@❇︎ Xiao Kein The train groaned, metal grinding against metal as it surged forward. Kibum’s sensors parsed the chaos—erratic heartbeats, hurried footsteps, the acrid tang of burning fuel. Yet, their focus remained razor-sharp. Across the shifting bodies, a silhouette emerged—a shadow draped in familiarity. Xiao.
Their systems faltered for half a second, a cruel glitch of memory overlaying the present. Then, a flicker of movement—a cloaked figure slipping through the smoke, closing in. Kibum recalibrated. Threat detected.
Their cybernetics whirred in response, calculations unfolding in milliseconds. The automaton in their grasp pulsed wildly, reacting to something unseen. Power surge. Unstable energy signatures. A trap? The air ionized. A pulse grenade.
No time.
Kibum lunged forward, overriding the train’s interface with a mere touch, rerouting the power surge into the automaton’s crystalline core. Sparks erupted, casting fractured light against the walls. The grenade detonated mid-air—contained, redirected. Controlled.
As the smoke cleared, their optics locked onto Xiao’s wide eyes. The past roared between them, unresolved, unrelenting. The train thundered ahead, carrying them both toward an uncertain reckoning.

@〄 Kim Kibum ¥ The velvet Junction. A means of transportations. A use that the fae used time and time again. Meeting people, finding them and understanding the way others came from all over. It was not suspiring Xiao had been sat inside waiting for the train engine to start. The destination already departing to the outskirts surrounding kingdoms around.

Dressed in denim jeans and shirt. The fae had been wondering if she ever would meet up with the person who she had once called her own love. The pain still ached, but the power she sought were two completely different things. But all the same in one. She wished she could have the means to control. However, without power, she couldn’t get anything. It was for that very reasoning where she would fight tooth and nail to get what she needed to help and protect those she cares deeply about.

Finding a place to sit down. Xiao couldn’t help but let those lingering thoughts eat her up. The very train roaring and blasting itself towards an unknown destination. But that is where their path crossed. Xiao could not help but glance towards someone familiar. A figure of shadow. Was it her imagination, or was it him? She wasn’t sure, but the sacrifice she did. Would he forgive her? She couldn’t even answer but sighed heavily as she sat on the train until people started to move as it approached the first destination.

@♆ Choi Seunghyun "Seunghyun?" Wooseok repeated the name and uncertain as he stared at the man before him. His internal systems worked overtime, scanning for any trace of the name, the face, or any relevant memory file that might help him place this supposed acquaintance. Yet, the search came up empty, as he had feared. He exhaled softly, a faint flicker of disappointment crossing his features, though his expression remained otherwise composed.

"You knew me well?" he asked, his tone both hesitant and hopeful as he reached out to take Seunghyun's hand. There was an eagerness in the way he held on, as though clinging to the possibility of answers. His gaze locked onto Seunghyun's, searching for some flicker of truth or familiarity in his words. "You're able to tell me about my past?" he pressed, his voice carrying a rare note of vulnerability. Wooseok found himself wanting, needing to know more. If this vampire truly had answers, then perhaps he could uncover something about himself, something beyond the blank spaces and broken fragments that plagued his existence.

He nervously laughed, soon followed by a hollow chuckle. The doctor eyed him head to toe and the pained actions of the man made him winced, stepping back. "You seriously don't remember, do you?" He whispered, brows knitted in deep thought. The demon inside having a blast. "Oh, how I am right about you, doctor. Your connections kept me full."

"It's..."Seunghyun sighed, shoulders dropped and grinned softly. "Don't fret. I guess it's been quite awhile since the last time we've seen each other. Too many faces that we might forget. Anyways." He exclaimed, poising himself as the gentleman his 'old friend' would be familiar with. "I am Choi Seunghyun. A vampire." He reached out offering his hand. "I know of your family and we were more than acquaintance."

@❇︎ Xiao Kein [Sorry I got carried away with the opening, p.s. please don't mirror my length if that's not your style. Happy reading and thank you for your patience.]

Kibum’s augmented fingers skimmed the etched brass console, their sensors alive with the rhythmic thrum of the Mist turbines. Velvet Junction pulsed with frenetic energy, a cathedral of brass and steam where Fae, humans, and machines collided in uneasy harmony. Yet, Kibum's focus was singular—on the automaton cradled in their hands. Its crystalline core pulsed faintly, each glow in sync with the humming circuitry that wove through their own body. Creator and creation—both unfinished, both volatile.

A voice crackled through the station’s latticework. “Boarding for The Arcadian Arrow begins in ten minutes.” The whistle of the train pierced the air, curling with argent mist, a herald of inevitability. Kibum’s grip tightened around the automaton as a wave of static tension rippled through their systems. Xiao would be here. The thought ignited a dissonance they couldn’t suppress.

