‣ name : wiv
also known as - wolf immunodeficiency virus acquired immunodeficiency syndrome - wiv is a labroatory made synthetic virus, based from the hiv virus ( human immunodeficiency virus )
‣ identification code : x8
‣ affected species : wolves with the wolf genome
‣ family : retroviridae
‣ symptoms : early symptoms include nervousness, insomnia, nausea, agitation, anxiety, sweating, vision problems, psychosis, numbness, dizziness, headache. late symptoms include weight loss, fever, pneumonia, sepsis, depression, cancerous growths in their lympnodes. final stage symptoms include gangrenous limbs, weakness and living corpse syndrome. the pain cannot be relieved with the painkillers, the infected ones become even more psychotic. at the lethal stage the virus has already infected the golden core (if present) and blackened it, leading to a shatrering
‣ mortality rate : 90%, no known cure or vaccination
‣ duration : life long
‣ transmission : blood, has to be directly injected into the bloodstream. cannot survive without the host or cannot be spread with bloodly fluids
‣ pathophysiology : during the 24 hours after being transmitted into the blood system, the virus starts to rapidly replicate itself. during the primary infection, the white bloodcells of the infected person will put on an immune barrier, leading to a primary fever. the t cells in the body are producing ccr5 protein. in a chronic phase wiv destorys the majority of the t cells in the host's body, leading to a chronic infection. as the virus keeps mutating and replicating, it infects the dna of the cells, creating unrepairable damage. as more damaged cells keep dividing, leading to a cancerous growth which will express in some symptoms like pain and weightloss. the virus will keep spreading through the body, destorying and diffusing through the lining of the blood vessels. the first damaged organ is the eyes, creating permanent vison loss. as the infection enters the lethal phase, the body's immune system has been distroyed and weakened,t he body itself cannot produce more white cells to fight the infection. smallest changes in the environment can lead to lethal end, including small bruises, which can develop into gangrenous tissue leading to a healthy tissue death. at the lethal stage the virus has already infected the golden core (if present) and blackened it, leading to shattering. as soon as the golden core is destoryed, 90% mortality rate
‣ diagnosis : wiv presence in the blood tests
