Before he can say anything else, the girl whispers something that he can't quite catch thanks to the loud music, making his lips immediately fall shut in response. He contemplates asking her to repeat it, but then reconsiders. Maybe it's best if he doesn't know after how awkward he just made it.

He felt her fingers circle his wrist and the next thing he knew, he was getting pulled off of the stool and following along as she led them through the crowded area. He had half a mind to consider she might have finally taken his advice to get fresh air, so he didn't register exactly where they were going until the echo of the club's music started to dull behind them as they reached the more narrow hallways towards the back of the club and pushed through the bathroom door.

The moment he realized it, his nerves picked up again as their new setting sank in, the new quietness amplifying every other sound in the smaller room. The rustle of his jacket as he awkwardly stumbles in after her, the faint and uneven breaths between them, the lock clicking into place. His arms stay by his sides as he feels her hands climb up his chest. His eyes land back on her face, lips parting slightly wanting to say something, but again, unsure of where to even begin. He must have taken a little too long because she tugs on his collar, successfully pulling him closer to her and forcing him to bring his arms up on either side of her waist, palms flat against the stall door to keep from stumbling right into her.

"Wait!" A single word finally leaves his lips. His eyes lowered to her hands, noticing the purple paint now staining her slender fingers, reminding him of how they'd been tugging at his hair, not even a couple of minutes before. He pushed the feeling to the back of his mind as he slightly lifted his head, his voice lowering again now that the loud music no longer overpowered it. "You've been drinking..." He said quietly not able to face her entirely. "I don't want to take advantage of you" It really wasn't just the drinking, but he wasn't sure how to tell her that, especially after kissing her. But maybe it would be best if he did. Get it out of the way already and make things clear without leading her on.

When he finally manages to bring his eyes to hers, there is a glimpse of something that wasn't there before. In fact, the look in her eyes seems almost entirely different and he stops for a second taking it in. His gaze searches hers, trying to find the right words but his thoughts are all chaos. He wanted to say everything and nothing at the same time. He wanted to apologize, to explain, but he also felt guilty and wanted to take that look off her face, somehow preferring the annoyed and dismissive glance she usually gave him. He swallowed back, willing himself to build up the courage before he spoke "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have..." His voice was barely above a whisper, but in the quiet of the stall, it felt deafening. “I didn’t mean to make you think…” He let out a shaky breath, the unfinished sentence hanging in the air between them as he tried to make his thoughts sound coherent despite the way his mind swam at how quiet it was, how close they were, and how weird it felt to see such an unfamiliar look on her face. "There is already someone..." Jake was caught between the guilt of leading her on and the crushing weight of his own insecurities. Heeseung’s face flashed in his mind again and his stomach twisted painfully. He wanted to be fair to Yewon, to himself, but he couldn’t escape the feeling that he’d already made a mess of everything. Especially after noticing the weirdly sad look that had found its way into her eyes.

It could be the alcohol still lingering in her blood, or it could just be the emptiness clinging to her heart like a 10-legged parasite, but when Jaeyun finally /finally/ leans in, at last erasing the space between them, she can’t help but tense up in surprise, her eyes going in and out of focus before she eventually allows them to close, sighing in relief into the kiss and relaxing into him. This proves to be something of a medicine to her sickness, that high state she so desperately searched for just moments ago returning as soon as she saw dark, her head spinning in a deliciously addictive motion that only drove her further into delirium.

The kiss is slow and tentative at first, mouths moulding together mimicking the way lovers would slow dance for the first time. Yewon explores his lips further after just a few seconds, letting her weight fall on him, bodies pressed together as her free hand once more finds the nape of his neck, fingers curling softly but firmly around the strands of his hair, never once allowing him to take the lead. Her head spins increasingly faster as she misses the brief moments their lips part to breathe, the lack of oxygen working wonders to bring her exactly to where she needs to be.

What Jaeyun doesn’t know, and doesn’t need to, is that there’s a very clear image on Yewon’s mind. As she feels the warmth of the body practically glued to hers, she imagines the speeding heartbeat now syncing with hers to be of a certain someone, someone that could so easily wrap her arms around Yewon, make her hers with no questions asked, someone who Yewon pictures, alone in her room every night, who brings out all types of emotions from her, emotions she thought were long lost. She imagines her reason to live.

She’s intoxicated, both figuratively and literally. It’s one thing to paint pictures in your mind alone, laying in bed in the darkness, coldness and loneliness of your room at 3 in the morning, but to do so as you add to it all these physical sensations makes Yewon feel things she can’t truly explain. It’s been so long for Yewon, but Byul makes it feel easy. She makes everything sound easy.

There’s madness hidden in the way she tugs at his hair, her fingers working in slow, circular, repeated motions, lips never parting for more than a split second when their heads change directions, a smile painting her lips as illusions paint her mind. She’s lost all concepts of time and space around them, running from idea to idea inside her head: to bring Byul closer, to deepen the kiss, to make the both of them disappear from that place, to get them somewhere they can be themselves.

These thoughts are interrupted as Jaeyun pulls back from the kiss, leaving Yewon’s heart pounding in her chest, the sudden loss eliciting a soft whimper from her. For a split second, she refuses to open her eyes and almost reaches out to bring the two of them closer again. That is, until he speaks, breaking whatever trance she’d gotten herself into. The smile fades from her lips as happiness is replaced with a mix of confusion, sadness and desperation.

