@♊︎ song mingi ᴳᶦⁿ Are you subtly saying you miss me?
/she asked jokingly, unable to stop staring at their hands as she entwined her fingers with his, smiling to herself.
Aside from friends and family, i’m pretty sure you have no one else to best, this is my first date with someone
@♊︎ moon sua ᴸᵁᴬ prevention, then? hahaha
and yes you should, even though we live in the same dorm, I think I don't see you enough these days
//glances at you then back to the road, smiling as he reaches for your hand with his free hand//
of course, I want to make this a special one after all
I hope it can be one of the best dates you have
@♊︎ song mingi ᴳᶦⁿ I don’t think I cried though
/she gave him a playful pout only to turn her head away, pursing her lips to stop the smile playing on her lips at his compliment.
I’m glad to hear your day got better then
I should show up more often
/she joked before her gaze turned to the flowers on her lap, fiddling a bit with the petals as she smiled.
It’s more than fine with me
I’d love it
You really thought a lot about today, huh?
/she turned her attention to him again, grinning widely.
@♊︎ moon sua ᴸᵁᴬ At least you've stopped crying~ so I gotta say, mission accomplished~
And my day just got better now I see the most beautiful lady in front of me
//grins from ear to ear even after you get inside the car. Once he seated as well, he then starts to drive off to the building toward the restaurant he had reserved prior//
I hope Italian food is fine with you?
@♊︎ song mingi ᴳᶦⁿ /she burst out laughing at the comment, shaking her head in amusement as she held his hand, following him.
That’s a funny way to make me stop from tearing up oppa
/she let out a little sigh, a smile playing on her lips while her cheeks continued to feel hot.
My day was alright, gotta say, the text was quite surprising and I pretty much looked forward to it the most throughout the day
And how was yours oppa?
/she had to clear , unknowingly squeezing his hand a bit as she felt her ears and neck heat up from his compliment before playfully curtsying.
Thank you my good man
/she said with a grin despite the redness enveloping her face before she stepped into his car, the bouquet safely on her lap.
@♊︎ moon sua ᴸᵁᴬ please don't cry, I'm afraid someone would see and think that I bullied you
//he lets out a soft chuckle before reaching to hold your hand, leading you towards his car which parked not too far from where they were standing//
How was your day so far, Sua?
I hope you didn't work too hard today. And I have to say, you look really beautiful
not like you're not, you always look beautiful but today you just look very... radiant
//he opens the passenger door seat and step aside a little
hop in, princess. Our date starts now
@♊︎ song mingi ᴳᶦⁿ /Seeing Mingi made her grin, jogging over to him only to slow down once he was walking over to her, hung open as she saw the bouquet, making her pout while smiling, feeling touched at the gift.
You got this for me?
/she reached for the bouquet before hugging him with one arm, giving him a squeeze then pulled back, admiring the flowers and grinning widely up at him, letting out a little sniffle.
Thank you oppa
I got excited when you gave me a text, you and I both know i'd rush to you either way
/she chuckled softly, using her free hand to wipe away the unshed tears.
This is really nice, I love it
@♊︎ moon sua ᴸᵁᴬ //once I see you, I get off from the car after making sure there are no one around the area as I get a bouquet of roses I bought earlier. Making my way to you with a big grin on my face//
Hey there cutie, you dont need to rush though
here, for you
//smiles as I hand out the bouquet to you, hoping that its good enough for the opening of their first date//
@♊︎ song mingi ᴳᶦⁿ /she ran out of the elevator as soon as she reached the said floor, looking around for Mingi as she passed by the different cars and vans parked.
@◈ minatozaki sana⁻ᵐᵃⁿᵃᵍᵉʳ Most compliments tended to deflect off her outer shell without much but a polite smile, yet Sana’s simple statements made Byul trip over her own breathing. She was not the kind of woman that could easily accept any praise, her past still hauntingly holding her back from connecting by reminding her it was all lies. People did not always mean the things they said. Even Sana.
