@✽ haechan l. Donghun sighed. "Yeah, whatever." He sat and watched the scenery as they rode. Or, at least he did for a while, until he drifted off on accident. Chaewon had already fallen asleep a long while ago as car rides always made her sleepy.

@✽ donghun l. haechan's smiles growing wider at the agreement as he nodded. "aight captain. don't worry.. this time only. I promise with my life , hyungie. thank youuu...." said him in cute way of tones before he turned to the speaker and lists out their orders one by one till he's done. he drives his car towards the next window for the payment and proceed to get the foods at the next window. after thanking the staffs, haechan drove off his car towards his place.

@✽ haechan l. If it had just been him and he didn't have a child, Donghun would have instantly caved. After all, when his brother begged like that, he couldn't help but fall for the brat's charms. However, this was different. "No," he said, "I don't want her going near that stuff. Not at all, no except-" He was going to say 'no exceptions' until the scent of the fast food escaping the restaurant's chimney came rolling their way. It did smell good, he had to admit. He then saw the pictures on the drive thru menu. "Okay, fine," he said, finally caving, "But only because it looks so good in the pictures and I can smell it. That, plus I'm very hungry. This time only, though."

@✽ donghun l. haechan was a bit flustered at the stern voice of his brother about their fast foods intakes. "oh ? can't you make it an exception for only today hyung?" asked him as he looks at his brother pleadingly. "just for today? it's not that you're going to eat this every day though. please?"

@✽ haechan l. Donghun opened his mouth but promptly shut it. He wished the other had just stated before that fast food had been the plan. If that had been the case, Donghun would have just offered to cook dinner for them instead. He hadn't touched fast food since moving to Dandelion and Chaewon had never had any in her life. Almost everything they ate came from their farm, and everything they ate was homemade. "I havent eaten fast food in two years," he confessed, "And Chae-Chae has never had any...and is never going to eat any." Donghun said sternly.

"uh yeah. not really a big successful ones but I'm still trying and learning. but I've got quite a fans watching and streaming my music , that's where I've got the money too. so yeah. after savings up , I've bought this car but ofc with mom's helps. hehe. " hyuck shaking his head. "nah, I don't feel like cooking today and please — I'm getting expert nowadays okay. don't judge me by my outer appearance. unu .. let's just go drive thru. I think it's nearby somewhere." he drives away towards the nearest drive thru restaurant and stops at the order machine. "what do you want to eat hyung. they sold burgers and fries and some wraps too. "

@✽ haechan l. "I know you said something about music but i didn't know you actually were getting successful off it? So are you like, famous or something?" Donghun asked. He shook his head. "No, I haven't not since I first moved here. I've been kinda just making money off of the farmers market and just using that," he explained. He blinked. "So are you cooking dinner or what?" he asked, "I don't remember you ever being able to cook."

"oh my car? ah, I've got them by making music, hyung. the profits are quite a lot. plus I've got my own savings too. hey I think mom did send you money every month into your account too. even after you left the house. haven't you checked it ever since ?" asked him as he glances at his brother. "or maybe she transferred them into your second account... you should go and check. "

@✽ haechan l. Donghun followed him and locked the house. He went to his truck to get Chaewon's car seat and he put it in the backseat of his brother's car. "Everything is fine," he said, getting in and buckling his seatbelt after putting Chaewon in. "Let's go," he said, smiling. Donghun looked out the window as they drove. "So, you have a sports car," Donghun said, "Nice. How'd you get it?" He asked curiously.

@✽ donghun l. "ah alright. I'll just figure out something then. " said him as he nodding his head and makes his way out of the house towards his sports car. "hyung, just come with me, I'll send you back later." hyuck said as he's inviting him to ride the car with him since it's easier like that.

haechan turned the music on but in slow volume as he didn't want to makes chaewon annoyed with the sounds. "this volume is alright, right? the temperature too?" asked him with concerned.

@✽ haechan l. "Chaewon doesn't watch cartoons," explained Donghun, "We don't have a tv." He then rolled his eyes. "You really said 'really' seven times," said Donghun, "Geeze, you're not going to starve. But, fine, I can go as is. No big deal, it's just to your place." He went to go wake up Chaewon. He came downstairs with her in his arms. "Let's go."