What doesn’t change, however, is the way the deep, loud bass keeps wanting to interfere with any type of logic Yewon tries to come up with. There’s nothing but frustration, the colored LED beams, and lust. Desire. If she closes her eyes, she sees Byul. That's all the logic she needs.

“Just shut up” she mutters to herself after a second of silence, holding onto whatever tiny bits of the illusion still remain in the clouded space that is her head. Her hand wraps around his wrist as she turns around, motioning for him to follow her as she basically drags the both of them towards the back of the club. In any other context, those words could’ve held a whole different meaning and power, but for Yewon that was almost like an order, a plead from her to not end everything so soon, to not destroy her just yet.

Yewon doesn’t care to look around, her eyes completely focused on their destination. If people wanted to stare, they would, though she doubts anyone there actually cares. They’re a pair of nobodies. There’s, at best, a handful of people who know their names. It’s perfect.

The trainee pushes past the door without caring for the lights, quickly dragging Jaeyun behind her as she lazily checks for other people in there with them. Halfway through the search, she decides it’s good enough and pulls him into a stall, locking the door behind her as she leans her back against it, finally loosening the grip on his wrist, only to run her hands up his chest, all the way up to the collar of his jacket. She only now realises how quickly she’s breathing, the music drowned out but still echoing between them. Yewon pulls him in by the collar with enough force to make him lose balance, giving him a playful yet somehow forceful smirk, her eyes no longer showing the cold, calm mask she forces upon herself, instead revealing a broken, lonely, desperate version of herself she could’ve sworn she’d buried long ago.

Taking a big enough breath to allow her to speak, Yewon’s gaze falls on his lips once more as she whispers, almost inaudibly.

“Go on”

Jake could see a glint of impatience reflected in the girl's eyes for the quick moment her expression changed in the slightest, though he barely had time to consider or react to it before she was right back to the flirty smile that so easily had his mind in a racing mess trying to catch up with her actions. This only worsened when he felt his other hand covered by hers and Jake felt his entire body tense up as Yewon guided his trembling hand to her waist, where his palm rested awkward and stiff, almost like he'd never touched another person in his life. Gosh, she was probably thinking he was either dumb or a prude.

By now he was extremely aware of her every move, her intentions clear in the way she slowly closed the space between them. As she got up, her knee brushed his with deliberate boldness as she placed herself between his legs. He could feel how forced his breathing was through his clogged throat. She was so close.

'Like this?'

Another shiver down his spine at just the two words and his thoughts were swirling again. His eyes scanned the room again in search of assistance, maybe Heeseung would show up and- No. That was unlikely. Heeseung had been the one suggesting and encouraging for some space and for them to see other people. Which was probably what he was doing right now, while Jake had just been trying to make a friend out of Yewon and somehow gotten himself tangled up in this situation.

Why was it so easy for Heeseung to just find someone else and forget Jake was even around? His heart was still thundering in his chest, though now it felt like it was getting squeezed painfully tight too. As if his mind hadn't been enough of a mess with the girl he had in his hands, quite literally now, he had to go and let Heeseung slip into his thoughts too. He could feel his breathing picking up and he closed his eyes for a moment as he tried to stop himself from thinking about it.

Whether it was his own insecurities, his need for validation, or maybe a moment of impulsive emotional weakness due to a mixture of both, he felt his lips finally part in a slow exhale, "Okay..." He finally said, voice barely audible over the hammering of his own heart. "I'm still not sure we should, but..." His fingers tighten a little around her as he feels a tip of anxiety creeping in "If it is what you want."

He leans in carefully, slowly, before hesitating again. His thoughts were a tangled mess of panic and second-guessing. What was he doing? All that's needed is an image of Heeseung flashing through his mind, a wild and empty guess at who he is with, and a stray thought of how Jake always seems to be the one left behind. Maybe letting this happen would be fair? Of course, this thought process entirely ignores Yewon's participation, her feelings, and what would be fair for /her/. But before this notion even crosses his mind, he has already leaned in the rest of the way to press his lips into hers.

For a moment everything was nearly still. And then everything felt... wrong.

Her lips felt soft against his own but somehow they lacked warmth. There was no spark, no connection, which should not have surprised him at all, and yet his mind was suddenly hyper-focusing on all the wrong things. From the awkward angle to the stiffness of his body, and the fact that he had not untangled his hand from hers, they still swayed beside them laced together a little clumsily, while his other hand still hovered over her waist unsure of what to do with it. So that was his first attempt at making it slightly better, smoothly letting go of her fingers and bringing his hand up to her cheek, pressing a little further into the kiss but nope- Definitely not better. Cringing a little at himself as he was filled with a sense of embarrassment, he finally pulled away.

He wasn't sure where to go from here... He couldn't be sure how it felt for her, but certainly not up to whatever expectations she might have had. The kiss felt hollow and void of emotion and he could feel the stiffness and uncertainty in him, no matter how hard he'd tried to relax into it and make it enjoyable.

It was not that he was a bad kisser, not on the 'technicality' aspect of it, or at least, he'd never been told so. But Jake was a lover. He could only truly get into it and offer them something if he was feeling it too, which just... wasn't the case. Hell, he'd really wished he could since he wanted nothing more than to forget about Heeseung and maybe not have to reject Yewon.

It was only then that it hit him. There was more to it than just his own selfish reasons for accepting. Regret and guilt set in immediately, realizing he’d used Yewon as a stand-in for something, or someone, else. More than that, she had been drinking, and she was into him? He'd taken advantage of her. What had he been thinking?

