@☼┊wen linghe ᵃ she knew she had tread upon territory that she wasn't supposed to the moment he had frowned and cut her off. that's understandable, she shouldn't have gone so far as to question the alpha further. finally, at the pavilion where she'd stay, madison's eyes trailed over the building made of crimsons and obsidian, crafted from fire, the pavilion was a beauty within itself that madison found herself rather drawn to. the contrast of the obsidian walls and crimson accents of bright rubies and firey topaz lining the exterior to glimmer in the sun, the eclipse pavilion was where she'd be staying for the time that she'd remain in qishan to establish the connections necessary to forge an alliance between the two packs. "thank you, protector. have a good day." and with that, madison walked into the pavilion with her two aids trailing behind her.
the rest of the day had gone by smoothly. confined within the pavilion, for the time being, madison entertained herself with the little things in the room, the little books and scrolls that transcribed passages upon passages of the cultures of wen, the forefathers, and the history involved with each and every leader all the way down to the current one. the only omega leader who had ever sprung into power thanks to the cruelty of wen ruohan. preoccupied with the scrolls that laid over the bed, madison eventually found herself within the oncoming sunset of the night when one of her maids had come by to question the jin leader if she truly was going to read the night away. glancing up towards the sky, madison set her scroll to the side. "No, it's fine. Please- draw a bath for me." the alpha then proceeded to slide off the golden silk she wore. the golden pins coming off from her brunette hair as she then bathed herself within the tub that had been drawn for the leader. It was only then when madison's ears perked at the sound of the man who announced himself by the pavilion doors, shielded by the light and the paper screen shielding her view from the entrance into the bath, madison gestured for her maid to let the protector in.
"my lady is currently bathing at the moment. please wait in the front until my lady finishes, protector." the maid had smiled, bowing her head before she opened the door for the protector.
@✸┊jin madison ᵃ [sh ²⁹ ⁿᵒᵛ] Strange? Well, what Linghe expect from a Jin alpha? accepted the fact as it is? for sure, she's not one of those dumb ladies who depend solely on their beauty to have a comfortable life. She has her own aura whether physically or mentally and attracted opposite . The alpha frowned, dislike how she's being a curious woman over his background and how Wen's guard life is. "I'm not in position to answer those questions." She's smart enough to know her question wasn't appropriate for a Wen protector to answer. The rest of their journey was in silence until they reached their final destination. 'Madison?' It sounds foreign to him and she must not be a local here. 'I'm not a local guide.' Now, Linghe cursed the Wen clan leader for handing this job on him. "Have a nice rest my lady." He bow in respect as he make his way out from her pavillion.
Dark brown orbs send over death glares to several guards who try their best to sneak a peek on Madison. "Go back to your place or I'll gauge out each of your eyes." Terrified with his threats, they run away in group. Once he make sure no one around, Linghe go back to his business. He thought he has done with his duty of the day but Wen clan leader summon him to the hall. Inside, several royal guards present with their heads down. Kneel down in greetings, Linghe questions his intention for calling him here. "Get to know the lady, gain her trust and we will do an ambush attack." Just as he expect, there's something suspicious behind Wen Yuliang's fake acceptance before. As a Wen protector, he has no choice but to accept. Excuse himself from the hall, he sigh loudly while looking at blue clear sky, compose himself and going back to his place.
The sun set and brights stars replace their place in the night sky. It's past dinner time and he has to make sure the comfort of Jin clan. Knocking on the door, Linghe kneel down and announce his presence. "General Linghe is here to check upon my lady. May I come in?"
amusement. that's what it was. as she made her way through the halls and led by the wen general, madison paid little to no mind to the attention that was handed to the jin leader as she made her way through. the whispers and comments, the young alpha had grown used to. silk mask covering the majority of her face save for her eyes, eyes of brilliant gold and fire whilst the alpha made her way through the halls. head raised with a confidence that the female leader had been taught to embody and employ, madison care little for the stares. she knew better, her worth was not in her beauty--yet, beauty was a virtue the woman was willing to endure.
"how strange. nonetheless, congratulations on your new post. how are you enjoying the change? were you a guard before? please do tell me about what it's like to be the general of the wen clan. i can't help but to be curious." the smaller of the two smiled behind the silk mask whilst gold eyes curved into crescents. at the mention of traveling outside the pavilion and into the streets of qinghe, madison's heart raced. anticipation. maybe she could go out to explore the city--although, she'd need to shed her bright clothes to don herself in darker colors as to not attract attention. oh, the possibilities! "that sounds lovely, general. i will trust myself to you when that time comes. for now, my aids and i must rest. we've traveled all the way from lanling, and resting would be lovely."
engaged in light conversation and allowing herself an attempt to memorize the path to the pavilion she'd be staying at, madison's gaze returned to the alpha. the jin leader's lips pulling into another smile behind her mask before she curstied towards the general. "forgive me, my name is madison. jin madison. thank you, general linghe for bringing me here. i hope to see you again? i do look forward to being guided around qishan."
