@✽ seoham p. Yewon smiles at this. "it sure is cheaper then the last place I was at and all the terms seem rather reasonable. and I get the fun of helping to build this place back up. I've watched a ton of those home improvement shows and I've always wanted to try doing it myself." She nods. "and i can already tell you make one heck of a baker Soo, if you can cook as well as you bake I think that should be you new job here." she says in lighthearted tone and adds on a giggle at the end to hopefully signify. she's not trying to force soyoung to do anything but still complement her skills in that area.

"hey maybie once we are settled in we could hit up the arcade or something to have some fun together. humm do either of you have a favorite anime?"

@✽ yewon k. @✽ sooyoung p. The man had already gone through about three cookies with honey while Sooyoung was exploring her possible room. When she arrived back into the kitchen, he quickly faced her with a few crumbs around his mouth like a child caught eating something they weren’t supposed to. He brought up the sleeve of his shirt to wipe off the mess, nodding and giving Sooyoung a generous thumbs-up with his other hand. “That’s great! The room you saw was actually my mother’s childhood room, just without all of her stuff in it since she and my grandparents moved out of this place.” he informed her, only before leaving to run to his room, rummaging through his cabinet to pull out an envelope. Jogging back to the kitchen, he handed Sooyoung the large manila envelope, which contained two pages of a document.

“Here you go, Soo. This is the roommate agreement for this place!” he started explaining, deciding to pull the envelope away from her and pulling out the first page himself. He set the white sheet on the kitchen counter, gesturing to different printed lines of ink that he had ready ever since he decided to find roommates. “It has the rent details, exact address and other terms, like when you have to send me your rent money, as well as the utility breakdown so you know what you’re actually paying for!” As he was speaking, his long arm stretched to the cookie container, grabbing one before he took a bite out of it, chewing slowly and politely, not wanting to blurt out any cookie crumbs onto his roommates as he was speaking. “It’s pretty chill though, if you have any issues witht he contract… or me, just let me know! My room’s right there—” he said with some finality, his hand gesturing the the slightly larger door on the opposite side of where Sooyoung’s and Yewon’s rooms were: the master bedroom space.

@✽ sooyoung p. Yewon Smiles. "ooh yes that they are, your a good baker. so will you be staying with us? I do think you'd make a great roommate." She nods and goes to much on more cookies. "We should also plan fun things to do together. like Laser tag or hitting up the arcade or stuff like that." She's quite happy things seem to be working out and is even more excited at the thought of her new living arrangement having her own apartment was nice, but here she still gets her own space, but also has what seem like good friends nearby as well so it's even better, and she can make improvements to this place she never could of with her old one. "by the way what do you guys like to do for fun? do either of you have any hobbies?"

@✽ yewon k. @✽ seoham p. if there is one thing about sooyoung that she considers — even for herself — is both a pro /and/ a con, is that she's strangely meticulous.

as the door swings slightly open, sooyoung is met with a view of pristine and space that there was no room to critique. there is enough closet space too, given that what she mostly packed were clothes both for everyday and not for everyday wear, her jaw she soon collects from the floor. what seems to be a coffee table on the left not taking up space and fits perfectly with the ensemble of the room — looking like a small study area at the same time. the floor boards may creak at some parts but something she considered a blessing for an impossibility her brain still imposed. the sunlight is enough to warm the room and she concurs it is not too dark during the night as well; what she guesses are thick walls separating each room offering perfect privacy.

it is nowhere near the college dorms or apartment with cramped spaces and thin walls she used to live in; the city should have a hanok style apartment by next time, they missed out a lot. (she surely did miss out a lot.)

upon further examination of the room — doing minor simulations and checks like trying to rush outside with her elbows slowly stretched out or checking the space she herself will get by outstretching both her arms and feet — sooyoung then deems herself satisfied, hands fixing her hair and clothes and on her way back to the kitchen with a random tune under her breath. she makes herself known with couple of bows on both seoham and yewon it is an immediate reaction for her lips to curl up in a grin upon seeing them dig in her baked goods, the faint crimson additional view of gratitude. "i finished checking the room and it's more than nice, i like how spacious it is and comfortable to be in as well. and i hope the cookies are up to standards too."