His mind keeps racing and his lips part slightly as though he wants to say something, but no words come out. What was he supposed to say? Thank you? I'm sorry? Nothing came to mind that made sense or didn't sound incredibly dumb and borderline condescending. He feels his ears burning with guilt and embarrassment as he clears his throat, and then he stammers, voice cracking slightly once he finally manages to speak, though nothing intelligible makes it out. "That was... um..."

‘You don’t actually want this’

Well, that wasn’t entirely true. In reality, that was actually all Yewon wanted, it was just that the person in front of her was the wrong one. The person who should’ve been sitting there, who actually did sit in that same spot just a little over an hour ago, that person’s the only “thing” Yewon really wants. She’d just about do anything to be able to be in this exact situation, this position, with her, again. Yes, again, because she did have a taste of what that would look and feel like- to be impossibly close to her, to feel the smell of her perfume as it lured her in, numbing all the other senses. It was addicting. Yewon was so close to getting what she needed, what she’d dreamt about for years, except much like the idiot in front of her, Byul turned her down.

The frustration she felt, alongside the jumble of thoughts that screamed and screamed in her head after being rejected not once, but twice, turned to anger at the hesitation coming from Jaeyun. He was pulling the ‘good person’ card on her, and she hated nothing more than people who looked down on her, who thought of themselves as superior. Just who does this guy think he is?

No one’s unbreakable though, and Yewon wasn’t going down without a fight.

She did her best to ignore the pain in her hand from the boy’s tight grip. A deep, slow breath wouldn’t be enough to calm her ever-growing annoyance but nonetheless, she took it, pretending he hadn’t almost pulled her with him as he crushed her hand, almost slipping off his stool. Jaeyun was testing her patience, which was already null on your average day. Remaining calm was getting increasingly harder, but the trainee pushed away the urge to use physical force, putting back on the most flirty expression she could in her current state.

“And if I do, want this,” she suggested, her gaze just briefly falling on the bottle that had stumbled onto her lap, not even a second later dropping to the floor by their feet, before focusing her attention back on his face. Their hands never parted while everything went down, and Yewon took advantage of that, reaching for his other hand, that was clinging to the counter and guiding them towards her waist, only really loosening her grip on his fingers to place his hands around her. She slowly got up, taking no more than a step towards him and pushing one of his legs out with her knee, now standing in between his thighs, before bending down to just barely match his height, their faces not as close as before, but still suspiciously close to anyone who might spare the duo a look.

Jake felt his heart hammer in his chest, each beat sounding louder in his ears than the music that blasted through the club. He wanted to move, speak, do something, anything, but he was frozen in place. Her every move felt very calculated and deliberate, and he almost felt a little relieved once she finally took the water from him, but by now he was all too aware of the atmosphere between them to let his guard down.

He watched her uncap the bottle and bring it to her lips, though actually drinking it or sobering up did not seem to be the main point of whatever plan she was brewing. He wasn't sure what her intention was, but her antics were at least working on keeping his attention solely on her. His eyes followed the way she finally swallowed down a few gulps of the water, entirely missing the way a little bit of it dribbled down her skin until it seeped into the white collar of her costume gown. His eyes then climbed back up to meet her gaze, its cloudy intensity sending goosebumps over his skin and he felt his throat going dry, forcing his breathing to remain as regular as possible under the undeniably bold and almost predatory actions.

His leg unconsciously jerked just a little when he felt her knee bump into his and the next thing he knew, her warm palm was pressed against his own, intertwining their fingers together. Although his fingers lay limply between hers, he couldn't bring himself to pull away, though he wasn't entirely sure whether that was his own hesitance or the fear of upsetting her. What would any other guy in his place do? What would Heeseung do? He wanted to look around again, hoping Heeseung, or someone would show up and break the tension, but he couldn't bring himself to look away either.

Her proximity sent an involuntary shiver down his spine and he swallowed back dryly, trying to clear the haze that had settled over his mind, desperately attempting to keep any trace of composure he had left. As she pressed further, the warm breath ghosting over his lips, he finally felt his body react on its own, a sharp inhale leaving him and a jolt of panic overriding his frozen state as he jerked back instinctively. It was, apparently, a little too far back on the small stool and he felt himself nearly slip off the edge of the seat. His hand reflexively tightened around hers, while his free hand reached out in an attempt to find anything to grab onto, the closet thing he found being the bar counter, knocking down the discarded water bottle in the process, which toppled off the surface and tumbled over their thighs before falling onto the floor beneath them.

The words hit him harder than they should have, the closeness implications betraying any sense of coolness he might've managed to keep until now. He let out a shaky exhale, voice trembling slightly as he tried to come up with enough words to form a coherent sentence and gaze flickering between her eyes and her lips in clear agitation. "No, sorry..." He managed to utter out, again in whispered English, his eyes slightly wide and filled with something between desperation and guilt, not entirely sure what he was apologizing for. "I-" He tried again but wasn't sure what he even wanted to say, what he could say in this situation. "You don’t actually want this" He finally stammered out, though it sounded more like he was trying to convince himself rather than her, forcing the shakiness off of his voice to deceive his rising panic. "Or at least, not like this."