No matter how important she is, Yuliang never treated his guest with sincere respect. It's normal for Linghe to suspect wen clan leader of his abnormal behaviour. Despite all his doubts and suspicion, he stay silent and waited for the lady to turn around and walked out from the hall. Whispers were all over the place : some were on how beautiful she is, how graceful she is but few made disrespectful and ual comments on her. Clenched tight on his saber, Linghe sent his infamous death glare, warned them not to say any further comments if they still want to see sunrise.
Few steps away from the hall, the door closed. The alpha going to lead Jin clan guests to their pavillion when a melodious voice questioned him in respectful tone, something he could never get from higher ups. "It's not rude at all my lady. I've been protector of Wen clan since the former protector passed away." 'Because I kill that ing bastard.' He added in his mind. "I will lead you to the pavillion and if you wish to travel outside, please pass words to the guard. I'll be there soon to guide you around." Walked pass through Jin clan group, Linghe lead their steps with occasional glance to the lady.
Not going to lie but she has heavenly beauty he has never seen before. It caught his eyes to the point, he might have to gouge it out in order to stop being creepy and addicted to her features. Passing by ponds and bridges, a red brick gate welcome them. "We have arrive. I hope you rest well for the day, lady..." The alpha trailed his words, hope to know her name.
Feline eyes of gold settling upon the form of the man in front of her, Madison took a moment to look over the protector clad within his gear. It seemed he had only just finished with patrol and was now standing before her without even a chance to discard and change into proper attire to greet the female leader. Not to mention, it was amusing to say the least that the other seemed to take a while to understand the meaning of the Jin leader coming to the Wen pack in order to speak of negotiations and peace between the two clans of Jin and Wen.
"I look forward to it."
The woman made of gold and copper spoke as she lowered her eyes, not as an act of submission, no. rather, it was to avoid her gaze from lingering upon the attractive wen alpha who had begun to make his way towards her. with the power of the soul's lust being the embodiment that raptured and took hold of her golden core at birth, madison wasn't sure of what to or, or what to expect. 'entertainment' usually meant staying home and tending to the quiet duties of being the female leader of Jin whilst Hoseok appeared as the face of media and those abound. Only with persistence, did Madison have a breath of the world that was much larger than her. Fingers entwined and pulling the gossamer fabric up to cover the lower half of her face by the string, it was only Madison's eyes which then lifted up to finally meet those of the Wen alpha with a slight nod before the Jin woman turned to leave first with her two personal guards and the Wen alpha trailing behind.
"if you don't mind me being rude, have you been in the position of the clan's protector for long?"
@✸┊jin madison ᵃ [sh] 'Hm? Is someone coming to the palace?' Both eyebrows knitted closer, trying to remember if palace guard ever reported to him about guests they rarely have for Wen clan leader. Linghe might be consider as an elder wolf but his memories is as sharp as a butcher knife and unfortunately, he didn't remember anything. Judging from how many guards stood straight, waiting for their master, the guest must be someone important. Whispers of compliments and admires slipped out from two maiden who passed by. Curious, he questioned them and found out about lady from Jin clan who arranged a meeting with Wen clan leader.
"She's so beautiful that no Wen lady able to compete with her"
Linghe snorted, if only they knew how Jin clan acted : all mighty and arrogant. Truth to be told, the alpha only met one wolf from Jin, but it left deep infamous first impression on him.
"My lord, leader Wen has summon you to the hall."
It's a rare events when Wen Yuliang summoned him while he's having a meeting. Nevertheless, he has to comply. Still clad in his patrol attire, the protector made his way. The moment they announced his arrival, all eyes were on him. In a glance, he knew who's the maiden lady talking about. Her features isn't something common to be found in Wen clan. Although Linghe isn't a fashion guru, that traditional yellow attire suits her perfectly, showing off her natural beauty.
"He's Wen Linghe. Wen clan protector and I'm sure he's able to protect you during your stay here in Wen."
Linghe still trying to digest everything when the lady from Jin bowed as a greeting. "It's a pleasure to meet you general Linghe."