@✽ sooyoung p. @✽ seoham p. Yewon was about to follow Sooyoung when, she hears Seoham ask her to grab a cookie and figures that might be better to let the other girl explore, she already has her room and her bathroom marked with the sticky notes and various boxes cluttering up the rooms, so no need to worry about that. she shrugs and heads into the kitchen with him. "oh yea sure, ooh do you got any milk? best thing to go with cookies ya know?" She comments as she goes to sit at the table. "And sure I will. though to fully upgrade this place will take a while and some digging as I'll have to run some new cables between the buildings, and figure it's better if they are hidden... unless maybe we wrap some light strings around them and they could double as cute outdoor lighting? what you think?" She asks as she reaches to try a cookie. "I do hope that Sooyoung decides to stay she seems rather nice."
✽ seoham p. 1 year ago
@✽ yewon k. @✽ sooyoung p. Seoham silently swayed, a gentle grin tugged from his lips as he quietly observed his roommate and his soon-to-be roommate exchange a few words. He backward-walked to the kitchen area which wasn’t that far from where they were standing, his shoes already in the corner shoe storage section of the main house. He nodded silently to Sooyoung, with him gesturing to her room that was at the end of the hallway. “No problem! The door’s unlocked, it’s all clean and stuff.” he commented, deciding to open the container of chocolate chip cookies. The male tore off a small chunk of the biggest cookie, popping it into his mouth and humming with satisfaction. “Man, I think we ran out of maple syrup,” he spoke to himself, nodding to Yewon before he walked over to the pantry, hunting through the condiments and liquids section, finding the honey jar after a minute. “Yewon, grab a cookie while she explores, if you want? And remind me when the Internet is upgraded, we should all decide on the new wi-fi password together.” He said ‘we’ with the implied inclusion of Sooyoung, whom he had chosen as his final roommate choice, even if she hadn’t returned from the room yet.
✽ sooyoung p. 1 year ago
@✽ yewon k. @✽ seoham p. to say that sooyoung is grateful with his show of affirmation is an understatement. how much faith seoham has to someone who could he consider as a stranger at such point she could feel happiness simmer on her chest in a comfortable heat and one that spreads equally on both cheeks in faint pink. the simper she had on her face is identical to his, hints of enthusiasm shown as corners of her lips pull her smile a tad higher — working a bit faster than her brain could process even after (not so) careful deliberation. "i have a feeling that i shouldn't have to worry, even if in rare instances, which is a good thing. to add that you're quite reliable at first glance gives a sense of comfort. it's nice."

even with both hands tucked behind her back, figure turned forward to his home, sooyoung takes seoham's words as slowly as she can — absorbing information and tidbits of his past to every pore on her skin. and soon enough, the world gives the lass snippets of his fond memories in blues and silver bleeding comfortably onto yellows and greens as she imagined tidbits of his past he provides: what she could make out as smell of pine and variety of flowers hanging heavy on the air, half of the moon joins the roundness of the sun as streaks of moonlight add glimmers on floorboards and pebbled path. she could spot silhouettes of what seems to be materials cluttered on the floor, skillful hands from blurred faces busying themselves with making something out of adoration and love. even if hushed, laughter and giggles made the world lighter and brighter; the upward curls of their lips genuine, heartfelt.

passing of time feels like an embrace: warm, overflowing with love, vibrance of different colours, comfort; it reminds her of home.

now turning her body to seoham's, it's an immediate reaction for sooyoung to alternate her stare from his hands and her now outstretched ones as to check and compare — but soon drops both arms to glue on either side with a small hum from . the smile on her face shows unawareness, her choice of words further implying her unfamiliarity with his line of work but trying nonetheless. “even if the choice of outlet is different from the route your parents and grandparents took, i think art is still art. …does that make sense? i'm no artist myself but i'd like to see some of your work sometimes, or make something diy-ish in the future with you!”

sooyoung follows the man's trail of sight and hand as he shows her the direction to the room, keeping a mental tab of such direction, and puts it in a pause now to seep every information given as well as the presence of yewon. the familiartiy seoham and yewon exchange excudes the kind of familiarity and friendliness that could be far from the title of being roommates, based on past observations — as if they've been friends and decided to be roommates. the erratic beating of her chest speaks in happiness with the thought of being roommates with cool people as them.

her brims lift up in a warm smile before falls open to utter the sentence in her head — pinpointing how the nickname of choice sounds endearing — only for words to jumble out a quick "oh, shoot!" and face faltering. intrusive thoughts wins at this situation, and sooyoung is more than surprised to hear the following words from a voice identical to hers, the shock evident with how heat spreads on her face and eyes blown to saucers. as much as she tries her best to do damage control on the spot, flounders for the right words to say — a soft, quite unsure “not that i mean anything bad about it!" tumbles first. the situation is nowhere near the scenarios she had made inside her head for rehearsal, but she tries — and wishes — following words are okay and don't step further personal boundaries. “i, first, have to apologize with my sudden outburst. i have no detailed background with you and your friends, but i hope your future friends won't do the same thing that they did to you. the story behind it may not be pleasant but i think thumb is a cute nickname.”