"So what you're saying is," she said, pulling back the hand from under his grip, just enough so it'd make him feel safe, just enough so he wouldn't feel himself getting into Medusa's trap, fingertips brushing one last time against his as her hand slid on the fabric of his pants from under his hold. Yewon wasn't entirely sure why or for who she kept forcing it, why she felt the need to, at least for now, feel wanted. Or maybe she did, but she refused to allow her mind to deal with what that would mean for her. It could be the alcohol speaking, it could just be the exhaustion, but at the moment she didn't care. She let her body guide itself, and whatever happened, happened.

Yewon took her time playing with him, her gaze holding a soft haze as it ran across his face, from his eyes to his lips, and back up, repeating this intoxicating routine almost in slow motion, as if she were a serpent trying to hypnotize her prey.

Her eyes eventually landed on the poor bottle in the boy's forgotten hand and an unexpected chuckle slipped out, getting lost under the loud music. That bottle was getting in the way. In a swift motion, the girl snatched the plastic object from his hand, slowly undoing the cap while never widening the space between the two of them. She brought the bottle to her lips, slowly tilting it, eyes now on his, refusing to break eye contact. A single drop escaped, or rather was made to escape, from the corner of , travelling in an uncertain path down her neck. All an accident, of course.

Just as quickly as she grabbed it, she disposed of it, setting it on the counter next to them. Revelling momentarily on the freedom her hands felt, Yewon decided that, sometimes, freedom wasn’t something necessary. She, out of all people, would know all about it. The trainee inched closer on the stool, knees now against Jaeyun’s as an oh-so-stubborn and oh-so-inconspicuous hand forced itself upon his now empty one, palms together as she interlaced their fingers, one by one, arms swaying softly to the bass next to their bodies.

Her clouded eyes went slightly out of focus as she once more closed the distance between them, coming to a stop at a distance she knew would become a problem were either of them to move even by an inch. Her lips parted, holding in a half-smirk as she blew softly on his, tilting her head to her right for a second before just barely inching even closer, slowly brushing her lips against his, the words escaping them getting trapped in between them, their lips grazing in a delicate dance.

"You don't wanna kiss me, right now?"

Jake could feel his breath catch again at the words and the suggestive tone, each moment more unsure of where this was coming from. For a moment he wondered if this was really happening or if he was somehow hallucinating. Had he had any alcohol he might've seriously considered the possibility, but that wasn't the case.

He wasn't sure how they'd gotten here but maybe he'd given her the wrong impression, always attempting to befriend her, showing up at her cafe, trying to get her included in the trainee group... Oh god, did he make it seem like he was interested? Had she been playing hard to get all this time because she thought he was into her? Because she was into him?

With each new option that popped into his head, he kept getting progressively more nonsensical as he tried, by any means available, to come up with something that explained Yewon's behavior. This wasn’t him. He wasn’t the confident guy who could banter back or play along. He didn’t know how to navigate this.

At the smile, he gripped the stool even tighter, his knuckles turning white, though his hand quickly snapped to hers as he felt it climb further up his thigh, gripping her fingers to stop it from going any higher. He was sure anyone walking by could see how uncomfortable he was, though perhaps they’d mistake it for something else entirely. "No..." The word came out slow and careful, eyes a bit shaky as he forced himself to keep them on her face, though his fingers kept their grip on her hand.

Yewon was never good at reading people, it had always been one of her many flaws. Granted, she didn't really care, which was probably a good explanation on why that's the case. Jaeyun however, was as easy to read as a child's book, and Yewon was living for it. Not even the crazy club lights or the alcohol could hide the changes in his expressions, from being caught off guard, to seemingly relaxing once he thought he'd handled the situation, to now being flustered and probably worried about what the position they're in might lead others to think, as his sudden and not at all subtle "glancing around" suggests.

The trainee had been trying to, for some reason and rather annoyingly, get closer to her. Over and over he'd gone to the cafe she worked at, trying to strike up a conversation. Yewon couldn't really be sure of his intentions, and were she to be completely honest, she didn't care. It wouldn't be the first time a guy had approached her, saying they just want to get to know her when in reality... we all know what that means. Yewon was tired, tired of men, tired of people, she just wanted to be left alone. But Jaeyun never seemed to get the hint, and it was probably time Yewon acted on it. Either he gets freaked out and leaves on his own or she gives him what he wants and watches him walk away as they all do.

It was easier said than done, however. Yewon was starting to get frustrated, and she couldn't really help the annoyed look that painted her face as a curt sigh escaped past her lips, even if the mask only really fell for a few seconds. Jaeyun was harder to control than she'd ever have guessed, given the few exchanges they've had thus far, and it was getting annoying how, although he reacted to her advances, he wouldn't give into them.

"And if it weren't for the drinks, would it be 'like that'?" She tried once more, putting back the mask and slightly leaning back on her stool to allow herself to fully study his reaction as the hand previously on his arm came to now grip the stool right by his hand, fingers brushing against his as her thumb hovered the skin on the back of his hand, her eyes never leaving his as she offered him a teasing smile and tilted her head to try and distract him from the hand rising ever so slightly up his thigh. "Mh?"

Jake watched as an uncharacteristic pout made its way to the girl's lips, making her almost unfamiliar in his eyes. Most of the time when he'd see her she was either giving him a bored or annoyed look, so anything other than that seemed out of character. At any other time, he would probably think it welcome, but at this moment he was still unsure of what this meant.

