@♙ Henry Cavill (SH) Leaning against the wall leading into the kitchen, he watched with a small smile as Henry admired the books and other things in the apartment. He had never considered that even something as simple as a book would be a luxury to his friend, but he supposed that was just how life was for some humans in the poorer realm. And that was decades ago. Henry's son must not have ever experienced the finer things his father once did. Adam's expression changed at this thought. He couldn't stand seeing the humans suffer while the vampires, and few privileged humans, had all the luxuries to himself. But he also wasn't sure what he could do to change it.
At least saving a friend and his son was a step in the right direction.
Adam strolled into the kitchen for a moment and opened up a bottle of scotch he had been saving for any occasion. He usually spent his nights cooped up in the apartment, reading books and writing poetry, drinking by himself. Sometimes he would drive to the palace and take his horse out for nighttime strolls. But ever since he moved into the penthouse, he was alone. Not that he minded it, it was a much welcomed change from the annoying and petty drama of the vampires. But an empty house never made for a good home.
He poured the liquor into two glasses before coming back to where Henry was in the living room. For a moment, he was lost in his own thoughts, but he needed to process the request as well. It certainly wouldn't be too much trouble, after all, he could just do it during the day. But would Henry's son be afraid of him? Would he even trust him? Adam handed the human a glass and clinked them together before he gulped down his share. The burn down his throat made him groan and he bit on his lower lip after.
"Of course. I can just bring him tomorrow afternoon. However... how would he know to trust me? I've never met your son, y'know."
He moved over to one end of the couch and sank down into the cushions, running a hand through his thick hair. This felt more complicated than it needed to be. Complicated wasn't really for him, either. Would he have to help raise the kid? Probably, if Henry and him were to live here, they would both be under his care and supervision. What would Henry do during the day? He knew his friend wasn't the type to stay indoors and read all day. These were all things that would need to be worked out, in time.
"I'm sorry if things feel really sudden. It's funny. I'm now worrying about so much, taking you two in. I certainly didn't expect to become your housewife," he chuckled.
@♙ Henry Cavill Pulling into the city, Adam navigated the streets with ease. Only the vampires were allowed to have cars, and those who actually had them were very few - only the wealthiest of them could afford such luxuries. It unintentionally broadcasted his status above almost everyone else's, a count who could keep a careful eye over the citizens. Not that he cared that much about status and wealth, those were just things he needed to live a comfortable life and a fair tradeoff for being cursed with bloodsucking immortality. They soon pulled in to the affluent block of expensive penthouses and he pulled in to park the car, turning off the engine. "Feel free to make yourself comfortable with whatever and we can get things for you like food and whatnot tomorrow," he said, getting out the car.
Once they got upstairs, he opened the front door and suddenly, a large lion with golden mane came running up to the two of them. The vampire didn't flinch at this since the lion always did this and it stopped at the men's feet, sitting up patiently. "Henry, this is Bastien. Please pet him or else he won't let us in," he chuckled and leaned down to pat the lion through his thick mane. His familiar was sort of like him, the him he didn't want to openly show. Soft and loving hidden inside of a somewhat intimidating shell. Bastien let out a low hum - similar to the purring of a housecat - before moving back inside the living room and lying down on the carpet.
The interior of his penthouse was dark complemented with neutral colors, hardly a pop of anything bold to be seen. It was cool but homely, somewhat cozy. A bust of a lion's head hung over the television in the living room, a reminder of his house. Far from the opulence and grandeur of the palace he spent majority of his newfound life in, and also far from the humble little house he shared with his parents and sister...but that was another life. "Here's the living room, the bedroom is down the hall and last room on the left, bathroom is across the hall from that. My study is off to the right and the kitchen is just through here," he pointed in the directions. "I know it's...not what you might be used to, but like I said, make yourself comfortable. Do you want something to drink? Or I could order you some food..." he was trying his best to be a good hospitable host, although, he rarely had guests.
a question...
is it possible to ask for two characters from the beginning?
I'm torn between being a human and a vampire, and the only solution I got is getting two characters XD