@✽ donghun l. "normal or not normal, it's still buff hyung please. don't be so humble okay. gotta be confident please??"

haechan nodding his head and hums. "maybe I'll try to find something for her too and I hope she'll likes it. but — is there any cartoons she specifically likes?" asked him curious about his own niece before he nodded again.." finally,,, it's time to eat!!!" shouted him happily before he cover his mouth — totally forgot about his niece still sleeping. yeah haechan is food mania so it's understandable if he's like that. "ah you're right,, hot mess you mean — " with his wriggling eyebrows before he laughs. "sure sure be quick hyung, I'm really really really really really really really hungry right now. and I don't want to eat without you. — also I have a story to tell you but I'll tell you when we at my place ok?"

@✽ haechan l. "Buff? Me?" he asked, blushing, "Ah, this is just a normal farmer's body."

"Yeah, like most girls, Chae loves dolls," he said, "I can build birdhouses, so I figured dollhouses wouldn't be too much of a stretch. I've just got to finish it, sand it and paint it and make the dolls." He let out a tired huff. "That's enough work for today," he said, putting some of the cut wood in a sack to bring inside for use later, "Let's go eat." He went in the house and put the sack away and put away the apple juice he had made. "I'm probably a mess," said Donghun, "I should probably clean up, huh?"

@✽ donghun l. "pft. yah. do you even look how buff you're right now hyung? God. pls know that I can always help you with that. you gotta be confident man. I'll help you somehow okay. heh. " deep inside haechan can understand the loneliness in donghun's life. he couldn't lie about that. a man — even though he said they can handle it alone, there's still gonna be a little time , he needs those affections and love comes from a woman too. it's a life. he grinned proudly when his brother praised him how he did a good job right now. "I told you, I'm going to be good with this works you know. do you think I only hold microphone and headphones all the times ?" chuckles him as he followed his brother towards another shed. haechan looks around in amusement. "wow. so nice though. you did them all managed in good ways." haechan turned to look what's his brother trying to show him and a small gasped escape his mouth. "wow. that's so pretty! so she likes doll? woah hyung. you're so talented in this. I'm sorry I didn't know how to make this. heh. but you're really did a good job though. hmm. what else do you thinks she wants for her Christmas gift hyung ?"

@✽ haechan l. Donghun rolled his eyes and then chuckled. "Yeah right," he said, blushing, "As if any woman would be interested in me." He was impressed that Haechan could split the wood on his own. "Good job!" he said, "That's amazing, Hyuck!" He smiled at his younger sibling proud. Soon he kept splitting wood until they had enough. "We gotta take this split wood to the other shed, and bring some inside." Donghun led him to the other shed, where some more split wood already was. "This is my stockpile and also my workshop," he explained, as one side of the shed had a table and outdoor use lamps and tools and stuff. "Check this out," he said, going to the table, "This is what I'm giving Chae for Christmas." On the table was a wooden dollhouse that wasn't finished yet that Donghun made himself.

" well if you said so then, it's alright. no pressure hyungnim. as long as you are happy and chaewonnie is happy too. it's good to me." hyuck nodding his head as he followed his brother's steps outside and waits as he listened to those precautions and stuffs. "ah alright alright. I think I can understand this.. " mumbles him before he watched his brother splitting the wood with the axe in amusement. "heol. hyung. you're one tough man , if I'm a woman right now I might melt down on the floor , on my knees I meant. " with a slight smirks. "okay let me try .." hyuck gets another wood and place them on the prepared table, carefully lifting up the axe and splitting the wood into pieces. "oh my god, did you see that????" he proudly flexing his arms after that and laughs. "I'm a strong man too, hyung !!"