He relaxed slightly as he felt her arms ease off of his shoulders, thinking he would at least get her to back off a little. This didn't last long though, as one her palms fall to rest just above his knee while her other hand teased over the yellow coat of his costume. He felt his jaw clench as he tensed up again, eyes scanning their surrounding briefly, suddenly very aware of the people around, other trainees, idols, staff. He couldn't help but worry a little what image this might paint and a part of him wondered where Heeseung was, he hadn't seen him in a while.

Pushing that thought off of his mind, he faced the girl again though he couldn't quite read her expression, her eyes down on her own fingers. He took the moment to in a deep breath, exhaling slowly as he tried to compose himself once more, one of his hands gripping tightly at the stool beneath him while the other was still wrapped around the ignored water bottle.

The moment Yewon spoke again though, he felt his breath hitch, his face immediately flushing in embarrassment, not having expected something like this from her at all. The girl had always been bold, but never like this, at least not towards him, and he didn't know what to do with himself. He wasn't sure what to say or how to even respond to her. He opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out at first, his mind scrambling to form a coherent response. "No, I..." How did people usually react in such a situation? He forced himself to breathe again as his brain racked itself for something better. "I mean, not like that" He cleared up further though his voice was a little shaky and uncertain.

He had never been good at telling people no, worst even at turning them down. Thankfully, for better or for worse, he'd only been put in such a position once before, and he may have abused the excuse of his contract with his previous company to make it just a little easier. "You're not thinking straight, that's just the drinks speaking for you" He pointed out trying to keep his eyes on his face and not show how nervous he truly felt right now.

Yewon took a moment to think, would it be better to give up? She was drunk, there was no doubt about that, but she could still think, she could still make decisions. Good or bad ones, that’s a different story. But for now, there was a single thing between her and that state she so desperately needed to be in, and that thing was Jaeyun. Surely, she could push it a bit further, right? It’s not like she’s hurting anyone, other than herself.

A pout appeared on her lips, desperately holding back a sigh of frustration as the trainee pushed her back. He was playing hard to get, huh?

“Why?” she answered, also in English. Yewon didn’t know much about him, but she could just about guess he was either born or lived abroad. Luckily for her, she was forced to learn everything to perfection, and languages weren’t an exception. As much as she hated what she went through, the lack of a normal childhood and friends, she had to admit, it was coming in handy these days.

She didn’t let go completely, even after Jaeyun tried to push back her hands. Before he could fully sit her back, she let a hand fall on his leg, just above his knee, as the other refused to leave the arm that so desperately tried to push her back. Yewon examined his expression once more and almost, just almost felt bad for him. Though, of course, she would never admit to it. Glancing down at the spot where her fingers played around his arm, Yewon smiled to herself. He’s a man. It won’t take long.

“Don’t like it?” she added, a playful smirk on her lips again as she inched closer once more, supporting herself on his leg. It was no longer only about the drink, even if ultimately that was her goal. Yewon was competitive, though who exactly she was competing with was probably hard for anyone to understand. The night won’t end until she makes him fold. And then she’ll get her drink.

Much like he had expected, his offer of water was quickly dismissed. She barely spared the bottle a glance before her eyes were redirected at him, her lips spreading into a grin he'd never seen on her face before. Not that he'd seen much of any type of grin on her face, yet. Still, this one made him feel a little hesitant, unsure of what to expect from her at this moment.

He barely had time to process the added pressure next to his feet, glancing down for only a second before his face quickly snapped up as he felt her move closer. As her hand rested against the back of his neck, he felt a shiver run down his spine, face painted in surprise as he tried to read her expression for any hint of what had spurred this on, or where this was headed.

Jake didn’t quite know how to handle the sudden closeness, his body tensing up as Yewon leaned in further, their faces barely an inch apart. The daring grin on her face was so different from how she usually acted around him that it threw him off completely. The dim club lights and the steady music in the background seemed to amplify the tension and he felt each tone of the bass drumming through his head.

As she spoke, he could feel her breath ghost over his skin and he felt his face heat up, though thankfully hidden by the heavy makeup for the Trickster costume. The way her eyes darted to his lips, even if for barely a second, was enough to remind him of the bigger picture, her words setting in. She was definitely not herself right now, and the act was clearly an attempt to try and coax him into getting her another drink. The thought was enough to finally get himself to move, his lips parting as he finally let out a single word. "Wait" slipped out in English due to his nervous brain and he lifted his own hands to try and carefully guide her arms back to her sides, before quickly switching back to Korean. "I still think you should take a break..." He said with a small forced awkward chuckle to try and break the tension.

He glanced around a little, maybe looking for help, or to get a look at alternatives, or at the very least to redirect his gaze elsewhere that wasn't her. "Maybe you could have something else? Like a soft drink? Something with sugar?" He glanced around for a bartender, to get a look at his possibilities, or at least to redirect his own gaze elsewhere that wasn't her. After a few seconds, he finally dared glance back at her to try and grasp her reaction. Worst case scenario, maybe he could trick her into drinking some cocktail, or at least gesture for the bartender to make it very very light.

@✵ shim jaeyun⁻ᵗʳᵃᶦⁿᵉᵉ .
Yewon had been at the bar for probably over an hour by now, and if there was ever truly a time she thought of leaving, now wasn’t it. Whatever the night had saved for her once she got back to the dorm and the alcohol no longer drowned everything in her head, she didn’t want anything to do with it.

It was hard to make out the other’s expressions, mostly because she’d left her glasses at home and the rather uncomfortable lenses she’d brought had long been disposed of, but it was clear by the way he handed her an undesirable plastic bottle, he wasn’t going to be as easy to fool as she initially thought.

