you’re a remedy to me—a sickly sweet panacea; the balance between salvation and despondency. when torment and dolor inundate me, your hand—a ray of hope and vindication—grasps out for me. sinking irises kissed with fervid chocolate meet a fractured monochrome world before lingering across you.
to proceed, head on over to: where blotches of mauve meet a date of fireworks.

@❛ naeun son。 taemin had never felt so rewarded after watching an encounter as he felt right now, within this moment. maybe it was in her smile, how her eyes lit up as the younger male extended the bag of candy. he couldn't quite pick up the choice of words used by youngha, but considering he's only six, it couldn't be bad. the male can't help but attempt to shield his fond expression as his eyes meet with the familiar gaze that he'd - only recently - pin pointed to be a previous one-night stand. he wouldn't tell her that though, no, not now. whenever would be deemed the right time, then sure. when that would be though? he's unaware.
he hates how he feels around her - it must all be from the new knowledge of what they've done together. he hates how he warms up, internally and externally. he hates how the tips of his ears heat up (and thanks the universe that his hair is long enough to cover it), and the hairs on his neck rise, just as they've done with the caress of her breath. mostly, though, taemin hates the way his heart races so powerfully that it causes his hands to tremble, or his breath to get caught within his throat. those feelings aren't apparent unless her gaze is focused upon him, and that, it was. his grip tightens slightly around the sweating cup and cardboard box occupying his hands, jaw clenching momentarily.
"hey." he's greeting her, unable to hold back a light smile as the tip of his tongue glides between his tiers. because even though he hated how he felt, he enjoyed naeun's presence. "and yourself." his fist shifts towards his brother, whom raises his own smaller fist to bump it with a smile. "is anyone joining you? or do you have free seats for two?"
@❛ taemin lee。 her gaze stayed onto her phone, just waiting for the notification bar to blink a certain led color to indicate that her movie date had replied that they were well on their way -- but that wasn't happening anytime soon, much to her sorrow. her legs were beginning to give out, ultimately settling to bend her knees with her in a crouched position that had her chin propped on her kneecaps uncomfortably. she didn't pay any mind to the cramped stance she had, the offense she took to being stood up was more dwelling and unbearable than the pain that began to pool at her chest. she didn't even /feel/ for this date of her's, but that didn't stop the insult she had felt. it was odd that she was supposed to be this awe-inspiring con artist, but at the rejection of her date, she inevitably was disheveled.
her eyes stayed glued to her screen albeit hearing a few stumbled steps coming her way. she figured that it was a passerby, until her sight flickered to meet a young child, no older than ten, stop in front of her directly. her once depressed ridden expression shifted into that of a toothy smile at the appearance of the boy, immediately shoving her phone elsewhere. "hey there," she said, eyes scanning the contents he had in his hold before watching as he pushed the three musketeers her way, him reciprocating her smile. "oh, what's this?" she asked. "you look sad, hyung and i wanted to give you this!"
with a cocked eyebrow, she scanned the venue before her eyes caught taemin's, who well watched over their encounter. her heart pumped ferociously fast at the glimpse of him, a rosy hue dusting her cheeks even. her attention turned back to the younger brother, voicing out, "is that your brother with the dorky smile?" he nodded with a proud grin, in which had her laugh. "that's sweet, thank you --", "youngha and taemin!" she reached to take the younger's hand in hers, shaking it rightfully so while glancing at taemin briefly. "thank you, youngha and taemin. how about we get you back to your brother?"
on command, she straightened her legs with youngha's grip intact with her's, slyly shuffling their way over to taemin. she offered him a cheeky smile, already had forgotten about her previous date at the cognizance of taemin's presence. "hey you," she said with a tone that spoke of radiating happiness. "fancy meeting you here."
@❛ naeun son。 "two tickets to toy story four, please."
the request is muffled behind the hand shielding his mouth as a yawn slips through his mouth, two fingers held up before they begin to shuffle through the pocket of his wallet. "hyung, can we get candy? please?" the younger tugs on his sleeve, decelerating the process to exchange his money with the tickets being slid through the hole in the glass to him. "yeah yeah, we'll get candy. don't worry. c'mon, big guy." taemin's fingers slip beneath that of his younger brother's arms, raising him to hold upon his abdomen before extending his arm to collect the tickets with a "thank you."
after a short line at the ticketing center, and a few steps from the concession stand, taemin finds his free hand full of four packs of candies: a bag of three musketeer mini's, skittles, rainbow airheads and sour patch kids - to be exact. "a coke too, please. and the kids special? the popcorn box, but give him water please. he doesn't need anymore sugar." his gaze shifts towards youngha in a motion towards him, earning a nod from the associate. "will you need a bag....." "no no, i've got it. but thank you." after sliding the money towards the male on the other side, the taller male leans forward to set youngha down; gathering his smaller hands within his own to place the candy there. "here, hold this okay? make sure not to drop it."
"thank you." the male murmurs once more, tucking his wallet into his back pocket before collecting the kid's popcorn plate within his hand, following a complicated twist of arrangements to hold everything else within his grasp. "alright, kiddo. come on." he's leading the younger male towards the theatre, the right corner of his tiers curling upwards as he excitedly shuffles forwards. taemin leans upon the door, holding it open so that they could both enter, head down the alley and into the theatre. but he pauses immediately, extending his leg to halt his younger brother from moving forward.
"naeun?"
it's a low, breathy whisper to himself, tinted brows knitting together. why's she look so.... sad? his head to the side, tiers pursed, until there's another tug upon his sleeve. "hyung?" "oh, right, sorry buddy. um -- hey," taemin crouches downward, prodding his chin within her direction. "you see that girl over there?" "the sad one?" he huffs a quiet laugh, nodding once. "the sad one, i suppose. why don't you bring her over some candy? give her my three musketeers." the younger one is off before he'd finished, excitedly, and it earns a quiet chuckle from the parting of his own tiers. he's straightening up, leaning against the wall with a light smile as his gaze follows the scene.
@❛ jongin kim。 'hey teddy bear stuffin' serial killer, i'm here haha. i'm outside the cinema, i'll wait for you'. her eyes scanned over the content of her conversation with her movie "date", wondering if that would come off as if she was desperate. sure, he was a decent man that she met at her apartment complex's lounge, and admittedly so, she had a little inkling that maybe they'd turn out to be good friends with each other after the showing. her whites dug into the plush cushion of her lower tier in anticipation as this was her first actual date since her high school days, though she was excellent at concealing her facial expressions, the eye could tell she was eagerly biting back a smile.