with her might to push herself out of her shy (and embarrassed) shell, the mention of chocolate chip immediately brings her hands together in a soft clasp, much enthusiasm shows with her quick nods. “yes, i did bring chocolate chip cookies! i'm guessing it's your favourite too?” sooyoung inquires to yewon, hands then pointing on the container tucked in seoham's arm. “feel free to have as many as you like, and i hope you two will enjoy it.” she adds, offering both her soon to be roommates quick bows before she turns to seoham, mapping back to her mental note with the way to the empty room. “along the hallway and the end door, if i'm right? please excuse me while i check the room. i don't think this isn't up to taste but hint of honey or maple syrup on chocolate chip cookies does wonders.” with successions of bows to yewon and seoham respectively, sooyoung then quickly but neatly places her shoes by the side of the entrance and slowly tiptoeing her way to the same direction seoham pointed out, careful not to open rooms until she's face to face with the one the male instructed her to beeline to.

@✽ sooyoung p. @✽ seoham p. Yewon smiles and does a polite bow. "It's nice to meet you Sooyoung, and thanks, you can also come up with a cute nickname for me if you want. I actually ended up with the nickname Thumb with my last set of friends. they said it was because I was as important as thumbs are to them..." she then continues in a softer more annoyed tone "only to have them leave the next semester for another college" She sighs then her tone returns to normal. "anyways I look forward to hanging out with you more. never had roommates before but I think we got a good setup going here." She nods and looks over at Seoham, "upgrading the internet connection, make sure we get solid connection where ever we are in this place." she then grins "ooh cookies. what kind did you bring? I hope they are chocolate chip."

@✽ yewon k. @✽ sooyoung p. The tall man nodded, a faint and almost lazy grin on his visage as Sooyoung mentioned the reminders thing, something he would definitely appreciate himself and do. “Oh I don’t mind. I’m pretty organized when it comes to things like that, don’t worry about it.” his low drawl drawing out a bit of his words near the end.

He was brought back to the mobiles his grandparents made, looking down and smiling fondly as memories of his grandparents during his youth flooded back. Though his grandparents had moved out of his mother’s childhood home and left Dandelion to travel even at their geriatric age, he appreciated every little memento they had left for his mother and him. “Well, back when I was a kid, they were very crafty, especially my grandma. They took things slow and bonded over making mobiles and for me? Sweaters and toys. They love that handmade stuff. Me? No idea… but I’m willing to try. I’m just as good with my hands as they are, with my background.” he replied calmly, playfully lifting his hands to show that he was creative. Though he wasn’t sure if he had ever told Sooyoung what his job was in the first place. She probably didn’t know that he was the multi-awarded webtoon author and illustrator Seungjin.

“Oh, yeah sure. Go ahead, just turn here, it’s at the end of the hall. We can have some milk later— oh hey Yewon.” his sentence was interrupted by his other roommate and he nodded, his hands relaxed in his pockets. “Sure, no problem. Just keep it clean in there and… what project are you doing first? You mentioned doing a bunch, let me know if the delivery arrives? I can pick it up for you outside if you’re not here when it comes.” He actually grinned a wide happy grin when Sooyoung introduced herself, amused by her deep bow and general formality, as if they weren’t going to live together for months to years at that point. “Yeah, Yewon. This is Sooyoung, our new roommate. She brought cookies too, you can get some after you pack or you can chill with us while we eat it later.”
✽ sooyoung p. 1 year ago
@✽ yewon k. @✽ seoham p. throughout her life, there are certain rhythms of her heart that sooyoung knows quite fully: one that is based off of happiness, akin to tastebuds celebrating the taste of her favourite ice cream under a warm summer day; another from a product of excitement, similarly when fireworks paint pinks and yellows onto ebony skies upon successful events; also from an unwanted pattern, one she can decipher after watching unexpected jumpscares from videos or a small noise she makes out in between hushed serenities of her pitch black room.

this pattern of beating her chest makes, however, is a mixture yet unsure if it has an actual definition. never an absense of one but also its presence overpowering the other. somewhat distant; familiar. unexplainable but heavy on the tip of her tongue — whatever that is, it is obviously /pleasant/.

it isn't hard to be taken aback with seoham's statement. she knows it was rather casual, its implication liquid flowing so effortlessly pouring into empty crevices in her heart; dripped in sachharine that it has both her brain working miles per second and a pause with the other. it, to add to her internal battles, wasn't on her notes — also something she didn't anticipate in the slightest — and it knocks the words out in a form of silent blubber stuck on though sooyoung was clear to reply with a curt nod (to hide the fact that she's still trying to rack up a response on the back of her head), soft smile sitting on her face a heartbeat after. "of course! it's good to have someone remind you of the small to bigger things. keeps you on your toes. don't mind me counting on you when it comes to reminders, then."