@✽ haechan l. Donghun shook his head. "No, thank you, but no," he said, "It's only been about 2 years since Chaewon's mom died. I'm not ready to move on. I'll be okay. I always am." He went back to the kitchen to finish making the juice. He turned the stove down and put the fire out and put the pot of apple juice to the side to cool. "I'll strain it later when it cools," he said, "Let's go chop that wood. The faster we do that, the sooner we can go to your house." He led his brother outside and went to the shed to get two axes. Donghun took him to the edge of the woods where there was two flat stumps that were a bit below waist height. "You kind of use these as a table," he explained, "And you take some of that," he pointed to the pile of wood he had stored in another open shed, and put it on your table stump. And then you split it with the axe to make it small enough to use for fire wood. Watch me do it a couple of times before you try it." Donghun went and got the wood from the shed that he had already gotten from trees earlier in the year and had to wait to dry out all year. He showed his brother how to split wood and kept telling him all kind of precautions to follow to be safe. When Donghun lifted the axe and sent it back down, striking and splitting the wood, it became even more obvious how strong the older sibling truly was. Donghun was extremely fit and tight and beefy despite looking slim in clothing. He got this body from all of the farm work, especially things like this. Farm work is what made him so tough.

"you're right. but what can we do , she said she owed him everything. plus , if she really signed up for divorcement, dad will cut off her allowances that she gave to me every month and she didn't want that. how big her sacrifices that I don't know how to repay her. " tells him with a soft sighs. he looks up at his brother with inaudible hums. "you're very thoughtful of me hyung. I owed you and mom a lots for everything you guys did for me. pls know that. I'm trying my best to become better than the old donghyuck. " haechan gives his brother a light pats on his shoulder. "it's will eventually comes at the right time. pls be patience hyung, I know you're stronger. I understand that struggles, I wish someone would come and love you like me and our mom did. maybe I can introduce you to some of my friends maybe? if you're interested."

@✽ haechan l. "Oh god," Donghun groaned, standing up, "We are both grown adult men, she can leave him now. We didn't need him as kids, and we certainly do not need him now. God, what kind of sick hold does that man have on her psyche? I hate him so much!" Of course, Donghun wasn't actually being loud like he wanted to b/c he didn't want to wake his daughter up. But he was making it very obvious that his whispers were very annoyed and angry ones. He sighed, going to his brother again. "And hey, don't worry about that other thing okay? You were just a stupid kid who couldn't keep his out of trouble. Yeah, I ended up suffering the worst of dad's abuse because one, he hated me the most, and two, I always took up for you and let him hurt me instead when he got so mad he wanted to hit you. But, still it's not like it's truly your fault. I just...can't let go of the hurt I went through. I just can't. i love you very much, and I love mom too. But...you can still love someone while being angry at them. And it's gonna be a long time before I can stop being angry. Because I'm hurt. I'm hurt, Haechan, and I don't have anyone who can fix that for me. I've always had to live life on my own and be the strong one and take care of myself. I don't have anyone who can baby me or love on my until my heart heals. I...I used to, but I don't anymore."

"well to be honest, I can support mom though with my royalty money's and my other music stuffs. but she didn't want it. once I beg her to divorce that man and she said she can't because she didn't want us to have no father figure pmsl. like he's deserve enough to be dad figure. it's makes me want to puke. ugh. " tells him with a small chortles. hyuck steals a glance at his brother's head from his view right now, as he hums. "I'm sorry hyung. I'm sorry for whatever I'm doing in the past which cause you troubles or what. but hey,, don't be sad. I'm happy that I'm here too, hyung. also, you can always tell me when you want to meet her. take your time and prepare your heart too okay? the past is past, even though it's might be hard to go through it. we still gotta move on with the flow. so I'm asking you nicely to - forgive us with what already happened. we both miss you too hyung. a lots. " his words become shaky and tears starts rolling down on his cheek. "aish. why do I have to cry in time like this." he quickly wipes them off and chuckles.

@✽ haechan l. Donghun sighed heavily and pinched the bridge of his nose. "I don't know what to do about him either. I wish mom could just leave him already. But I have a feeling she stays with him for financial reasons, and I'm not exactly in a financial position to support her." He leaned over to rest his head on his younger brother's shoulder. "I miss her too, you know? I try to tell myself that I'm angry with her, but in reality I just miss her. I still have alot of scars and trauma about everything that has happened and I'm not ready to forgive anyone in this family at all. But I do miss her and I miss you. I'm angry at both of you, but also I'm happy you are here, Hyuck."