Or.. Did she?
Byulyi’s head turned slightly, regarding the familiar woman beside her much like a scolded puppy would their owner. She wanted to believe what Sana said was the truth. Yet she could not shake the feeling deep down; that all this was just platitude to make this elevator ride and the future of their potential collaboration at work a lot smoother. Certainly, someone who feels safe and comforted by another’s presence would be easier to work with.
And she wanted to feel safe. It had been the very reason she had chased Sana away inn the first place. Looking for safety when you had the constant instinctual sense that said everyone was after you was hard. You end up hunkering down as soon as you find even a modicum of safety, walling yourself within an emotional bunker to charge until the day said safety goes away. And then it all just comes flowing back. For years she had fought that building feeling and it had seemed to do her favours. Sana complimenting her work should surely have brought with it more happiness. Not all this fear, that was for certain.
“I am sure they would always see and acknowledge the work you did to prepare them. And I’m sure many would probs miss the safety you offered.” Her words were almost more for herself to justify the feelings she was harbouring in this mess of emotions, each one wanting to be louder than the other. “But I am sure you’ve set them up for success. That’s just who you are, Sana.” Though it might have come off a bit forced, Byulyi did her best to flash a smile. “I know that’s who you are.”
The ding of the elevator’s bell saved her from further embarrassment. She stepped out to the parking lot, the warm air smelling of rubber and old gasoline as they walked. Each step was accompanied by an echoing click of heels and the drag of asphalt against rubber soles, a cacophonous melody just distracting enough to take Byulyi’s mind off of her worries.
“Oh, no author in particular, just… whatevs dimestore romance I can find,” she explained with a chuckle. Her arm shot up to rub at the back of her neck, cheeks threatening to turn just the lightest shade of red. “That sounds kind of pathetic, don’ it?” she continued on with another half hearted laugh. It felt stupid to say it out loud. Then again, she had always been a bit cheesy. Nothing had truly changed on that front. “Trust me, it’s more of a relief than you could imagine. I…. I have missed you.” The nails on her right hand nervously twitched against her palm as she steadied her breath. “I- uhm- You-“ , why was this so hard. Byulyi stuffed her hand into her pocket, fishing out her cellphone and handing it over towards her ex. “I deleted your number to resist calling you more so- uhm… Yeah.” Asking felt too hard. “Anything you’d want to, I’d be happy to catch up.”
@◈ moon byulyi ᴍᴏᴏɴʙʏᴜʟ⁻ʳᵃᵖ ᶜᵒᵃᶜʰ "No need to thank me. All I asked of you before was to better yourself and now here you are, just as I hoped you'd be." She never stopped hoping for the best for Byul. Even after they broke up, she still thought about her and prayed that things would be better for her this time. Sana could've reached out but knew better than to interrupt someone's process. She understood that all of us needed some time to grow alone into what was destined for us and she knew Byul had it in her to grow and move forward from where they were the last time they met.
She chuckled and nodded, smiling at the other, "Well thank you for saying so. The goal is always to finish the job at the end of the day. I could only hope I cared for them enough to prepare for the life they're about to take on." She was quite concerned about the well-being of her trainees. While yes their company was more than capable of taking care of their own, she was still worried since the fans usually evolve in more ways than one. She knew they had to learn though but still hoped for the best especially now that there was a show coming up that would expose them to the public her big sister sense kicked in even more like she wanted to protect each of them even more.
"Oh yeah? What genre? Any specific authors perhaps?" Sana smiled after asking, realizing their elevator ride had ended and the doors opened, letting the warm air in the lift as she began to step out. It was a comfort to know that Byul had found interest in something, let alone reading. She had changed for the better. "Oh hey, no pressure ok? Let me know when you want to I still have the same number and only if you want to. I don't want to force you if you aren't comfortable with it or if anyone else is. So let me know ok?"