But it didn’t matter. Yewon was getting that drink one way or another.

The colourful club lights cast shapes on his face, pulsing in sync with the bass of the music blasting on the speakers next to the bar. Yewon’s gaze followed the chromatic patterns by his lips for a second as she struggled to focus on whatever it was he was saying. A thought crossed her mind.

“Shh” she whispered as she pursed her lips, raising a single finger to them as a foot came to rest on the footrest of the boy’s stool, next to his legs. She leaned forward, a mischievous grin now covering her lips as she swung her arms around his neck, left arm resting on the boy’s shoulder as her fingers playing in the air behind his back, the other hand, previously on his shoulder, coming to rest on the back of his neck, tracing lines with her thumb on the hair by his nape.

“I’m good, I have a high tolerance. Just get it for me, please?” she said, emphasizing the pleading as her nose almost brushed against his, her eyes not being able to decide whether to focus on his lips or his own eyes, alternating slowly between the two in the hopes he got the message.

@❅ jung eunbi ᵖᶦˣᶦᵉ Their entrance had definitely been a bit of a mess, and Janus were just gathering themselves as they walked up for the main event when Hanbin picked up the soft call of his name by the warm and familiar voice he would recognize just about anywhere. He let the others continue onwards as he turned to face the girl, lips already twitching up into a smile that only spread further once his gaze landed on the girl, her beauty accentuated by the lovely glittery dress and the delicate yet so detailed fairy look the stylists had put together for her. The look suited her like she had been meant to wear this.

It took him a few seconds to say something as he approached the girl, but there was a bright twinkle in his eyes as he took her in. His girlfriend. It still felt almost like a dream, but he refused to let go of the sudden rush that overtook him when he'd felt her respond to his kiss. How real she had felt pressed into him at that moment. "You look gorgeous" He finally said once they were face to face, reaching out one of his hands to twist her into a little twirl. The wings made it difficult and he had to turn his face away for a moment to avoid getting slapped in the face by the glittery green add-on, but he still let his fingers linger on hers a little bit before letting her hand slowly slip from his and back to her side. He wanted to kiss her, but he knew now was not the moment. They'd get their chance later, he'd make sure of it. For now, he opted to offer her an entertained smile, as he whispered between them "You sure made it easy to keep Peter Pan's attention for the night"

@✵ huh yunjin⁻ᵗʳᵃᶦⁿᵉᵉ @◈ park jaechan⁻ʳᵃᵈᶦᵒ ʰᵒˢᵗ @◈ lalisa manoban Lɪsᴀ⁻ᵗʳᵃᶦⁿᵉᵉ Walking a little behind the other two, never one to be all too front and center, Mina finally stepped up closer to Jaechan's mic, presenting her tight leather outfit for the camera - she was lucky her size was one of the most common, so the party store had a costume that fit her perfectly - making her embody the sultry Catwoman to finish the Gotham Good Girls - the trio we had made up on a whim.

Mina was more than lucky to be flanked by two such strong personalities as Lisa and Yunjin, in that way she could ponder the question in peace, overthink, overanalyze her answer, scrap the original draft and come up with a different, more savoury (in her mind) version.
"Hmm, well presuming they are here with us, and I'm not... with them - I would ask them... why did they choose to stay in this realm as a ghost, instead of go into the afterlife? Maybe they know something we don't?" she wrung her prop whip in her gloved hands, hoping the answer was enough for the masked host, the leather squeaking in her grip.

@☾ jennie kim ʳᵘᵇʸ ʲᵃⁿᵉ Byulyi let out a soft chuckle, hearty and warm like a fire as she hugged the younger woman closer to her. The wings were a slight unwieldy, so her hands had moved further down, toying along the hem of Jennie’s frilly skirt to hold her close. Moments like these were the ones she loved the most. Not necessarily the slight drama that preceded it nor the illegality of it all. It was just the simple act of hugging the woman she cherished the most close to her, her fingers playing over the soft skin of her midriff.

“Okay, okay,” she chuckled, deciding not to fight whatever Jennie wanted tonight. She had come here for her, and she would prove that. “Two dances,” Byulyi agreed, giving another gentle nod of her head. “But if you want me not to embarrass you, you’ll have to lead me a little.” The older lifted her hand, gently wafting it before her red eyes. “I am practically blind with these babies on.”
She stumbled a bit forward as Jennie tugged her closer, letting out another happy laugh. “I’m comin’, I’m comin, don’ worry so much.”

Jungkook bows in apology , entering the club far more slowly than he had the carpet. the ironic part of all this, Jungkook was very much sober.

@◈ moon byulyi ᴍᴏᴏɴʙʏᴜʟ⁻ʳᵃᵖ ᶜᵒᵃᶜʰ " Nobody can see, it's you and me tonight," Jennie finishes the lyrics for her , uncaring of the world around them which was dangerous. they had to be cautious and here they were sharing secret kisses in the club corridor. still, jennie's heart thumped rapidly in her chest as it always does when moonbyul shares her affections towards her, something she craved yet still feels shy from. it's telling in the way a light hue of red dusts her cheeks and in the way she hides her glowing face into byulyi's neck when she hugs her.

" now , I believe you owe me yet ANOTHER dance," there's a smug smile on her lips now, much different than her sulky nature not even a minute ago. "You better not embarrass me , I have a reputation to uphold." Slightly true, Jennie wasn't known to embarrass herself ; however, DIA are known as the worst dance group in the company, which Jennie thinks is totally unfair given that royal flush literally doesn't dance at all. but alas. She leans back , hands still linked together as she gives byulyi's a tug, " Come on, to the dance floor. Time to get this party going."