the relief that bubbles from the information received immediatelly simmers warmth and comfort to her bones. it was no denying that hanged mobiles took its time on growing alongside of his home, years younger but a companion nonetheless, and she understood the sentiments behind its presence, growingly beautiful with each subtle whispers and loud echoes of the wind. "they're beautiful," sooyoung begins — a little louder than she thought it'll be — sparing a quick glance to seoham before looking up ahead once again both in affection and curiosity. "i wonder how they made it, though, must be hard. do you happen to know how to make one?"

sooyoung tried to hold her surprise in, but some bleeds in the way hangs ajar for a second or two but then masks it up in with a fond grin, pleased with the way she thinks seoham finds familiarity with her presence and/or proximity with the use of her nickname. or it's just part of his lax personality — either way, it is deeply appreciated. a small thorn from her not-so-laxed figure pricked and giving her more room to breathe and move in a small sigh (but out of relief). it is obvious now with how her eyes squint briefly, peeking onto the kitchen area, before her eyes train to the laundry area where he mentioned, a mental note on exploring the area later on. "i was wondering if i can check the room first before the kitchen? and then we can discuss the agreement afterwards. milk works wonders with chocolate chip cookies; i'd love to have a glass. thank you so much!"

about to bend down to undo the laces of her footwear, sooyoung shoots herself upward before her fingers reach her shoes and instinctly fixing her bangs; her heart sommersaults up to when another presence makes itself known. putting a clarity on her fogged mind as well as connecting the dots together, sooyoung then comes to a conclusion that the woman in front of them is the other roommate, her familiarity and how she holds a casual air around seoham further proving her point. sooyoung offers a deep bow, her grip tad tight on either sides of her dress and shaking any remnants of shock with each passing syllable. "hello there! my name is park sooyoung, you can call me sooyoung, or soo, or any nickname that comes into mind. it is a pleasure to meet you and live with you under one roof. i hope we can be good roommates and good friends!"

@✽ sooyoung p. @✽ seoham p. Yewon walks out of the building with the extra bedrooms in it, and gives a bit of a stretch. still wearing her romper and gym shoes. not wanting to make the same mistake she made last time she spotted him with another lady she just waves will let him do the introductions. "Hi Seoham, I got all the stuff moved now it's just the slow process of unpacking everything, I did order a few things to get the first project I mentioned started. so once they show up i can start working on it."
✽ seoham p. 1 year ago
@✽ sooyoung p. Seoham casually pulled off his glasses as she greeted him, nodding as he rubbed off some eye boogers from the corner of his eyes. It was just there from him working non-stop and barely really sleeping the past few days. He did enjoy Sooyoung’s bright enthusiasm in introducing herself, it felt almost scripted but not in the bad way. It was like she was planning for all of this, or at best plan what she could predict. Putting his glasses back on, he answered softly, almost lazily. “Oh. Well, that’s fine! We both know now to remind each other of stuff like that, right?” his reply implied that they would definitely be roommates and would need to remind each other of little things. Like Seoham telling her his house was a hanok-style home.

He stared at her curiously, immediately noticing the little thing she did with her feet after standing up straight, like she was dipping her toes in a pool but on solid ground or something. He was also taken aback just a tad by her statement, that one felt more scripted than the last but he wouldn’t really comment on it. It seemed she was very much the type to be prepared, and he appreciated that. A nice contrast to his relaxed, chill, go with the flow personality. “It’s cool.”

The taller walked a few feet behind the female, watching her back and slightly leaning forward if he wanted to see her visual reaction on her face. He ended up smiling, seeing her jaw drop into a small ‘o’ before leaning back. It was rather entertaining watching her, like a giraffe being born and exploring the world for the first time. ‘Oh, I’d definitely draw that later,’ he uttered in his mind. Of course, his mind was still slightly on work mode, he couldn’t help it. His low laugh bellowed across the garden, his body leaning back with his hands in his pockets as he watched her pat a bush like it was a dog. “Yeah, we do. My grandparents and my mother made those mobiles years ago, actually.” he replied soothingly, nodding.

His hands really were tucked into his pockets as he laughed, continuing to watch her before suddenly feeling the semi-full pack of gum sticks in his left pocket. He had forgotten to take those out, as he liked to chew gum until it lost its flavor while he was working sometimes. Seoham gently pulled out the pack of gum, right around the same time Sooyoung handed him his chocolate chip cookies. He flashed her a warm smile, tucking the box of cookies under his right arm after he inspected it briefly. “Thanks, Soo.” he started, accidentally shortening her name to a nickname. It wasn’t on purpose, but he tended to do that, even with new people. “After exploring the house, we can bum in the kitchen, have some milk with the cookies. Or other drinks, and discuss rates and rental details? I have the rental agreement printed out in duplicate, anyways.”