@◈ minatozaki sana⁻ᵐᵃⁿᵃᵍᵉʳ Her little joke earned her a laugh, though it was cut a bit short at the nerves still bubbling under the surface. "I know." Sana had always been far too kind hearted. She would have been the last person Byulyi would ever expect to throw hands. And yet she felt intimidating. Her whole presence was, and all due to the weight that hung behind Byul and their past. Though she doubted Sana had it in her to hold a grudge, she couldn't help but feel bad.
"Thanks," she awkwardly chuckled, reaching up to tussle her hair, searching for any real kind of distraction. Just something to fidget with. It was somehow nice still; knowing that Sana knew she got somewhere in life. Knowing that she could at least show something she had succeeded with. And to hear that she was proud...?
It felt as if some of the weight was easing off her shoulder.
"Oh wow. That... That's a lot of responsibility. I couldn't think of anyone more suited for that." Did that sound like a backhanded compliment? She hoped not. It was earnest and true. Sana had a heart bigger than anyone else, so if anyone were to be able to lead the kids on to a good future it would be her. "Oh no, they're all good kids. I try to help them as best I can when I can. Not always the easies though." Byulyi flashed a tiny smile. "As for myself, I mostly spend time reading." Each words felt slow coming of her tongue, her voice almost contemplative as if she didn't fully know how much to give out. "It... Helps me calm everything."
The sudden offer caught Byulyi completely by surprise. One thing had been seeing her again, and at work no less. But to have her already offering a hand in acceptance and potential friendship, Byulyi was struggling to even comprehend-
"Sure, when?"
Or at least her mind was struggling to comprehend how. She would get it if things from here would have just been a hi and bye at work, so when Sana had asked to meet up it had felt as if all that weight was back again. Yet there was hope there. Hope that they maybe could rekindle a friendship from the ruins of her actions. "I tend to not have too much going on after work."
@◈ moon byulyi ᴍᴏᴏɴʙʏᴜʟ⁻ʳᵃᵖ ᶜᵒᵃᶜʰ "Byul.. relax. I'm not going to throw hands, you know I could ever do that." She chuckled noticing the slightly tense vibe that the other female had. Sana couldn't blame her though, she would probably freeze up even just a little despite being extroverted. It was nice to see Byul looking and feeling much better compared to their last encounter. She had this glow about her, perhaps even a new relationship too. She was genuinely happy for her especially since it seemed that she chose to be better for herself.
"I'm not surprised, rapping's always been your thing. Glad to know you've made something out of it after all, I'm proud of you." She said gently nudging her, nodding in response when she mentioned managing the trainees. "Yes I handle them, mostly the female trainees although there are plans to have me manage a group.. I just don't know who just yet or if it's a soloist or actor even so fingers crossed I suppose. "What have you been up to? Anything new about you?.. and I hope /they/ haven't been giving you trouble.." Sana said with a bit of caution in her voice, hoping not to trigger or offend her since family was a bit of a touchy subject after all.
Sana quietly fiddled with her keychain, puffing her cheeks while looking up at the numbers and perking up once she noticed they were nearing the parking lot. 'Home sweet home, I'm coming!!' She thought, the glee filling her eyes. "Hey if you're free, we should definitely grab coffee and catch up soon but only if you want to of course. Feel free to reject."
@◈ minatozaki sana⁻ᵐᵃⁿᵃᵍᵉʳ [ No worries, hun. Hope you’re doing okay~]
This all felt like a dream. Standing there with both earphones awkwardly pinched between her fingers and no escape, Byul wasn’t exactly sure how to act. The last time the two had seen each other had not been the greatest, much on account of her own rather immature actions. She had grown since, but had never dared to reach out to pick the connection back up. It wasn’t for a fear of being shot down romantically, she knew better than to seek that out after the failure of a girlfriend she had been to the woman, but more of a fear of not measuring up. Sana had always been so wonderful and caring, even at her worst hour, so it felt strange to come crawling back in hopes of having become better.
