way towards the cave, Sooyoung was struck by a sense of deja vu as she looked at the familiar shape, the darkness, the huge rock, and swimming towards it. It wasn’t just physical pain anymore, Sooyoung looked around the cave, screaming, begging and harsh words filled her ears as if those came from the caves. Her body forcedly collapsed on the ocean bed, “I...I'll need to go get some herbs so I can help fix your tail.” those words that brought her back to the present. Sooyoung shook her head and looked at the princess. Softly gazed at the cloth and then at the other mermaid but the soft gaze was coated with her usual look towards the princess, Sooyoung was about to reject the kind offer from the princess but these somehow couldn’t manage to come out of her.
“Don’t waste a precious item on me, don’t be ridiculous.” she whispered enough for her to hear. Sooyoung gazed at the backside of the princess as she made her way toward the entrance. Couldn’t quite understand, why was she being so nice all of a sudden. Nevertheless, Sooyoung didn’t take it in, she didn’t care whether the princess was nice or not; one thing for sure, she still have that hatred towards her. “What are you doing, why would you help me like this. Why did you give me your most treasured cloth.” Sooyoung whispered again, barely audible and hoped the princess didn’t actually hear it.
@♆ Sooyoung Chorong furrowed her eyebrows and glared at the older mermaid. "It's the least I can do for someone who saved my life!" Shaking her head, she let out soft sigh before she looked around the reef. "Come on...I know it's here somewhere," Chorong trailed off as her eyes wandered across the recreational place, searching for shelter. Her eyes landed on a small cave behind a few coral reef plants, and she broke into a grin. Snatching the older mermaid's wrist, she led Sooyoung into the cave. "Lay down on the floor or something. I...I'll need to go get some herbs so I can help fix your tail. But for now..." Chorong reached into her satchel and pulled out a piece of cloth, one of her favorite gifts she had gotten from her Father from the human world. It was a cloth that was put around the neck to keep a person warm, and it was often called a 'scarf'. Though she hated to have to give something that precious up, Chorong didn't have a choice as Sooyoung was at a moment between life and death.
Kneeling down next to the mermaid's turquoise tail, she carefully lifted the tail up so she could wrap the fabric around the wound. Turning to look at Sooyoung, Chorong let out a soft smile, "It's not much, but it's enough to stop the blood from flowing out." Tying her hair in ponytail, Chorong slowly got up and walked to the entrance of the cave, her eyes landing on the anchors that the human ships left. "They're not really supposed to be harmful. Father always told me they needed to throw those anchors into the water to keep the ship immobile. Nonetheless, I should get some medicine for your tail."
@♆ Chorong "I do!" she spat in a rather cold and stormy tone. Although the turquoise tailed one wondered, too, to why she saved the life of the princess. She flinched at the pain from her hip, it felt as if the pain travelled up her spine and there is nothing more she could wish right now than not having to be witnessed by the mermaid in a struggle like this.
Her eyes were drawn inevitably to the shadows that represent human ships, heavy wave undulating towards them, it seemed peaceful but not until another one was harshly thrown into their direction. Sooyoung's injured tail felt relieved the moment the heavy item was lifted off her and dark liquid gushed out of it. It burns more than ever. She felt a hand grasped on hers', she could have sworn she was dreaming but wondered why the other female was doing this. "WATCH OUT!" Sooyoung pulled her back; rather hard because another anchor was thrown in to the water and landed just an inch in front of her. Sooyoung's heart began to race, sure she hated the world, the mermaid word but it didn't mean she hated her life. She let go of the princess' hand and bit back the pain that threatened to paralyse the mermaid. And she found it hard to move them. "Just go, you don't need to help me!"
Seolhyun left. I really want to be in this rp but it's too dead and most of them haven't rped in months. I will probably join back if it's active. I'm sorry. I really am.