@✽ donghun l. haechan can only laughs at his brother's remarks. "very well then, hyung. you know me too well. " his laughs slowly faded at donghun's words. "wait hyung ..I think - there's something you need to know. how do I explain this. ugh." ,hyuck bites his lips while pondering in thought before he takes a deep breath. "to be honest,, actually. mom did know you're here. it's just she didn't want to bother to pay a visit or meeting you in person because she's too embarrassed with what happened. trust me, mom had enough with dad already. she send me around here bc she know where you are but she didn't tell me we lives nearby. she said, she would love if we could see each others by fate. but yeah. her wishes comes true. we met again. probably because her prayers. she helped me a lots here , hyung. at the same time, she's still keeping you check in her radar.. I hope you can forgive her at least. we're not in her shoes and we didn't really know how much burden she have to bear after having us .." hyuck nodded his head. "you're right. he's really a prick. idk what to do with that man. "

@✽ haechan l. "Humph," snorted Donghun, rolling his eyes, "It's more so that I can tell who is a city slicker and who isn't. And you are still a city slicker, through and through." Donghun was from the city too, that was true, but he loved the country ever since he had gotten the chance to live there with his grandparents. Also, in the two years he's been here, he evolved to country life very quickly. Donghun could barely remember his former city self. "Mom must've not cared too much if she didn't even once consider checking for me here. Dandelion is literally where I had to live for two years as a teen because child services took me away from them. I lived with grandma and grandpa here in this town for two years til they died. Dandelion should have been the first place she would have suspected I'd run to," He crossed his arms. "And...that man who calls itself our father is a real prick, we already knew."

" tells him before his brother cut him off by saying that which is the truth anyways. hyuck can emits a soft laughter and pointed at his brother. "you're very good in judging me, hyungnim. heh. that's so sweet of you. hm." he steals a glance at his sleeping niece before he looks up at his brother when he starts talking. smiling throughout his words, hyuck gives a small nod. "yeah it is.. mom has been looking for you all over the place though. like I told you, she keeps crying when your name is mentioned,, she's regretting it a lot and dad - you know. I was hoping he could be a little soft for us but I guess it's hard since his heart was made by stone or something. heh. "

@✽ haechan l. "Not unless I can trust you to chop firewood outside on your own without supervision," Donghun replied. After peeling another slice of apple, he quickly spoke, "Which I know you can't do, so don't you dare try it on your own. Last thing I need is you getting injured." He peeled and sliced the apples and put the peals in the boiling water he had on the stove. "Just stay put, I'm coming," he said. After the peels boiled a bit, he reduced the heat to the lowest level to simmer and put a lid on. He sat next to his brother on the couch. "So..." he began, "Uh, I guess we have alot to talk about, huh?"

@✽ donghun l. after arriving at his brother's house, hyuck feels a bit touched by the surroundings. there's a huge differences on how they two live their life though. while his brother have this kind of old country style of house, hyuck got himself a very comfortable and luxury studio to live in. and it's makes hyuck feels guilty with what he gave right now. hyuck helped his brother loading all the stuffs into his house and when they finally done ,hyuck sighs in relief, feeling a bit tired.

"oh yeah sure thing, hyung. do you want me to help with anything though?" asked him as he stands up and makes his way into the kitchen, planning to help him somehow.

@✽ haechan l. When they got there, Donghun parked and shut off his truck and got his daughter out and went to unlock the door to the house. He took her to her crib so she could sleep and take a quick nap while he and Haechan did all the hard work. He came back out and opened his truck's tailgate. "Come on and help me move this stuff and don't be too loud, I put Chaewon down for a quick nap for a bit. She doesn't get to nap during the farmer's market, so I let her nap a bit when I unload stuff. Anyway, let's get going." He grabbed stuff and went along with his brother, telling him where stuff went on their property or in the house. It took a good while.

"We have some apples left," he said quietly in the house, "So I'm gonna peel them and cute them for Chaewon to have later and I'm going to boil the peels to make apple juice with. After that, we'll get on the firewood. I've still got enough here to use the stove for now. Sit and make yourself comfortable a bit." Donghun worked quietly in the kitchen. His house wouldn't be what one expected a former city boy to have. The way it was decorated, it looked like an old country grandma's house.