There was the rest of the house for her to explore. It was just the two bedrooms down the hallway on the right-hand building, the kitchen of course, some cabinets, a few closets, and two spare rooms, one for each of his roommates. He of course converted his own spare room to a second drawing room as well as supply storage for his art materials. Sometimes the slanted art desk in his bedroom wasn’t enough, he’d work in his drawing room for full focus as well. “There’s a washing machine and laundry hanging area near the kitchen, if you turn right and open the box door thing. That’s the machine.” he spoke, gesturing to the open plan kitchen with a small nook near it for the laundry materials. “Any specific thing you wanna see?”
✽ sooyoung p. 1 year ago
@✽ seoham p. sooyoung wasted no more time when it comes to bowing and twice more at the man in front of her once the door was opened, an automatic response when it comes to meeting people (as well as hiding a mandatory embarrassment when situations similar to current one arise). as far as she can remember, seoham mentioned that he only has a female roommate so far, deducing such fact that the man is probably, or indeed, seoham. how his voice reached a certain depth had her patting herself on the back for her five minute breather before making herself known around his presence. staring past his glasses, however, made her wish she could turn back time and give some more time for the man; may it be because of the time he has spent for his schedules or more personal he has to deal with, thirty minutes would've been better than five. if there will be next time then.

his first question was a combination of fourteenth and nineteenth on her notes — to which she replied the exact words but hopeful that even a speck of her shyness masked with faux confidence. "yes, i'm park sooyoung. sooyoung works fine with me. i'm guessing you're seoham…? it's a pleasure to be invited in your home." the smile that breaks out in her features dissipates in a matter of seconds, confusion taking over at seoham's follow-up query. shoot, this wasn't on her notes — and she thought she was prepared — brain racking up the dusted parts and bringing her smile back as quickly as it disappeared. "oh no, you did mention it to me. i'm the one who forgot about it."

sooyoung, with him stepping aside, bows once again as sign of gratitude; foot alternately tapping on the ground once standing straight — a tradition she do whenever visiting other people's homes. "thank you so much for the invitation; and excuses, i hope i'm not intruding your personal space!" it is an automated response, one she memorized to heart but tone ever as gentle and friendly, and stepping inside. she was not expecting to be welcomed with a breath of familiar air once she was in, comforting and warm akin to a warm cup of coffee in the middle of a cold day.

it was a beautiful representation of modern touches bleeding through infrastructure preserved in time. the soft crunches of her shoes against walkway washing nostalgia in form of goosebumps, front yard that seemed to be an indoor garden for her was vast and neatly kept that she can't help but gape in form of mouth in a small "o". throwing the concept of first impressions outside the window, sooyoung carefully tiptoes her way to trimmed bushes and giving it a single pat and another one as a bid farewell of her short greeting. unhurried footsteps then follows the calling of mobiles, hand immediately pointing past her height and to said mobile. "oh! you guys have one too? that's cool! just reminds me of mine."

before pushing some of her inquiries, her hand reminds her of the weight beneath gripped cloth, soon extending both of her hands out as holding it carefully in and handing it to seoham with a small bow. "i almost forgot— these are the cookies i promised to bring. they may not be as good as expected, given that i'm still learning when it comes to baking, but i hope you'll like it still. they're chocolate chip cookies."
✽ seoham p. 1 year ago
@✽ sooyoung p. Seoham had been busy with work, though it was based mostly at home, for the whole morning. He spent most of his morning upon waking up at 6am, doing his skincare routine as well as cooking his breakfast, before staying hunched over his drawing desk for a couple of hours. It was a lot to handle as he had a webtoon deadline as well as a magazine illustration due the next few days. He felt exhausted but he was also bracing himself for when his new and final roommate would arrive to view the place. He had kept it spotless that whole week just in case they would randomly decide to come visit earlier than usual.

Stifling a yawn as he heard a knock on the door, Seoham mumbled, pushing up his glasses, “That must be Sooyoung.” He stood up from his seat, stretching his muscles and cracking his back as he walked out of his bedroom. He made the mental note every morning to change into decent clothes, pajamas were for bed and bed only, he thought. Clothed in his signature maroon hoodie and black jeans, he passed through the indoor garden and pebbled walkway to open the door, spotting a girl just a bit shorter than he was, holding a box. It must be the cookies she mentioned, he didn’t think she’d actually push through with that idea but it was a pleasant surprise for him.