Of course, Byul had gotten a lot better since then. Sana’s breakup had been her wakeup call to seek some actual help for the struggles she had sat with. It had been her gateway to become bolder and to take more chances; forging the very path that lead her to DSF. To this building. This elevator. Right now.
“That… That’s good. Yeah, I… Uhm…”
Words… Come on. They were Byul’s only real gift and they were really failing her now. She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath like she had been taught, before slowly speaking again: “I’m actually doing a lot better.” The statement came out a bit more confident, her head nodding once in agreement with herself. “Was a long road but, here I am.”
Byulyi chuckled a little. “Yeah, don’t say,” she agreed, finally clearing her mind enough to put her earplugs away. “Uh I… I coach rapping. Do some producing and writing and all on the side, but yeah, mainly focusing on getting the kids shots in the new groups and all.” A small smile made it to her lips. She was fond of the trainees. Seeing the hopeful look in their eyes when she coached was a blessing unlike any other. “I take it you manage ‘em? You got a main group, or just in charge of the trainees in general?”
@◈ moon byulyi ᴍᴏᴏɴʙʏᴜʟ⁻ʳᵃᵖ ᶜᵒᵃᶜʰ // apologies for the late response dear ;;
Her eyes widen once Byul had responded to her call. It really was her and she looked so much better than when they saw each other last. Happier, brighter even. "Hey, yea I've been doing good! How have you been?" She said with a soft smile, trying not to over do her approach knowing both of them were exhausted from today's work load. "Hope things have been well for you," she added while holding on to her purse, a bit of distance kept in between them. Suppose it was a bit awkward still even if it had been a few years now but she wouldn't hold it against her ex. Sana was the one that broke it off after all and she understood if Byul didn't want to engage in small talk.
Her smile became sheepish before breaking eye contact with Byul, looking up at the floor numbers decrease by floor. She hoped that no one else would come in. It was awkward enough that they'd meet under these circumstances so to add another person in that mix was a little much already. "I didn't think we'd end up working at the same place.." Sana spoke into the air, glancing at Byul while she put her hands in her pocket.
"You..I assume you're a producer or coach around here? Truthfully I don't really know who's teaching my trainees most of the time since they switch every now and then." She mused, chuckling softly at her own remark. It was usually a surprise for her and the trainees so it was usually a guessing game.
@◈ minatozaki sana⁻ᵐᵃⁿᵃᵍᵉʳ With one earphone in, Byul was already half way to her escape from reality. Her fingers awkwardly fumbled with the second one, not wanting to put it in while driving but not yet knowing what to do with it until she was in the car and could put it in the middle of the console. The familiar beat of one of DIA's songs played quietly in the one ear as she nodded her head along, lost to the song.
Well, almost lost to the song. The sound of a woman's voice from down the hallway sounded just loud enough through the closing gap of the door. Byulyi reached for the buttons, spamming the open doors button with a sense of hurry. She had nowhere she had to be in a rush, so if she could spare a colleague a minute or two with a small gesture it would be worth it.
A hand appeared at the side of the door before it could make another attempt to close. Byul let out a soft sigh of relief as the woman walked in, bowing her head slightly in turn when something struck her. That voice.... it was familiar. And her eyes. The nose....
Those lips.
Byulyi swallowed heavily, squeezing her eyes shut for a moment. Surely she was imagining things. Probably just her body giving her a sign that she needed a proper long night's sleep when she got home. Because of all places in the world why would Sana ever be here in the elevator of DSF on a random Friday? The coincidences needed for that to be real was astronomical.
Until she felt a light tap on her shoulder and heard the all too familiar voice again. It really was her, wasn't it? Plucking the earphone out of her ear, Byulyi slowly turned to face her ex, an awkwardly stiff smile on her lips. "S-sana. Hey. How... are you?"
God, could she sound any less embarrassing?