Why had she left? Had she ever cared? Kibum’s breath caught—a stubborn human reflex that hadn’t faded—and they forced their attention back to the automaton, willing its steady luminescence to anchor them. Their sensors, however, betrayed their focus, parsing every motion in the crowd. The first shimmer of the Arrow emerged through the mist, its rune-inscribed hull a glowing promise of escape. Then, a flash of movement. A figure. Kibum’s optics zoomed in unbidden. The details sharpened: Fae features, an insignia glinting like a blade in the station’s dim light.

The platform erupted. A concussive blast split the air, shards of glass and molten brass scattering like shrapnel. Smoke thickened, clogging visibility and sending panicked travelers sprawling. Kibum’s arms locked around the automaton as their cybernetic systems absorbed the shock, muscles of brass and sinew calibrating to keep balance. Within the chaos, their optics fixed on a cloaked figure moving with deliberate intent toward them.

Not today.

Kibum’s legs powered them forward, every motion fluid, mechanical, unyielding. The train loomed ahead, doors sliding open in synchrony with its melodic whistle. The automaton’s core pulsed harder in their grasp, as if it, too, felt the urgency. Kibum’s systems registered sound patterns, voices cutting through the chaos, one of them sharp, familiar. They didn’t turn. Vaulting aboard as the doors slid shut, Kibum cradled the automaton closer, its steady glow a fragile promise amidst the rising storm.

@♆ Choi Seunghyun "You know me?" Wooseok's voice carried a hint of surprise. He hadn't expected anyone to recognize him, much less address him with familiarity. For so long, he'd believed that anyone who might have known him was either lost or long gone from this world. The hum of his core quickened as he studied the man's features. There was something in the tone of his voice and the other's recognition of him that stirred an almost instinctive response within Wooseok. Hope? Curiosity? Expectation? He couldn’t quite name the sensation.

Taking a step closer, Wooseok’s frame tensed slightly with a mix of eagerness and restraint. He wanted to know more, to ask who this man was and how he seemed to know him, but he caught himself before he could get carried away. He straightened his posture, calming himself down. “I… apologize.” he said, trying to tone down the swell of emotions that had risen. “I wasn’t expecting to meet anyone who might… know who I was." His hands rested lightly at his sides, his metallic fingers still carrying faint traces of grease and oil from the machines he had delivered. Despite the crowd's movement, his presence remained steady, almost unyielding, as his gaze lingered on the imposing frame of the train before him.

Suddenly, a flicker of memory flashed through his mind. Marred recollections of his parents’ features, the desolation of leaving Marteria, and the overwhelming shift of arriving at Circuit City tugged at his thoughts. For a moment, his optics dimmed slightly, his head lowering as if shaking off the weight of the past. When he lifted his head, his optics brightened once more, focusing on the crowd. It was then his gaze locked onto a figure in the distance. There was something about the person that tugged. within him. I turn my eyes to the gentle tapping of the rain on the glass, soon accompanied by the rolling belt of lighting. The wind whimpers across the outside of the cart that didn't compare to the growling crack of thunder roaring overhead. 'Hi there, ladies, gents, and folks. We are now departing from Mystique Rainforest, and the next stop will be Undead Wastelands which we'll be approaching in 15 minutes. Please take your seats as we prepare for departure, and once again, thank you for riding the Central Coin Bullet train.' I let go a weary sigh attempting to exude patience, knowing that it would most likely be another 1hr and 45mins to Bahamut Summit, especially with weather like this. I just really wanted to get home and back to the castle, to Lord Ta_. I just really want to get home.
I tucked the cloak around my waist hugging my mid section from comfort. I should've known better than to hire an Airship pilot instead. I never really fancied trains, but had I known what was in store for me this evening; I never would've boarded in the first bloody place.

@† Kim Myungsoo Yooa blinked as she looked at him. His home land would still be gloomy and dark even when it was morning. She was a bit surprised by that fact, but at the same time not really. It made sense that courts would still be dark since the people who lived there couldn't go out in the sun. "Alright - that's good - but in the future, we get caught outside and turn to sunlight - we should make a plan to help you not get hurt," Yooa nodded, smiling as she felt him lay his head on her shoulder. She didn't want that situation to come up or happen. She would feel horrible if he got hurt because he was hanging out with her and pleasing her adventures to be outside or explore with him. She nodded again she was told not be weary or worried about bringing something. But, she thought that she should apologize to this Mr. Brendon for making Myungoso late - even if she wasn't the reason.

Yooa shook her head as she looked at him. "I come and go all the time even before she was my mom - plus this is still a pretty new dynamic between us. At first, she was just my dad's girlfriend and I saw her as a friend and someone I looked up to - so now her being someone who is responsible for me is a bit odd or not something we've worked out yet," Yooa reached up and scratched the side of her head. "But, honestly, I think our relationship is still something like very close friends," Yooa answered, not helping herself as she patted his head. She couldn't help but chuckle hearing that her being his friend was the best gift that she could bring his mother. "You? Getting into trouble - what trouble is that? Sneaking around into the unrestricted section at the library?" Yooa couldn't help but as she booped his nose. She knew that trouble was probably around his bloodlust - but she didn't want to bring that up. Plus, she liked teasing him - it was fun and easy.