“Park Sooyoung, right? New roommate, possibly?” he uttered out in his low voice, his glasses gently falling down the bridge of his nose before he pushed it up. He stepped aside, showing off the entryway to the traditionally styled and built Korean home so she could see. “I did tell you the house is a hanok, right? I hope that’s okay. Unless I forgot then… now you know?” he commented, giving her space to step inside. The garden was neatly done, everything trimmed, though he was worried about some of the older appliances that his grandparents had left him to replace. “Come inside, I’ll show you around?”

The pebbled walkway led to a building that was raised slightly by wooden beams, with large sliding doors that were exposing the central living area. Clean cushions (freshly bought by Seoham from Pocha Furnitures) lined the middle of it, with a shiny black coffee table right at the center of the cushions. There was even a little mobile hanging near the roof of the central building, the single-storey buildings on the sides had their own mobiles, something he didn’t have the heart to remove as his grandparents built those mobiles themselves. The surrounding buildings were connected to the central ones and housed the bedrooms as well as some storage space and bathrooms.

@✽ seoham p. sooyoung upholds herself for being one of the punctual person she knows throughout her timeline. always early, even more so earlier that it sometimes intimidated both colleagues and peers. this time, however — and as much as she hated herself for doing so — she let time roll even a bit as a leeway.

she wasn't late per se, far from it if we think about it, but then time would say otherwise…? (a big emphasis on the question mark.) sooyoung was more than prepared to come by around twelve twenty-ish pm, cloth-wrapped container filled to the brim with chocolate chip cookies she promised to bring sitting on the kitchen counter. it was thirty minutes past twelve the moment she is satisfied with how she combed her hair up in a ponytail as neatly as she could, thinking it was almost time with the amount of attempts that she did. the clock reads twelve forty-five once she's finished changing her clothes for the second time today — the first choice screams a bit more lax and more casual than she intended it to be, and she can't help herself but fo a quick change, jeans and baggy shirt now a long dress — before rushing past of her temporary home's wooden door.

a quick check of seoham's address had her thanking the heavens of having it quite close to her place, but it was still a little too early for her liking, and so a bit of an adventure she had on her way, a little slow at that: one minute, sooyoung was taking photos of her surroundings, the next she's plucking dandelions — eventually reaching his front porch but just standing there — all the while just so she can stall. she sure was itching to come by one pm sharp but then she thought he'll give him a bit of time for a breath or two after his morning schedule. five minutes won't hurt, as she tries to convince herself.

(she never is a fan and so would not want to do it ahain. by the next time she'll be as early as she can be. it is better to apologize over being early than being late, she thinks.)

with a hand holding tightly on her phone — note containing her answers for possible questions running by her screen — and the cloth clutched on the other, the time reads exactly a second after five minutes before she decides to knock on his door. sooyoung mumbles her practiced mini-speech and giving herself a pat on the back for not tumbling on her own words. fingers are crossed she will not stutter once she's face to face with the man.

@✽ yewon k. @✽ doyeon k. Seoham heard the main entrance door open, hearing a commotion outside and he leaned away from Doyeon for a moment, peering out and seeing Yewon with the moving truck outside. He gave her a brief wave, seeing her come into the room and nodding. “Hey, Yewon— yeah, the sink thing was my fault. Or half of it, it was a really old sink, haha.” he replied, once again feeling ashamed for being the one who broke it. Though at the state of it, it was going to get broken eventually.

His eyes followed Yewon’s gaze to Doyeon and he shook his head, gently waving his hand dismissively. Yewon had introduced herself, thinking Doyeon was possibly the new roommate (which she wasn’t, that was Sooyoung who would move in eventually) so he’d let Doyeon explain herself while she was inspecting the sink. He stayed silent to allow the exchange between the two women.

A moving van pulls in to the driveway, and Yewon gets out and leads the movers to her room where they need to put the stuff, while they get started with the bigger stuff, she goes to find her roommate and say hi and since she did agree to cook a meal see if there was anything specific he wanted. she's wearing a romper, and her workout shoes figuring she'll have to help with the moving once the get down to the stuff more her size then having to work with it all figured it would be an easier outfit for that and wanted to save her main workout outfit for when she goes to the park with that one friend of hers. finding him in the kitchen she waves to him
"Hello, I managed to get movers setup and got that started. I wanted to ask what you wanted me to make for that move in meal your having me make..." she says then looks over at the state of the kitchen sink. "Geez when you said you needed help with repairs you really did need everything and the kitchen sink huh?"
and that's when she notices Doyeon, and the toolbox "oh hello, sorry if I've interrupted something I'm one of the new roommates just moving in. Are you the other roommate or you here to fix the sink? I'm Yewon by the way nice to meet you."

