He didn't expect the observation that came from him and opened and closed his mouth dumbly as he found himself caught between instinctively wanting to contradict him to keep Vinny from worrying and the truth poised on the tip of his tongue. The fact was that he /had/ lost weight, partly because of his poor appetite and the stress but also due to the fact that he hadn't worked out in months. "Just a bit." He finally mustered, scrunching up his nose at the reality that he'd caused his mate any stress. "I ate on the plane."

Following Vinny unquestioningly to the couch, Chan waited for him to get settled and hesitated a moment. "Can I-?" He began, slipping closer and kneeling one knee on the couch cushion next to Vinny's thigh.

It was quite normal looking at first glance, just a tank top and loose fitting shorts, except for the fact that it was branded with the Fendi logo. He thankfully had his small rolling luggage with him if he wanted to change and it had all his bedtime toiletries, so he wouldn't have to leave Vinny at all for at least a few days. And he had no intention to, if his mate would have him. Admittedly, there was a small part of him that feared Vincent might get fed up with their time spent apart. Chan knew it was an inevitability that his activities would pull him away from the man he loved, but he hoped they could make it work. Hearing the click of the door, Chan was pulled out of his worrisome reverie and blinked up at Vinny like he'd fallen from heaven itself. Everything was a blur then as he was wrapped up in the man's arms and his calming scent, dropping his bags in favor of holding him in return. Tears of relief prickled in Chan's own eyes as he kissed and nuzzled against his lover, desperate to leave his scent all over him.

It had become nights of pain during ruts, and mornings of sadness not having that handsome face to wake up to.