*DIA was playing a fun game of twister and dodge as they were lined up like faeries, with wings sharp enough to point out any paparazzi's eyes that dared to travel through the doors*
*She was eager to get inside and find a particular trainee that kept her attention wrapped around her little finger, but again, like a well-behaved idol, she stuck with the group until they were safely into the party with the media banned*
I'll see you all later! I have to go find someone!

Pixie was gathering the corners of her wings, doing her best to avoid hitting people in the face as she trudged along the carpet in high heels so tall she felt her knees wobble looking down. The giant, shimmering wings were definitely the statement piece on the Tinkerbell outfit that her stylist had curated for her. The short, green dress seemed to glow under the photographers' cameras, as their flashes reflected off the thousands of bedazzled jewels. Pixie herself flashed her practiced smile until she stumbled upon a sight that had everyone giggling.

The straggling members of Janus - Hyunjin (dressed as a banana with seemingly nothing else on); Jungkook (dressed as a rabbit with a comedically large carrot twice Pixie's size) and Hanbin (wearing pants tighter than she ever thought she'd see him in, but also a handsome, humble Peter Pan). For a moment, Pixie wondered if her stylist had been in cahoots with Hanbin, and she nearly stumbled in surprise. From her lips, the meekest call for her boyfriend's name slipped in her shock.

"H-Hanbin oppa!"

@✵ choi yewon⁻ᵗʳᵃᶦⁿᵉᵉ Jake doesn't realize it immediately as he approaches the girl. His eyes had taken in the way she leaned onto her palm and for a few moments, he just assumed she was probably bored and alone. It was only once she straightened up and faced him that her demeanor slowly started to feel a little odd to him, though he wasn't quite sure what to make of it. Instead, his eyes chose to focus on the dead device she held in her hand, following it all the way down to the counter as it was set down. He lets out a small "Oh, that " as he drags his gaze back to her, finally taking in the smudged makeup that had easily been hidden by the dim lights of the nightclub as well as the naturally smudged look for the costume, though, now that he was paying attention, it definitely did look a little bit like she'd been rubbing at it or sweating it out.

It really only clicks for him once the girl finally speaks up and he can hear the obvious slur in her words. The makeup had also done a good job of hiding her expression, but as he pays closer attention he finally does notice the half-lidded gaze and the faint blush over the bits of her cheeks that were no longer tainted by the white makeup. He remained silent for a few more seconds as he took note of her and the empty glass sitting in front of her, being pulled away only once her hand landed on his shoulder, for once initiating the interaction herself. Not that he'd been counting.

Her request was just as unexpected and his brows were raised as he faced her unsure of how to respond. The haziness was obvious in her eyes. He wasn’t sure how much she’d had to drink, but he'd argue it was probably enough. Still, he tilted his head a little in question and handed out his own water bottle to her in offering. He knew that was not what she meant when she'd asked for a drink, but he still thought it best at her current state. Yewon looked like she needed a break from drinking, at least for now, and maybe some fresh air. "Maybe you should have some water first?" He offered quietly, though almost too low to be heard over the music, yet kept his water held out in resolve.

@◈ park jaechan⁻ʳᵃᵈᶦᵒ ʰᵒˢᵗ Jaeyun did not notice the way Jaechan's hands fidgeted in front of him as he kept his eyes on the other's face, an excited smile still over his features as he nodded softly at host's words. He did, however, catch the way the other swayed a little as he spoke, and it had him wondering whether Jaechan was nervous.

He’d always assumed radio hosts and streamers were effortlessly confident, after all, they spoke to people for a living, most times on a daily, and more often than not while live streaming to hundreds, sometimes thousands, of people. Then again, one might say the same about Jaeyun himself. He'd been extremely shy at the start, and he still was, but one way or another he'd managed to navigate it and get comfortable, appearing almost confident even. Somehow, people seemed to enjoy the image he passed off, which felt quite good as it was genuine. He'd never been good at masking himself, even if he had wanted to.

Jaechan, also felt genuine as his eyes remained on Jaeyun's face as well, a soft glint to them that Jaeyun did not miss, but also did not interpret any other way than excitement for the event and his job. "Oh, I do actually enjoy them. And it's also a good way to learn a few things about how to act if I ever get a chance to go on those" The trainee replied with a light chuckle, his own hand coming up to rest over his upper arm, fingers pressing into the yellow fabric of his jacket. He'd managed to debut once, but it hadn't lasted all that long and as their company had been small and broke, they hadn't managed to get their chance to go on a lot of shows, so there was still a lot he had yet to experience.

As Jaechan explained further, Jake nodded shortly in understanding "Ah- That makes sense. I'm sure it will be quite popular with all the idols around" Jake let out, his eyes diverting briefly to the girls of DIA as they passed them by in bright and pretty fairy costumes. His gaze was then redirected to the host as he continued "These events are really popular with the fans, so it's a great chance to get an exclusive." As he said it, he noticed the exchanged glance between the host and his crew and he assumed they'd be resuming soon, so he prepared to step back, coming to a stop as the other questioned him about it.