@✽ doyeon k. He watched as Doyeon inspected the pipe, his lips pursed out of nervousness. He hovered by her, his hands in his pockets as he bent down slightly, looking at the underside of the sink without really understanding what was going on. As she spoke, he stood up straighter, nodding at what she was instructing him and pulling his wallet out of his back pocket. “That’s totally fine, actually. And…” he trailed off, realizing that even /she/ could notice that his home was falling apart. He and his two roommates hadn’t gotten around to fixing all of it yet, it was quite shabby to say the least.

“You can look around, there’s probably a lot you’ll find. Maybe things I’ve missed.” He wondered what he’d already spotted: two of the closet doors with broken hinges, a broken knob in some of the cabinets, a fizzled out lightbulb in the guest bathroom, and the beam of the entryway being tilted downward from the nails coming off, among other things. The other unfinished and ugly parts, she’d find herself. “Free of charge? Well, thank you. I guess it’s an inspection, but once you start fixing, I start paying!”

@✽ seoham p. cringing slightly at the shift of emotions playing on his face, doyeon focused her gaze back onto the broken pipe. frowning slightly at its shape before standing up straight and dusting off any bit of particles left on her pants; doyeon averted her attention back to the male figure, and sheepishly smiled before waving a hand at him, not wanting to stress him out even more than he probably was at that moment in time.

it's no problem at all, sir park. to be honest, i can go ahead and call one friend of mine from a nearby warehouse to deliver the new pipe in an hour or so. ah— you don't have to go to such lengths for me. it does look like i might have to put in a bit of attention and care in fitting it all back together, but it's nothing i'm not used to. though, considering the overall structure of your home... would it be alright if i look around in the meantime? if i'm already here to help with your kitchen sink, i'm sure there are many other things i could fix up in this house. uh—no worries, though! it will be free of charge.

@✽ doyeon k. Seoham listened to the female intently, different emotions coming across his face while she spoke. First came relief as she mentioned being able to fix it; then his expression dropped to one of worry once she gave him the bad news. She was right of course, any sane person could tell a lot of the appliances in his home were old, or worse, falling apart. Even though the architecture of the hanok his grandparents, and now he, lived in, was beautiful, a lot of the internal parts were ageing.

“, really? I mean… it’s not a problem, but. Okay. I’m fine with you buying a whole new pipe, I’ll just pay you back when you return? I’ll pay it back in full, as well as labor and probably a snack for your hard work.” he sighed, glancing at the leaking sink and the broken pipe. He should really check on the rest of the house once Doyeon leaves, to see if anything else needs fixing. His home was pretty, yet embarrassingly falling apart.

@✽ seoham p. gingerly taking the card from his hand, doyeon nodded a few times to his words— processing the details etched in the card before glancing up at him with slight surprise. considering that she was mainly here to fix the broken pipe, was he going to call her every time his pipe broke? slightly cringing at the thought, doyeon wondered how badly managed his appliances were. and at that, couldn't he just install a new one? softly chuckling to herself, doyeon glanced over at the floor before taking the kitchen sink in full view. it was... definitely damaged. slowly walking over to the sink, doyeon bent down slightly, looking over the pipe with much focus before fixing her gaze back onto the other.

well, uh— i guess before i move on to telling you the good and bad news; you probably already know, but i'm kim doyeon. i don't have a fancy card as you do, but i'll definitely be sure to save your number, haha. but yes, back to the situation at hand— the good news is, i can fix it. the bad news is, it looks pretty bad. it looked like it was literally clinging on to dear life before uh getting hit, maybe. i might have to buy a whole new pipe for you and fit it in, but it could take me a few hours. will it be a problem for you? i could come again some other time, but i think fixing it earlier and faster might make the overall process more efficient.

@✽ doyeon k. The lad flashed her a sheepish smile, rubbing the nape of his neck as he felt a tad bit ashamed at what he was about to show her: a broken sink pipe of his own doing. Sighing, Seoham lifted a hand, gesturing her to walk through the indoor garden and pathway to the main section of the house before leading her to the kitchen area, where the floor was starting to get damp again from the leaking pipe. He groaned, rubbing his eyes and his nose at the sight before pulling out his business card from his pocket, handing it to her so she’d have a way of contacting her.

`Park Seoham, Illustrator and Author` the glossy lavender-colored card said, with the back section containing his business email as well as his cellphone number. “Here, I feel like I might call you a few times more, so it’s best you save my number under my name you know… anyways.” his eyes flitted to the sink and its open pipe. “There’s a bad dent and I’m pretty sure I kicked— I mean moved another section underneath. Hopefully it’s not too much work for you? I can definitely pay extra for labor though.”

