@ⓔ sen m。 Unaware that she was now being watched, Kristen continued to make a fuss of the dog she'd found and instantly fallen in love with, ruffling his fur and mumbling garbled sentences about how precious and soft he was. "Squish, squish, squish." The girl cooed as she began to tickle the huskey's chin, loving how excitedly he reacted to every bit of affection she gave him.
It took quite some time for Kristen to take her attention off Sen's pet long enough to actually notice the man himself standing there, watching her every move with a incredibly smug grin. Oh god, could she possibly have embarrassed herself anymore? The girl could feel a blush creeping onto her cheeks but being as stubborn as she was, she tried to repress it, coughing slightly as she scratched the back of her neck, her nervousness becoming apparent. "Uh, how long have you been standing there?" Kristen's voice was quiet, her tone now shy and reserved, completely contrasting the way she'd sounded when talking to the dog.
"I like your dog-" Kristen stood up, her fingers fiddling with the sleeves of the sweater he'd given her to wear. Why did she always get herself stuck in situations like this, why did things never go smoothly for her. "This is your dog, right? You didn't like steal him from a homeless guy or something?" The girl had hoped that a joke would ease the awkwardness she was feeling and hopefully help her regain some of the cold image she'd worked so hard on enforcing.
While waiting for a response, Kristen found herself looking everywhere but at Sen, now taking her time to appreciate his good taste in interior design. Everything was perfectly coordinated, each room she'd been in had had a cosy yet masculine vibe, she liked that, it was nice to be somewhere that actually felt homely for once. Her apartment certainly wasn't as inviting, nor did it have an incredibly cute dog waiting there to greet her when she came in. In fact, she actually felt a small hint of jealously forming in the pit of her stomach. Everyone was doing so much better than her. "You- you have a lovely home."
@✓ⓒ kristen s。 Not long after leaving her inside, Sen got to the kitchen; hands gripping onto the counter not so tightly whilst he leant his head down. "I'm so stupid" dragging out somewhat of a deep sigh, a hand of his ran through his hair in frustration, finally comprehending his actions throughout the day. He wasn't the least bit satisfied. In fact, he never planned on scaring her or more over, hurting her. It's just the sight of her like this, it hurt him.
This wasn't the girl he used to know. Not after kate at the very least. He wanted to change it so desperately that he ed up bad enough for her to hate him. Although it made more sense to him than her hating herself. after all, he did feel a bit of a responsibility for her current state. He could've stopped it. could've prevented it from happening, from escalating. If only he wasn't so prideful. So adamant on not showing defeat by completely vanishing. Maybe if he hadn't taken that choice she would've remembered him by now. but this was no time to dwell on past mistakes. Not when she was right there, in his apartment on her own consent.
Sen put the kettle on, preparing warm tea for her whilst she slips out of her soaked clothes, knowing it would bring her joy to drink something hot at this type of weather. However, soon enough he started hearing faint barks from the hallway accompanied with the usual noise max emitted. and right then he realized the one thing which slipped his mind. He left max in here before he went out.
What if she doesn't like dogs? or worse fears them? He left everything he was doing and rushed towards the hallway, lest her finding max and having a bad reaction of sorts. But where the sounds grew higher; what he found amazed him to no extent. His footsteps gradually faded to a stop, gaze fixated on the one thing which forced his lips to pull into a joyous grin.
Kristen sat there, huggling the husky like it were her child. The curvature of her lips quirking upwards in a smile that brought back a million memories in a split second. God, he has not seen this exquisite sight in so long. He couldn't fathom how much he missed it. and all he wanted was to stand aside and watch her genuine happiness.
@ⓔ sen m。 Kristen saw no point in arguing with him at this stage, after all, now he was actually helping her, so perhaps her obedience would be a chance to get on his good side and stop a repeat of earlier's events occurring again. The girl nodded, mumbling a quiet thank you before she flashed what appeared to be an attempt at a smile, albeit a rather forced looking one and made her way inside.
She was in no rush to return to the living room, so Kristen took her time, making sure she was thoroughly dry before she put on his clothes, that were far too large for her. Had the girl not been so desperate to get warm she probably would have found the sight of herself quite comical. Though she couldn't deny, it was a hell of a relief when she put his sweater on and finally stopped shivering.
Kristen was about to leave the bathroom when she heard scratching at the door. It wasn't a pleasant noise, in fact there was something unsettling about it, perhaps it was the fact that scratching was often a noise used in scary movies and Kristen certainly wasn't one to around with the paranormal. Although it could be even worse, it could be a cat. The thought almost made her shudder but she brushed it aside, forcing herself to be confident as she opened the door.
Now, there wasn't many things in this world that Kristen found exciting, or that she even enjoyed for that matter. But when she opened the door and saw the most adorable husky on the other side, her heart felt as though it were swelling in her chest. "Oh my god." She whispered to herself, bending down to make a fuss of the dog, a genuine smile tugging at her lips for the first time that day. "You're so cute." Kristen's tone was softer now, almost as though she were talking to a baby and before she knew it she'd sat herself on the floor, hugging the dog, the sight of it's wagging tail bringing her the purest form of happiness.