She turned to look outside of the window as the train slowed to a stop. She quickly packed up the rest of her sweets and snacks, giving them to Rui to carry and hold for now. She heard the announcement that they had arrived in the courts which did make her stomach flip-flop and her heart raced for a moment before she in a breath then let it out. She turned to him, shaking her head. She followed behind him as they made their way out of the train and into the station that was used by travelers to the courts. "No, I am okay! I like new places," Yooa smiled at him as she reached out taking his hand again no hesitation in linking their fingers together once they had stepped off of the station.

The waters shinning as if millions of diamonds laid perfectly over it. Myungsoo on the other hand, scoot closer to Yooa, head resting on her shoulders. Despite being far from direct sunlight, the young vampire's body depleted of energy - a rare condition since his transformation. "Oh no." Myungsoo gasped, shaking his head. "Home is gloomy with dark clouds covering the sky. At this time, it'll be dark. Unless it is summer season where the sun shines brighter and earlier then it will difficult for me to go home at this time." He said tugged his bottom lip. "Please don't be weary. Mr. Brendon already awaits our arrival." Myungsoo added on and chuckled. "He'll be annoyed that I'm late but don't mind him." the train went past the mountains of Magnus Mines. He snapped a shock look at her and laughed imagining the royal guards huffing and puffing trying to catch the fairy. "Won't your mother worry you're gone for this long?" He clicked his tongue, gently poking Yooa's cheek. "It'll be ideal to bring something. But at the moment, being my friend probably is the best gift you can give my mother. She is frustrated that I always get in trouble."

As the train slowed to a stop, a sign flickered to life, illuminated by pale blue light. "Welcome to Lioncourt De Sovereign.” Someone announced. This was their first destination, a secluded station that served as a gateway for travelers to the vampire kingdom. But, of course, that was part of him so she couldn't just poke it, plus she figured her bleeding wouldn't be good for either of them so she kept her hands to herself. She stayed by Myungsoo's side as they made their way to the train station, holding his hand and not letting go. She had ridden the train a few times - not too many. It was usually just going back to the castle, to the fields, or around heleo that she mainly stayed in. This would be her first time really outside of places that she knew like the back of her hand. She stood next to him while they were in line to get tickets. She had some gold coins in her hand to help pay for her ticket, but Myungsoo had already gotten their tickets. She did slip a couple of gold coins in his jacket pocket knowing that he probably wouldn't take her money even if she had offered to pay him back.

Yooa had always wondered what the courts were like since her mom was previously from there and was a vampire. She never talked about it with her since it didn't seem that important for their relationship or that important in general for Yooa to know about. That was a part of Bambi that would never affect how she saw the other. She also hoped that the older wouldn't be upset about her visiting a place that did harbor not-so-great memories for the other. She couldn't help but chuckle glancing over to Myungsoo and seeing him being excited to get on the train and head home. She wondered if she wasn't there with him would he still be excited about going home?

"I know, this isn't my first time riding the train," Yooa quickly followed him on the train. Rui kept himself perched on Yooa's shoulder the whole time, simply scanning their surrounding as they walked. She followed behind him glancing around at the more finer carriages and seats that were around them. She usually was in the back of the train where the other slaves had to ride or wasn't really paying attention to where she sat. She sat down next to him, moving Rui from her shoulder to her lap as they sat down. "That's not that long really, the meadows is a bit longer than that. I turn my eyes to the gentle tapping of the rain on the glass, soon accompanied by the rolling belt of lighting. The wind whimpers across the outside of the cart that didn’t compare to the growling crack of thunder roaring overhead. ‘Hi there, ladies, gents, and folks. “We are now departing from Mystique Rainforest, and the next stop will be Undead Wastelands which we’ll be approaching in 15 minutes.”

I just really wanted to get home and back to the castle, to Yooa. I should’ve known better than to hire an Airship pilot instead. Trains never interested me, but if only I had known what awaited me tonigh ;I probably would’ve never got on in the first place.

I still remember joining RPR 6 years ago and seeing this. Can’t believe it’s still ongoing to this day. All of you did a great job in maintaining the RP’s lifespan \^^/ Happy 6 years, yall!

I’ve contemplated and decided: May I have Lee Taeyong as a cyborg, please?

In Effect as of 01/24/25

We appreciate your application to the Ivory of the Mist community.

Until further notice, we are currently not accepting any more Demons, Wolves, Humans/mage, Hybrids, Kitsune, Vampire, or Shapeshifters due to the imbalance of races. We are currently seeking Angels, Dragons, Ghouls, Merfolk, Fairies, and Cyborgs. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Once the population in the 13 Kingdoms is balanced, we encourage you to reapply for your desired race.

Kind regards, Prince Hendery