@◈ moon byulyi ᴍᴏᴏɴʙʏᴜʟ⁻ʳᵃᵖ ᶜᵒᵃᶜʰ Friday, Friday after work hours to be exact was the highlight of Sana's day. Pretty sure her co-workers would agree it was theirs too. She was making sure to make the most of this time before she would be assigned to group or artist, it was rumoured the work days were expected to be longer. She couldn't wait to be back in her bed as she needed a long, fat, nap or possibly sleep until the sun rose. Whatever she was going to do, it definitely wasn't going to be work related.
She happily turned off her computer, collected her belongings while making sure she didn't forget a single thing. "Bye," she said with a soft smile and gentle wave to her other workmates who were either doing over time or tying up loose ends before heading off like her. It's not that she didn't want to hang out with them or anything but extroverts needed to recharge too compared to what most people said. A small yawn came from her lips as she walk down the hall over to the elevators, gasping when she noticed one open and someone go in. "Hold on! Please hold the lift!" She called out while running to catch it before the doors closed. She placed her hand on the doors just in time, triggering them to open for her. Sana bowed to the individual and made her way to the other side, "thank you and sorry.." she muttered as the doors closed.
'There's no way..' she thought as she glanced at the person, her eyes widening at the realization. There's absolutely no way this was who she thought it was, their side profile was all too familiar. She hesitated at first but it would surely bother her if she didn't find out. She cleared and gently tapped the other, "Byul?..is that you?.."
@◈ minatozaki sana⁻ᵐᵃⁿᵃᵍᵉʳ As much as Byulyi loved her work (and would work many a weekend) she was no stranger to the lovely feeling of the approach end of a friday work day. There was just something special to closing down your work and office for the day, locking the doors behind you and knowing you’d be able to take a break. Or at least make time for a break. And that was exactly the plan today: Straight home, a nice warm shower, then wrap herself up in a comfy blanket on the couch, reading the new book she had recently bought until the night would eventually steal her away to sleep.
The thought itself had her happy smiling as she strode to the elevator, twirling her car keys around her finger as she hummed a familiar melody. Today had been a productive day. No… This had been a productive week! She had worked hard and deserved the break tonight would bring. Her eyes darted around the empty hallway as she hit the elevator’s call button, ensuring the coast was clear before getting a bit more into the song, slowly moving along to her own lyrics.
Perhaps it was self-centred, but it made her happy to have a reminder like that on loop in her mind. An electronic ding signalled the arrival of the elevator right before the doors opened. Byulyi plucked her earplugs out from her bag, beginning the syncing process to her phone as she got it, waiting for the doors to close.
@☼ hwang hyunjin No promises
comes his cheeky response, gently catching on to hyunjins hand as he tries to detangle himself from the other , only a brief moment before letting him go
he smiles to himself with a shake of his head as his fishing his pockets for the key and unlocking it
lets go home
@☼ jeon jungkook ʳᵒᵐᵉᵒ No. I don't want to let you go. Not yet.
*He was only partly joking, still not quite believing how months of pettiness were now behind them*
*he stared long and hard at his boyfriend - his ing boyfriend- before untucking himself from his pockets*
Fine. But don't kill us with your driving. I want to live another day with you.
*Hyunjin clears his throat at the unintentional deep confession, quickly rounding the back of the Mercedes and waiting for the doors to unlock*
*he tugs impatiently on the door handle when it isn't immediately done* Hurry upppppp
@☼ hwang hyunjin ehhh
I might run you over in it
smug as ever he bumps his nose gently into hyunjins before heaving out a dramatic sigh
i guessssss i could take you home, i mean technically we’re going to the same destination huh?
but for me to do that you have to let me go
he looks down at hyunjins arms and alluding to the hands that found their home in his back pockets
@☼ jeon jungkook ʳᵒᵐᵉᵒ *hyunjin can't resist the temptation Jungkook provides, and while he playfully tries to dodge the extra kisses it's with the effort of a senior dog on the balcony during a sunny afternoon* *he relishes the little touches, snorting at the choice of name when it's announced*
I still think Sam is better but I can see why you'd be influenced into this name
*he tucks his hands into the others back pockets, their faces dangerously close as he nudges the other back against his new car*
You gonna drive me home in it, or what?