He looked shortly between the camera being set up and the other male, lips parting slightly as he considered his options. He was still nervous around the camera, but it was not like he was not used to it by now, surely it would be nothing too difficult. But also, he was still just a trainee, so wouldn't the viewers prefer to get a sneak peek at some of the popular stars? "I..." He started, eyes glancing back towards the main entrance gauging whether Heeseung's group had arrived yet, but finding no one. He had nothing else to do but wait, so if the other was offering, "If your viewers would be interested?" He replied in a tone of question and a small hesitant smile, one of his hands coming up at the side of his neck while the other one slid into his pocket and fiddled with prop knives.

When the other questioned him about his name his expression changed to reflect the quiet surprise at the fact that Jaechan knew not only his given name but also the English one he'd been using as a 'stage name'. The host had certainly done his homework either for the event or simply for his show since joining DSF. "Oh, off-camera Jaeyun is fine. Jake is more of my online persona, but either works really" He offered, before gesturing towards the other with one hand "Is there a way you'd prefer I call you?"

@☾ jennie kim ʳᵘᵇʸ ʲᵃⁿᵉ Seeing that Jennie did not pull away Byulyi gently squeezed her hand. It was not much but at least it was somewhat calming for herself. “I know they won’t,” the older hummed, running her thumb slowly over the ridges of Jennie’s knuckles. “Consider it successful then-” Byulyi chuckled as Jennie lead her backwards, not stopping until the wall caused her to let out a small sound of surprise as she thudded against it. “-cause I agree.”

Her arms moved out a little as if by instinct, allowing Jennie as close as she wanted. She could hear her own heart throbbing in her chest, its beat louder than the beat from the nearby dance floor even. All from hearing those few words. “You are mine, Moon Byulyi.” She liked the sound of that, causing her lips to crack in a smile that might have seemed a bit too cocky for what the situation called for.

A smile that did not get any less confident after the younger pressed a kiss to her lips. “I like you and me,” she huskily talk-sang, pulling Jennie a little closer towards herself. “Dancing in the moonlight.” The song was still quite present in her mind, her constant little tinkering project when she was not working on something else.

Byulyi’s red eyes followed the hand gently running against the side of her head before focusing back in on the beauty it belonged to. “I know I keep flip-floppin’ on colors, but… Thank you.” She returned the favour, gently tucking a few strands of silken hair behind Jennie’s ear, using the movement to place her hand on the younger’s cheek. The trainer pulled her closer, gently catching her lips in a kiss. “No more surprises. I promise.”
☾ jennie kim ʳᵘᵇʸ ʲᵃⁿᵉ 2 months ago
@◈ moon byulyi ᴍᴏᴏɴʙʏᴜʟ⁻ʳᵃᵖ ᶜᵒᵃᶜʰ The explanation was underwhelming in itself and does almost nothing to extinguish the worry that crawled under her skin. A trainee being that bold without invitation is so truly odd. Not only is it insubordination as trainees are not allowed to be affiliated with anyone during these times but disrespectful. Someone needs to put this ‘ Yewon ‘ in her rightful place.

However, despite the lingering feelings of the big green monster and the nagging anxiety, she lets byulyi take her hand. “Compliments get you nowhere,” that was proven not true as jennies frowned morphs to a pout into hints of a small smile. “And I know i do. I wanted to look cute for when i saw you.” Slowly, she steps forward and begins crowding Byulyis space. Uncaring of anyone else around , jennie needed to let everyone know Byulyi was off the market. She walks her backwards until she back contact with the wall behind them.

“ you’re a good person and thats why i adore you, but i see the way she looks at you. it makes me uncomfortable, that whole incident made me uncomfortable. You are mine, Moon Byulyi. Okay? Mine.”

She punctuates the statement with a quick kiss to her lips. Jennie isn’t one to back down so easily. This will be dealt with but for tonight she wants to have Byulyi all to herself while they enjoy everything the night has to offer.

“And you look really good too , it’s almost distracting. Your hair is really suits you,” she reaches up with an affectionate hands, tucking some of the black strands behind byulyi’s ear. “Lets just enjoy tonight, yeah? No more surprises though.”
◈ moon byulyi ᴍᴏᴏɴʙʏᴜʟ⁻ʳᵃᵖ ᶜᵒᵃᶜʰ 2 months ago
@☾ jennie kim ʳᵘᵇʸ ʲᵃⁿᵉ Jennie’s curt tone made Byulyi frown, wondering if whatever had happened earlier was lingering still as she stumbled after her. Though she had been harsh to Yewon there had been a truth to her words. Being that drunk in public was bad, both for yourself and those around you. Perhaps she disliked seeing people as drunk as Byulyi did too?

But all her questions got somewhat answered as they found a slightly more secluded spot and Jennie finally turned around to berate her with questions. It gave her little time to truly take in the view before her, one she would have normally delighted over if not for the air that surrounded them. And as per her usual M.O. she stood there letting Jennie empty out her questions before trying to answer.

“To take it one by one. One: That’s Yewon. One of the trainees at the company,” she began, lifting a single finger to keep track for herself. “And two-“ She lifted another finger, lips pursed in a thoughtful pout. “-I have no clue. I’d say the alcohol. That makes people-“ Byulyi frowned. “As for why I have not mentioned her, she’s just one of the many people I help out at the company. I don’ see what would be worth mentioning.”

She knew jealousy though. Even with explanations the tumultuous roar of emotions did not always make sense. So in hopes of calming the storm she glanced around, ensuring few were around to see as she reached for Jennie’s hand. “You look really cute in that.”