If Wen Yuliang clear his schedule for a meeting with lady from Jin, she must be someone with high status in the society. Linghe kneeled one of his knees and his hands formed a traditional chinese style greeting. "No, It's an honor to accompany my lady during your stay here." Moments later, he stood up and from his seat, Yuliang motioned him to take her out and entertained the guest. Following the signal, he stood aside. "After you my lady."
possibly, she could've gone for a more traditional attire. however, madison wasn't one to truly abide by traditions no matter how sheltered she had been from the world outside. two guards stationed by her side, madison made her way into the hall where she'd meet with the leader of the wen pack, wen yuliang. bronze skin contrasting against the gold dress that adorned her skin and accented the gold of her eyes, madison's long hair fell down her back as she made her way around til she stood before the hall. the slender jin alpha standing there in seemingly pristine perfection as the jin mother waited to hear from the wen leader who would begin to make his way down to speak to the jin mother. gold eyes trailing over the room, madison watched as the crimson of the phoenixes and the fire which loomed underneath the floor of igneaous and marble bathed the room of darkness within it's bright crimson. bronze woman illuminated by the light, madison drew in a long, slow breath. maybe she should've brought someone else, maybe it would've been better if hoseok had tagged along.
shaking her head, madison drew in a slow breath before she looked up. yuliang appearing before her, max a few steps after, with another tailing behind. very well. it was more then plenty.
after thorough discussion and hopes of mediating the thin line between the wens and the jins, madison had finally breathed a breath of relief. "i'll take my leave." madison smiled gently as she stood, smoothing her hands over the silk gown before the jin mother bowed--only to stop once yuliang had spoke once again. with the strength and opposition of yuliang's efforts to change the way of the wens, there was more uprisings and efforts to keep to their old ways, and for extra protection: madison turned to look at the general who was offered for her. wen linghe.
"it's a pleasure to meet you, general linghe." madison smiled, bowing her head towards the wen alpha.
@☼┊wen jackson ᵃ It was one of those rare occasions where Wen Fan was given the appearance of freedom. He arrived in a second carriage, following the one that seated his husband and the first wife. He stepped down the stairs of the carriage with his usual sour, condescending expression, gaze cold and red lips pressed together. His long black hair was drawn up elaborately, long strands spilling over his red silk robes embroidered in black. What kind of event was this again? He'd forgotten. He'd been here a few times over the past 5 years, each time facing the same reactions. Some who had never spared him a glance before now let their gaze linger on his frame, but those were just a handful of alphas and betas. The omegas hid their sneers as he passed by them. Wen Fan didn't blame them. Being a mistress was a humiliating affair, but Wen Fan carried himself with his usual prickly pride. He hated being in places like these. He hated crowds. His hands grew clammy under his long sleeves and he gripped onto the fabric nervously. "Wen Fan, go entertain yourself elsewhere.", the first wife turned and said. The omega gave a faint nod and walked away. To others, this might look like the first wife getting rid of competition, but this served Wen Fan very well. He could not wait to get out of the middle of his hall, away from all the people, away from his husband. He didn't want to have to put on any shows here. He still couldn't walk properly. Normally, Wen Fan would have healed himself but in the past days, he had been struggling to control his powers. It was the anxiousness that stressed him to a point where he couldn't concentrate enough.
Just as the years before, he could hear rumours about him drifting through the hall. 'Wasn't his father exiled?', one person laughed with feigned concern. 'He grew up in the middle of nowhere and only came here late. Isn't he just a barbarian then?' Wen Fan walked on. 'Did you hear? Supposedly he used to have a rank. Now, look, just the 2nd wife. How embarrassing.' Wen Fan walked on. 'I heard a lot of rumours about indecent stories about him when he was at the academy too...' It was mostly the omegas gossiping. Wen Fan didn't react, not a muscle twitching in response to their accidentally loudly spoken whispers. The hierarchy was clearly defined in the Wen clan and Wen Fan was not high up on that hierarchy. He knew better than to act out here, but how suffocating it felt to have to hold back. 'Oh look, it's the deserter's son!' Hm? That wasn't about him. Curious, Wen Fan glanced at the person people were gossiping about. An alpha. Hah. 'Why does a half-blood, the son of a traitor get to come to the palace?', someone whispered in annoyance. Half-blood? Wen Fan stopped and turned to look at his husband at the 1st wife. They seemed distracted. "..." Wen Fan wasn't much for socialising, but the large crowd was making him increasingly nervous. Of all the things he had experienced in his life, the memory of being chased through the streets of Jin by an angry mob, enraged alpha pheromones flooding him, was as vivid in his mind as it was torturous. Oh . He shouldn't have thought about it. Maybe he'd feel better, not alone. With that stupid hope in mind, his steps hastened until he was at the half-blood deserter's son's side. "Join me on the balcony?" Wen Fan's gaze flickered over the other people around him nervously as he spoke.