@☼ hwang hyunjin jungkook eagerly meets him halfway, almost not letting him finish his words words. he could cry but he wont because he’s tired of being a . instead, he just wraps hyunjin tighter in his arms , lips seeking all the confirmation and reassurance needed. he even chases after hyunjins lips , craning his neck as the other tries to pull away, kissing the corners of his mouth in between every word until satisfied. he pulls back with a eating grin
not sam, no. named him Louis. Like Louis Vuitton because thats the money i spent to get this y Benz
@☼ jeon jungkook ʳᵒᵐᵉᵒ That's all I want....
*Hyunjin accepts the leap of faith with Jungkook, and seals their promise with a kiss*
*every part of him is terrified of the unknown to come. Could he really let go of all that anger so easily? Would Jungkook really hold up to his promise?*
*There was no one and nothing that could answer him. So they just kissed.*
*For all the problems in the world, this was where Hyunjin was meant to be. By Jungkook's side. In his arms. With him.*
*He reluctantly pulls away, turning his face so the other doesn't see the ridiculous, over-excited expression on his face*
So... Is that car yours? Is this another thing you bought and named Sam, because it's y and luxurious?
@☼ hwang hyunjin it was almost surreal, every passing moment his smile grows along with the warm feeling in his chest. this is all he’s wanted. just hyunjin and their love. jungkooks feet shuffle at the pull, arms wrapping themselves around the others waist.
I promise
he says , lip poking out in a small pout momentarily
I’m never leaving again, we sort everything out together. if i need space or maybe a getaway vacation, I’ll let you in on it.
@☼ jeon jungkook ʳᵒᵐᵉᵒ *He didn't know what felt nicer, having Jungkook smile at him, or knowing that he could now kiss him whenever he wanted... It was almost too much for Hyunjin to handle*
*still, he pushes away from the car, and grabs a fistful of Jungkook's shirt to tug him through the remaining gap* *their chests lightly bump together from the momentum's swing, and for the first time in months, the smile Hyunjin shares is real*
You're an ... *he hums, carefully tucking some of the others bangs off his forehead* *he hesitated on kooks lips, tracing them with his thumb* You're mine, right?
You're not running away without telling me again? We work through our bull together
*to stress how serious he was, he yanked Jungkook's lipnout where he was tracing it, letting it snap back comically* Promise me.
@☼ hwang hyunjin still a jerk
he scoffs with a hint of a smile, relieved the tension is broken by the only way the two of them know how
YES I WAS and I’ll have you know sammy is a y red electric guitar, you should be thankful
he mirrors hyunjins stance, leaning against his own car. he looks at hyunjin so softly even after all these years hes still so shy with his feelings. one of the many things jungkook adored about him , his genuine feelings arent just shown to anyone . makes him feel special to have such an affect
i dunno are we? cause if we are you should probably kiss me then,
@☼ jeon jungkook ʳᵒᵐᵉᵒ *don't laugh don't laugh don't laugh, hyunjin pleaded with himself as Jungkook admitted to buying the guitar*
*he couldn't laugh and break this emotional moment but that goddamn grin split his expression, growing with every word*
*one of his eyebrows raises cockily* You bought a guitar me... damn, you must've been lonely
*it's almost funny how easy it is to just sink back into it *
*he leans back on the car behind him (thankfully the security alarm doesn't blow), arms still crossed on his chest* *he watches Jungkook for a second, chewing on the inside of his cheeks*
So then... Are we like... together again, or whatever? And if we are... Can you come sleep at our place... Please... *he mutters the plead to the parking lot ground, scuffing one of the lines with his toe*