@✽ seoham p. it didn't take much time ''til the owner of the house opened the door for doyeon, greeting her with a friendly welcome. offering the other a smile, doyeon raised her unoccupied hand with a dismissive wave. she was more than happy to help a person in need— especially one that seemed desperate enough to ask for her help without needing to see any actual qualifications from her. silently shaking her head from such a thought, doyeon followed the other into his house, gripping her toolbox as she looked around in awe.

it's really not a problem! it's a good thing you got ahold of my number right as soon as my shift ended. otherwise, i probably would have had someone else ask me for some type of help, haha. anyways, lead the way! i'd love to take a good look at it— just to make sure it isn't anything too serious.

@✽ doyeon k. seoham had been lounging around in his home for a few minutes, sighing as he regularly inspected the underneath of his kitchen sink that he ended up breaking himself. it was definitely not his fault that his sneaky foot kicked off a bit of the pipe and dented the gear thing while he was washing dishes. that morning he was just mopping up the leaked water that spilled since the pipe was now open. after the area was dry, he avoided using the sink, only washing the dishes in the bathroom until he heard a ring at the door. “finally.” he wiped his hands on his jeans, carefully surveying his traditional korean-style home to see if it was decent enough for visitors before opening the door. “hey! thanks for coming on short notice.” he uttered out in a welcoming tone.

@✽ seoham p. having just gotten off her previous shift at the bookstore, doyeon urgently made her way back home to fetch her handy toolbox. it took a while, but eventually, she found it and ventured out into the streets in search of her client's home abode. it was... confusing, to say the least. the junction of the roads led to many parts of the neighbourhood which almost made doyeon get lost. though, thanks to the help of modern-day gps tracking, doyeon made it to the front door of their living quarters. admiring the architecture of the place, she absentmindedly knocked on the door, awaiting for the owner to let her in.

@✽ seoham p. "Alright well after I move in I can work on that be a good starter project and something everyone will benefit from" Yewon nods. "Well I think that's about all I can do now. let me know when the movers can make it and I'll give them my address so we get my stuff moved over, and I'll make everyone dinner. for now I guess I'll just go and pack.." She shrugs "it is a nice place you have here and Thanks for the opportunity to geek out over it." she giggles.

@✽ yewon k. He watched the female’s head as she poked through the bathroom, settling his phone in his pocket even if it buzzed with notifications from his mother. “Well, good! The moving guys I know are pretty nice, the owner is friends with my grandparents so I guess they were comfortable with me too.” He listened to her comment about the bathroom, sliding his head in as well to look. It was pretty clean, decorated neatly and the shower, toilet, and sink were pristine, yet just a tad bit too simple. Understandable that she wanted to make some changes, as long as she helped pay for the fix. “I don’t expect much, but food is food as long as it doesn’t poison me.”

“Dead zones?” Seoham paused, thinking if there were any. The wi-fi had a good reach, but his house was still quite large, and he remembered some spots. “The very end of the hallway of your rooms, and the storage area beside my room. Those are the worst places, but not fully dead I think? The ones I know of anyway.”
✽ yewon k. 2 years ago
@✽ seoham p. Yewon's handwriting was a little messy but it was still easy enough to read that it said this was her room. She goes in to check the bathroom out, as he mentions about the movers "ooh Great, I tried to move into my current place myself and oh my gosh I was so dead, and I had to pay extra for the van because I was way to tired to get it back on time. I do not wanta do that again." she nods "Bathroom is okay, will take some work to make it really nice but it's a decent start. going to be fun helping to renovate this place." she then laughs. "Sure just don't expect four star meals. I'm not the best cook out there but I don't think I'm that bad at it."
She smiles as you mention about the internet. "Ahh good, ooh any dead zones for the wifi? That can be my first project making sure we can use that nice connection where ever we want it in this place."
✽ seoham p. 2 years ago
@✽ yewon k. Seoham hovered quietly behind her, hoping that she would like the room and sighed in relief once she tacked a sticky note to one of the doors. “Well, I have some moving guys in my contacts, they were the ones who helped me move in earlier this year! I can call them for your moving time too. And make sure to cook something for me, I /am/ going to be your new landlord.” He stood outside the bathroom door, leaning against the wall and checking his phone as she spoke. “Well, as fast as Dandelion internet can be, because I need fast internet access for my work! Pretty sure it’s fast enough for three people to play online games at once, I think. Or stream videos all at once from different computers. How do you feel about the bathroom?”
✽ yewon k. 2 years ago
@✽ seoham p. she nods and goes to look at the two rooms, picking on that has a nicer view as hers, by scribbling a note and tacking it to the door. "okay this room is going to be mine. I'll have to see when I can get movers to help me move my stuff over. less you can help get some strong guys to help me out. I'd be wiling to cook something nice up for them." she nods, and heads down to check out the bathroom, as her experience on that is the way to a man's heart is through their stomach."so what do you have for internet access out here?"
