He watched her motions, his bright grin still present as she acted in her usual dramatic-for-comedic effect way. “Yeah, it was. He was so shocked and touched that he smacked the tattoo… while it was healing.” he answered, grimacing at the memory of the pain. He picked up another twirled pile of his angel hair pasta, shoving it into his mouth and chewing while Hyewon spoke. He raised a brow at her mention of the separation theory, chuckling as he swallowed. “Honestly… no clue. I thought the theory was actually 16 degrees of separation, must have misread it!” he admitted. Chan used his fork to pick up a piece of shrimp, drowning it in the tomato sauce before taking a bite off of half. “More cabinets? Well… sorry to shamelessly promote Pocha to you…” he spoke in a teasing way, as if Hyewon and her mother weren’t regular customers of Chan and his father. “No but really, we’d love to design some new ones. I might have to visit the spa to see the interiors and have the design match, though… retiring?” He paused, blinking for a moment. “My dad straight up told me he’d be retiring in 5 years so maybe you should ask your mom about stuff like that too?”

"Kinda jealous though not gonna lie, cause all the Fs I got back in high school weren't enough to prepare me for the pain on my tattoo." Pretending to wipe a fake tear off the corner of her eye, Hyewon adds a sniffle for dramatic effect. She chuckles a little and shakes her head, letting her hand fall to the side, "Was the birthday one a surprise then? It's such a nice and meaningful tattoo I'm glad you went for it!" After she was done with arranging the cutlery, she greeted the waitress and looked in awe at the dish before her. Despite being somewhat of a regular what with all the food delivery calls she had made here, the food before her still made her stomach grumble - granted she had been somewhat of a glutton since they were kids. "Well I guess! But hey six degrees of separation could mean that we bumped shoulders on the streets some time. I think that's what that whole theory is about right?" She wonders, pointing her fork at Chan before bringing it back to her plate and gathering some of the fettucine around the tongs. "You should visit!! Actually we might be putting in an order for some more cabinets, I'm thinking of ways to organize the hair products better. Also mom's been fine, she's been taking more days off so I can manage the spa. I think she's planning to retire in a few years."

He couldn’t help but shrug, flashing her a smile with his chin resting in the slot between his thumb and index finger, a pose he used himself to display playful confidence whenever someone decided to compliment him. “I think all my high school and university interviews upped my pain tolerance.” Chan tried not to laugh, a gentle noise spilling through his teeth when Hyewon mentioned his dad. “Oh god, honestly, I only got these tattoos recently because Dad finally allowed me!” he commented, breaking out into actual laughter. “He knew about the dinosaur tattoo, but he did lowkey cry when I showed him our birthday tattoo.” He eyed Hyewon as she started fixing the cutlery, something he wasn’t really shocked by. She tended to do that whenever they were eating, like a sweet little cleaning habit. He carefully took his cutlery from her, dipping his head slightly as a thank you. “I mean, I do but – they’re not so deep in my life that I need to miss them that much! Also, yes girl. I know you go to Seoul?! But Seoul is huge compared to Dandelion, so it’s not likely.” He mouthed a ‘thank you’ to the waitress, briefly his lips as his food appeared in front of them. “See, see!” He twirled a bit of pasta from his plate before settling it into his mouth, chewing. “How’s auntie?” he asked as he chewed, wondering how Hyewon’s mother had been doing. “And sorry for not going to the salon. Spa. Spalon? To the spalon these days. My dad keeps pestering me to visit and say hi!”

" Hyewon says, brows still raised in wonder when chan revealed the tattoos to her. Her gaze flickers between the t-rex skeleton to the one of his and his father's birthdays, allowing a warm smile to spread across her lips. Gesturing to the second tattoo, she looked at chan with an ever curious expression on her face, "Did you show uncle the tattoos? What did he say?" Seeing their father-son relationship was quite endearing to Hyewon, reminding her of her own strong bond with her mother. A soft hum resounds from her lips, noticing the cart of food hauling their way towards their table she begins to organize the cutlery on their table out of habit. Another gasp escapes from her, this time she puts on the act of being playfully offended. Handing Chan his cutlery, Hyewon crinkles her brows and twists one side of her lip with a humph. "I mean – when you miss some one don't you usually wonder what it would be like if they were by your side in certain situations? Hey! i go to Seoul sometimes too! Who knows we may have crossed paths there." she pauses to let the waitress place the dishes on their table, then quickly mumbles her next words, "On a second thought there's a bigger chance that I dont know them."

He took another sip of his water, blinking at her gasp and her wide-eyed expression at the mention of his tattoos. Was it really out of character for him to get those? He’d been wanting some since he was in his 3rd year at university. “I mean, it hurt at least a little, it /is/ a tattoo after all.” he replied, laughing and then, without her asking for it, he removed the sleeve of his left arm. He was wearing a t-shirt underneath, but with the sweater sleeve out of the way, he pushed the shirt fabric as well to reveal the large T-rex skeleton tattoo that was huge, running up from his elbow all the way to his shoulder. He gave her enough time to look at it, before putting his sweater sleeve back and he lowered his top’s neckline to show off the number tattoo that had his and his father’s birthdays. “Wishy-washy, I. I mean! I did miss them, the hell, Hyewon.” he replied, trying to satisfy her with decent answers. “Probably not, last time we saw eachother was in Seoul. They’re a city person.”

@✽ jungkook j. chaeyoung could feel her cheeks rise up in heat while awaiting his answer, and although it was only a few short moments, it's like time has stilled to build up the anticipation of what either strengthens her or tears her down. the corners of her lips have even lost its touch of a smile, almost accepting the fact that she may have to prepare herself for the worst, but she's thankfully proved wrong when he, shockingly, agrees with her idea of a date. her face easily gives her away, practically bashful at this point, as he waves down a waiter. all the while, her mind ponders with its own thoughts, most of which she ends up (eagerly) saying upon the waiter's exit — "you can't take it back," she playfully clarifies, a strategic way to maintain the light atmosphere despite her need for more-than-vague replies. "i'm already too excited. i know we've gone on a few dates, but it'll feel... like an actual one, if that makes sense." now that her nervousness has subsided, she consumes her piece of calamari with content, gesturing for him to feed himself.

"ah, you think so?" as she pulls her hair back, jungkook can't help but feel entranced. chaeyoung truly was a beautiful girl, and a part of him wonders if he was even deserving of a moment so intimate such as the one he found himself in. her claim seems to bring up more questions, like, 'do you really like me', or 'how much do you like me?' but he decides to keep those to himself for now. "we most definitely should consider it a date." jungkook curses himself internally, but a small part of him is happy. bringing his hand back, he catches sight of the waiter approaching with their appetizers and after promptly thanking him, he gestures for chaeyoung to go ahead.

"did the arm one hurt? what designs did you get?" she inquired with enthusiasm, a smile lighting up her visage as he continued to tell her of his happenings. a smile which turned into one of intrigue at the vagueness with which chan had approached the topic of forging new and old acquaintances. "you think? missing someone isn't a wishy-washy matter mr. lee chan, you either miss them or you dont. so i gather that you did miss them? any chance i know this special person?"
